I finally finished with the Avengers! I'm not sure if I like the action scenes, I suck at writing those...sorry about that...but I finally finished! So I'm happy! I hope you like it! Enjoy!
After my talk with Steve, I feel as if I'm on autopilot when I go to a nearby bathroom. My hands continuously shake as I rinse my hands and splash my face with water, still picturing Phil's blood on me fairly recently. I pull up my sleeve and see the scar of Loki's name etched into my skin. While Steve's words were true, the guilt I felt would weigh down on me for a long time, and nothing could change that.
But there's still time to change things...to stop Loki.
I fix my appearance one more time, giving myself a once over before I find a renewed determination and head out. My first thought is to go find Loki and stop him before the portal opens. So I start heading down to find my father in a lab, fixing his own suit.
"I need a suit. You brought an extra one, right?" I ask hopefully.
Dad wipes sweat off of his forehead and nods, retrieving a red suitcase and handing it over to me.
"Don't put it on until we're ready to go." Dad said.
I wasn't about to wait for everyone. Not while I was ready to do something. I ignore the tingling sensation from my throat as I talk to my dad.
"I'm not waiting around, if I can delay Selvig and Loki before they open the portal, I'm taking that chance." I told him.
"Out of the question, kid." He continued to tinker with his suit.
"You're kidding right? Why the hell not?" I glared at him.
"I'm not risking it! I don't know what would happen if you got hurt again! Or even worse! I've almost lost you more times than I can count and I'm not going to let it happen again!" Dad argued.
"It's too late to be feeling guilt by now, dad. Shit happens. I've kept myself alive so far- -"
"What the hell are you trying to prove?! Is this play time for you?!" He grew angry.
"What?! NO!" I scoffed.
"Tyra, going alone is basically suicide! This is not up for debate!" He glared at me.
"I know about that fucking CMS machine as much as Selvig does! I have to make sure that thing doesn't run!"
"You're fucking serious- -"
"Do you understand what's at stake here?! This isn't about you or me! I'm doing this to ensure the safety of New York City as well as the world! I'm doing this to make sure Phil Coulson didn't die in vain! I'm doing this because I know what Loki is capable of and I don't want him to hurt anyone else like he did to me!" I shouted angrily. "I know I'm your daughter, and you have every right to be concerned, but we don't have time for this!"
Dad tosses the damaged helmet aside angrily and looks at me with tears brimming in his eyes.
"Tyra, you don't understand. Unless you become a parent, you honestly don't understand how I feel about any of this."
I fall silent and stare at him in shock.
"You're my world, Tyra. You and Pepper, Rhodey and Happy, you guys are all that matter to me. I barely managed to pull myself together when I heard you were kidnapped, and I...I almost lost it when Phil told me. I can't condone this, you going off on your own to face Loki- -and it's not about you being a kid, because I know you've grown up a lot. You're my daughter, and I...I just- -"
"Okay..." I mumbled softly. "I get it."
"So...you'll stay?"
"I never said that. But just so you know, that's exactly how I felt when you were kidnapped in Afghanistan. You're my world too you know. That's the main reason why I'm doing this. It'd be cool to have your support though." I smiled faintly at him.
I start walking away with the suitcase, but stop at the door when he shouts my name.
"Please be careful. That's all I ask. I'll be there as soon as I'm able."
I glance back at him and give him a small wink.
"Will do, old man."
I suit up before going to the infirmary, knowing Clint was finally rescued by Natasha during the attack on the Helicarrier. I wanted to see how he was doing, knowing he must have had the most difficult time of all being under Loki's control and everything. I give a gentle knock to the door before coming in, seeing him lying on a cot with Natasha at his side.
"I thought I'd see how you were doing...I'm glad you're back." I spoke up.
Clint sits up quickly when he sees me, the look on his face extremely saddening when I see how much regret is on his expression.
"I am so sorry, Tyra. I didn't hurt you did I?" Clint apologized.
"Not...not really." I stammered.
"You hesitated...Tyra...what did I do to you?" Clint questioned worriedly.
"Clint, you need to stop that bullshit right now. That wasn't you and it never was. So don't hold onto that guilt. It'll eat away at you." I frowned.
