So I'm trying to make sure Tyra's age is matching up with the timeline, if I'm correct, Tyra was 17 years old for the first Iron Man movie (2008). Was 19 on Iron Man 2 (2010), and is now age 23 for the first Avengers (2012). I'll fix everything else as I get to it, but re-writing this series makes me realize how much I loved writing fanfiction :D Enjoy!

It almost feels surreal how long it had been since the announcement of Iron Man, of my dad's kidnapping more like. Everything changed, nothing was constant and predictable anymore. Since I joined SHIELD, my eyes had been opened to things I once thought were pure myth. Since I'd been working on the Tesseract with Dr. Selvig after the events of my dad's reveal as Iron Man, I'd been catching up with so much reading on everything SHIELD had relating to the Tesseract.

It was like reading a novel that never seemed to end. It all began in World War II when the Nazi's, or an organization tied to them referred to as HYDRA, had found the Tesseract and tried to use it to turn the tables against the Allied forces. However, when Captain America foiled their plans, it was lost at sea along with him. That was, until Howard Stark had found it in search of Captain America since he'd been MIA.

So now, after all this time of trying to figure out the power of the Tesseract, it's been in SHIELD's possession. Then there were the reports I'd read regarding the Norse God of Thunder, Thor who'd crash landed on Earth after being exiled from Asgard by King Odin. As Selvig had mentioned to me before, his brother Loki had been the one to deceive his family because he wanted the throne to Asgard. I shut my laptop and begin packing, as I start getting ready to return to the SHIELD base. I'd been recently staying at the Stark Towers my father established in New York City, and it was convenient for me because the SHIELD base wasn't extremely far from me, but only a couple of hours.

I don't know how I'm able to keep up with all of this.

I grab my luggage and begin to head down to say goodbye to my old man. Since I had the time, I hung out with him as I read up on more of Selvig's files and his theories pertaining to the cube, and I even added some notes for him to read up on later.

"Hey, Tyra. I know you're about to leave to your oh so special job at SHIELD, but I need your help with something."

I snapped out of my thoughts and turned around to see my father giving me that award winning smile.

"Okay then? What do you need?" I laughed.

Dad led me over to the mini bar and pulled something out from behind the counter.

"White wine? Or red?" He asked.

"For what exactly?" I smile at him amusedly.

"I'm going to run Stark Towers on clean energy, remember? It's for when Pepper and I celebrate...so I'll ask again, white wine or vodka?"

Dad started pouring himself some scotch, before pouring me a shot of vodka. I had a certain fondness for vodka since Monaco in 2010, so it was my primary go to for a strong drink, other than Jack Daniels whiskey. After downing my shot, I can hear my pager going off and inwardly groan as I reach for my pocket. That's when my eyes widen. It was a message from Selvig, about a change in the Tesseract. I quickly begin to message him back.

Selvig: Tyra, there's been a change in the Tesseract.

I need you to get to the base ASAP.

How long will you be?

Tyra: I'm about to leave Stark Towers in New York,

I should only be a couple of hours.

Selvig: Hurry please. It's activating.

I'm interrupted when dad taps my shoulder. He notices the distressed look on my face and looks worried as I shove my pager in my pocket and down another shot of vodka in a hurry.

"What's wrong?" Dad asked.

"It's urgent...I have to go." I smiled at him sadly. "I love you!"

I blew him a kiss and went into the elevator. I immediately call Happy on my cell phone and ask him to bring my Ferrari around in the garage as I prepare for a quick getaway.

"How bad is it?" Fury asked.

"That's the problem, sir...we don't know." Coulson replied.

The two came rushing inside and Maria Hill appeared at their side. They were on their way to see the Tesseract and were having the entire facility evacuated.

"Miss Stark and Dr. Selvig read an energy surge on the Tesseract four hours ago." Coulson informed him.

"NASA didn't authorize Miss Stark or Dr. Selvig to test phase." Fury looked displeased.

"They weren't testing it. They weren't even in the room."

Fury looked at Coulson in confusion.

"It was an spontaneous advancement." Coulson clarified.

"It just turned itself on?" Maria raised an eyebrow in confusion.

"What are the energy levels now?" Fury asked.

"Climbing...when Selvig and Stark couldn't shut it down, we ordered the evac." Phil said.

"How long will it take for everyone to get out?"

"Campus should be clear in the next half hour." Coulson answered.

