Super SmackDown Live: Blast from the Past: April 10, 2012
I sat in my locker-room backstage, waiting on my husband and my father-in-law to arrive. I had already checked the match card for tonight's episode of SmackDown. Of course, John Laurinaitis didn't make a match for me. I hadn't had a match since WrestleMania, and since I am suing John Laurinaitis, that is unlikely to change anytime soon. However, Randy had a match with Mark Henry tonight, so that would give us something to discuss. I heard a knock on the door and headed over to open it.
Bob stands across from me and pulls me into a hug. "Hey, Marissa! Glad to finally see you! I'm only stopping by for a second. Figured I'd give you kids some time alone for a little bit, and I could go see some old friends."
I hug Bob back. "Well, I'm glad to see you too. Make sure you come back by though. Being alone with Randal drives me crazy after a while."
Bob laughs as he releases the hug. "I promise I will. I raised him, so I know exactly what you mean."
"Thanks, Bob."
"See you kids later. Behave yourselves."
"We will. Bye, Bob."
"Bye, Dad." Randy says before Bob heads down the hall.
I smile, but note that Randy seems tense. "Hey, how was the trip here?"
Randy nods as he enters the locker-room. "It was alright."
"Just alright?" I ask before following Randy into the locker-room and closing the door.
"Well, I loved having some quality time with my old man, but it was a rather boring drive. Plus, admittedly, I think it would've been even more enjoyable if you'd just waited a day and not went to Raw."
"Well, I had to get something done. We both know that."
Randy nodded. "Yeah, I wanted to talk to you about something."
"Is that why you seem tense?"
"Yeah, um…I know you tried to talk to both Dave and John about my issues with Brock."
"We both know that you weren't really gonna talk about it. Dave didn't squeal for shit anyway. John barely spilled anything either. He just gave me the gist of things."
Randy sat on the couch. "You could've asked me about it."
"With the way you were acting about it, it seemed to be one of those things that you don't discuss."
"Usually, I wouldn't discuss it, but he was immediately an asshole towards you. Obviously, our past issues have already affected how he's going to behave towards you. I know you asked Dave and John about it because you were concerned. You have every reason to be concerned about it. I just would've preferred that you talk to me about it."
"I'm sorry. I just didn't want to cause an issue because it was something you weren't big on talking about."
"I'm not angry. I'm just a little upset that you didn't come to me to talk about it, but I'm just as much to blame for that. I didn't make myself open to talking about that."
"Well…can we talk about it?"
"How about as soon as we're back at home we talk about it? I don't really want the conversation ruining my mood with my dad being around tonight."
"Sounds like a deal."
"Good. Anyway, come with me for my match against Mark Henry tonight."
"Okay. Not like I have anything to do anyway."
Somebody gon' get they ass kicked
Somebody gon' get their wig split
Somebody gon' get they ass kicked
Somebody gon' get their wig split…
"The following contest is scheduled for one fall! Introducing first, from Silsbee, Texas, the World's Strongest Man, Mark Henry!"
I hear voices in my head
They council me
They understand
They talk to me…
"And his opponent, being accompanied to the ring by Marissa, from Saint Louis, Missouri, weighing in at 245 pounds, the Apex Predator, Randy Orton!"
Ding! Ding! Ding!
I watch the match, but I'm not really paying attention. My mind is on other things. Those things being the situation with Brock Lesnar, as well as what my lawsuit against John Laurinaitis could cause.
I finally start paying attention as Randy escapes Mark's attempt at the World's Strongest Slam. Randy goes for the RKO, but Mark throws him out of the ring. I back away as Mark follows Randy out of the ring.
1!
2!
Mark goes to throw Randy into the ring post, but Randy avoids it. Randy throws Mark into the post a few times.
3!
4!
Randy slides back into the ring, hoping to get a countout victory.
5!
Kane's pyro comes out of the ring posts. Randy and I exchange concerned glances as Kane appears on the titantron.
"Randy…oh Randy." Kane says. "Randy, I told you that I needed to beat you at WrestleMania to once again become whole. To once again be the monster that I was always meant to be. And I did that. But last week, you proved that you can be every bit as savage, every bit as vicious as I can be. You showed the world why you truly are the one, the only Viper. Randy, it would be a shame if this were a shame to end now. After all, I'm having so much fun. The kind of fun that the entire family can enjoy."
The camera shows Bob laid out. Randy immediately starts running backstage. I do the same, as I'm practically at Randy's heels while following.
"Go back to our locker-room." Randy says as we're both running. "He's clearly after my family. I don't want him getting his hands on you tonight too."
I nod. "Alright."
I stopped running. I watch Randy continue on, trying to find Bob. Once Randy is out of sight, I head to our locker-room.
I continue pacing around the locker-room. "I don't like this, Ted. I don't like it all."
Ted gives me a serious look. "Randy knows how to handle himself. Everything will be fine."
"Kane put his hands on my father-in-law. Everything is not fine."
"Randy will take care of it."
"It's a trap."
"What?"
"It's definitely a trap."
"How's it a trap?"
"He knows Randy is a big family guy. If Kane isn't gonna target me, the other way for him to get to Randy is Bob. He's using Bob to lure Randy into an attack. That has to be what it is."
"So Randy's walking into getting jumped?"
"Pretty much."
The screen in the room shows a camera feed of Randy looking for Bob.
I sigh as Randy finds Bob. "Thank goodness Bob seems to be alright."
Kane shows up and starts attacking Randy with a pipe. I wince as I watch it all go down.
Kane is going to pay for this.
