SmackDown Filming: May 29, 2012

Randy looked me up and down. "You're looking great, babe."

I smile. "Thanks, Randy. Do you have anything tonight?"

Randy shook his head. "No, what about you?"

I shrug. "Me either."

"Damn, that sucks."

"I'll snag an interview or something. It'll be alright."

"That's good. Man, I love you."

"I love you too. I'm so over John Laurinaitis and his administration."

"I know, baby girl. You'll be alright though. I think your plan will work."

"I hope it will. Literally only you and McKenzie know even a bit of it. I'm keeping it quiet because it'll work better that way."

"Oh, sounds like a good idea. How much did you sleep last night? You look kinda tired."

"I have no idea. I woke up a lot during the night. You fell asleep pretty quickly and didn't wake up at all, so I just let you sleep while I struggled with my own sleep."

"You could've woken me up. I would have tried to help you sleep."

"I didn't want to interrupt your sleep though, but yes, I'm tired."

"Why do you think you didn't sleep well?"

"I've been stressing out about work. I think it may just be about this John Laurinaitis situation, but I've been stressing out nonetheless."

"Maybe you should try taking some melatonin before bed."

"I'm not gonna do that."

Randy rolls his eyes. "You're so damn stubborn."

I laugh. "Like you're any better."

Randy shrugs. "I can't argue with you there."

"Of course not. You're so great."

Randy smiles. "I know."

"I need to stop feeding your ego."

Randy laughs. "That's never gonna happen."

"I know. You're good to me, so I feel the need to complement you. Those complements feed your ego."

"They make me feel like I'm a great guy. Maybe even the best guy. I mean I'm the best WWE Superstar already."

"You're getting awfully bold over there."

"I'm always bold. What are you talking about?"

"Fair enough. You're full of yourself, Randy."

"I am. You know that. I think that's part of the reason you love me so much."

"It may be part of the reason."

"It is, and we both know it."

"If you say so. I'm going to go try to snag an interview."

"Okay. Good luck."

"Thanks."

"Ladies and gentlemen," Matt Striker says. "Please welcome my guest at this time, the WWE Divas Champion, Marissa Orton."

I walk into the area. "What's up?"

"Marissa, you have been the Divas Champion for a record three times now. That is quite the accomplishment. However, you did mention that Beth has won more of the Divas Championship matches that you two have had against each other. What is your plan for winning at No Way Out so that doesn't happen again?"

"Well, my plan is to win at No Way Out. If I explain more, Beth will know what to expect. I don't want that. I have a plan, but I'm not explaining the details."

"Of course, speaking of Monday night, you did comment about the recent behavior of Eve Torres. Can you elaborate on why you did that?"

"Yes, I did make some comments about Eve and her behavior since she's been in John Laurinaitis's administration. You see, Eve and I have known each other for about five years now. When I formed the Divas of Domination, I handpicked Eve to be one of the members, which gave her career quite the boost. Even though I was injured at the time, I watched Eve win her first Divas Championship with nothing but joy. I felt the exact same way when she won it the second time. For quite some time, Eve was my first choice for someone to have as backup. Now, I see her cost Teddy Long his job. Then, she joins John Laurinaitis and his administration. I saw Eve go from one of the most reliable friends I had around here to someone who's cold and manipulative, and it's disappointing. I think since I've known her for the whole time she's been here, I'm entitled to say that much. You asked why. There's your answer. If Eve has a problem with that, she can come find me and take it up with me personally."

"Okay, is there anything else that you would like to say while we're here?"

"I'm standing my ground all the way here, Todd. If Beth wants to come after me, I'll stand there without any hesitation and fight for myself. If Eve has an issue with me, I'll stand up and fight for myself. I'm Marissa Orton. I'll stand my ground the whole damn time. Thanks for the chat." I leave the interview.

Randy and I were once again together at the hotel. Of course, my upcoming therapy session in a few days was stressing me out. Randy didn't know it was that, but I knew he sensed my stress. He sat on the bed and pulled over by the waist to sit with him.

"I think you nailed your interview." Randy says as he starts to massage my shoulders, in an attempt to calm me.

"Thanks." I whisper as I lean towards him.

"I'm here for you if you need to get anything off your chest."

"I know. Thank you, Randy."

"Are you going to try to read the next letter from your mom tonight? I saw you packed the box."

"Probably."

Randy stopped with the massage and just held me close. "Hey, it's gonna be alright. Whatever is in the remaining letters, you'll get through it. Whatever John Laurinaitis tries to throw at you next, I'll be right with you as it comes your way."

"Thank you." I get up and get out the box of letters.

Randy watches me with a smile before his phone rings.

Randy checks his phone. "I should take this. I'll go in the hallway while you read the letter so I'm not distracting you."

"Alright." I reply.

I open the box of letters and open the letter numbered twenty-six.

Date: November 2, 2004

Dear Marissa, today, you came here to see me for the first time in years. Unfortunately, things did not go well.

I brought up your career with WWE, which I do not agree with you having, and you defended it before lashing out at me.

I probably deserved that, but I hope you'll come to understand that as a mother, I don't like seeing my daughter being eye candy for television.

However, there's another reason that I'm not okay with you working for WWE. The man who owns WWE, Vince McMahon, is your biological father.

I know that neither of you know about that. He knows I had his child, but he doesn't even know your name. As far as you know, Richard is your father.

I wanted to keep it that way. However, I have a feeling that's going to change now.

There's part of me that wants you to leave that career, but I also want you to be happy. Maybe, if you're happier, you'll be able to be more open to a good relationship with me.

I hope we can work things out. I'm sorry.

Love, Mom

Randy walks back in as I start crying. He rushes over to me and pulls me into his arms.

"That was a lot." I whisper.

Randy holds me close. "That's okay. I'm here."

"Are you alright? You seem off."

"I'm fine. Nothing to worry about, Rissa."