Coulson left to help the evac go faster. Maria was then left with Fury.

"Sir, evacuation may be futile." Agent Hill spoke up.

"Would you prefer we tell them to go back to sleep?" Fury replied sarcastically.

"If we can't control the Tesseract's energy, there may not be a minimum safe distance." Maria said.

"I need you to make sure that PHASE 2 prototypes are shipped out." Nick ordered her.

"Sir, is that really a priority right now?" Maria looked at him in disbelief.

"Until such time as the world ends, we will act as though it intends to spin on. Clear out the tech below. Every piece of PHASE 2 on a truck and gone."

"Yes, sir." Maria reluctantly complied and followed Fury's orders.

Maria spotted two soldiers and began making her leave with them. Nick came into the lab facility and spotted us moving around frantically.

"Talk to me, both of you." Nick looked at us for answers.

Dr. Selvig came out from behind the CMS machine looking concerned.

"Director..." Selvig's eyes widened.

"Is there anything we know for certain?" Fury asked.

"The Tesseract is misbehaving." Selvig replied.

"Is that supposed to be funny?" Fury glared at Selvig.

"No, it's not funny at all."

"He's not joking around, sir. The Tesseract is not only active...she's misbehaving." I finally spoke up.

"How soon until you both pull the plug?" Fury folded his arms.

"She's an energy source. If we turn off the power, she turns it back on. If she reaches peak level..." Selvig grew more worried.

"We've prepared for this, doctor. Harnessing energy from space." Nick looked annoyed.

"Listen, we don't have the harness. Our calculations are far from complete, Fury. Now she's throwing off interference, radiation- -" I began.

"Nothing harmful, low levels of gamma radiation..." Selvig finished.

"That can be harmful...where's Barton?" Nick looked around.

"The Hawk? Up in his nest, as usual." Selvig answered.

Clint came down and started talking with Fury from a distance. After staring at the monitor, more alarms start signaling, and my eyes widen with panic.

"Shit snacks! Selvig! It's spiking again!" I turned over to him in panic.

Selvig is typing away on a computer in a rushed manner and he pauses to look at the screen only to look extremely worried.

Damn it! What else could go wrong?!

I closed my eyes and held my hands over my ears when I heard thundering from above us. In seconds, a wave of energy blasts around the room. That's when I opened my eyes to find my worst nightmare become reality. The raven-haired man from my dreams, Loki, had finally arrived to Earth. I find myself frozen in fear along with everyone else in the room. However, knowing that he's here, I find myself determined not to let things happen as they did in my dream and came prepared. I have my holographic shield bracelet latched onto my wrist and I'm almost tempted to knock out Clint considering he's the one that shoots me.

So...is it possible that I'm a psychic? This is literally something I dreamt about.

Loki begins to stand tall as he observes everyone in the room, and when his eyes fall on me, I feel my breath catch in my throat. He grins at me and even winks which catches me off guard.

"Sir, please put down the spear!" Fury told Loki.

Being brought out of his thoughts by Fury, Loki looks down at his scepter before pointing right at Fury and Barton and firing a huge blast of blue energy right at them. Barton tackled Fury to the ground and barely managed to dodge the energy beam.

And then all hell broke loose.

When every agent in sight fires their weapons on Loki, that's when he moves like the speed of sound and takes out everyone. Left and right, I'm barely able to keep up as everyone nearly drops dead, and some do die. Then, I see Loki stop Clint from drawing his gun. It was the first time I'd ever seen Clint show any kind of fear or nervousness in the time I'd known him.

"You have heart." Loki spoke up.

Loki puts the tip of the spear on Clint's chest and in seconds his eyes turn black before they glow blue. Loki stands up straight and smiles smugly, thinking he's won somehow.

What's the deal with that scepter?

"I am Loki of Asgard and I am burdened with great purpose." Loki smirked.

"You're Loki! Brother of Thor!" Selvig recognized Loki and gave him an excited smile.

Seriously Selvig? He just killed a few of SHIELD's agents...

Loki glared at Selvig at the mere mention of Thor's name, before pressing the scepter to Selvig's chest. Selvig's eyes turned black before becoming a shade of blue much similar to Agent Barton's eyes. Much like my dream, I think quickly and move slowly to the Tesseract before putting it inside its case as everyone's distracted. When I glance at Fury, I give him a small nod of confirmation, that I'd take off as soon as I had the opportunity. I glance up at the ceiling, noticing the swirl of energy and finally recalling that this entire base was going to collapse. I begin making my way towards the exit almost agonizingly slow as to not draw attention, but immediately stop when Loki whirls his head to glance at me suspiciously.

