Hey guys! I hope you enjoy the chapter! It was challenging to do and I had fun with this. I think Iron Man 3 would probably be one of my favorite Marvel movies to be honest. It was interesting I had to admit and I just loved Pepper! Anyway, enjoy!
"Come on Tyra! I got you! You've gotta let go! You need to trust me okay?!" Dad panicked. "I'll never let you go! I promise!"
I hesitantly let go of the railing and started reaching for dad. I screamed when I heard the entire platform creak right underneath me. I could feel myself slipping.
"DAD!"
My hand grazed against his as he failed to catch me. I feel the heat on my back as I fall into the flaming inferno below me. It's somehow comforting to see my father's face as I fall to my death.
"TYRA NO!" He cried.
FLASH!
I woke up sweating as if I'd been running a marathon. I noticed that my phone was vibrating on the nightstand beside me.
What time was it anyway? Who the hell would be calling me now?
"Hello?" I answered.
"Don't trust, Killian." A woman spoke up.
My eyes grew wide and I looked at the caller ID, it was an unknown number of course.
Typical...
"Who are you and how did you get this number?" I questioned.
"Whatever you do, don't let your guard down. Killian is not to be trusted." She added.
"Tell me more. I need to know." I begged.
"I can't, the master could be listening in...goodbye."
Who the hell is 'the master'?
And with that the call ended. I put my phone back down and got out my handy dandy laptop before doing some research. For some reason, I find myself researching anything I can about Aldrich Killian and the Extremis project.
I had been up for hours, constantly taking notes of what I'd been investigating, purely of what I had found thus far. I scribble on my notepad of facts I had regarding the Mandarin attacks so far.
1) They say that the Mandarin was behind these bombings...but there was no trace of shrapnel, no parts of the bomb were ever found.
It was the weirdest thing I'd ever heard of, not to mention completely bizarre and mysterious.
2) It's obvious that the Mandarin is working with someone...
NOTE: Maybe a very powerful company, perhaps? I mean, who else could supply him with this kind of stuff?
Which then led me to the endless possibilities. My hand frantically moves as I write down my thoughts and ideas in a hurry.
-It couldn't be Hammer Industries, Justin Hammer's career was flushed down the toilet since the whole Ivan Vanko disaster. As far as I know, Hammer Industries is done.
-Stark Industries isn't even an option because we stopped dealing with weapons, plus Obadiah Stane is as dead as a doornail.
My thoughts go to Pepper, who I believed to be doing a good job of running the company ever since she had taken over as CEO. Currently, I kept thinking about the woman on the phone, the one that told me not to trust Killian. It was practically hinted that Killian had something to do with this, but I couldn't seem to find the connection right now. If I had any chance of finding any connection the Mandarin, I had to find some solid evidence and look into everything involved with AIM, along with Killian.
"Miss Stark, may I remind you that it is currently noon. and that you haven't slept in over seven hours?" JARVIS reminded me.
I glanced at my tablet, checking the time as I chew lightly on my pen.
"I'll be fine, JARVIS...I'll figure out the connection. Ever since I got that phone call, I think I've been getting a lead on the Mandarin. I'll look into it later..."
I take the pen from my mouth and write down one last note.
NOTE: Connection between AIM, Aldrich Killian, and the Mandarin? (Look into it)
I place my notepad down and under my pillow before laying down and closing my eyes.
FLASH BACK
~"Yo listen up! Here's the story, about a little guy that lives in a blue world, and all day and all night and everything he sees is just blue, like him! Inside and outside, blue his house, with a blue little window and blue corvette! And everything is blue for him, and himself and everybody around, 'cause he ain't got, nobody, to listen! I'm blue da ba dee da ba die! Da ba dee da ba die da ba dee da ba die!"~
Tony smiled as a dark haired woman blew a party horn in his face playfully. I stood by Happy and tugged at his jacket. Happy smiled and lifted me up in his arms. I buried my face in his neck as I saw my dad flirting with another woman. She had dark brunette hair, brown eyes, etc.
She's not mommy though...no one could ever replace mommy.
"Half hour till the ball drops, boss." Happy informed Tony.
"Tony Stark! Great speech man!" A guy clapped Tony on the back before walking off.
"Speech? How was it?" Tony seemed confused as he turned over to Happy.
"Horrible." Happy answered.
"Unintelligible." The dark haired woman looped her arm with Tony's.
"That's my favorite kind! Winning combo!" Tony joked.