I put the helmet on, and pulled back the facepiece.
"Where are you going?" Natasha asked.
"I don't have much time to explain, but I'm going to stop Selvig if I can. Dad brought some extra armor, so I'll be able to get there faster. I think Steve should be here at any moment...I thought I saw him coming over here." I told them.
"Tyra, you can't go alone! You'll get yourself killed!" Clint objected.
"I've dealt with Loki before...I think I can do it just one more time." My voice shook.
"Clint's right, going alone is a bad idea, Tyra." Natasha gave me a stern look.
"I honestly don't care." I shook my head frantically. "I need to stop Loki, and stop Selvig before he opens that portal."
Before Natasha or Clint can speak up again, I hold up my hand to stop them.
"You can save me the lecture, but this is something I need to do. I've already argued with my old man about this and I'm already scared enough as it is."
"Then why?" Natasha looks at me worriedly.
"Because I won't be able to forgive myself if I don't stop Loki or at the very least try. If that portal opens, we're all screwed." I blink away tears.
"Fuck, what did he do to you kid?" Clint blurts out.
"I- -I can't talk about that right now." I stuttered. "I just...I w- -wanted to check in on you two before I left."
Natasha and Clint share a look of concern before glancing at me.
"Just...be careful. Please. Remember everything that we've taught you. Don't give your enemy the opportunity to strike." Natasha warns.
I nod before gathering the strength to walk out.
It takes me a good half hour to get to New York, and when I get to Stark Towers, I spot Selvig on the rooftop. I see him run around frantically as he makes last minute adjustments to the CMS machine. I knew this wasn't the real Selvig, but I had to treat him as an enemy in the meantime.
"Put your hands up where I can see them, Dr. Selvig!" I yelled.
Selvig stiffened up and slowly stopped what he was doing. The face piece of the helmet pulled back and he was surprised to see that it was me.
"I thought you were one of us." Selvig muttered.
"You thought wrong, Dr. Selvig." I merely replied. "Just stop this before you can't turn back from it! I care about you and you're like family to me, but I won't hesitate to stop you!
"I thought...I thought you would be supporting me. You always said that you believed in me, that you didn't think I was crazy! Was that all a lie?!" Selvig shouted angrily.
I stopped and lowered my arms, staring at Selvig in surprise.
"Of course I didn't lie to you. I will always believe in you just as you have believed in me Selvig...that will never change. Loki is influencing your mind though! He's the one that's making you think that creating this portal is a good thing, but it's not! Loki is a madman, Selvig! You've gotta fight it! You're an intelligent man and I know for a fact that you can fight Loki's control! Clint did it and I know that you can too!" I said.
Selvig now seemed conflicted and unsure of what to do. I could have sworn that I saw something twinkle and sparkle in Selvig's eyes. He might have been fighting Loki, but I couldn't truly tell.
"You can do it Selvig. I know you can." I smiled at him. "Just focus on me alright? Just fight- -"
I felt something grab my arm and throw me like a rag doll across the rooftop. I pick myself up quickly and see Loki coming towards me with an angered look on his face.
"You almost managed to stop me...the doctor almost broke free of my clutches, but alas, you have failed. Those visions I saw...they were most insightful. I'm not sure whether to spare you or not for this knowledge after I take over Midgard. Perhaps I can use more insight to see what shall happen next." Loki smirked.
Finally, I grow tired of all the bullshit and raise my hands. Loki pauses and stares at me in amusement, and I can tell he knows that there's a change in my behavior.
"I'm not letting you use me again, Loki. That much I am certain of. If you know what's good for you, back up. You're in my turf now." I spoke confidently.
Loki stood still as I walked over to the mini bar and pour myself a shot glass full of vodka before downing it quickly.
I might not survive this, but I can at least have one more drink for the road right?
"Would you like one?" I asked.
Loki seems almost confused as he tries analyzing me for clues, and I keep my face completely neutral.
"You are offering me a drink? Why is that?" Loki folded his arms.
"It's rude to refuse your host, isn't it? You're in my humble abode. Just thought we could use the drink before we go any further." I merely reply.
