SmackDown Filming: December 27, 2011

I sigh as Randy is getting his ring gear on for his match tonight. "Please be careful, Randy."

Randy smiles at me. "I'll try my best, Rissa, but all of this ends tonight."

"I know that, Randy. I just want to be able to leave Indianapolis tonight without you being severely hurt."

"I'll be fine. Just let me take Wade down in this Falls Count Anywhere match tonight."

"I just want you healthy. That's all I ask of you."

"I'll honor that, Rissa. Stop worrying please."

"I'm always going to worry a little bit."

"I know. Just try not to worry very much."

I sigh. "I guess I can try."

"That's all I ask, Rissa. Just try not to worry about me very much."

"I'll do my best."

"Thank you. You look beautiful by the way."

I grin. "Thank you."

Randy finishes getting his gear and boots on. "Man, I love you."

"I love you too."

Randy pulls me into a kiss. "I can't wait to spend all of 2012 with you too."

"2012?" I ask. "How about the rest of our lives?"

"The rest of our lives of course. I was just saying 2012 because it's the end of the year pretty much."

"Oh. Just kiss me, so I don't look even more dumb."

"Alright." Randy kisses me again.

I looked at Ted as we sat together in Catering. "I know Randy is a fantastic wrestler, but this whole Falls Count Anywhere match against Wade Barrett tonight worries me."

Ted nods as he looks at me. "I understand. You love Randy, and you just want him to be healthy."

"That's not wrong at all. I just want to see Randy being healthy."

"He knows what he's doing though, Rissa. He should be fine."

"I hope so. I really hope so. I just have this nagging feeling that something's gonna go wrong."

"That sounds like some anxiety to me. Just relax and enjoy your food. Randy's match is soon, and he'll be fine at the end of it."

I pick at my food. "He better be alright at the end of it. If he's not, then I'll go after Wade's ass myself."

"Aren't you not supposed to be involved in physicality?"

"I never said that I'd be involved in any physicality. I can go after Wade without physicality, but that won't be necessary. Randy is gonna be fine."

"Exactly. Let's think positively about it, Rissa. Randy is gonna be fine."

I nod. "I'm going to try to keep thinking that way."

"That's what you should do."

Eve walks over with some food and sits with us. "Hey."

"Hey." Ted and I both reply.

"What's up?"

"Rissa is stressing over Randy's match with Wade Barrett tonight." Ted answers.

"Well, Ted, I can't blame her for worrying about Randy. I worry about Cody all of the time. Hell, I worry about you, and we are barely friends."

I start laughing. "Barely. Wow."

"Barely friends?" Ted asks. "I thought of you as a good friend, Eve. That hurts."

Eve laughs. "Sorry. Anyway, Rissa, I do understand."

"Do you worry about Randy more than me, Eve?"

"No, Ted, because Randy has his shit under control."

"Am I worrying too much?" I ask.

"No, I don't think so. Randy is competing in a Falls Count Anywhere match tonight, and Wade is the type to try to injure someone. I think it's reasonable."

"Okay, good. Randy just wants me to try to not stress out about it, but it's hard. I just want him unharmed and healthy."

"And that's completely reasonable."

"I just can't quite shake that feeling that something's gonna go wrong."

"You'll just have to watch the match. I'm sure everything will be alright. Let's change the subject. Why'd you not come to work yesterday?"

"They weren't gonna give Randy a match, so we decided that we weren't going to come in a day after Christmas, even though the drive wouldn't have been that bad for us."

"Fair enough. What did you say to Cody last week? He told me that he came to you asking for advice."

"Well…I essentially told Cody to consider how you're feeling about things and to show you that he wanted to fix things too."

"Oh. Well, what you said worked. He's been going extra for me ever since and has agreed to go to couples therapy with me."

"That's really good to hear."

"He also apologized to me and John yesterday." Ted adds.

"He caught me and Randy when we first got here to the arena tonight and apologized to Randy. I got my apology last week."

"So are we allowing Cody to hang out with us again?"

"He apologized. Everyone accepted it. I don't see why not."

"Okay. That's good. We can all be reunited again."

"Yeah." Eve agrees. "The Falls Count Anywhere match is starting."

I tense up as we look at the nearest monitor. "Oh yay."

Eve puts an arm around me. "He'll be fine."

We all watch the match in silence. The men started the fight in the ring, but their brawl quickly spilled backstage.

I bite my lip as the two were fighting in an elevator. "I don't like this. I don't like this one bit."

Eve gives me a sad look. "He'll be fine."

"I'm not so sure about that myself." Ted comments.

They show Randy and Wade fighting through a hallway. The camera gets a shot of Randy falling down some concrete steps. I physically cringe as the next camera shot shows Randy lying at the bottom of the steps. Wade has run away while Randy is trying to get up, but he can't get up. I feel my eyes start to water, but I try to hide it as I get up to leave.

Eve gives me a concerned look. "Rissa, are you-"

"I'm fine." I quickly replied before leaving Catering.

I was pacing back and forth in the trainer's room, waiting on Randy to arrive. I just knew something was going to go wrong tonight. Something in my gut had just told me that, and I hated that I was right.

Randy walks in with a couple doctors helping. He gets sat down, and I give him a sad look.

"I tried to be careful." Randy says as he watches doctors discuss some things.

"I know you did." I whisper as my eyes start to water.

"Lay down." One of the doctors says to Randy.

"Alright." Randy replies as he lays down.

"What are we thinking is wrong?" I ask.

"We suspect a herniated disc." The same doctor that told Randy to lay down tells me. "Randy, try to lift your leg."

"How long would he be out for?"

"Probably about four weeks."

"Four weeks?"

"Yeah." The doctor says as Randy hisses in pain from trying to lift his leg. "It's a herniated disc. He'll be out for four weeks if recovery goes as planned. He'll be back right before the Royal Rumble."

I nod as I feel tears in my eyes. "Alright then. I'll take good care of him."

Randy grabs my hand. "I'll be alright, Rissa. It'll be fine."

This is not how I wanted to end 2011 or start 2012, with Randy injured.