"Where are we going?" She giggled.
"To your room, I wanna see your research!" Tony put on his best puppy dog face.
I grew upset at the lack of attention dad was giving me.
...how could he like her? She's not mom!
I began crying as Happy walked slower letting dad and the brunette walk farther ahead of us. Happy put me down and knelt down to look at me.
"Hey kiddo, what's wrong?" Happy asked.
When Happy put his hand on my shoulder I cried even louder and sat down on the floor hugging my legs to my chest. I began drawing a lot of attention when I started screaming and throwing a fit. At the sound of me crying and screaming, my dad whirled around and grew worried.
"Tyra! It's okay, honey! I'm here!" Dad ran over to me. "What happened?"
"I don't know, she just started throwing a fit!" Happy panicked.
Tony realized what had me upset, and lifted me into his arms, quickly embracing me.
"She tends to do that. Sorry buddy." Tony smiled sadly at Happy.
The brunette walked over to Tony and smiled when she spotted me.
"Oh! Is this your daughter? She's so cute!"
I screamed when she tried touching me, I didn't know her and I was just scared of unfamiliar faces. I didn't trust this woman as far as I could throw her. I wish I could just tell dad that. He'd listen...
"Hey! Hey! Look at me, Tye! I'm right here! No one's hurting you!" Dad pulled me over towards him.
After he began rubbing circles in my back, I slowly stopped crying.
"It's okay...daddy's here..." He spoke softly.
I began to relax in dad's arms and felt my eyes closing after a few minutes.
"Your daughter...she has autism right? I remember you mentioning that." The brunette asked Tony. "Does she only let you touch her?"
"She's gotten used to Happy, I think she likes him...which is an improvement really. She hates meeting new people." Tony explained. "I'm sorry she exploded like that, I have no idea what got her so upset..."
"I think she likes it when you're closer to her, sir. She doesn't like being so far away from you."
Happy cracked a small smile after glancing down at me.
"I guess she gets all tuckered out after throwing a temper tantrum, huh?" Happy joked.
Tony could hear me breathing softly, knowing I was falling asleep. He handed me over to Happy and put his finger to his lips as a signal to keep quiet as he walked off with his one night stand, or soon to be one night stand.
FLASH BACK OVER
I woke up to the alarm set up on my tablet and grabbed it to turn off the alarm.
Hm...it's been a while since I've heard this song...
Blue (Da ba dee) by the Eiffel 65 was playing, the very same song that was in my dream.
It was no doubt that my dream was bizarre, extremely random. I felt that there was more to this dream than I realized. Suddenly, it hit me and I remembered.
The brunette woman...her voice! She's the woman who called me last night!
"Damn...if that was a memory...man, what year was that anyway?" I scratched my head, feeling confused.
'Half hour till the ball drops, boss.'
It was New Years Eve then...
"Hey JARVIS...was my dad at some expo on New Years Eve at some point?"
JARVIS began searching through files on my tablet, looking on the internet, trying to find the answer.
"Records show that your father was at a convention in Bern, Switzerland on New Years Eve, Miss Stark. The year was 1999 I believe." JARVIS answered.
Huh...1999...it actually seems logical. I was only nine years old then right? Thinking about it makes me cringe.
"Is it possible that you could give me a list with pictures and names of people who attended this convention?" I asked.
JARVIS pulled up another window on the tablet. After much searching, JARVIS was able to pull up a list of people with their ID. I spotted a name that I recognized almost immediately.
Ho Yinsen...wasn't he the guy who helped dad escape from that cave in Afghanistan?
I looked at his ID and grew sad at the thought of the fact that he was no longer alive.
Without him, my dad wouldn't even be here.
Silently thanking Mr. Yinsen, I scrolled through more pictures along the list and finally stopped at a woman named Maya Hanson. She looked exactly like the woman in my dream and it was almost freaky seeing her face. My breath hitched when I saw Aldrich Killian himself on the list. He definitely looked a lot different.
I think I remember seeing Killian that night! God...and I can't even believe that I was just a little kid...Killian must have been in his early twenties.
I closed the window and pulled up a search window on my laptop as I grab my notepad. I began Google searching Maya Hanson. Grabbing my pen, I write down:
NOTE:
Maya Hanson. (Person of Interest)
- For some miraculous reason, I received a phone call last night from a mysterious woman.
-Little did I realize, I've met her before, along with my father *cough*
-A convention in 1999, I was only nine years old at the time, but I recognized her voice.
