Chapter 1

Night had fallen across Japan as a 17 year old boy walked along the street in absolute silence. He was heading home after just getting off from work. Exhausted, hungry and just wanting the day to be over, the nameless boy walked across the street.

Just as he neared the opposite side of the road, the hum of a truck suddenly grew extremely loud as it barreled down the road, directly towards the nameless boy.

The nameless boy didn't feel any pain as the truck slammed into him. However, the very next moment, the nameless boy opened his eyes to see himself now standing in a very unfamiliar location.

Creatures taken straight out of an MMO walked the streets. Carriages being pulled by wingless dragons, and stalls upon stalls of shops lined the streets.

This place was nothing like the nameless boy had seen before. It was absolutely fascinating. He was awestruck by everything.

It was too realistic to be a dream, so that meant everything he was seeing was one hundred percent real.

As if he cared.

If this was a new start for him, he'd take it. His life in Japan was absolutely terrible. Having had to drop out of school to work full time at a dead end job to support himself made the boy absolutely miserable.

But now, this was opportunity calling.

New start. New life. He could even change his name if he wanted to. No one knew him here and he was going to take absolute advantage of this.

The only thing the boy had on him were the contents of his pockets, which consisted of his wallet and phone. Other than that, he had absolutely nothing.

Wandering around to understand his new surroundings, the nameless boy did his best not to stare at the human-animal hybrids walking about.

Feeling his stomach suddenly growl at him, the nameless boy reached into his pocket to see how much money he had. Seeing quite a few yen, the boy walked over to a fruit stand. Seeing what looked like apples, he pointed to one.

"Can I get one of those?" he asked as he handed over some yen.

The shop keep took one glance at the money before shaking his head. "You from another country or somethin'?"

"Huh?"

"I don't accept anything other than coins here, kid." the shop keep told him. "Get lost!"

The nameless boy looked down. Turning away, he pulled out the yen in his wallet.

"What good is this if it can't buy me an apple?" he threw the yen on the ground, seeing as how it was useless here. "Fuckin' figures! Damnit! I'm gonna need a job..."

As if answering his call, someone tapped him on the shoulder.

"Excuse me?"

"Hm." looking back, the boy saw a gorgeous woman, around his age, maybe older, standing behind him. Her silver hair gleamed in the sunlight and her purple eyes pierced his. "Yeah?"

"If you're having money problems, the mansion I live in is currently hiring butlers."

"You'd seriously hire some guy off the street?" the boy asked.

"The decision isn't up to me, but to the mansion ruler. You'd have to ask him."

"It's worth a shot, I guess." the boy suddenly bowed respectfully. "My name is K-" he cut himself off. Remembering one of his first thoughts when he got here, the boy decided to act on it. He never really liked his name and always wanted to change it. And here was his chance.

Clearing his throat as he stood up straight, the boy apologized.

"My name is Itsuki Hinote."

The girl rubbed her arm as she stared at him. "E...Emilia."