Shit snacks...

"I wouldn't leave if I were you, darling. I still need that." Loki smirks.

Fury gets Loki's attention once more as he speaks up.

"This doesn't need to get ugly. We have no quarrel with your people." Fury tells him.

Oh god... this is way too similar to that dream several months ago...I AM A PSYCHIC! YEAH!

"An ant has no quarrel with a boot." He started walking over to us.

"Are you planning to step on us?" Fury looked at the man in disbelief.

I ignore the conversation as I glance around frantically for any means of escape.

There is the possibility that things can change right?

However, seeing the scepter that Loki held was controlling most of the people in this room and Fury and I were the only people that weren't.

The odds are against us right now as it seems...

"RUN!" Fury yelled at me.

I'm spooked but I take off running as I inwardly scream to myself. I remember about Clint's weapon and make sure to have my holographic shield activated if he starts shooting at me. Just when I'm at the exit, Loki shoots a blast of energy at the floor in front of me, blowing me back a few feet due to the force of impact. I quickly get up and take off again, until someone has their hand on the back of my shirt and yanks me backwards.

Oh noooooo...

The case is ripped from my tight grasp as it falls to the floor, and I fight as hard as I can to get it back. Then, both of my hands are restrained by Loki as he only uses one hand.

"Let go of me you jerk!" I struggled against him.

Loki looks incredibly confused that I'm not screaming at him in fear, and I refuse to give him that sort of satisfaction.

"You are an odd Midgardian. You should be afraid...and...you look familiar. Have I threatened you before?" The man raised an eyebrow at me.

I'll probably regret hitting him, but fuck this guy.

I glare at him as I bring my head back and snap it forward to headbut his face. He screams as he releases me, stumbling back and holding his currently bloody nose.

I...sorta don't regret hitting him anymore! Yaaaaaayy...

"No mortal has ever been able to hit me so hard. What exactly are you?" He hissed at me.

Maybe it was the fact that I was terrified deep down, but I find myself becoming as snarky as my father with a sudden burst of confidence I never knew I could possess.

"Man-handle me like that again and I'll be sure to add a black eye." I blurt out.

I think that I'm about to meet Death himself until I hear him respond with laughter.

"Dick." I muttered under my breath.

"You are an interesting female of the mortal species...I can see why Thor was so interested in that Midgardian..."

I looked back at the black hole swirling about in the ceiling. If I stall long enough, no one will make it out of here.

I guess that's fine with me. Loki won't get the Tesseract that way.

I quickly grab the suitcase from the floor and hold it securely.

"I don't know what you're getting at, but if you were trying to ask me out on a date, the answer is no. As in FUCK no, I don't date psychopathic demi-gods." I snarkily reply.

Again, he laughs and takes a step closer as I step back.

"You think I want to court you?" Loki asks. "As beautiful as you may be, you're standing in my way. Now please be a dear and hand over the case. I might be as inclined as to...forgive your past transgressions if you do so now."

Hm...he's...interesting.

I continue to stall and take another step backwards before smirking as Natasha had once taught me to.

She said it was flirty right? And I wonder why I'm single...and socially awkward.

"You think I'm beautiful?" I merely reply.

Loki stares at me skeptically this time, but he finds himself playing along anyway as a smile makes its way on his face.

"I do."

This time, I let Loki approach me and resist the urge to run. He gently cups my cheek with his free hand as the other continues to hold the scepter.

"Sir, Miss Stark is stalling. This place is about to blow. Drop a hundred feet of rock on us. She means to bury us." Agent Barton told him.

My face never wavers as Loki continues to stare into my eyes, but I'm practically shaking with anxiety knowing Clint just gave away everything.

Fuck. I had one chance to do this right...one chance...

"He's right. The portals collapsing in on itself. You've got maybe two minutes before this goes critical." Selvig added.

God damn it Clint...you too Selvig...

"Very clever...Stark was it? What may your first name be?" Loki asked.

I wait a few more seconds to delay him for as long as I can before answering.

"Tyra." I mumbled softly.

"You're far more intelligent than I anticipated. And...you know sacrifice." Loki says.

