I woke up in a pretty good mood. Today was our one year wedding anniversary, and I was looking forward to enjoying the day.

"Have you finally decided to wake up? Took you long enough." Randy whispers.

I roll over to look at Randy. "You're still in bed too."

"Because I've been waiting on you. Geez."

"I was talking about sleeping in today for a few days before this. You should've known."

"Whatever. You're lucky you're pretty. Good morning, beautiful."

I smile. "Good morning."

"Just so you know, I'm giving you ten minutes before I make you get out of bed."

"You can't let me just go back to sleep?"

Randy laughs. "No, today is too important for that. It's our wedding anniversary, and I want to enjoy it."

"I know, but I'm enjoying laying in bed."

"Me too, but we have plans today."

"When do those plans start?"

"About the middle of the afternoon? Why?"

"Well, I was kinda thinking about something we talked about a little while ago."

"Which thing? We talk about a lot of things."

"I was thinking about your idea about getting a dog, Randy."

"You were? Have you decided on that now?"

"Yes, I have actually, Randy. I'm on board with getting a dog. We're going to have to figure out whether or not we'll let the dog travel with us to work or not because we'll have to make sure the dog is well taken care of, but I'll agree with you to get a dog."

"Seriously? Thanks, Rissa. I know this was a security for the house idea originally, but I'm excited to have a pet for the first time since becoming a WWE Superstar. It's been too long since I've had a pet."

"I remember you having a dog when we were kids. You also had that snake for a while. Just so you know, I'm not having a snake."

"Noted. If we get out of bed soon, I bet we could go to the animal shelter today."

"I guess it's time for us to get up then. I'll go cook breakfast."

"No, I'm cooking breakfast."

"Randal, cooking is my thing. Let me cook breakfast."

"It's a special occasion. Let me cook."

I sigh. "How about both cook and bond over it so we can stop going back and forth on this?"

Randy smiles. "Deal."

Randy and I walk around together at the animal shelter, looking at all the different dogs that were in the room we were in.

Randy smiles at me. "This is so cool. I honestly feel like this is a good way to spend part of our anniversary."

I nod. "Me too. Plus, getting a dog together is a big deal for our relationship."

"Yeah, this is like having a child together, but it's not a human."

"Pretty much."

"I'm glad that I chose to spend my future with you. There's no one else I'd want to do stuff like this with other than you."

"I feel the same way." I look down to see a mastiff trying to get mine and Randy's attention.

Randy kneels down to start playing with the dog. "Hi, well…aren't you a friendly dog?"

I smile as I watch Randy play with the dog. "This is adorable."

Randy continues to pet the dog. "You're the best boy. Yes you are."

I start playing with and petting the dog as well. "He's awfully friendly."

"He sure is."

"I think this is our dog."

Randy stops and looks at me. "You think so?"

I smile as the dog decides to lay on my lap. "This is our dog, Randy."

Randy pets the dog as the dog laid on my lap. "You're right. This is our dog. We've already bonded with him."

"We'll adopt him then."

"Sounds like a good plan. Do you want to take a trip to the store with me to buy stuff for him after we're done here?"

"I think that's a great idea."

Randy puts a few large bags of dog food in our shopping cart. "It's a bummer that we can't bring our dog home for another week."

I nod. "I know. We'll have him next Friday though. That's good. It'll at least give us time to think of a name for him."

Randy stops. "Somehow, that completely slipped my mind."

I give a small chuckle as we get in line to check out. "It's alright. We have a week to think of a name, Randy."

"I know."

We checkout and start heading to the car.

"So what now?" I ask.

"We can go pick up some fast food from like McDonald's or something for lunch. Nothing too heavy though. We have dinner reservations later." Randy tells me.

"Anywhere but McDonald's is fine with me."

"My bad. I almost forgot that you don't eat at McDonald's anymore for certain reasons."

"Yeah, I don't."

"How about we just swing by Wendy's on the way home?"

"That sounds good to me."

Randy opens the trunk of the car and starts putting what we bought in. "That's what we'll do then."

"Okay."

Randy tosses the car keys at me. "Start the car."

"On it."

I get inside the driver's seat to start the car. Just as I start the car, a familiar truck parks next to us. I quickly recognize it as my brother Tyler's truck. I exit our car just as Tyler exits his truck.

Tyler hugs both me and Randy. "Hey! This is an odd way to spend your wedding anniversary. Why are you two out here shopping on today of all days?"

Randy smiles. "Hey, Tyler. We actually have a good reason to shop today. Plus, we still have big plans tonight. We have dinner reservations at seven."

"Yeah, it's all good." I comment. "Hey, Ty."

"Hey." Tyler replies. "So what are y'all doing out here shopping then?"

Randy smiles. "We were buying stuff for the dog we're adopting."

"You're adopting a dog? That's unexpected. Really happy for you guys though. When do you get it?"

"We'll have him next Friday." I answer.

"That's cool. What breed of dog is he?"

Randy smirks. "You'll just have to wait and see."

"That just gives me an excuse to stop by your guys' house next Friday. I'm gonna go do my shopping now. Happy anniversary."

"Thanks." Randy and I both say before Tyler leaves us to go shopping.

Randy smiles at me. "Let's go put some food in our stomachs."

Randy and I walked into the Japanese restaurant together. We were immediately sat down where we could watch our food getting cooked.

"This is so cool." I say as we look at our menus.

"I would hope so." Randy replies. "It's our wedding anniversary. I wanted to make it special."

"Well…you did fantastic."

Randy tells the cook our orders before looking at me. "I'm glad you feel that way. We've been legally married for a year."

"You say legally like our marriage wasn't always legal." I laugh. "I can't believe it's been a year though."

"Me either honestly, but we've got many more years to go."

I smile. "And those will be amazing years."

Randy smiles as we get our drinks. "Tonight isn't over yet though. After this, I want to try to recreate the wedding night."

I grin. "The wedding night? I can support that."

"You should. That night was fantastic. Happy anniversary, Rissa."

"Happy anniversary, Randy."