-She called me late last night to warn me not to trust Aldrich Killian.
IS ALDRICH KILLIAN CONNECTED TO THE MANDARIN?
I knew for certain that I had to find Maya Hanson, and that I needed to find her as quickly as I possibly could.
I needed answers.
"You're coming home already? It's only been two days. Why the sudden change of heart?" Pepper teased.
"Because uh...I miss you guys of course. I can put this off for a little longer right?" I lied.
"I love your Christmas gift by the way...it's beautiful. Thank you, Tyra." Pepper told me.
"No problemo, my friend." I smiled into the phone.
"I don't think Tony has opened his gift yet, he wanted to wait until you got home." Pepper chuckled.
I smiled at the thought.
Dad was always like that...
"What did he get for you anyway?" I then asked.
"Oh god...it's not hard to miss...you'll be able to see for yourself when you get here." Pepper groaned.
Uh oh...
"Oh! Don't tell dad I'm coming. I'll make it a surprise." I blurted out.
"I wasn't going to tell him anyway. Figured you wanted it that way." Pepper laughed.
"I'll see you tomorrow." And with that I ended the call.
The truth was that I was already back in Malibu, but considering the information I now had, I thought I'd search for Maya Hanson.
She's tricky to find though...almost as tricky as the Mandarin.
It took a lot of research last night to confirm that she worked with Aldrich Killian, speaking of the devil. It actually turned out that the Extremis project had all come from Maya, it was her fucking idea to begin with. From what I gathered, Maya was actually trying to save lives and figure out how to evolve humans, she wanted to make a medical discovery that would change things forever. Aldrich must have found her, and possibly decided he wanted more out of Extremis, like money, power, and super soldiers.
But this was all just a theory, I'll know the truth if I can find Maya.
I jumped in surprise when noticing that my phone was vibrating in my pocket. I glanced at the caller ID in surprise.
Aldrich?
I hesitantly answered the phone call.
"Hello?"
"Tyra! It's so nice to hear your lovely voice again. Have you given any thoughts to Extremis? I'm hoping you'll say yes. It would give us such a great opportunity to work alongside each other." Killian spoke in a seductive tone.
Shit...what do I say?! He sounds so flirty!
"Umm, I have been thinking about it. Don't get me wrong, but even after your little presentation, I still don't know much about Extremis, or rather who else is involved with this project, you know? I just need more information before I can really decide." I answered.
"I completely understand. How about I meet up with you again tonight? I could show you around the company building, introduce you to some of the people who have been working with Extremis. I can assure you that this would be a great chance to really get to know and understand what AIM does exactly. We don't just make things blow up, we're so much more than that." Killian said.
I wish I could believe you Killian...I really do.
"That sounds great." I faked a pleased tone.
"Meet up at the same place?"
"I- -uh...I can't actually. I just arrived back in Malibu for some...last minute business. A business partner of mine had me deliver something." I told him.
Shit...there's no way I can tell him about SHIELD...
"So is there anywhere else we could meet?" I change the subject.
"Maybe I could have your address?" He spoke lowly.
Oh god...that sounded very seductive...I need to stop.
"I don't believe that's very professional, Aldrich." I blushed.
I couldn't give him my fucking home address, he's nuts if he thinks I'd consider that.
"Sorry, I just can't seem to help myself...especially around beautiful women like yourself, Tyra. I'll text you a location and we can meet there. Sound good?"
"S- -sure. That...that sounds fine." I stammered.
"Good, I'll see you later then." Killian sounded pleased with my answer.
With that said, Killian ended the call.
Damn...what am I gonna do with Killian?
The next morning, I went straight back to the Stark mansion, hoping that seeing Pepper and my father would calm me down. I glanced down at my watch noticing it was 11 AM as I slowly approached the front door. I hesitated, my hand hovering over the door handle.
What do I say to dad?
I finally opened the door and walked in, trying to feel confident.
"Welcome home, Miss Stark. Shall I inform your father that you've arrived?" JARVIS spoke up.
Since my luggage was still in my car and I didn't feel like carrying everything, I walked in empty handed.
"Where is he right now?" I asked.
"In the workshop as always. Ms. Potts seems to be extremely tired, so I wouldn't suggest waking her up at this time."
"What happened?" I asked.
