She understandably responds, "I get it. A health crisis like this can be extremely stressful on the family as well as the person who's sick. My thoughts and prayers continue to be with all, as you navigate this difficult and uncertain time." Kerry appreciates her response as she says, "Thank you Judy. We appreciate that very much."

Judy nods as she says, "You're welcome. I asked about Sam not just because I do care. But also because I know how close Tony is to him. And, how his illness has impacted him. Which leads me to his recent conversation with Shonda."

Kerry nods as she says, "Yes. That mess." Judy agreeably replies, "That mess indeed. But, it's a mess of her making. And this is going to be huge." Kerry inquisitively asks, "What do you mean?" She responds, "I spoke with the network president, as well as some other sources. And, it's apparent there is a shakeup coming. Not necessarily due to their fallout, but it is definitely going to appear that way to Shonda once she gets word."

Kerry realizes what she's saying as she replies, "So she's going to be out for us once again?" Judy nods as she responds, "Yes. There's no doubt she will be. From what I understand she's taken over the writing for both of your characters for next season." Kerry shakes her head as she says, "Oh God. This is going to be brutal."

Judy agrees with her, it's definitely going to be a major challenge. She wants to be positive, but she has to be honest with her given how things unfolded. Respectfully she says, "There's no doubt Shonda feels betrayed by Tony. With him pulling rank by calling David after their phone conversation; he may as well have waved a red flag in front of a charging bull. Then add to that the serious reprimand she received from the network, due to her albeit insensitive and ridiculous remarks made during the conversation. I'm sure you both had to know this was coming." Kerry sighs as she says, "Yes. I think we both knew this was a possibility. It's not a surprise she'd be pissed and behave unprofessionally by taking it out on our on screen characters. Since it's her only control over us. But, it doesn't mean we have to like it, you know." She understands her response and says, "Yes. I get where you're coming from. Dealing with someone like Shonda is tiring for sure. But, this is where you ask yourself if it's all worth it or not."

She agrees with her, it's definitely been a question she's posed to herself on an occasion or two. And each time she's come back to it being worth it, because of the payoff of them being together. She snaps from her thoughts as she says, "You're right. It's a fair question. And I can absolutely say my family is worth it. I'd do it all again for us."

Judy smiles at her as she replies, "Fair enough. In the meantime, keep your head on a swivel with Shonda while you're on set. I know you don't return till after the holidays. But, I wanted you both to know she's gunning for you, and this time I think it's going to be a real doozy." Kerry nods as she says, "At this point she can bring it on; they're her characters to do whatever she wants with. Gone are the days where any of us are truly invested in the storylines of the show anymore. We're all mostly vying for production and direction credit opportunities more so than anything else."

Judy feels for her because she remembers how promising the story started out to be. And, she recalls why Kerry took the job in the first place. She wouldn't normally ask this question of a client, but she feels compelled to ask, "Do you ever regret taking this role?"

She ponders the question for a second and then replies, "No. I don't. Because nothing remains as it once appeared in this business. If you take a role thinking it is going to be exactly what you intended from the start by the end of it. You're not going to be cut out for this business. Everything changes by the minute, not the hour or the day. But literally by minutes. So while I can't say I'm not disappointed at times with how the character has changed, and the twists and turns she's gone through. At the end of the day, she's not me. And my career doesn't rest on this role, or this show. I'm my brand. So my actions as myself will determine the success of my career, not one project. Which is why I have made certain personal and professional choices that have brought me to where I am today, and in need of your expertise."

Judy grins at her as she says, "And it is my pleasure to be of service to you as you make your way. Thanks for answering that question, I know it wasn't easy." Kerry comfortably replies, "You're fine Judy. I didn't mind a bit. I know who I am, and I'm proud of me and all of my choices. Because they make me who I am, whether they're good or bad. Knowing that, and understanding it is essential to me maintaining my sanity."

Judy nods at her as she says, "Well said. Being comfortable in your own skin is something else isn't it?" Kerry grins as she replies, "Yes it is. I'm learning more and more to love me and all of my flaws." Judy claps her hands as she responds, "Bravo. And I must say, acceptance looks good on you. Keep up the good work." Filled with joy and appreciation she says, "Thank you. I will. Was there anything else we need to cover?"

Judy checks her list and says, "We need to discuss some upcoming appearances with Nnamdi for the MET, BET, and NAACP awards that are coming up. But, we can wait till after the holidays if you want. It's up to you." Kerry pauses for a second and then says, "I'd like to wait if you don't mind.' Judy nods as she says, "Not at all. With that being said, it looks like we are all done my dear. Unless you have something you want to discuss?" Kerry shakes her head as she says, "No mam. I'm good. I just want to wish you and the family a happy thanksgiving." Judy replies, "Thanks, same to you and yours. I will talk to you later. Safe travels to you all." Kerry responds, "You're welcome. And thanks again for everything. Bye." Judy waves at her as she says, "Bye."

With the call over, Kerry sits back in her chair and relaxes a moment. She takes in what she's learned and lets it settle in her head. Above all, the conversation was good. But, of course the one thing that sticks in her craw is the inevitable drama that Shonda is certainly going to cause for them on set. Despite them both being completely over how childish she can be, and them both being all but pass the joy of doing the show, and really only collecting a check. She is still in wonderment about just how bad the next season or so for the show will be. Knowing it's all because of her reignited feud with her husband.
