A/N
So I update when I finish chapters so you could have multiple a day or maybe none for a few weeks. I am trying to figure out which school to have Hinata go to. So right now I'm between making Hinata going to a new school a whole new story or just continue it here. Also if you want it a new story put down which school you'd like to see him in the most. I don't mind doing multiple stories where Hinata is in a different school in each of them. Put what you'd like down in the comments and I appreciate all of you reading this and the comments.
Meet Inarizaki
Hinata pov
The next morning I woke to a knock on my door. I groaned and rolled over.
"Come in Rei," I said. Rei opened the door and walked in.
"Good morning Shoyo-Sama," Rei said.
"Morning Rei," I replied.
"Shoyo-Sama your Grandfather wanted me to inform you that this afternoon you are to head to Inarizaki High School," Rei said.
"Is that all?" I asked.
"No he wanted me to tell you that after today you do not have to visit Inarizaki High everyday, but this next week he would like you to visit at least one more time," Rei said.
"Ok," I said. Rei gave me a bow and left closing the door after him. I sat up and looked over at the alarm clock. It was only 7 am. I sighed, but got up knowing that I wouldn't be able to sleep anymore.
After I got changed and did my bathroom routine I walked down to the kitchen. Rei was there food on the table waiting for me. I sat down and started to eat, Rei just standing quietly. Once I was halfway through breakfast I started to talk.
"Rei is there anything I have to do today?" I asked.
"Just visiting Inarizaki and your Grandfather's list," Rei said.
"Can I have the list?" I asked. Rei handed me the list. I looked at it. It wasn't long, but I knew that once I started back at school Grandfather would expect me to continue with the list. On it was practicing my violin for 30 minutes, practicing my viola for 30 minutes, practice the piano for an hour, exercise for an hour, and work on my Spanish. That wasn't too bad. After I finished my breakfast I got up and headed to the music room.
The music room was added by my Grandfather when I was 5. It had posters of famous musicians all over the wall. A large bookshelf filled with music books and binders filled with sheet music. I picked up a violin and for a second just looked at it. As I tuned it and rosened my bow I thought about how long it's been since I touched a musical instrument.
It's been over a year since I've touched either my violin or viola. I put the violin up to my neck and put my bow to it. I pulled the bow across the strings and just started playing. I wasn't playing anything in particular and I knew I was messing up on my notes because I was rusty.
Once I finally stopped I looked over at the clock and saw that half an hour already passed. I sighed and put the violin away. I moved to the viola next. I wanted to get this over with. I stopped playing because I hated it, but I know if I didn't do this then my Grandfather would punish me.
The last time he punished me I was left in my room for a week. I was given food, water, and unlimited access to the bathroom, but I wasn't allowed human contact. Whenever someone brought me food they were ordered by my Grandfather not to speak to me. That was 5 years ago and I've been too afraid to disobey since.
I finished with my viola and decided I was done for the moment. I didn't want to practice music anymore. I just started walking around the house not really going anywhere. Eventually I made my way into the library. Sitting right in the middle of the room was the only computer in the house. Natsu and I used to fight all the time over whose turn it was to use the computer. I suddenly remembered that I forgot to message Suga. I pulled out my phone and texted him.
Suga-Senpai I arrived late last night. Sorry for not texting you earlier ^U^.
Once that was done I sat down at the computer and opened up amazon. I found some volleyball posters and ordered them. They were going to arrive tomorrow. After that I pulled up some computer game Kenma was talking about.
It was really good and I got absorbed in it. Once I finally died I looked at the time and saw that it was almost noon. I got up and went back to the music room. I wanted to get the piano out of the way, because after that all I'd have left is exercise, which I could play volleyball, and the work on my Spanish and that doesn't have a time I have to complete. Once I made it to the music room I went to the bookcase and pulled down one of the binders. I pulled out the music sheets for Beethoven's Piano Sonata No. 5 in C minor.
I put the music down and took a deep breath. I started to play. I wasn't as rusty on the piano because when I don't pay attention my fingers will start to play on their own. I finished the song and kept playing. I played that song over and over until I heard my phone vibrate. I picked it up and noticed an hour had passed since I started.
Hinata, great to hear from you! Hope you enjoy Hyogo! :)
I smiled. It was good to hear from him. I got up and headed down stairs. Lunch was waiting for me.
"Shoyo-Sama, are you ready for lunch to be served?" Rei asked.
