The group looks up to the tall stranger on the ridge line. Tannin and Sairaorg walk to the group, looking like death warmed over from their bout with Chris. The stranger disappears from the ridge and reappears at the location of the group gathered around Chris. His silver hair was slicked back and he was dressed in what looked like basic leather garments.
Akeno knelt down by Chris and wrapped her arms around him as the stranger spoke, "What a pitiful site! A paladin beaten down and stopped by a dragon, no less! You truly have fallen hard, haven't you Oathbreaker." Ridem laughed.
Chris wipes his eyes and stands up with Akeno, pushing her behind him, "Listen... what was it, Rodman?" Chris said sarcastically. Ridem scoffed, "Ridem, you vile creatin!"
"Yeah, whatever. I don't know who you are or how you got here, but we're leaving. Take your fight somewhere else because whatever you're selling, I ain't buying!"
"It's my sworn duty as the Paladin of Glory to vanquish the dragon kings and now the Oathbreaker. Seems fate has brought me not one, but two dragons and a heavenly dragon, no less! And the Paladin known as Oathbreaker. What an opportunity for me! You see I can't just let you go; this must be destiny for all of you to have been brought to me. I will destroy all of you if I must in order to destroy these brutish dragons!"
"You can certainly try!" Rias glows her crimson red and fires a bolt of demonic energy at the man, who easily deflects it. Rias and the others move in front of Chris, Asia moving next to Chris to start healing him. Sairaorg and Tannin, though battered and beaten, joined the group against the paladin. Ridem laughed, "This all my power warrants from you peasants!? I am THE Paladin of Glory; you will know and fear my power!" Ridem's voice changes to a similar deep booming voice as Chris's, as his energy skyrockets. Heavy plate armor forms on his body and a massive shield and short sword form as well, "Come on, Ruined Princess! Let us see what makes you special!"
The group goes on the offensive attacking Ridem with strategic strikes and devil magic. Rias and Akeno are able to attack with their ranged attacks, followed up by Xenovia and Kiba's sword wielding abilities. Ridem absorbs or deflects most of the attacks away using his sword and shield. Xenovia uses her Ex-Durandal to form a massive sword of energy and bringing the spire of energy down on Ridem. His shield takes the brunt of the attack as he slashes the massive energy away from himself. Kiba immediately attacks him head on wielding two of his demonic swords. Ridem pushes Kiba away with his shield, "ARRGGH! Get back demons!" slamming his shield into the ground. An energy wave pushes the entire group away, giving the paladin some room to maneuver, "Now, it's my turn to show you the power of a true dragonslayer!"He begins to jump between each members location connecting with a flurry of attacks. Chris rushes to Rias' and Akenos' aid, catching them before they hit the ground, "God damn it! Fucking stop… stop hurting them!" Chris pleads to the paladin.
"That's it! Listen here you paladin fuck, that's my girlfriend and all my friends! Time to send your ye ol' ass back to whatever bad story book you came from! I'll show you the power of my Illegal Move Triaina! Welsh Dragonic Rook!" Issei's armor changes to a beefed up version of his dragon armor; he jumps on the offensive, quickly shattering Ridem's shield.
"Change form! Welsh Sonic Boost Knight!" His armor becomes a less defensible version of itself as he slams head first into Ridem's chest, sending him into the boundary walls of the arena.
"Change form! Welsh Blaster Bishop! Later doucher!" His armor changes once more as smaller supports shoot out from his legs and plant themselves in to ground. Two large cannons form from his back and charge for an attack. The cannons launch a massive energy blast directed at Ridem, who yells in front of the blast. As the energy dissipates, the group can see Ridem kneeling on the ground, his armor and sword was mostly intact but significantly damaged. He slowly stands up from the massive trench that Issei's blast left, "What an awesome display of power from the Red Dragon of Domination! However, you must understand that you are desperately out matched."
Ridem closes his eyes as his armor and sword began to heal, taking a very deep breath and exhaling. His eyes open and giving everyone a very sinister smile and disappearing. He suddenly appears in front of Issei and plunges his sword through Issei's armor easily, "Issei! NO!" Rias reacts and goes to catch him as he falls to the ground. Issei coughs as blood sprays from his mouth. Ridem rushes to Tannin and plunges his sword into the dragons' leg, jumping as he pulls his sword out, then plunging it into the dragon's ribs; Tannin falls to a knee, blood pouring from his ribs and mouth. The other devils try to attack Ridem in a coordinated attack but are quickly dispatched, worn out from the attack and battle. Ridem's sword dissipates and he walks over to Koneko, who was struggling to get back up from the last attack. Ridem grabs her by her head and lifts her up to face him, "Fucking leave her alone, God damn it!" Chris pleaded with Ridem.