Loki gives me a small glare, but doesn't move.
"Your stalling is quite fruitless, Tyra. You might as well quit while you're ahead." Loki spits out.
I make a bluff, but keep my 'poker face' on as I glance back over at Loki after having another drink.
"You're going to lose, you know."
Loki stills almost completely, before his entire expression just irradiates pure anger.
"And how would you know that?" He growls.
"Because I saw it happen." I told him. "I figured I could warn you, let you leave while you have the chance, to fight another day. It's not too late."
"Oh, and you would do that for me?" He sarcastically replies.
"I know it's hard to believe, but yes. Because as much as I absolutely hate you, I don't want to stoop down to your level and kill you. You know, like you've already done to so many of my fellow SHIELD agents and comrades." I retort.
"How courteous of you." He scoffs. "As if I'd let you kill me."
"I didn't say I was going to. But believe me when I say I am awfully tempted." I reply grimly.
Finally, Loki moves forward, and I hold the vodka bottle tightly as I contemplate my next move.
"You will all kneel before me, or perish." Loki hisses.
"I would, but I have a bad aching in my knees right now." I sarcastically quip.
Thinking quickly, I throw the bottle up as my facepiece comes back on. Loki throws his arms up defensively as if the bottle is going to hit him, but I fire at the bottle with a repulsor beam. Liquid and glass fly everywhere, and finally, I fly at Loki while he's temporarily distracted. I tackle him to the ground throwing punches at him with my armored hands, but he manages to get out of my hold before summoning multiple illusions of himself. They surround me and get ready to attack.
"You really think you can stop me?!" All Loki's question.
"Well if I don't, I know six other people that will." I smirk from underneath my helmet.
Finally, I fire a steady beam from my hands, and spin around to take out all of the illusions at the same time. I fire more repulsor blasts at the real Loki after his illusions are gone, and he narrowly dodges them. Finally, he fires a wave of magic at me, and I fall back to the floor with a crash. Another wave of his hand, and I'm being completely weighed down by the armor and effectively pinned to the floor. As Loki storms over to me, I panic and use the emergency protocol to have to armor open up. Just in time, I do a backflip out of the armor just as Loki strikes down with the scepter. and destroys major components of the amor in one blow.
"JARVIS! Play some music would ya?!" I order.
"Of course madam, although I don't think it would be wise at this moment." JARVIS replies.
In seconds, Loki's hissing and covering his ears as Barry White's, "My First, My Last, My Everything" booms throughout the room very loudly. I take the time to run and hide behind the bar, looking for just about anything to use as a weapon.
~OOOoohhhh my first, my last, my everything!
And the answer to all my dreams~
I grab another bottle of wine, rolling my eyes at the song blasting throughout the speakers. I come out with two bottles of wine, throwing one of them at him as I break the other one over the countertop to create a jagged blade out of glass to stab him with. I run at him as he's stunned and he recovers just in time to catch me as we fall to the floor together. He quickly grabs ahold of my arm before I can stab him with the broken glass bottle.
~You're my sun, my moon, my guiding star!
My kind of wonderful, that's what you are!~
Loki gives me a heated look and smirks from below me.
"I rather like our position, don't you darling?" Loki purrs.
"Oh shut the fuck up!" I glare down at him.
~I know there's only, only one like you!
Theeeere's no way, they could have made two!~
Loki wraps his legs around my waist, and my eyes widen as he flips us over until he's the one on top of me. He grabs the broken glass bottle from my hand and chucks it away from me. I throw a punch to his face and see his nose bleeding before he growls angrily and throws a punch to my face as well. When I dazedly look up at him after the punch stuns me, I see him licking blood from his upper lip and staring down at me with an unreadable expression.
~Girl, you're all I'm living for!
Your love I'll keep for evermore!~
"An interesting song you've chosen to play." Loki smirks.
"I didn't choose it!" Spit at him.
Loki glares at me as he wipes my bloody spit from his cheek, and has a hand around my neck before he squeezes tightly. He lowers his face towards mine, our lips hovering just above each other as I struggle beneath him.