"Yes please Rei," I said and sat down. Rei set down my lunch of chicken Katsu. I ate it quickly and when I was done I went to my room and grabbed my volleyball. I went to my new court and started to warm up. There wasn't much I could practice on my own so I decided to start serving. I would serve the ball on one side and then go and retrieve the ball and serve from the other. I just kept doing this. Out of 10 serves I could only get 4 in bounds. I cursed myself. I was horrible at serving and receiving. The only thing I seemed to be good at was spiking.
I just kept practicing and practicing not stopping.
"Shoyo-Sama you might want to come get ready. You have to be at Inarizaki in an hour," Rei said. I nodded and put my volleyball on the back porch. I went up to my room and got a shower. After I was done I put on some clothes that looked nice, but I could still work out in.
Once I was downstairs Rei was waiting at the door for me.
"The car is waiting outside Shoyo-Sama," Rei said.
"Thank you Rei," I said, putting on my shoes.
"Your coat Shoyo-Sama," Rei said, holding out a folded sweatshirt. I grabbed the sweatshirt and pulled it on before stepping outside. There waiting was the car. I slid in and off we went. It took five minutes to reach Inarizaki and once there I stepped out of the car.
Standing at the gate was a student waiting for me.
"Hello, my name is Kiyama Taro. I am the student council president," the boy, Kiyama said.
"Nice to meet you Kiyama-Senpai. I am Hinata Shoyo," I said with a bow.
"Likewise Hinata-San. Now if you'll follow me I will show you around," Kiyama said. I followed Kiyama around as he showed me all the buildings. He showed me the science labs, the art room, the music room, and the classrooms in the main building. Then he took me to the dojo's, there was the dojo's for the martial artists and then the Kyudo dojo. We were just passing the gym.
"Now for the next week you are allowed to come and look around the campus and observe the clubs if you like," Kiyama said. I just nodded along glancing in the gym. Volleyball practice was going on. I stopped for a second and just observed.
"Oh you noticed our volleyball club. They are the pride of the school," Kiyama said. I just kept watching. As one of the players spiked I noticed that it was going to be coming our way. I wasn't too worried though since it should sail over us.
"Watch out!" one of the players yelled. The ball was high in the air. I jumped up and caught it. Everything became silent once I landed the ball in my hand. I threw it back into the gym.
"Wow that was amazing Hinata-San. With that ability you could be one of our schools Golden Foxes," Kiyama said.
"Golden Fox?" I asked, confused.
"It is what we call some of our best in the school. Our volleyball club has three golden foxes right now," Kiyama said.
"Where did that title come from?" I asked.
"Do you know the story of Jack and the Beanstalk?" Kiyama asked. I actually did, it wasn't a well known story in Japan.
"Are you talking about the golden goose?" I asked and Kiyama nodded. I thought that was kind of creepy since the golden goose in that story was used to make money.
"Do you like volleyball Hinata-San?"
"Yes actually. I used to play on my old school's team."
"Do you want to come watch?" I nodded and we walked into the gym. I saw a boy with gray hair and black tips scolding another boy with gray hair.
"Osamu how many times have I told you to make sure that the gym door is closed. This is the exact reason why. Someone could have gotten hurt," the gray haired and black tipped boy said. The other boy, Osamu, looked sheepish.
"Kita-San I have someone I want you to meet," Kiyama called over. The black tipped hair boy walked over.
"Yes Kiyama-San?" the black tipped boy, Kita, asked.
"This is Hinata Shoyo. He is looking around the school because he might transfer here. He plays volleyball and wanted to see your practice," Kiyama said.
"Nice to meet you Hinata-San. I am Kita Shinsuke, the captain of the volleyball club," Kita bowed.
"Nice to meet you Kita-San," I gave a small bow.
"You were the boy who caught the ball that went out of control," Kita said.
"Yes. I saw that if it continued it would hit a school window," I explained.
"That jump was impressive. Would you like to join our practice?" Kita asked.
"Only if it is ok," I said looking at Kita and Kiyama.
"As long as Kita-San is fine with it," Kiyama said.
"Come along Hinata-Kun. I'll introduce you to some of the team," Kita said leading me over to the boys standing on the court.
"Everyone gather around!" Kita called.
"Who's this Kita-Senpai?" a boy with blond hair asked.
"Everyone, this is Hinata Shoyo. He is going to be practicing with us for a bit," Kita explained.