I plopped down on the couch as JARVIS explained about last night. My dad had been sleeping with Pepper, but he was having another nightmare. It was mostly about New York, when I almost died. The internal sensors signaled the armor to come over after noticing that dad was in distress. Pepper freaked out when the Iron Man suit was about to practically kill her as it saw her as some threat, but luckily dad woke up in time and shut it down.
The story was surprising, but at the same time...I was expecting it considering what my dad told me the last time I was in a hospital.
"Jeez...I guess I'm not alone in having nightmares. How long has he been hiding it from me?" I spoke softly.
"Several months, Miss Stark. Though he claims the nightmares weren't as bad in New York. The nightmares have been getting worse for the past two months. I believe he also has anxiety and panic attacks as you do at times, though he denies it." JARVIS informed me.
"Jeez...we're both fucked up aren't we?" I sighed.
I should just...we should talk about it together. It would help a little bit right? For the both of us...
I got up from the living room couch and made my way down to the workshop. Dad was tinkering with another Iron Man suit. I simply watched in the background as he was focused on the armor. If I looked close enough, he always had this look on his face when he was focused, it was the same exact look that I always have when I'm determined to make something.
"How are you holding up, old timer?" I smiled at him.
Dad nearly hit his head against the suit as he whirled around to see me leaning against the door.
"You said you weren't going to be back until after Christmas." Dad seemed surprised.
"I thought I'd come back a little early to check up on you. Rhodey and Pepper are worried about us. Rhodey was pretty much straight to the point with me, but Pepper gives me these signals. JARVIS also told me about last night..." My smile faltered.
"I don't know what you mean. JARVIS is probably malfunctioning...I'll fix him up later." Tony averted his gaze from mine.
"It's okay dad...I've been having nightmares too. They're worse when I'm not near you if I'm being honest." I confessed.
"They're just...dreams...it's not a big deal." He sounded unsure.
"I kept telling myself the same thing. New York...it really messed us up. I'm not used to knowing about other worlds a- -and magic...it's all new to me and I know for a fact that it's new for you too." I started.
I start walking over to him and sit down, knowing this talk between us was much needed for after so long. It was time to have this talk.
Maybe I'm just scared...that vision of my death was certainly something to think about.
Finally, I gather up the courage to continue, and I can tell that my dad sees me struggling to keep my emotions in check.
"Going to Asgard, that was definitely a weird experience for me. I was mostly scared that I wouldn't see you again and I kept thinking about New York when I was dealing with all these dark elves and shit because they reminded me of the Chitauri." I spoke lowly. "I actually cried when I saw the man that killed Coulson, die in my arms. It's fucked up I know...I guess what I'm really trying to say is..." I glanced up at dad. "You're not alone."
"This is more of a therapy session than you've had in months." Dad jokes.
So he knows, huh?
"I don't like seeing therapists...the reason being is that they don't do jack shit for me. I'd rather talk to you, Rhodey, or even Pepper about all this because I can trust all of you, because I know you guys. But you don't have to keep it in either, dad...you don't have to be strong all the time for me or for Pepper..." I blink away tears.
Dad smiled sadly and came over to pull me in for a hug.
"I could say the same thing about you. You're as stubborn as I am...you don't need to keep it all in either." Dad put his forehead against mine. "Do you wanna get some lunch?"
"Yeah." I wiped my eyes. "That sounds great." I let out a small laugh.
Dad put his arm around my shoulders and we both walked out of the workshop together.
"Pepper told me that you haven't opened your gift yet." I spoke up.
"Yeah, I wanted to wait for Christmas. I actually opened it yesterday though. See?" Dad held up the locket.
"Do you know what it does?" I raised an eyebrow at him.
"It's all for show...right?" Dad seemed confused.
I grabbed the locket and managed to get it open. Projections immediately began playing. Dad's jaw literally dropped.
"Where did you find all of these pictures?! How did you even- -"
I closed the locket and let it fall on dad's chest as I let go.
"There was a note inside the box you know. Let me guess...Pepper handed you the gift? I know you don't like being handed things. You probably didn't even see the note." I laughed.
Dad blushed and scratched the back of his neck.
"...maybe..." He sheepishly smiled.
Oh dad...you're such a goof.
After arriving to Burger King, Dad and I sat in the same booth we normally went to whenever coming here.
Why is it that we always come to Burger King?
After getting our meals, we began talking about everything that's been going on. I tried being honest with dad without giving too much away about my mission, mostly because I was afraid of how he'd react.
"Wait a minute...you've been seeing who?!" Dad flipped out.