"No it wasn't this one," Ridem tosses Koneko to the side and turns to find Akeno also on the ground, "She was the one!" He grabs her throat and lifts her into the air. She fights him, but she's already desperately weakened from the last attack, "No… Stop it! Ridem, Leave her alone!"
"I have destroyed the Red Dragon of Destruction, The Blaze Meteor Dragon, and now I will destroy you, both in mind and body."
His grip on Akeno's neck tightens as she gasps for air. Her struggling begins to weaken as Chris moves quickly knock her loose from Ridem's grip. Chris cradles Akeno as he rests with her on the ground. She speaks weakly to him, "Chris… please, you're not… a monster. You have… this power for… a reason. It's… ok to use that… for good. Please… help us, help my family… help Issei and… Rias." Akeno goes limp in Chris's arms; he begins to cry holding onto Akeno. The ground begins to shake around Chris, progressively getting stronger. Ridem uses this time to strike Chris, plunging his sword through him. However, no blood came from it and the image faded, "What… where did he go!"
Chris appeared in front of Rias with Akeno still in his arms, "Rias… everyone, help the wounded and get away from here. This motherfucker is gonna die…"
Ridem turns to find Chris and starts to laugh, "Me? Die? Surely you jest, Oathbreaker!"
"Oh my god, fucking stop with the knight bullshit! These devils were innocent! I understand why I'm called Oathbreaker, you paladins destroy lives in the name of what? God? Order? These people, Issei, the Gremory's, Tannin, all the people in the underworld don't deserve this!"
"We were forged in the light of heaven to destroy the dragon kings, to tip the scales in the war for Heaven and you! You walked away from ALL OF IT! I will destroy you for turning your back on our order and our brothers!"
Chris's energy pulses as he walks to Ridem. Rias and the others that weren't hurt as badly helped those wounded to the ridgeline. Chris was able to focus all his energy on Ridem now. I hate this guy… he will pay for what he did to them, to Akeno, "You will suffer for what you did Paladin!" Chris yells and his power surges as he continues his walk toward Ridem. Ridem takes a step back, "His power is overwhelming. He will fall to my power and my sword." Ridem leaps as his sword forms in his hand, coming down onto Chris. Chris's arm blocks the paladin's sword with a plate of black armor, his eyes glowing that deep red once more as the black armor continues to cover his body. Chris grabs RIdem's forearm and pulls him in, delivering a solid headbutt. Ridem stumbles back, clutching his face, "Damn you! DAMN YOU!"
Chris pulls his hands in by his side and quickly unleashes a massive blast of energy at Ridem, sending him into the arenas walls. Ridem struggles but crawls out of the rubble. Tears start welling up in Chris's eyes, "You bastard, you hurt them. These people helped me when I had no idea what was going on! I was burdened with this power and didn't know how to handle it. Akeno was there for me, to help and push me when I needed it..." as Chris speaks his power surges and a glowing flame grows around him. He becomes airborne and looks down as Ridem, who finally emerges from the rubble, "Damn you Oathbreaker! How are you this strong?!"
"I am the monster among dragons for I am the fallen Paladin, Oathbreaker! My power shatters skies and splits the heavens! You will know and fear my power," Chris extends his arms out to the side as the same energy orbs form just outside of his hands, "SKYBREAKER!" With a massive roar, the same blast of energy from his bout with Sairaorg fired out his hands once again, heading directly to Ridem. The energy slams into Ridem and detonates on impact, forming another massive crater and sending debris all over the area. The smoke and debris settle and Ridem is left at the center of the crater, brought to his knees. His sword and shield were shattered, broken, and dissipating. Chris appears in front Ridem suddenly and grabs him by his head, picking him up off the ground; the broken paladins toes barely scrapped the ground under them. Chris's grip tightens as he slams RIdem back to the ground. Ridem gasps as blood spills from his mouth. Chris's fists glow as he starts pummeling Ridem, connecting to wherever his fists land. Chris yelled as his punches grew faster and stronger, his rage taking control. Ridem's armor couldn't take any more of the onslaught and broke apart, exposing his flesh. This did not stop Chris and he continued eventually stopping as blood was spraying from each punch now.
Chris stood up straight and took a step back, his arms bloody and heavy, "You... will... not win... Oathbreaker!" Ridem coughs up even more blood, "I am... not... the only... one. Everyone... you know and love... is in danger. You will... be vanquished." Chris's eyes return to normal as he picks up Ridem by the throat, gasping.