"Let her go, Loki!" A familiar voice yelled.
The music stops abruptly and I can hear myself think again as I remain pinned to the floor. Loki smirks once again as he lifts me up with him from the floor, staring at my dad with an amused expression.
Wait...why is he taking the armor off?!
"Please tell me you're going to appeal to my humanity." Loki sighed.
"Uh...actually, I plan to threaten you." Tony informed him.
"You should have kept your armor on for that." Loki pointed out.
"Yeah, it's seen a bit of mileage. You've got the blue stick of destiny...would you like a drink?" Tony then asked.
Loki gently squeezes my neck some more as he holds me against him, looking down at me as he replies.
"Your daughter already offered me a beverage...no thank you." Loki smiled. "Stalling me also won't change anything. I've already proven that to Tyra here..."
Jerk.
"No, no, no! Threatening!" Tony chuckled. "No drink? You sure? I'm having one."
Dad poured a glass of scotch and leans over the counter as he nurses his drink in hand.
"The Chitauri are coming, nothing will change that. What have I to fear?" Loki asked.
"The Avengers." Tony replied.
Loki appeared confused before my dad clarified.
"It's what we call ourselves, Earth's Mightiest Heroes type of thing..." He explained.
"Yes, I've met them." Loki replied.
Tony smiled and still continued to mix his drink.
"Yeah, takes us awhile to get any traction, I'll give you that one."
He paused as he began leaning against the mini bar.
"But let's do a head count here. Your brother, the demigod; a super soldier, a living legend who kind of lives up to the legend; a man with breathtaking anger management issues; a couple of master assassins; a young intelligent woman who is practically a spitting image of her old man, and you, big fella, you've managed to piss of every single one of them."
Dad came from behind the mini bar and took a sip of his drink as he made his way over to us. I felt Loki lower me until my feet were planted firmly on the ground.
"That was the plan." Loki smiled smugly.
"Not a great plan...when they come, and they will, they'll come for you."
I glanced down and saw that dad had on a bracelet that I knew wasn't there before.
Was that...the newest version of his armor? I recall that he asked me to help him with it...it signals the armor over.
I glanced down at his other hand, noticing another bracelet he held.
I take it that one is for me?
"I have an army." Loki told him.
"We have a Hulk." Dad countered.
"I thought the beast had wondered off." Loki raised an eyebrow.
"You're missing the point. There's no throne, there's no version of this where you come out on top! Maybe your army comes and maybe it's too much for us, but it's all on you. Because if we can't protect the Earth, then you can be damn well sure we'll avenge it."
I was immediately reminded of the vision, knowing this all seemed familiar.
Loki was going to attack dad, and possibly kill him.
"How will your friends have time for me, when they're so busy fighting you?" Loki raised his scepter.
Loki pressed the scepter onto dad's chest and heard a cling. I sighed in relief.
His arc reactor...oh thank god...
Loki tries again, but the same thing happens.
"This should work..." Loki appeared confused.
"Well, performance issues, you know?" Tony joked.
Loki releases me and grabs dad's throat before throwing him across the room. I noticed that dad dropped the other bracelet and it just remained on the floor at my feet. I quickly made a grab for it and attached the bracelet onto my wrist.
"You will all fall before me!" Loki hissed.
This time Loki threw dad out of the window. I gasp and hold my hand over my mouth thinking that my father is going to die.
No, he's gonna be okay. He's got the bracelet, probably already activated the armor.
"I told you that you would die like your father did I not?" Loki glanced over at me.
I can't help but be smug at this point.
"We'll see about that. Like I said, you're on our turf. Things won't go your way." I smirk.
Before Loki can get another word in, a huge metal pod flew out of the broken window and at my father's direction.
So his newest design for the armor worked after all. Good job, dad.
In mere seconds, Iron Man was hovering right outside the broken window.
"And there's one other person you pissed off. His name was Phil." Iron Man said.
I can't help but smile at dad and nod at him gratefully.
You get 'em dad...
Dad shot a repulsor beam at Loki and we both heard a noise that made us both wince.
The portal had finally opened.