Loki's thumb swipes at my bottom lip.

"However, I didn't come all this way to be crushed under rubble. So if you don't mind, I'll be taking that case from you before we leave."

"I mean, it's not the worst way to go right?" I replied.

Finally, I make a last ditch effort and break free from Loki as I swing the case as hard as I can at his face. He screams and falls back again. When I move to run out of the exit, I barely dodge a bullet from Clint's gun. From then on, I run as fast as I can, and thank Natasha as well as Clint for all of that training at SHIELD. When I hear more gunshots from behind, I continue running and try not to look back, until the last bullet from Clint's gun finally hits me in the leg. I fall to the floor and scream in pain, tears blurring my vision as I start crawling. I can see the parking garage of the facility from where I am, but before I can cry out I hear someone approach me from behind.

"Sleep." A voice hisses in my ear.

Normal POV

Tony got back to Stark Towers after successfully making the complex run off of self-sustaining clean energy. Pepper smiled at the results on the computer as Tony was in the process of getting his armor taken off.

"Sir, Agent Coulson of SHIELD is on the line." JARVIS informed Tony.

"I'm not in...I'm actually out." Tony smirked.

"Sir, I'm afraid he's insisting..."

"Close the line, JARVIS. I've got a date." Tony said.

Tony made his way inside and saw Pepper fidget around and look at the monitors nervously.

"Levels are holding steady...I think." Pepper mutters.

"Of course they are, I was directly involved. Which brings me to my next question: how does it feel to be a genius?" Tony chuckled.

"Well, ha. I wouldn't really know now, would I?" Pepper rolled her eyes.

"What do you mean? All of this came from you." Tony smiled.

"No, all of this, came from that."

Pepper pointed at the arc reactor in Tony's chest.

"Give yourself some credit, please...Stark Tower is your baby. Give yourself...twelve percent of the credit." Tony put his hands on Pepper's shoulders.

"Twelve percent?" Pepper pushed Tony away.

"An argument can be made for fifteen..." Tony mumbled.

"Twelve percent? For my baby?" Pepper looked at Tony in disbelief.

"Well I did do all of the heavy lifting. I literally lifted the heavy things. And sorry, but the security snafu? That was on you." Tony pointed out.

Pepper started walking away.

"My private elevator- -"

"You mean OUR elevator." Pepper corrected him.

"Was teeming with sweaty workmen, I'm going to pay for that comment about percentages in some subtle way later, aren't I?" Tony sighed.

"Not gonna be that subtle." Pepper smiled knowingly.

"I'll tell you what, next building's gonna say 'Potts' on the tower." Tony offered.

"On the lease." Pepper said.

"...call your mom, can you bunk over?"

"Sir, the telephone. I'm afraid my protocols are being overwritten." JARVIS warned him.

"Stark, we need to talk." Agent Coulson said.

Tony held up his phone and looked into it with a blank stare.

"You have reached the life model decoy of Tony Stark. Please leave a message."

"This is urgent." Coulson spoke seriously.

"Then leave it urgently." Tony retorted.

The elevator sounded and Coulson came out and into the penthouse.

"Security breach!" Tony looked at Pepper. "That's on you."

"Mr. Stark." Phil started.

"Phil! Come in!" Pepper smiled.

"Phil? His first name is Agent." Tony corrected her.

"Come on in, we're just celebrating!" Pepper ignored Tony.

"Which is why he can't stay." Tony interjected.

"We need you to look this over." Coulson held out a file for Tony.

"I don't like being handed things." Tony rolled his eyes.

"Well, that's fine because I love to be handed things! So, let's trade shall we?"

Pepper took the file from Coulson and gave him her wine before switching again with Tony and took his wine to give him the file in exchange.

"Official consulting hours are between eight and five every other Thursday." Tony told him.

"This isn't a consultation...this is much bigger than that." Coulson spoke grimly.

Pepper can tell that Phil is hiding something, but doesn't pry as she walks over to Tony. Tony's got projections of all the files right in front of him.

"Is this about the Avengers? Which I...don't know anything about..." Pepper smiled sheepishly.

"The Avengers Initiative was scrapped, I thought. And I didn't even qualify but my daughter did. That's just weird." Tony scoffed.

"I didn't know that either." Pepper chuckled.

"Yeah, apparently I'm volatile, self-obsessed, don't play well with others." Tony said.

"That I did know." Pepper smirked.