"I will fight them, all of them! I will protect my family, and you will get no glory of killing anyone today."
Chris punches through Ridem's chest. Ridem lets out one last gasp as his body dissipates.
Chris's armor dissipates as he falls to his knees out of exhaustion, "Akeno, I got him..." He faints.
Chris awakens back at the Bael family's manor in an immense amount of pain, bandages covered several areas of his body. Chris sat up slowly and moved to the side of the bed, placing his feet on the ground. His body felt stiff, like he'd been laying down for days. He slowly stood up and made his way to the bedroom door, using the furniture and walls to help support himself. The door opened as one of the housemaids gasped and rushed in to help Chris out of the bedroom, "Thank you so much... for the help."
"Don't mention it!"
They walk into a large room where everyone was sitting and talking, including some people Chris had never seen before. Akeno looks up and sees Chris, "Chris!" She rushes over to him and wraps her arms around him. Chris winces in pain, but wraps his arms around her lower back and rests his head on her shoulder, "I'm so happy your safe now. I'm so... so sorry." Tears welled up in Chris's eyes as she moved to look directly at him. Her hands softly pulled him close to her and she kissed him, "That's for saving us."
Chris blushes as the rest of the group gets up to meet with him, "I'm so glad everyone is safe, I'm so sorry for all of this." Rias also wraps her arms around Chris and kisses his cheek, "Thank you so much for fighting so hard to save my family and friends." Chris smiles at her and nods.
"It's the hero of the day, way to go kid!" Azazel said with a thumbs up.
"How long was I out for?"
"Only a couple days. We had people tend to you until you awoke. Akeno and even Koneko helped with bathing and taking care of you." Rias smiled.
"B-Bathing me?"
Akeno blushes and smiles, "Of course, you were out cold! You needed to be kept clean."
Koneko blushes as well, "I just wanted to help, yah know, since you helped us out and... all that."
Chris smirked, "Well, thanks... in any case. So... where do we go from here?"
Rias smiled and looked at Issei, "We'd like for you to officially join our house! You've proven that you are a more than capable warrior and frankly we could use another heavy hitter. You won't be able to help us with rating games, but as we've all seen, it seems to be the dangers outside of the rating games that we need the most help with."
"Rias is correct to a certain extent," Azazel walks up behind her, "You're technically not a devil or a piece in the house of Gremory, however after that display of power, the entire underworld is buzzing about the mighty warrior, Oathbreaker, joining the house of Gremory and the Grabbin' Dragon. I'm not sure there's a devil alive that wouldn't want a piece of all of you."
Chris started laughing, "Don't just gloss over that, the fucking what?"
Issei clenched his fists and raised them up in the air, "I'm the Grabbin' Dragon!"
Chris completely lost himself and laughed hysterically, "Oh shit, that's rich! You've seriously embraced that perverted side of yours, huh?"
"Fuck you, Chris! My pervertedness is how I got so strong and it's all because of these lovely lady lumps you see before me!"
Chris looked around as some of the girls started blushing. He smirks, "Oh... well lucky fucking duck..."
"Anyways! Now that you're up and moving around, we'll need to discuss our next move. As I said before your display of power has the entire underworld buzzing. This will undoubtedly cause opponents to start showing up at our doorstep looking for a fight with the house of Gremory. Did that Ridem character say anything to you before he was destroyed?"
Chris remembered back to the ominous words he was left with, "Yeah, he told me there are others like him... and they'll be coming for me. I don't want to cause your family anymore issues, Rias. I can't accept your offer; I would only bring your family more pain."
"Nonesense, my family is strong and you'd make us stronger. I want you here with us to be our protector, you've more than proven yourself for that task!"
Chris sighed, "Then... I accept. I will be your piece protector? Your board bodyguard? I'll just help where I can..."
"Nice save, weirdo." Koneko said quietly to Chris.
"As far as those 'opponents' you're talking about, I mean… who?"
"You see Chris, the Gremory house does not shy away from fighting leader class fallen angels or old Satan faction devils, hell even the Khaos Brigade. Some of the strongest among the strong. No doubt they will hear about the paladin of power and want to fight, they're devils... it's a thing." Azazel grumbled.
"Azazel, I'm offended you would say that! But you're not far off base..." Zeoticus laughed, "He speaks the truth, there will be others to come. Your power is not exactly welcomed now that your 'kin' have emerged once more."
"I give you my word, I will train and I will fight! I will not let any more pain and suffering come to this house." Chris clenched his fist and stood up the best he could.
"Yeah man, we'll stand together and destroy any twat waffles that decide to mess with the Gremory's! All while I become the Harem King!" Issei giggles to himself.