"Oh right...army..." I mumbled. "JARVIS! Get another suit over here! NOW!" I yelled.
I ran outside and jumped off the building with dad practically screaming my name. The bracelet signaled the armor and I felt the armor form around me as well. By the time the portal is fully open and unknown alien creatures are flying out, I'm hovering in the air right next to my dad. We both glance at each other, and get ready to take off.
HOLY SHIT! There's a lot of them!
"You go left and I'll go right?" I asked.
"Let's kick some ass baby girl." Dad said.
With that being said, we sprung into action.
"SHIT SNACKS!" I screamed.
Note to self: Stop watching Archer...
"Stark, we're heading north east!"
Natasha? Oh thank god!
"Where the hell have you guys been?! Did you stop for drive through or something?! You guys sure took your sweet time getting over here!" I yelled.
"Sorry, Tyra." Clint said.
"Swing up PARK, I'm gonna lay 'em out for you." Tony spoke up.
I blasted a bunch of missiles at more Chitauri coming out of the portal above and flew off before I would get hit by falling debris. I gasped at the tingling sensation in my head and my chest.
FLASH!
"Stark, you hearing me?! We have a missile heading straight for the city!" Nick Fury yelled into his ear piece.
"How long?" Tony asked.
"Three minutes, at best. Stay low and wipe out the missile!" Fury ordered.
FLASH!
"Stark, you know that's a one-way trip?" Steve asked.
"Save the rest for return, J." Tony replied.
"Sir, shall I try Miss Potts?" JARVIS asked Tony.
"Might as well..." Tony muttered.
JARVIS dialed Pepper's number, as Tony flew off with the missile, into the portal.
FLASH!
Hulk managed to catch Iron Man in time and tossed him aside as they landed safely. Thor ripped off the face piece and I felt my heart hammer in my chest. Dad wasn't breathing and his arc reactor was no longer glowing.
He was...dead wasn't he?
"Dad...don't leave me...please..." I murmured softly.
Thor seemed upset.
"He's not breathing!" Thor yelled.
Steve put a hand on my shoulder and slowly pulled me in for a hug as I felt tears stinging in my eyes. Hulk looked furious and literally roared.
FLASH!
"LADY TYRA!"
I felt myself being pulled around the waist while falling in the air. Thor had managed to tackle me and we both fell onto a roof.
"Lady Stark! Are you alright?! Answer me!" Thor looked worried.
Seriously? Another vision WHILE I'm fighting an alien army?! What the hell dude?!
I pulled back the facepiece to the helmet and gasped for air.
"I- -I'm fine! Thanks Thor!" I breathed out.
"What happened?" Thor asked.
"I basically had another vision about this battle..."
I managed to stand up and glanced around in horror when I saw the army swarming the city.
"Shit...I really screwed up didn't I?" I sighed.
"What do you mean, Lady Stark?" Thor seemed confused.
"I could have stopped Selvig, I could have prevented this...Loki got me before I could though..." I sighed.
"Do not dwell on the past Lady Stark for you are not at fault. We must focus on the battle at hand here. We can still end this fight and defeat the Chitauri." Thor assured me.
"Alright...got it." I smiled at Thor and my face piece came back on.
"Stark, are you seeing this?!" Cap yelled through his ear piece.
"I'm seeing, still working on believing. Where's Banner? Has he shown up yet?" Tony asked.
"He should be here any minute." I spoke up.
"How do you know?" Dad asked.
"After everything that's happened, you're still asking me how I know?" I chuckled.
Thor and I left to find the others who were battling more Chitauri soldiers. Thor summoned lighting and practically lit those bastards up on fire as we landed near Cap and everyone else.
"What's the story upstairs?" Cap asked.
"The power surrounding the cube is impenetrable." Thor informed him.
"Thor's right. We've gotta deal with these guys!" Iron Man said through his ear piece.
"How do we do this?" Black Widow asked.
"As a team." I spoke up.
"I have unfinished business with Loki." Thor told us.
"Yeah? Get in line." Hawkeye grumbled as he fixed an arrow.
"Save it. Loki's gonna keep this fight on us and that's what we need. Without him these things could run wild. We got Tony and Tyra up top. They're both gonna need us." Cap said.