"This isn't about personality profiles anymore." Phil said.

"Miss Potts! Could you come over here?" Tony asked.

Pepper came over quickly already having a feeling what Tony was going to say.

"You know I thought we were having a moment..."

"I was having twelve percent of a moment." Pepper smartly replied. "This is serious, Phil seems pretty shaken. It looks like he's hiding something..."

"How did you notice? And why is he, Phil?" Tony pouted.

"What is all of this?" Pepper questioned.

She sighed and looked at how many files and videos there were about these different people.

"This is uh...profiles of people from what I'm gathering." Tony answered.

"I'm going to take the jet to D.C. tonight." Pepper decided.

"Tomorrow..." Tony argued.

"You've got homework...you've got a lot of homework..." Pepper groaned.

"Well, what if I didn't?" Tony asked.

"If you didn't? Well..."

Pepper smiles as she leans down to whisper into Tony's ear. Tony fails to hide the smile that forms on his face as if he was told something scandalous.

"Square deal. It's the last date." Tony winks.

As Pepper leaves, Tony holds the holographic projection of the Tesseract in his hands.

"Mr. Stark...there's also something else I should tell you..." Coulson seemed depressed. "Your daughter...was kidnapped."

Tony's eyes widened as he turns around slowly, looking for any signs in Coulson's expression that he was joking. After finding none, he clutches the edges of the table tightly and shuts his eyes tightly.

"Please...tell me you're kidding. Please." Tony begs.

"I wish I was...I'm so sorry." Phil mutters.

Finally, Tony openly glares at Coulson with tear filled eyes.

"Before I find Director Furious and kick his ass until it's purple, tell me what happened. Now."

Phil's taken back by surprise, never seen Tony Stark so serious before. He should have expected it given the circumstances now, but it still threw him for a loop.

"In the files, it explains that your daughter and Dr. Selvig were doing some work for SHIELD regarding that cube, called the Tesseract. Something's happened, an unidentified individual came out of a portal conjured by the Tesseract. We have no idea how it went downhill so fast." Phil sighs. "Tyra...she...Director Fury told me that she delayed the threat for as long as she could. But he got her."

Tony glances back at the profiles displayed around him.

"Okay...okay...so...just gotta focus. Gotta...fuck- -" Tony blinks away more tears. "I gotta find her."

"Stark, we're using every resource SHIELD has to locate your daughter. I promise you that we'll find her." Phil assures him.

FLASH!

When I stare into Steve Roger's eyes, I find myself at ease considering how warm they are. Before being Captain America, he was just a kid from Brooklyn, wanting to make a difference in the world and help out his country as best as he could.

"So...you're him." I mumbled softly.

Steve glances down at me and smiles.

"Yeah...I'm him."

"H- -how?" I stare at him with wide eyes.

"Another time, kid."

Steve connects his earpiece.

"I've got Agent Stark. Loki is subdued."

FLASH!

"Milady."

The blonde muscular dream boat kisses my hand gently. My face heats up drastically, and I find myself fumbling for words.

"...hi." I nearly squeak.

He looks at me in amusement, clearly used to this sort of reaction. I mentally scold myself and try not to embarrass myself further. I clear my throat and attempt to stand up tall.

"Nice to meet you...uh..."

"Thor Odinson." He tells me with a wink. "And you, young maiden?"

"Tyra Stark. Just call me Tyra." I bite my bottom lip.

FLASH!

"Wake up."

When I open my eyes, I expect to see Pepper or my father, but then I remember everything that happened. Loki looks down at me amusedly as I scramble as far away from him as I can on this bed that I was placed on. He sits down next to me, not even bothering to hold back a smirk as he senses my fear and anxiety.

"Sleep well, darling?" He asks.

I glare at him.

"Don't call me that." I grumble.

"I will do as I please. You forget to whom you speak to." Loki harshly replies. "Now, I have a question and it would do you well to answer truthfully. And do not bother lying to me."

I stare at him suspiciously as he moves closer to me.

"When I touched you, I had a vision. A vision that my plans come to fruition from what I can tell. So, I will ask you this once, what are you? You are no ordinary Midgardian. You are far much more than that. There's only one family that possesses the capabilities that you do."

"What are you talking about?" I look at him in confusion.

Loki glares at me, dissatisfied with this answer.

"You mean to tell me that you have no idea as to what I'm referring to?" He hisses at me.