"Nice to meet you," I said with a bow. Kita started to point people out.
"This is Miya Atsumu our setter, his brother Miya Osamu is our opposite hitter, Akagi Michinari is our libero, Suna Rintaro our middle blocker, and Ojiro Aran our outside hitter," Kita explained.
"What position do you play Kita-Senpai?" I asked.
"When I get on court I am an Outside hitter," Kita said.
"So who is this again Kita?" Atsumu asked.
"Hinata Shoyo might be transferring to our school and he plays volleyball. He actually caught the out of control ball that you two shot," Kita said looking at the Miya brothers.
"This shrimp?" Atsumu asked, shocked.
"I'll have you know that I can jump really well and I am fast," I said indignantly.
"That reminds me. Hinata-San what position do you play?" Kita asked.
"Oh you can just call me Hinata. And right now I play middle blocker," as I said that Atsumu snorted and I sent him a glare. "But in middle school I was an outside hitter."
Atsumu just started to laugh. I sent him a glare and pulled off my sweatshirt.
"Send me a toss," I said to Atsumu. Atsumu just raised his eyebrow at me, but I just continued to stare at him. Atsumu just shrugged and picked up a ball tossing it to his brother.
Osamu went to the other side of the court and Akagi got in the position to receive. Atsumu stood by the net ready to set the ball. Osamu served and it was cleanly received. Atsumu got under the ball and set the ball. It was a fast and high set on the opposite side of the court. I put on the speed and jumped the ball was right in front of me and I swung my arm. The ball shot down on the other side of the court and I landed.
I looked at my hand, slightly red and smiled. The whole gym was quiet.
"Yeeeeesssss. I love the feeling of a good spike," I threw my arms up in the air. I haven't felt this good in a while.
"That was amazing Sho," Atsumu said, walking over to me.
"No Atsumu you were awesome. Your toss was like Few and then I was like Pow," I said excitedly.
"You can call me Tsumu, Sho," Tsumu said.
"And you Osamu, your spike was so cool," I said, turning to Osamu. Osamu turned his head to the side.
"It was nothing," Osamu said.
"Oh you don't mind me calling you Osamu do you? I mean there are two Miya's," I said.
"It's fine," Osamu.
The rest of Inarizaki's practice I spent mostly with Osamu and Tsumu. Tsumu and I would do spikes together and both of them were helping me on my serves. During practice I texted Rei telling him not to send the car that I would walk home. Once the practice was over I started walking home with the Miya's.
"So are you new to Hyogo?" Tsumu asked.
"Yeah, but I am not sure I am staying. My Grandfather is having me visit schools and Inarizaki is the only one in Hyogo," I said.
"So are you staying at a hotel?" Osamu asked.
"No I am staying at a family house," I explained.
"You should come to Inarizaki. That way we can play more," Tsumu said.
"I don't know. This is the first school I've visited so I still have others to go to," I explained.
"But still I want you to spike more of my tosses," Tsumu whined.
"I'll be back. I'm here for a week," I said.
"But stillllll," Tsumu whined.
"Tsumu you're being childish," Osamu teased.
"Shut up Samu," Tsumu snapped.
"We're home," Osamu said. I turned to look where we were and saw it was the shrine next to my house.
"Wow you live in a shrine," I said in awe.
"Yeah. But it's not that cool," Tsumu said.
"Yes it is," I insisted.
"Do you live near here Sho?" Tsumu asked.
"Oh yeah. That's my house," I said pointing to my house.
"You live there?" Tsumu said, eyes wide.
"Not usually. It is a vacation home," I explained.
"That's a vacation home?" Osamu said.
"Yeah. It's not that great," I said.
"This place is huge," Tsumu said in awe.
"Oh you wanted to play more volleyball. I have a court in back," I said.
"You have your own volleyball court?" Tsumu asked.
"Yeah, it's new. Come on," I motioned them to follow me and they did.
I opened the front door and there stood Rei.
"Welcome back Shoyo-Sama. I see you brought guests," Rei said, giving a little bow.
"Yeah we're going to go out back and play volleyball," I said.
"Very well Shoyo-Sama," Rei said and I led Osamu and Tsumu to the back yard. When we reached the back door I picked up my volleyball.
"Who was that person?" Tsumu asked.
"You mean Rei? He's my butler," I said casually.
"Of course you have a butler. I shouldn't even be surprised by now," Tsumu muttered.