True enough...did they really expect dad and I to just handle that on our own?
I heard a motorcycle nearby and saw it come to a stop. Bruce steps off and smiles at us meekly.
"So, this all seems horrible..." Bruce mumbled.
Weird timing...
"I've seen worse." Natasha replied.
"Sorry..." Bruce averted his eyes.
"No, we could use a little worse." Natasha smiled at him.
"Stark? We got him." Cap informed Iron Man.
"Banner?" He asked.
"Just like Tyra said." Cap added.
"Then tell him to suit up. I'm bringing the party to you!" Tony said.
A Chitauri Leviathan follows Iron Man around the corner of a building. My jaw nearly dropped.
WHAT THE FUCK?! THAT THING IS GIGANTIC!
"I...I don't see how that's a party..." Natasha muttered.
Well said Natasha...well said...
"You've gotta be fucking kidding me..." I grumbled.
I began hovering a few feet above the ground getting ready to charge at this huge monster that was about to kill us all.
"Dr. Banner, now might be a really good time for you to get angry." Steve spoke up.
"That's my secret, Captain...I'm always angry."
That makes literally no sense at all, but he looks pretty badass right now, so I won't even question it...
I got goosebumps as Bruce turned around while quickly changing into the Hulk. Hulk punched the huge Chitauri Leviathan within seconds causing it to fall down in our direction. Quickly thinking, I then shot mini missiles at it, so that the explosion's impact would cause the huge beast to fall in the other direction instead. I was thankful that it worked out fine. We all glanced up at the sky again to see even more Chitauri coming out of the portal.
"Call it Cap." I told him
"Alright, listen up. Until we can close that portal up there, we're gonna use containment. Barton, I want you on that roof, eyes on everything. Call out patterns and strays. Stark, you and Tyra got the perimeter. Anything gets out more than three blocks out, you both turn it back or turn it to ash." Cap ordered us.
"Can I get a lift?" Clint looked at me and dad.
"Alright, better clench up, Legolas." Tony joked.
He grabbed onto Clint and flew off to the roof that Cap wanted him on.
"JARVIS, I'm gonna need you to be my eyes and ears okay?" I asked the AI.
"Of course, Miss Stark. I am always happy to assist you." JARVIS replies.
I put my facepiece back on, giving everyone a thumbs up before flying off and following Cap's orders.
This battle was intense, but none of this was gonna mean a damn thing if we couldn't shut down that portal sooner or later.
I had to do something...like find out about that nuke...
"Stark! You've got a tail!" Clint yelled into his ear piece.
"Which Stark are you referring to, Clint?" I chuckled.
"YOU!"
My eyes widened and I took a quick glance behind me. Clint was right indeed.
"What the hell JARVIS? I told you to be my eyes and ears!" I shouted.
"I humbly apologize, Miss Stark. It won't get past my sensors again I assure you."
"Sorry for snapping at you, buddy." I sighed.
"You are currently under a lot of stress, madam, I believe it is warranted in this case."
I can't help but chuckle at that, and move quickly to aim at the Chitauri behind me. I fire a missile that breaks off into smaller explosive missiles that help hit the other targets behind me. When I see that they're dealt with, I find a child and his mother running for their lives in downtown New York. I fly after them when I notice Chitauri firing their weapons at them. I jump down and land on one of the Chitauri, hearing it die with a sickening crunch under the armor's weight. Then a I fire a repulsor beam at the other, and effectively kill it.
"Oh my gosh! It's Iron Man!" The boy smiled.
I pulled back my face piece.
"Actually, I'm the so-called Iron Woman." I joked.
I looked over at the mother. She looks at me with fear in her eyes and holds her son closer towards her.
"There's a police force right after you turn this corner. They'll get you two to safety." I told her.
"Could you carry us there?!" The boy jumped excitedly.
"Sorry kiddo, I've got New York to save."
I smiled sadly at him and ruffled his hair up playfully.
"I'd get moving. Stay safe you two! You should be clear to go!"
I flew off once again, and intercept the incoming transmission from Fury meant for just my father.