So from what I understood, Loki was confirming my suspicions, that my 'dreams' held much more meaning than I initially thought.

It couldn't be coincidence at this point, and Loki seems to know more than I do about my 'visions'.

"Listen, I don't...I don't know, okay? So don't start on me about it- -"

"You knew who I was from the moment I arrived, didn't you?" Loki cut me off.

Loki's expression was now one of intrigue as a faint smile makes its way onto his face.

"You almost managed to get away with the Tesseract, and you almost managed to kill me before that structure collapsed. You knew what was to be." Loki stated. "You may have at first thought that these were mere dreams, but now...now you know these visions to be much more. You have such tremendous power, more than you realize. I can sense it."

I glance at the demigod in surprise, knowing that he was being, dare I say, sincere in his words. I didn't know what to make of Loki the trickster, the god of lies, he was definitely intriguing, but he was dangerous and I needed to get away from him.

But he knows...he understands...how is it possible? No...he's like a snake charmer, don't let him sway you with his words.

It was as if I felt almost lightheaded suddenly, but I knew this was Loki's doing.

"Stop it. Stop trying to get into my head." I closed my eyes tightly.

I feel a light feathery touch on my forehead, and open my eyes again to see Loki brushing my hair from my face. I feel so vulnerable underneath his stare, and just being in his presence.

"Do not fight it, Tyra."

"S- -stop it." I stutter.

Loki presses his thumb to my forehead and closes his eyes. Before I can fight him off, I'm in some kind of daze, as if I've been drugged. My vision begins to lose focus, and it's like I'm watching a fucked up episode of the Twilight Zone starring myself. I just want to run and hide from the world because whatever it is that Loki is doing to me, feels overwhelming.

"Do not be afraid, Tyra Stark. Let me in." Loki mumbles softly.

"No." I whimper. "Leave me alone."

On the Helicarrier...

"Gentleman." Fury greeted.

Steve Rogers looked around before giving Nick ten bucks.

"Doctor, thank you for coming." Fury came over to Bruce Banner and shook his hand.

"Thanks for asking nicely, so uh...how long am I staying?" Bruce asked.

"Once we get our hands on the Tesseract, you're in the clear." Nick replied.

"Where are you with that?" Bruce gave Nick a look of suspicion.

Nick turns to Agent Coulson for an answer and Agent Romanoff sits with him looking at a computer screen with an image of Clint Barton on it as well as searching for any signs of Loki, Clint, Tyra Stark, and Dr. Selvig.

"We're sweeping every wirelessly accessible camera on the planet. Cell phones, laptops. If it's connected to a satellite, it's eyes and ears for us." Coulson explained.

"You have to narrow the field. How many spectrometers do you have access to?" Bruce asked.

"How many are there?" Nick glances towards Coulson again.

"Call every lab you know, tell them to put the spectrometers on the roof and calibrate them for gamma rays. I'll rough out a tracking algorithm based on cluster recognition. At least we could rule out a few places. Do you have somewhere for me to work?" Bruce said.

"Agent Romanoff, would you show Dr. Banner to his laboratory please?" Fury asked Natasha.

"You're gonna love it, Doc. We've got all the cool toys." Natasha smirked.

Natasha walked with Bruce, trying to shake all of these thoughts involving Tyra. She was Tyra's mentor and considered a friend even. She admitted that she warmed up to the girl over time. She was first impressed with her when she hacked into SHIELD's database and managed to figure out her true identity.

And now Tyra was just gone...

She just hoped, they would be able to reach her and Clint in time.

Tyra's POV

It's hours later that I wake up in the isolated room again. This time, Loki's nowhere to be found. I cautiously open the door, surprised to find it unlocked. Outside is a makeshift lab, people scattered about and working diligently. I'm confused but realize that everyone here is also under Loki's control. Their eyes all a distinct blue-ish glow. Before I can conjure up a plan of escape, a hand clamps down on my shoulder as I'm discovered. I turn to see Clint, who looks down at me dangerously.

"Since Loki healed up your leg, you can get to work with Dr. Selvig." Clint told me.

I glance down at my leg in surprise, finally just remembering that Clint shot me before the collapse of the SHIELD base.

"Wait what?"

"I know you're far from stupid, Stark. You're working with Selvig, and I won't repeat myself." Clint lowered his voice dangerously.

