It was another hectic morning in the Wayne household. Bruce was just awakening to the sound of Ace's happy barking and the sound of loud boisterous kids. They had had a training-day the day before so Barbara had stayed the night. This meant that the house was extra loud this morning. Bruce smiled as he heard Dick's laughter above the rest of the group. After that one particularly bad night and a few semi bad nights the nightmares had slowed once again giving Dick a few nights of peace in between. So far they were holding steady for a whole 2 weeks of little to no nightmares. It was doing wonders for his state of mind. He was happier, more alert, and had a lot more energy to burn. Once again he was able to keep up with the two younger boys. Bruce and Jason were still waking up to check on him periodically throughout the night but so far so good. If this kept up he'd be back out on patrol during the few weeks Bruce would be gone at Watch Tower.

Fully dressed, Bruce made his way downstairs to where the epicenter of the chaos was located; the kitchen. Ace was following Alfred around hoping that the plate of bacon he was holding would hit the floor. Stephanie was sitting at the island in the kitchen texting on her phone around bites of eggs and sausage. She had a text book in front of her as well as a notebook full of her neat tiny print. It was written in a short hand that all his kids used for everything. It was something Dick came up with if they needed to leave messages for each other in case of emergency. Or if there will civilians in the area who weren't suppose to know what was going on. Allot of the bat's computer encryptions, and JLA computers were written the same way. Stephanie found that it had worked great as a shorthand for notes. It had been an interesting parent/teacher conference trying to explain to her history teacher as to what she was writing. The other kids soon followed the example much to their teacher's dismay and Bruce's amusement.

Bruce took the plate of bacon and eggs that Alfred handed him absentmindedly as he looked over his work notes, while at the same time watching the mock argument going on over by the toaster. Dick had a grin on his face while holding a pop tart just out of Tim's reach. Barbara stood nearby smirking at the two.

"Come on Dick! That's the last S'mores pop tart! Give it back." Tim wined as he tried to reach for said pop tart. Dick smirked as he dangled it just out of the younger boys reach.

"Oh I don't know about that. I found this poor pop tart all by its lonesome in the toaster. And you know what they say about finder's keepers." Dick said teasingly. Barbara rolled her eyes with a grin before jabbing her finder into Dick's side getting the desired yelp of surprise. The surprise jab was enough for Dick to lower his hand enough for Tim to snatch his pop tart back and run for the other end of the Kitchen. Dick gave a playful glare at the redhead as she snickered at him.

"That was so not fair Babs. I could have had him at that for another 5 minutes." Dick wined playfully. Barbara just rolled her eyes good naturedly as she headed over to the fridge to get out the orange juice. Dick grumbled a bit before heading over to the island and taking the plate of eggs and sausage that Alfred slid over to him.

Bruce smirked and rolled his eyes but let the antics be without rebuke. It was nice to see some life come back into Dick that he didn't have the heart to scold him. Besides it was harmless teasing between pseudo siblings/teammates. If they didn't tease and get on each other's nerves every once and a while he'd think something was terribly wrong with them. Looking around as he made his way to his seat he noticed he was missing the two trouble makers of their little rag tag family. Jason, he assumed was probably still just waking up but Damian being missing was worth being worried about. It never bode well when that little prankster was MIA even for 5 minutes. Bruce looked around for his young son praying that he wasn't up to no good. He turned to ask Alfred or Dick if they had seen the youngest member of the household only to see Jason wander into the room. He had his backpack strapped to his back and his head phone blaring into his ears as he headed for the garage door for his bike. Bruce gave a look to Alfred as if to say "has he eaten"; Alfred shook his head before returning to the stove to finish up with the bacon that he had frying. Bruce nodded before grabbing Jason's left headphone off his ear instantly stopping the boy who gave a surprised glare in Bruce's direction.

"Uh uh; get some breakfast before you go heading out the door kiddo." Bruce said with a stern but affectionate glare. Jason rolled his eyes and sighed before grinning. Quickly grabbing the bacon off of Stephanie's plate and the toast off of Dick's before chugging down Barbara's orange juice, Jason laughed at the yelps of indignation he got from the girls. He then rushed out the garage door. Bruce and Dick both rolled their eyes before Bruce tossed a piece of toast off his own plate to Dick. Dick grinned before continuing to chow down on his breakfast.

