Raw: January 2, 2012

I sighed as I continued to go through some paperwork in my office. Not being able to wrestle and still hanging out backstage was hard enough on me, but doing it all without Randy being around made things way worse. I rolled my eyes as I moved on to the next bit of paperwork that I had to go through. I hear a knock on my door.

"It's open." I answer, hoping that since no one ever came by my office that whoever was coming by today was someone I liked.

I looked up at the door as Chris Jericho entered.

"Should I shut the door behind me?" Chris asks.

"Yeah, do that." I smile as I move the paperwork away.

Chris shuts the door. "Does it matter where I sit?"

"Sit wherever. I don't really care. I don't get visitors in here, so this is a nice change."

Chris sits down directly across from me, in the chair on the other side of my desk. "That's what I'm here for, getting you to be in a better mood."

I laugh. "Is that so?"

"Actually, I'm returning tonight, but until then, I'll talk to you. How long has it been since we've seen each other in person?"

"Six months I think."

"Exactly. It's been way too long."

"Yeah, it has been way too long. How's Morgan and the kids?"

"They're all doing well. Morgan is healthy. The twins are healthy. Bella is the same energetic child she's always been."

I laugh. "Bella is seriously the most energetic little girl I've ever seen."

"Yeah, the twins are about to be two months old. Luckily for me and Morgan, they tend to be happy little baby boys."

"That's good. What did you name them? When I got that text, it was just one picture and a message saying that they arrived."

Chris gets out his phone and shows me a picture. "This one on the left is my older one, Cason Quinn Jericho, and on the right is my younger one, Collin Kellan Jericho."

"They're so adorable. How's Bella taking being an older sister?"

"Oh, she loves it. She keeps trying to help, but she's not even two. She can't do much."

"Yeah, that's adorable though."

"It really is. We're discussing taking them to be backstage at the Royal Rumble."

"That'd be really cool. It's in Saint Louis, so we could probably do dinner after the show at my place or something."

"Is Randy going to be cool with that?"

"I'm going to end up being the cook, so he'll go along with it. Plus, he loves small children. If you end up bringing the babies, he'll be fine. Actually, even Bella would probably be fine to keep Randy entertained with small children."

Chris laughs. "She's energetic enough to keep him entertained I'm sure. How's he doing by the way? I ran into Cena earlier. He said Randy's injured and you've pretty much been MIA since. John said nobody was even sure if you were here or not because Randy is injured and they didn't see your tour bus. I just thought I'd take a shot, and you're here."

I sigh. "I drove here. Randy and I gave our driver time off since Randy is injured and I'm not competing. Randy has a herniated disc. He gets to be back right before the Royal Rumble. I'm keeping myself occupied in here since I don't have a locker-room now and I might be tempted to go after Wade and do something I would probably regret later."

"Why did you come to work then? You aren't competing right now."

"I have a job as the President of the Divas Division, and Randy and I just didn't show up to Raw last week."

"Oh. I see what you mean. The higher ups would probably get pissed off if you bailed again."

"Yeah, if I had things my way, I'd be at home with Randy."

"I'm sure you would be. You don't like being on the road without him, and you aren't competing. Why is that by the way? You don't seem to be injured."

"I'm not. Randy and I have been…well, trying."

"Oh. Are you pregnant yet?"

I shake my head. "Nope. Both of Morgan's pregnancies were accidental, right?"

"Yeah, why?"

"I was just curious. DJ is due to give birth at the end of the month too. Everyone is having babies."

"DJ? The baby Hardy? She's having a baby? Wait, she's married to Miz. Miz is having a baby?"

"Yeah."

"That's a bit surprising. I think I'm gonna head out. You have extra friends here tonight. Am I allowed to tattle on you hiding out in your office?"

"What extra friends?"

"Michelle and Maryse are both hanging out backstage tonight."

"Oh. I guess I'll let you tattle on me then."

Chris smiles. "Okay. I'll let them know. They're worried about you."

"I know. Thanks, Chris."

"No problem."

"So…" Chelle says to me. "You drove to work today? By yourself on top of that?"

I shake my head as we watch the main event from the screen in my office. "Yeah. I drove by myself to work today."

"That's crazy. Have you ever even traveled by yourself?"

"I think so. When I first came in as a clueless young rookie, even during the Diva Search, I rode with Randy and Dave. I did that even after I got drafted to SmackDown in 2005 because we all three got drafted. When I got traded back to Raw later that year and they remained on SmackDown, I started riding with Trish. After Trish retired and before my neck injury, I rode with Randy again. After the neck injury, I think I rode alone until Chris came back, so yes, I have."

"You've had a wide range of car partners. Anyone else?"

"Um…I think after the breakup I rotated between riding either with Kelly and Layla or with Dave until we all pulled together into a faction. I rode with Eve and Ryse for a week. Then, Randy and I got together and it was convenient to ride with him, so that's what we did, even when I came back after we broke up and both of us ended other relationships because we got cheated on. The rest is history."

"So it was weird today?"

"It was very weird riding alone today. Do you think Eve and Ryse would want to hit the hotel bar with us tonight?"

"Are we talking about getting drunk drinking or just a few drinks?"