"Stark, you hearing me?! We have a missile heading straight for the city!" Nick Fury yelled.
"How long?" Tony asked.
"Three minutes, at best. Stay low and wipe out the missile!" Fury ordered.
My breath hitched and my heart nearly skipped a beat.
My vision was coming true...I had to stop dad or else he really was going to die.
"JARVIS! Put everything, and I mean EVERYTHING into the thrusters!" I yelled.
"I've already done so for you, Miss Stark." JARVIS replied.
I located the missile and beat dad to it knowing that I was closer to its location than he was.
"I can close it! Can anybody hear me?! I can shut the portal down!" Natasha spoke up.
"DO IT!" Steve ordered.
"No, wait!" I cut him off.
"Stark, these things are still coming!"
"Well Fury said there's a nuke coming in less than a minute!" I told him. "And I know just where to put it..."
"Tyra! Don't do what I think you're about to do!" Dad sounded furious. "Just wait for me! I'll do it!"
"Tyra...you know that's a one-way trip..." Steve mumbled.
"I know it is..." I sighed.
I found the missile and started using all of the arc reactors energy inside the armor to help me carry the missile into the portal.
Shit...this is it.
"Guys...if I don't make it...I love you." I blurted out.
"TYRA! NO!" Dad shouts fearfully.
I graze the rooftop of Stark Towers and finally got inside the portal, unknown as to what was on the other side. My eyes widened as I stare ahead at the enormous space ship currently in front of me and let go of the nuclear missile in shock.
JESUS CHRIST! THAT THING IS HUGE!
As I float down in space, the only I can see is the explosion of the mothership, along with the armies of Chitauri being blown to smithereens. I don't even realize I'm losing oxygen until I look at the errors in the holographic screening inside the helmet and how the armor actually shuts off. I slowly lose air, actually afraid for once in my life as I'm gasping for my last breath.
"Son of a gun...she did it." Steve stared at Tyra.
"She's not stopping!" Thor grew worried.
Thor was prepared to go up and catch the younger Stark, but before he could, Hulk jumped over and grabbed onto Tyra, catching her as they both fell to the ground. After several seconds of catching his breath, Hulk gently put her on the ground. Thor and Steve stormed over in a hurry and share a glance before Thor rips off the face piece to the helmet. That's when Iron Man arrives, running over to them in a hurry and over to Tyra. He quickly detaches his helmet and tosses it to the side, before finding the hatch to remove her helmet as well. Everyone can see the fear in Tony Stark's eyes when he looks down at his unmoving daughter.
"She's not breathing!" Thor yelled.
"Tyra..." Tony muttered.
Tony doesn't know how to react as he gently caresses Tyra's face, before moving to hold her in his arms. Even more surprising, Hulk looks almost completely angered that the youngest Avenger was gone and lets out a very loud roar that shook the area. Suddenly, as if by a miracle, Tyra's eyes suddenly fly open, and she's gasping for air.
"Holy fuck." Tyra gasped.
"Son of a gun..." Steve muttered in surprise.
Tony gently lays his daughter down again as he can't help but smile down at her happily.
"Hulk's roar must have restarted her heart or something..." Dad muttered.
"What the hell?!" Tyra looked around frantically. "Please tell me nobody kissed me...oh god...my chest hurts..." She whined.
"We won..." Steve realized.
"Yaaaaay...that's just fan-fucking-tastic." She cheered weakly. "Well now that this damn fight is over, let's go get Loki. I owe him a punch to the dick."
Everyone can't help but let out a laugh at this, the air feeling lighter around them as they observe Tyra.
"Are you sure you don't wanna sit this out?" Tony asked.
"I told Loki he was gonna lose this battle and that I would be there to tell him that I told him so." She smirked.
"Let's just take a day off after this okay? There's this shawarma joint that I wanna go to about two blocks from here. I don't know what it is, but I wanna try it." Tony added.
"Alright, shawarma after..." She chuckled.