It was all relatively quiet for a few moments before all Hell broke loose once again. There was a crash and then a roar that sounded distinctly like an enraged Jason that made everyone but Alfred jump. Suddenly the room was once again in chaos as a blur of green and yellow came tearing through the kitchen being chased by a much larger blue and red blur. Damian's cackling, that could give the Joker a run for his money, was the only indication on whom exactly the smaller blur was. Bruce only had a second to sigh and wish he had tried to find the younger boy sooner before both blurs came rampaging back through the kitchen almost causing his plate to go flying. Only Alfred's quick reflexes kept Ace from getting a second breakfast.

"Sorry Sir but Ace has already eaten this morning. Maybe it would be better to sit this down." Alfred smirked, well use to the chaos that was Damian by now.

Bruce rolled his eyes as both boys came screaming through the room once again now with Ace happily barking as he followed close behind in what he seemed to think was a friendly game of chase. Stephanie rolled her eyes.

"Ok I am going to go ahead and head for school. There's no way I'm going to be able to finish these notes with this craziness going on." Stephanie grumbled as she packed up her textbooks and papers before heading towards the garage door. She would have made it too if both of the boys hadn't chosen that moment to come tearing through the room again. Stephanie was able to sidestep the boys but not all 250lbs of German shepherd that was tearing his way around the corner as well. Dick winced as both dog and girl collided in a heap on the floor with a yelp. Stephanie gave a groan as Ace stood up and off of her. The large dog giving a great shake of his head before turning to sniff Stephanie who glared at the poor dog.

"You are so not getting a treat when I get back home." Ace just cocked his head before licking the girls face getting an indignant yelp that soon turned to giggles. "Ok, ok you worthless mutt, get of me." Stephanie giggled as she tried to push the massive dog off of her. Ace just barked happily before sitting down to pant as he watched Damian and then Jason continue their reign of terror through the house.

Bruce, seeing that both Stephanie and Ace were alright, now turned to the two trouble making boys. Enough was enough. The boys were going to either hurt each other, which was nothing new really, or someone else, also not something new, if they didn't quit it. Just as the two came through the kitchen for the 6th time Bruce reached out and grabbed both boys by the collar of their hoodies. He got a yelp from Damian and an indignant grunt from Jason. Damian tried to use his momentum to swing out of his father's grasp but that just caused Bruce to heft him up around his middle and hold on to him like a foot ball. Damian tried to twist out of his father's grasp but Bruce wasn't the Batman for nothing.

"Ok you two that's enough already." Bruce said as sternly as possible without laughing himself. Both boys grumbled but ceased their struggling while crossing their arms. Bruce rolled his eyes. The two were more alike than they would ever admit to anyone. "Now what exactly happened?" Bruce said turning to both boys in turn. Both boys glared at the ground and refused to say anything. "Ok either one of you tell me what happened of both of you will be clean the Bat cave for a month as well as washing the Bat mobile." Both boys gapped at Bruce before looking at each other. Then they both pointed at each other.

"His fault!" "No its not!" "Yes it is!" Both boys said at the exact same time. Bruce tried not to smirk at the boys antics while Barbara and Dick tried not to die laughing. Both Damian and Jason stuck their tongues out at them then glared at each other.

"Ok you two real answers or it's clean up duty for a month in the Bat cave." Bruce said. Jason grumbled before answering

"Damian caused me to fall over my bike and lose my breakfast." Jason grumbled out. Bruce raised an eyebrow at that before looking over to Damian to confirm Jason's statement. Damian grinned.

"Technically I just popped out and said hi. It's not my fault Jason's jumpier than cat woman." Damian said with a roll of his eyes."

"What! I am not jumpier than some dang cat!"

"Ha! Are too; you jumped so high you would have given a kangaroo a run for its money."

"Say What!?"

"Alright already!" Bruce bellowed out. "Jason grab something else for breakfast, Damian sit down and eat some breakfast. And both of you quit driving the other crazy. I'm going to be gone for a few weeks and I don't want to hear from Alfred that you two come close to killing each other!" Both boys looked down and grumbled before doing as they were told. Bruce shook his head at them both. Leave it to Damian to rile up Jason. And leave it to Jason to let Damian get under his skin. Hadn't he not just told Jason almost a week ago not to let Damian get under his skin?

20 minutes later he and Alfred had all the kids under his roof off to school. Jason took his bike; Stephanie's squad leader from her cheerleading squad came and gave both Stephanie and Barbara a ride to school. Tim's and Damian's bus showed up soon after. Dick was the last kid to leave but only because he had his license and could take his motorcycle and get to school on time. Bruce was the last to leave with Alfred pulling the car around for him. Soon they too were off towards Wayne Industries.

Bruce sighed in the back seat of the car with a smile on his face. Mornings were chaotic but he wouldn't have it any other way.