I laugh. "Honestly, I can't do much of the first option anymore. I meant a few drinks. I have a lot going on and would like to have a small girls night."

"Oh. Alright. I think they would want to. I'll come as well, but I'm not drinking."

I give Chelle a confused look. "You're not drinking?"

"Well…no."

"Why not? You always drink, Chelle. Is…oh my gosh, are you pregnant?"

Chelle shrugs. "Yeah, I…I haven't been for very long. We're not telling a lot of people right now. I wanted to tell you, Eve, and Ryse. I haven't told them yet though. I was a little unsure about how I was going to be telling you since you're also trying. Are you sure you're not since you're gonna drink?"

"My period started today. I'm good, Chelle. Congrats though. I'd be louder, but I'm sure you don't want people to hear."

Chelle grins. "Thank you, Rissa."

I smiled as I looked at my phone while waiting for the girls to show up at the bar. I had gotten here first, so I had claimed a table for us. I quietly read and replied to the text Randy had sent me.

Randy: I miss you so much. Can't you just come home?

Me: Sorry. I wish I could, but they want me at work.

I look up to see Ryse and Chelle walking together to the table. "Hey, guys."

"Hey." Ryse says as she sits down across from me.

"What's up?" Chelle asks as she sits down to my right.

I shrug. "Not much. Waiting around and replying to a text from Randy. Is Eve on her way yet?"

"Cody told us she was about done getting ready. Is Randy missing you a lot?"

"Yeah, I can't blame him though. He's in our house alone. Chelle, you know how it is. It's a big house, and no one to hang out with."

"I didn't mind it at times, but I feel bad for him since you had to work."

"Yeah, me too, and I am supposed to go to the SmackDown filming tomorrow so I can't go home yet."

"That's a bummer." Ryse comments.

"It sure is."

"Hey," Eve says as she sits next to Ryse and across from Chelle. "Sorry I took so long."

Chelle shrugs. "It's all good. We're glad you could make it."

"Alright. So are we ordering drinks now?"

"Actually, wait just a second on that. I have something I wanted to tell you guys first."

"Okay…?"

"What's going on, Chelle?" Ryse asks.

"Well, Rissa already knows because she put it together from something I said to her at the arena, but I wanted to tell you guys that I'm pregnant."

"What? Congratulations!"

"This is amazing!" Eve exclaims. "No alcohol for you though."

Chelle laughs. "I'll just have a glass of water. I'll be just fine."

"Okay. I'm going to get drinks for us, of course water for Chelle. Anyone want to join me?"

Ryse nods. "I'll join you, Eve."

"Okay. Rissa, Chelle, we'll be back in a few."

Eve and Ryse go to order drinks.

Chelle gives me a serious look. "Okay, Rissa. What's going on?"

I shrug. "What do you mean?"

"I've been your best friend for about seven and a half years. You're being quiet. I know something's bothering you. It's not me being pregnant, is it?"

I shake my head. "No, I'm really happy for you and John. I'm excited about you being pregnant. I really am. It's just this whole trying to be pregnant thing has been really hard on me and Randy, even though he won't admit that. I really wanted to miss my period and be pregnant, especially this time."

Chelle looks at me as Ryse and Eve sit down with drinks for all of us. "Why's that?"

"Not being in the ring right now is driving me crazy. I know Randy and I haven't been trying for really that long at all, but I miss wrestling. It's almost the Road to WrestleMania, and I hate not being involved. Plus, Randy isn't taking too well to me not being pregnant yet. I didn't expect it to be a quick thing, but I don't think he expected this process to bring a lot of disappointment. It's hard, and I can't stand being out of the ring without having anything to occupy me. If I was pregnant, it'd be easier to not be involved with the Road to WrestleMania this year. I just don't know."

Ryse passes me my drink. I give her an appreciative smile.

Chelle sips her water. "It sounds like to me that you guys may need to take a break from trying to conceive."

"Can I do that this early?"

"Different paces work for different people."

"I get that, but let's say we take a break. I get back in the ring since we're not trying. Isn't that selfish of me? Then, I'm prioritizing my career over trying to have a baby with Randy."

"I don't think that's selfish of you, Rissa. You've gotta think about mental health here too. From what I'm hearing, it may be best for both you and Randy to take a break from trying to have a baby. You're not prioritizing your career over having a baby. You're doing what's best for you both right now."

"Even if that's the case, I have no idea how to tell Randy that. I don't think he'll agree with me there. I was worried about this being a problem before we started trying, but I got to a point where I thought I was comfortable walking away. I'm not going to be comfortable watching the Road to WrestleMania without being involved if I'm not pregnant."

"You just need to sit him down and talk about it with him. It probably won't be an easy conversation to have. I'll be honest about that, but you need to have the conversation. It needs to happen while you're at home this week. Have the conversation, so you two can find where you can agree."

"I know. This is so hard though. Every decision I've made about my career before this was only about me. I could just make it on my own. This time, I have to worry about Randy and our future child. It's just so hard."

"Hey, it'll be fine. Just promise you'll talk to him about it this week."

"I will. It's going to be hard not to upset him though because he's already pretty upset about having a herniated disc."

"It's better to talk to him than not to. Let's lighten up the mood now. Just relax for a while."

I nod. "Alright."