"I haven't been seeing anybody in the way you're thinking. Aldrich Killian has been trying to get me to join him on a little project called Extremis. He wants to meet me tonight." I replied.
If Aldrich has anything to do with the Mandarin...god that will suck...I mean I'm not gonna lie...he's pretty handsome...
"So what do you remember about New Year's Eve of 1999?" I then asked.
Dad grew quiet and stared at me suspiciously before reluctantly answering my question.
"Those were my playboy fun time years...you know I don't remember much at all, despite having to be a father for a certain someone." He then narrowed his eyes at me. "...why?"
"I've been investigating something is all." I smiled.
"Such as?" He prompted.
Alright...should I or shouldn't I?
"Tyra..." Tony put his hand on my shoulder. "Remember? No hiding anything from each other?"
Damn it...he's right. Well...fuck it. I'm coming clean.
"SHIELD told me that I have to find the Mandarin and bring him back to the US or kill him if I can't bring him back." I confessed.
Dad dropped his burger in surprise and stared at me with concern.
"I thought Rhodey was working on that..." He frowned.
"He's working with me technically. So it's not all a lie." I shrugged.
"Why ask me about New Years Eve of 1999?" Dad looked confused.
"I think it has a lot to do with the Mandarin. You might have created demons without even realizing it." I answered. "Aldrich Killian was in Bern, Switzerland on New Year's Eve of 1999, along with someone else...you actually slept with her."
"What does any of this have to do with Mandarin at all?" Dad huffed.
"I think that Killian works for the- -"
My cellphone rang before I could tell dad. I grew angry pulling out my phone from my pocket, dad was about to object, but I noticed that it was Pepper. I hesitantly answered the phone, noticing how Pepper was crying as she struggled to find the words to tell me the news.
"It's Happy." She cried.
Happy was burnt, bruised, you name it. There was another bombing in the Chinese Theatre this time and it was plastered on every news channel you could see. They were of course saying it was another Mandarin attack, and when I saw the unauthorized TV broadcast not long after the news had ended, I was beyond shocked.
I couldn't believe it though...not for a second.
There was no sign of any pieces of the bomb, no shrapnel, nothing.
Someone was supplying him with some kind of tech that left no evidence behind. I had to find out how Killian was involved with the Mandarin or I'd lose my mind.
I glanced back at Happy and fought back the urge to cry, although I wanted to burst into tears very much. Happy was our friend, our colleague, he's been with my family for a long time. The doctors informed us of Happy's condition and how he was in a coma. The worst part was that they didn't know when he would wake up, or if he would. If I didn't take action soon, things would get even worse before they could get better. My mind wandered to my dad...to Rhodey...to Pepper...
Oh god...Pepper.
I turned back to Happy, trying to rid these bad thoughts. I couldn't get emotional, not right now at least. I had to follow this through to the end, and I couldn't worry about Pepper or my father, although it would be very hard not to worry over them. After squeezing Happy's hand one last time, I went over to dad, trying to keep my emotions in check as I grabbed his hand.
"We should take the back way out." I told him.
Dad kept silent as we walked out of the hospital. What scared me the most was that my dad was never this quiet, which I knew meant he was beyond furious.
I had to stop him from doing something completely stupid. He was going to draw attention and really act out, I knew he was. I knew him too well. People do stupid things when they're upset after all.
As we stepped outside, the press swarmed all around us. I took action and began dragging my father through the crowd, trying to get him to the car parked out front. I needed to get him out of there before he would speak up and say something that would make us all look bad. I wanted nothing more than to hide from these people and eat chinese food with Pepper while watching Pirates of the Caribbean, but I had a feeling that wouldn't happen anytime soon. We both kept walking to the car and got ready to get inside the car.
So far so good...
But then, someone spoke up that really got my dad's attention. He glanced back at the man and everyone went silent.
Never mind...
"When's someone finally gonna kill this guy?" He asked. "Just saying..." He smirked.
Why couldn't that stupid asshole just keep his mouth shut?
Dad paused before speaking up, he was pissed off. VERY pissed off.
"Is that what you want? Well here's a little holiday greeting I've been wanting to send to the Mandarin, I just didn't know how to phrase it until now...my name is Tony Stark and I'm not afraid of you, I know you're a coward, so I've just decided that you're dead, pal. I'm gonna come get the body. There's no politics here, just good ol' fashioned revenge. No Pentagon, it's just you and me. On the off-chance that you're a man, here's my home address: 10880 Malibu Point, 90265. I'll leave the door unlocked."