I just laughed and we all started to play. For a while it was just a game of keep up. And I learned just how competitive the twins were with each other. And how violent they could get. Once they finished fighting we were all sitting on the back porch drinking some lemonade Rei brought us.
"Samu, where do you think training camp's going to be?" Tsumu asked.
"I don't know," Osamu muttered.
"Training camp?" I asked.
"Yeah. Every year around this time the volleyball regulars go on a training camp. Usually it's to the beach, but I heard Kita can't find anywhere for us to stay. So I have no idea where it's going to be," Tsumu said, shrugging.
"If you need a place to stay you could always stay at my place," I offered. Tsumu laughed.
"No offense Sho, but this place isn't exactly at the beach."
"I know that. I was talking about my beach house," I said rolling my eyes. Tsumu's jaw dropped.
"You look stupid Tsumu," Osamu said.
"Shat up," Tsumu snapped. "You have a beach house?"
"Well yeah. And if you need it I can make a call and have it set up for you guys," I shrugged.
"Are you sure?" Tsumu asked and I nodded. "Samu call Kita and ask."
Osamu did as his brother asked and when Kita picked up he explained everything. Osamu then held his phone out to me.
"He wants to talk to you," Osamu said. I took the phone and put it to my ear.
"Hello Kita-San," I said.
"Hinata-San. I have to ask. Are those boys pulling a prank or forcing you?" Kita asked.
"No I made the offer all on my own," I said.
"We couldn't abuse your generosity. It is a nice offer though," Kita said.
"No, I want to do this. And besides it's not that big of a deal. It's not a big house, but it's backyard is the beach."
"If you're sure." Kita sighed.
"I am."
"Then I will tell the Coach. Will we be able to arrive in two days?"
"That's fine."
"Well than from the whole team. Thank you."
"Your welcome." I was about to pull the phone away from my ear and hand it back to Osamu.
"Oh and Hinata."
"Yes?"
"You are welcome to join us." Kita then hung up the phone and I handed it back to Osamu.
"So what did he say?" Tsumu asked.
"Oh you'll be leaving in two days to go to my beach house," I said smiling.
"Whoop," Tsumu said, throwing his arms up.
"Oh and I will be joining you guys," I said mischievously. Tsumu laughed and threw his arms around me. I laughed too.
"Tsumu we have to go," Osamu said.
"Oh right dinner," Tsumu said. They both got up to leave.
"Goodbye Hinata," Osamu said.
"Bye Sho-Chan," Tsumu waved and they started to leave. It took me a second.
"SHO-CHAN!" I yelled. I heard Tsumu laughing as they left.
"Geez," I said and walked inside.
"Shoyo-Sama, why don't you go get washed up. Dinner will be ready soon," Rei said as I walked in.
"Sure," I said, kicking off my shoes. I padded upstairs into my room and washed myself up. I pulled out my phone and decided to text Suga-Senpai.
HI Suga-Senpai. Finished my first day of visiting :)
That's great Hinata. Have a good time.
I will. Good night.
Night.
I smiled and headed downstairs. Sitting at the table and eating dinner. Once that was done I went to the library and got on the computer. I started working on my Spanish. If I didn't do it then I would be in trouble and because it was on the computer Grandfather could make sure I did it.
I worked on my Spanish for about an hour, Grandfather wants me fluent by the end of the year. I shut the computer off and leaned back stretching. I yawned and went to my room. There I got changed and did my nightly routine. As I walked out of the bathroom I heard a knock on my door.
"Come in Rei!" I called. Rei walked in a tray in his hand and a drink on the tray.
"Your nightly Coco Shoyo-Sama," Rei said. I pouted.
"Mou Rei I'm not a little kid anymore," I complained. Rei just smiled.
"So I guess I should just take this away then," Rei started to walk away.
"I didn't say that!" I said. Rei just smiled and put the tray down on my nightstand.
"Do you need anything else Shoyo-Sama?" Rei asked. I sat down on my bed and picked up my Coco.
"Yeah. Tomorrow I need you to contact someone and have the Hyogo beach house opened up and food dropped off," I said.
"It will be done Shoyo-Sama. But if I may be so bold to ask. Why?"
"I offered it to the Inarizaki volleyball club. I'll be heading out with them to their training camp in two days and I offered the house for use."
"Ok. Good Night Shoyo-Sama."
"Good Night Rei." I put my finished Coco on the tray and went to sleep.
