Raw: January 30, 2012
Randy walks into our locker-room. "I have a match tonight. Guess who it's against."
I smile. "Based on the look on your face, I'm going with Dolph Ziggler."
"You're correct."
I laugh. "Of course I am. Is this your way of telling me to come kick Vickie's ass when she tries to distract you?"
"It might be."
"Good because I don't have anything to do tonight."
"Really? That's surprising."
"No, it's not. This is the show that John Laurinaitis runs, Randy."
"Fair enough. Is there a Divas match tonight?"
"Eve actually has a Divas Championship match against Beth tonight."
"Is she going alone?"
I shrug. "She wanted to. I get it. I'm not gonna stop her. I'll just bug you."
"I don't think it's bugging me when I enjoy you being around."
"Oh. Well, you better enjoy being stuck with me tonight."
"I missed having you manage me. I'm glad you get to help me out tonight."
"Me too."
"I'm not trying to be an asshole, but why is Eve getting the Divas Championship match tonight? You pinned Beth last night."
I shrug. "Did you really think John Laurinaitis was going to make me a Divas Championship match on my first Raw back? I may have pinned Beth, but John Laurinaitis doesn't like me. Which is mutual on my end."
"That may be the case, but it doesn't mean you shouldn't get an opportunity."
"To get an opportunity, I'm going to have to go elsewhere for someone to grant it."
"Teddy Long?"
"Probably. I just know it isn't going to be John Laurinaitis."
"You did pin Beth last night though, so nobody can argue that you don't deserve an opportunity."
"I know I deserve another opportunity against Beth. I'll just have to figure where and when to get it."
"I think you should go to Teddy Long about it tomorrow at the SmackDown filming. You earned it, Rissa. It's not you using bias or anything. You pinned Beth clean."
"You're right, Randy. I did pin Beth clean and should get the opportunity that I rightfully deserve. What if I win though?"
"What if you win? That's a good thing."
"We're supposed to consider trying to conceive again after WrestleMania. What if I beat Beth and am still champion?"
"If you are the Divas Champion after WrestleMania, then we'll wait to start to try for a baby again."
"Okay. I guess that works."
"Stop worrying, Rissa. Things will happen the way they're supposed to."
"You're right, Randy. Let's just worry about Dolph Ziggler and Vickie Guerrero for now."
Ryse looks at me as she hangs out in the locker-room with me. "So you're just managing tonight?"
"That's all." I reply. "Does this outfit look good?"
"Yeah, it's your new t-shirt, skinny jeans, and a leather jacket. It works for managing."
"Okay. What shoes should I wear?"
"Just a pair of simple heels or something along that line. How have you been holding up?"
"What do you mean?"
"Rissa, someone broke into your house a few weeks ago. You can't tell me that you're fully over it already."
I sigh. "I'm not over it. I just act like I am. It was a scary experience. I don't think Randy believes me when I say that I'm over it. He doesn't leave me alone at the house. He's always there with me now. You're the only person to straight up say that I can't be fully over it."
Ryse shrugs. "I'm an honest person. I'm just worried about you. Have you taken any extra house safety precautions?"
"Randy and I have discussed a few things, but we haven't actually done anything."
"You might want to consider it."
"I know. We just haven't quite figured out what we're gonna do yet."
"Okay. At least be thinking about it."
"Trust me, Ryse, I am. You go home after SmackDown, right?"
Ryse rolls her eyes. "Yes, I do. I'll shut up about it now."
"Thanks."
I look at Randy as we stand together. "So…you want me to stay back here until she tries to get involved?"
Randy nods. "That is correct, Rissa. Let them think that they can pull one over on me, but you can crush all of their hope for it. Plus, it'll make your return to being my manager at times all the more special."
"I see your point. Go kick some ass."
Randy kisses my cheek quickly before he has to make his entrance. "Gladly."
I hear voices in my head
They council me
They understand
They talk to me…
"The following contest is scheduled for one fall! Introducing first from Saint Louis, Missouri, weighing in at 245 pounds, he is the Apex Predator, Randy Orton!"
I'm here to show the world
I'm here to show the world
Come on
Bring it on…
"And his opponent, being accompanied to the ring by Vickie Guerrero, from Hollywood, Florida, Dolph Ziggler!"
Ding! Ding! Ding!
I stand backstage, but right by where I can quickly head to the ring, to watch the match. Randy and Dolph exchange moves. Randy starts to gain the advantage when Vickie Guerrero goes to climb onto the apron for a distraction. I make my way out of guerilla, towards the ring.
The crowd loudly cheers when I appear on the stage to head down the ramp to help Randy. This draws Vickie's attention, and she turns around to look at me.
"We're not doing this today, Vickie." I say as I start approaching. "I'm sick of this. It's not happening today."
Vickie climbs down from the apron. "You don't tell me what to do, Marissa."
"How about I put it this way? I'm not going to idly stand by and let you interfere in my husband's match tonight. You wanna interfere? You're gonna have to deal with me."
Vickie gets right in my face. "Excuse me! Do you know who I am? I am Vickie Guerrero! Who the hell do you think you are?"
"I'm Marissa Orton." I smirk before slapping Vickie across the face.
Dolph, who is in the ring, looks at me. "What the hell are you doing, Marissa?! This is none of your business! You need to go ahead and head backstage and…"
Randy RKOs Dolph before pinning him.
1…2…3!
"Here is your winner, Randy Orton!"
I slide into the ring to join Randy. I raise his arm in the air in celebration.
Randy smiles at me. "I think I owe you for that one, sweetheart."
I look at him. "It's all good. I had a lot of fun with this one."
"Trust me, so did I. Nothing like having you back in my corner." Randy pulls me into a kiss in the middle of the ring.
