SmackDown Filming: March 13, 2012

Randy watches me as I entered the locker-room with my WrestleMania ring gear. "Are you doing alright?"

I give him a confused look. "Why wouldn't I be?"

"You've seemed off since my match last night against Jack Swagger. What's going on, Rissa?"

I sigh. "I'm just worried about you. I know you can handle yourself, but Kane is really dangerous. I think the worries just started to hit me."

Randy pulls me into his arms. "I'm going to be fine. I understand why you're worried, Rissa, but I'll be fine."

I nod. "I sure hope so."

"I'll at least give you the heads up that the match will be made official for WrestleMania tonight. What's that you brought in with you?"

I smile. "My WrestleMania ring gear, my match gets made official on Monday."

"That's great. What are you doing tonight?"

"A backstage segment with Beth, Eve, and Kelly. What about you?"

"I've got time to cut a promo."

"Good luck with that."

"I'm sure it'll go well. I'll be fine. You'll be fine. Everything will be just fine."

"I hope so."

Randy gave me a serious look. "It'll all be just fine."

"That's what I'm hoping for."

I looked at Eve as we were walking towards where we were supposed to film our backstage segment with Kelly and Beth. "I'm not even worried about my stuff. I'm just worried about Randy."

Eve nods. "That's fully understandable, Rissa. He's dealing with a pissed off Kane."

"Exactly. I have plenty of reason to worry about this match at WrestleMania."

"I agree. Hopefully, it goes well since it's going to be his birthday too."

I sigh. "I still need to find out what I'm getting him too."

"You haven't gotten his birthday present yet?"

"No, I've been really busy lately unfortunately. That's my next main priority though. I'll get something for him that he'll love."

"I'm sure you'll do that."

We arrive, and Kelly and Beth are both already waiting with the cameraman.

The cameraman looks at me and Eve. "Are we ready to film?"

"Yes, we're ready." I answer.

"Okay. Everybody get in their spots. And action!"

Kelly is walking towards the locker-rooms.

Eve catches up to her. "Kelly, wait up!"

Kelly gives Eve an annoyed look. "What, Eve?"

"Can we talk?"

"Sure. What's up?"

"I just wanted to say…" Eve stops talking as Beth attacks Kelly from behind.

Both Eve and Beth gang up on Kelly to attack her.

I run up. "Hey, what's wrong with you two?! Leave Kelly alone!"

Eve swings at me, but I avoid it and throw her into the wall. Beth comes after me, but I slap her before shoving her to the ground.

I check up on Kelly. "Are you going to be okay, Kelly?"

Kelly nods. "I'll be fine. Thanks, Marissa."

The cameraman signals that he's done filming.

Eve looks at me and Kelly as Beth leaves. "I think that went pretty well."

"I think it did too." Kelly replies.

"Sorry about throwing you into a wall, Eve." I comment.

Eve laughs. "We're good. It's a WrestleMania rivalry. We gotta kick each other's asses."

"Fair enough. It'll make things more interesting."

"A lot more interesting honestly."

"Yeah, I'm going to head back to my locker-room. Randy has a promo soon, and I want to watch it from there."

"Okay."

As I'm watching Randy make his entrance, Chris enters the locker-room.

I look at Chris. "Hey."

Chris sits next to me. "Are you alright?"

"I'm fine."

"You're worried about Randy. Aren't you?"

"Of course I'm worried, Chris. It's Kane."

"I understand, but it's also Randy. He can take Kane on. It'll be fine, Rissa."

I start feeling more tense as Randy starts to talk in the ring. "I trust Randy. I know he can handle himself pretty well, Chris. Kane can too though. He wants to kick Randy's ass."

Chris nods as Kane appears on the stage. "I know that, but I think Randy can take him."

Chris and I watched in silence as Kane played a clip from a Street Fight between him and Randy from July of last year. Kane then claims he will utterly and completely decimate Randy.

I bit my lip. "I don't like where this is going."

Chris gives me a sad look. "You can't stop this though."

"I know."

I sat in our bed at the hotel as Randy was in the bathroom. I slowly climb out of bed and open my bag. I immediately found what I was looking for…the box of letters. I only had a few left in the first box. It had been driving me crazy, so I packed it in my bag without telling Randy. I grab those last few letters and put on my reading glasses before climbing into bed without Randy. I open the letter numbered nineteen and start reading.

Date: July 2, 2002

Dear Marissa, Happy twentieth birthday. I know it's been about seventeen years since I've seen you, but there isn't a day that goes by that I don't think of you and Tyler.

Ever since you've turned eighteen, I've been trying to convince myself to reach out to both of you since you're adults now, but I just can't bring myself to do it. I'm sorry. I hope I can get over my fears one day and I can finally get my chance to apologize for everything.

Love, Mom

I sigh before putting that letter on the nightstand. I open the letter numbered twenty.

Date: July 2, 2003

Dear Marissa, Happy twenty-first birthday. It's been another year that's gone by that I've not reached out. I don't know what's stopping me at this point, but I wish I could get past it.

You and Tyler are still my kids. I've lived almost eighteen years of my life full of regret. I want to change that, but I have a feeling that at this point, neither of you will be forgiving me if I do reach out. I hope that somehow I'm wrong. Things will change one day.

Love, Mom

Randy walked out of the bathroom as I put that letter with the first one on the nightstand. "You brought the letters."

I sigh. "I've been putting off reading the last three in this first box for a month, babe. It's been driving me crazy since I knew this box only had a few left. I brought them because I knew that I should be reading them."

Randy climbed into bed next to me. "How many have you read while I was in the bathroom?"

"Two."

"So only one more?"

"Yeah, I think it's going to be my twenty-second birthday. The last one I had before joining WWE."

Randy nods. "I see."

"I'm a bit nervous about reading it."

"I'm sure you'll be fine."

"I hope so." I open the letter numbered twenty-one.

Date: July 2, 2004

Dear Marissa, Happy twenty-second birthday. It's been nineteen years almost since I last saw you.

Colby is eighteen years old now. I think I might have to finally tell him soon about you and Tyler. I'll need to finally reach out after that. I'll have to apologize to him for keeping so much from him, and I'll have to apologize to you and Tyler for abandoning both of you. I think it's time though. I hope to see you soon.

Love, Mom

I close my eyes as I set the letter down on the nightstand. I feel tears in my eyes. Randy pulls me close.

I lay down with him. "Thanks."

Randy kisses my forehead. "I'm here. I love you."

"I love you too." I mumbled as tears rolled down my cheeks.