Dad got in the car after throwing the man's cell phone at a wall and effectively shattering it. I merely stood there in shock.
He just threatened a terrorist on national television...Ah shit snacks.
"What about you, Miss Stark? Anything you want to add?" Another reporter asked.
"No comment." I mumbled.
I finally got in the car and we both drove off together.
"Okay, I know you're upset, hell I am too. I wanted to punch that guy's face in, but what the hell was that?!" I snapped at him.
"I'm not in the mood." He grumbled.
"You threatened a fucking terrorist and gave him our home address!" I pointed out.
Dad glared at me and I looked at him in surprise.
What the hell is he giving me that look for?!
"Just stop, okay?!" He yelled. "And watch your mouth."
"You're talking to me about my mouth?! Your mouth should have been kept shut! You may be a genius, but you sure can be a dumb ass sometimes!" I scoffed. "Do you realize what you just did? You're putting our lives in danger, you're putting Pepper in danger which is incredibly selfish of you! I heard you skipped out on date night the other day too. I love you, but if you hurt Pepper I'll kick your ass, dad or not."
It was now his turn to look at me in surprise. He sighed deeply and gripped the wheel tighter.
"All I can do is screw up huh?" He murmured softly.
My glare softened and I gave him a sad smile as I reached over to touch his arm gently.
"You're not a screw up. Don't ever say that again. I mean we all make mistakes sometimes. Besides...I'm a bigger mess than you are." I joked.
Dad cracked a small smile and reached over to grab my hand. The rest of the ride home was in complete silence.
After getting home, I pretty much locked myself in my old bedroom, getting ready to meet up with Killian tonight. Feeling exhausted, I sat in bed as I was talking to Steve on Skype before I would leave the mansion again.
Speaking of which, how does Steve know how to Skype people?
"Hey, you alright?" Steve looked concerned.
I glanced back at the computer screen and gave Steve a sad smile.
"I'm pretty much on edge because a terrorist could come barging at our door anytime now. How do you think I am, Steve?" I chuckled dryly.
"Yeah...what your father did was a little out of line." Steve scratched the back of his neck awkwardly.
"A little?" I raised an eyebrow. "I'm surprised you're trying to be nice about my dad. I know how much you two have issues with each other. Sometimes I wonder if you both have a huge crush on each other." I teased.
Steve blushed a deep shade of red.
"I'm trying to tolerate your father at least. We're all on a team you know." Steve pointed out.
"Riiiigghht..." I chuckled.
I wonder what Bruce, Natasha, and Clint are up to right now. I bet it beats trying to find the Mandarin...
"Have you upped the security at the mansion considering your father gave away your home address to a terrorist on national television?" Steve asked without skipping a beat.
"I actually had my things moved to a hotel nearby." I averted my eyes.
"You mean you haven't been staying at your home?" Steve appeared confused.
"Considering I'm in the middle of an investigation and the fact that someone could show up to my home to blow the place sky high, I'm being a little prepared here, I'm not keeping my stuff here." I looked at Steve as if it was obvious.
What do I do?...this sucks...
"But I'm more worried about Pepper and my stingy ass father who refuses to leave by the way. He thinks he can protect us at the mansion. I mean unless he has a bunker hidden somewhere that can withstand bombs or something, I don't think staying here is a good idea, do you?" I mentioned.
"You should go see him, maybe try to convince him to leave again. You're his daughter...he's bound to listen right?" Steve said.
"I am...but I have a meeting with Aldrich Killian tonight, so I'm on a bit of a tight schedule." I mentioned.
"Right...I'll see you later then." Steve chuckled.
"We'll make plans when this is over...my treat." I smiled warmly at him. "Don't worry, Rogers. This'll be over before you know it."
With that I ended the video chat and turned off my laptop. I fixed my emerald green dress and curled my hair before applying some makeup. It was a hassle being a girl, but I knew nothing about 'beauty' standards would change anytime soon. I put my laser lipstick into my purse, an invention of mine, and after closing my bag, began leaving the mansion.
Alright...time to find that connection with Killian and the Mandarin...this should be fun.
I hope you all liked it! I had fun with this chapter! I'm sorry if I'm spoiling Iron Man 3 for those of you who haven't seen it yet by the way...but it's a good movie... lol anyway, let me know what you think and be nice please! I'll try to update soon!