"Clint, what the fuck is wrong with you?!" I shoved him away from me. "This isn't you!"

Before Clint can say or do anything else to me, Loki reappears and comes storming over to me.

"What the hell is that scepter of yours?! You can't just change people like this!" I glare at him.

Loki lets out a laugh before grabbing me by my hair and holding the scepter just above my chest. I struggle in his hold immediately, not wanting to be a mere puppet like everyone else around us.

"It would do you well to listen good, darling. I find you much too...endearing to allow you to share your friend's fates, however, that can change at anytime should you anger me. Do not test me, Tyra Stark." Loki warns.

I'm shaken to the core, but I try not to waver in front of Loki.

"Fuck you." My voice shakes.

Loki lets out a sigh, pausing for a minute before sending a very hard and powerful punch to my gut. He lets go of my hair as I crumble to the floor, breathing rapidly as I try to will away tears from the pure pain. I hold my arms around my belly and resist the urge to vomit all over the ground as I close my eyes tightly. Finally, Loki kneels on the floor, petting my hair and pulling it back from my face.

"You see what happens when you defy me in front of everyone? I don't enjoy hurting you, far from it, darling. You are capable of much Tyra Stark, but you need to learn to obey and listen. When I tell you to do something, you better do it or my punishments will be far worse. Do you understand?"

Loki stares at me with a serious and grim expression, and I know that he's not joking around.

"ANSWER ME!" Loki screams.

I'm startled by his shouting and whimper as I shake in my spot. I slowly nod at him, not wanting to anger the demigod any further. He grabs at my hair again and I cry out as he pulls my face closer to his, I can't look anywhere else but into his angry ice cold gaze.

"No. Verbally." Loki growls.

"Y- -yes. I understand." I barely utter.

I'm confused when his angered expression is gone, and replaced with something more, dare I say, warm. The grip on my hair lessens once again, and my head begins to hurt.

"I hate having to scare you so, sweetheart." Loki presses a kiss on my lips.

My eyes widen at the gentle and loving gesture, but I'm far too terrified to say anything and let him get away with it.

What the hell have I gotten myself into?

"No! Put it over there!" Selvig ordered other people.

Selvig came back over and put a hand on my shoulder.

"Have you seen the Tesseract? It's shown me so much." Selvig smiled.

"What do you mean?" I gave Selvig a look of confusion.

"If you gaze into the Tesseract. You'll know what I mean." Selvig led me over to the

Tesseract and kept his hands on my shoulders.

I did as Selvig instructed and looked closer at the Tesseract.

FLASH!

"Stark, you know that's a one way trip..."

"Spare me the details."

I saw dad flying with a nuclear missile and leading it into some huge portal. Dad flew inside the portal and was unable to hold onto the missile any longer. He was growing weak and his arc reactor on his chest plate was beginning to shut down.

My father was dying to save the planet.

Dad was falling, but he managed to make it out of the portal in time as the huge spaceship was being blown to smithereens by the nuclear missile.

FLASH!

I gasped for air looking around frantically.

"What the hell was that?" I breathed out.

"The Tesseract sure is something isn't it?" Selvig chuckled. "What did you see?"

I saw my dad dying to save the world.

Just what was Loki up to? Was he trying to bring some alien army to rule the Earth?

"I saw my dad." I tell him vaguely.

Selvig shrugs and drops it as we all started getting back to work again on our new CMS device. Clint started making our way over to us with a tablet in his hand.

"Where did you find all of these people?" Selvig asked Clint.

"SHIELD has no shortage of enemies, doctor." Clint answered.

Clint then holds up the tablet and shows us an image of iridium.

"Is this the stuff you need?" Clint asked us.

"Yeah..." I confirmed.

I can't believe I'm being forced to help them make this device to take over the planet. I have to stop this somehow...

"Yeah, it's iridium. It's found in meteorites, it forms anti-protons. It's very hard to get ahold of." Selvig added.

"Especially if SHIELD knows you need it." Clint sighed.

"Well I didn't know!" Selvig snapped.

I freeze when I see Loki once again return to us to check on our progress.

"Hey! The Tesseract is showing me so much. It's more than just knowledge...it's truth." Selvig smiled appreciatively at Loki.

"I know. What did it show you Agent Barton?" Loki glanced over at Clint.

"My next target." Clint got out his bow.

"Tell me what you need." Loki said.

"I'll need a distraction...and an eyeball."