Later the following day, after overseeing Loki's capture ourselves, we retrieve the Tesseract and hand it to Thor in a case specially designed to contain it. None of us even hesitated in giving Thor the Tesseract considering its capabilities, because in the end, the Tesseract belonged to the people of Asgard. It's been a good two hours since we finally got out of our gear as well as had shawarma together, and it was amazing to have a shower for the first time in days since my kidnapping. Currently, we stand in a secure and abandoned location as we wait for Thor to take off with Loki and say our final goodbyes to the god of thunder. Loki stands next to Thor all chained up and with a muzzle over his mouth. I would have felt satisfied, but for some reason...I actually felt bad for whatever awaited Loki on Asgard.
I shouldn't feel guilty...I can't...not after everything he's done.
As Thor grabs the case for the Tesseract, he holds out the other end for Loki. Loki rolls his eyes and grabs the handle it before they both turned each end of the case which sent them back to Asgard through the Tesseract's power. From the corner of my eye, I see Natasha whisper something into Clint's ear while he cracked a small smile. Before I knew it, we were all leaving in different directions and going our separate ways. However, I just remained in my spot staring at where Loki once stood. It was all so difficult to believe that it was finally over, that Loki was finally gone, that we defeated the Chitauri...
I can't believe it...
I'm brought out of my thoughts when a hand touches my shoulder gently, and I glance to see Steve giving me a small smile.
"Are you alright?" Steve asked.
"I will be..." I mumbled softly.
When I glance over at my father talking with Bruce at his sports car, I can't help but be reminded of earlier.
"Something on your mind?"
"Don't tell my dad, and I mean never tell my dad I said this, but...he was the one that was supposed to go through that portal. I'm pretty sure I saw him die and I...I couldn't let that happen...so I had JARVIS alert me to any transmissions on the comm directed to my father. Then I heard Fury tell him about the nuke and then from there...it felt like I was in a dream." I confessed.
Steve looks back at me in complete surprise, now knowing why I'm looking in my dad's direction so sadly.
"I'm sorry for kinda just throwing it out there but...I felt like I had to tell someone." I muttered.
"It's...it's okay." Steve merely says. "Your secret's safe with me."
When Steve squeezes my shoulder gently, I start hugging myself out of habit, something I usually did when I felt down.
"Do you wanna maybe get something? I know we just had that shawarma and I'm not even that hungry but...there's a 50's themed restaurant that has these great milkshakes..." I stammered. "W- -Wait! I'm sorry, I'm probably being insensitive to you- -"
"Tyra. It's fine." Steve chuckles. "I'd be happy to go with you."
"Really?" I find myself smiling at him.
"You mind if we take my motorcycle? You can give me directions since I don't know New York like I used to."
When I see Steve's old motorcycle, I practically have the urge to go pet it like it's an animal.
"Man...what a beauty. I'd love to just...take it apart and put back together all over again." I stare at it in awe.
"You know your way around motorcycles?" Steve looks at me in surprise.
"Motorcycles, cars...you name it. Me and my dad used to tinker with that shit all the time." I laughed.
I follow Steve to his motorcycle eagerly and grab a helmet from him when he retrieves it.
"Hold it right there, young lady. Where do you think you're going?"
Oh please... don't act like this...not now...
I see my dad approach us with his arms folded, giving Steve a suspicious look as I blush from behind him.
"We're just going to have milkshakes." I playfully roll my eyes.
"You're going to eat with Star-Spangled Banner here? Tyra...I thought you knew better." He teased.
I can't help but give Steve an apologetic look as he blushes and averts his gaze from my father.
"Well at least I'm not all googlie-eyed with Dr. Banner. That bromance is making me sick." I retorted.
"Hey! He knows how to have a fun time at least!" Dad argued.
"You're just happy that he has an I.Q. like yours! If Bruce was a woman, you'd be all over him!" I laughed.
"I have Pepper, you goober!" He blushes.
"Well I'll be back later! Don't do anything I wouldn't approve of!" I taunted him.
"It's not like that!" Dad yelled in embarrassment.
He ran back to his sports car without another word, knowing I won this battle. Steve and I got on his Harley and took off after I gave him directions.
FINALLY FINISHED! I had SO much fun writing this! Let me know what you think! But be nice please! ^-^
