Book II: Impending Twilight
Chapter 121: A preparation for war
Point of View Kana
It was minutes after my escape from the espeon, Nora, that I made my way back into the veins of the Genesis facility. Blood continued to trickle down from the punctured holes scattered throughout my torso. With hoarse breaths I threw myself forward, one agonizing step at a time. But I couldn't think of the pain, I didn't really feel it, I just felt something else. Emptiness.
I couldn't even understand what this meant. I'm a pokemon and I know it, I had to be real. If I was fake, then what did my life mean? But she wasn't lying. I knew she couldn't have been lying, the truth was right there in front of me.
I'm not a pokemon. I have no soul. I can't have a family. I'm just some organic toy for them. I'm nothing. I'm such an insignificant being, I won't even get to live a full life. It wouldn't matter though, with the way things are heading I'll be dead long before a natural death anyways. All I really want is for it just to be quick. But none of this was going quick, this was the most agonizing death anyone could ever feel. To be physically broken, and then to have your heart broken like that, only to be forced to walk this earth as a dead jolteon, being humiliated by knowing what I am.
With each step down the hall I took, I felt myself slowing, losing any drive I had. Before all of this I just wanted to go home. But how would I face everyone? I couldn't live every day lying to everyone, knowing that it's only a matter of time before they figure out what I am.
"Why did I have to figure this out," I cried, feeling the warmth of my tears falling again. I sobbed as I fell against the wall for support.
"It's not fair!" I shouted. My body collapsed, leaving a long bloody smear on the wall. I pressed both of my paws over my head. My claws dug into my scalp, ripping at the skin. I just wanted to tear it all off, every last piece of my fake body. This just couldn't end fast enough.
"Get up," I muttered to myself. Biting a my lip, I pushed myself back onto all fours and struggled down the hall. Maybe I didn't want to live like this, but I also refused to die here. I wasn't going to give them that.
'One more step' was what I had to repeatedly tell myself each time I felt like falling. It felt pointless, but repeating the words gave me something else to focus on. If I wanted to survive I had to try and keep my mind on the objective.
It was a struggle, but I managed my way through the facility. Before I knew it, I managed to get an elevator all the up to the top floor. There still weren't many humans around, and the few guards I did encounter I hid from. I wasn't sure if news broke out about me yet, or if they'd notice my wounds and take me in. Either way I felt it was best to be unseen.
Limping further down an empty hall, I stumbled upon a map of the base. All throughout the facility these things were scattered, it just happened this was the first I came across since my escape. I carefully searched it up and down until I found the exit. Of course I knew it wasn't going to be that easy. I remembered passing by it once. It was heavily locked down, and you had to go through a lot of security to get through. Not only that, they didn't let you come in or leave unless you had permission.
I gave a grunt from frustration. This seemed impossible to me. How was I going to get out? Before I could ponder things too much the sound of feet moving in came from both directions. My head turned back and forth just in time to see a team of humans and pokemon coming in from each side.
"Target located, awaiting orders," a human spoke into a radio.
I froze on the spot, not daring to resist. That is until a thought came into my head, 'they'll only hurt me more.' With a snarl my teeth clamped down as I charged electricity through me.
"I'm not going back with you!" I shouted, shooting out a bolt at the center of the group. The electricity crackled as everyone jumped away, creating an opening. I lowered to the ground, before rocketing off between the opening with a blurring speed. My heart pumped an adrenaline through me like nothing I've ever felt. All my mind could scream was "run."
At a crossing, I turned to see more Genesis soldiers moving in from one direction, and without looking to check I went down another hall. The spray of bullets went off, and the hot whizzes of bullets just missing passed. Still taking fire, I planted all four paws to the ground, braking into a quick turn down another hall. But I only made it five steps before my entire body locked up mid run. A flaring purple light surrounded me as I struggled to break free of the power holding me. Within second the humans and pokemon of the Genesis had me surrounded. Every gun was pointed at me, every elemental attack of a pokemon ready to tear me apart.
"Now, now, that's enough." The guards made way for a alakazam. He walked to me and leaned in till his lips were just over my ear. In a whisper he spoke. "You'll come with me, or the human dies." At that instant the force holding me released. I spun to the alakazam who already had his back towards me.
"You, you're-"
"Zero," the alakazam finish for me. "All of you, back to your duties." He gave a wave of his hand. At first everyone was hesitant, but after the first person left, they all followed without a word. After, it was just the two of us.
"What do you want from-"
"Follow me, jolteon," he ordered and began walking. I didn't want to but I followed behind him at a good distance.
"The human, John Hayter, he almost caused a large amount of trouble for Genesis," Zero began. "Too bad really, he was one of our best scientists, and well over paid. Do you know what's in that necklace around your neck?"
My body tightened up from the reminder. My eyes glanced down to the capsule dangling around me.
"I haven't a clue."
The alakazam turned back to inspect me, but turned back after his quick glance. "I see. Then I will inform you of what your human almost set in motion," Zero went on, not looking back once. "Has John told you anything about Genesis's plan launching at the end of this year?"
"I know nothing, he's kept me in the dark about everything," I answered more bitterly than I meant to.
"Our research has been going on for a very long time now, but imagine a micro cell created through science that has the ability to subconsciously manipulate a human or pokemon. Now, keep in mind that no one has ever seen technology like this, Genesis is many years ahead of any other research facilities."
"So, what does this have to do with me? Why would John trust this capsule to me, what's even in it?" I desperately asked, moving closer to the alakazam.
"We have reason to suspect that John Hayter is working with another traitor by the name Rhys. If that is true, then the nano cell you have been given are something to counteract ours."
"Listen, I want no part in this battle going on. I just want to go home, and if you let me do that I promise I'll disappear forever. You'll never see me again, I just want to be with my family."
The alakazam gave a dull laugh. "If I wanted I could have you murdered right here and that would be the end. I'd get what's in the capsule, and you would be just as useful dead on the ground as you would be with your family."
I stopped in my tracks. It was clear to me now why we were talking. "What do you want from me? I'm just a jol-… I'm nothing."
Zero faced me, crouching down low as he held my chin, making our eyes meet. "So much doubt, and you have no idea how much potential you have. You could easily train yourself to be strong enough to crush any pokemon, but you are so convinced that you're weak that you never allowed yourself to grow."
I pulled back from Zero, averting from all eye contact. He was wrong, I wasn't strong. What potential could I have now?
"Why me?" I uttered.
"Because, you're close to the umbreon Ryder. And that makes you worth more than any jolteon in this facility. Allow me, Kana, to show you just what you can do."
Point of View Flare
It was now very late at night, well past visiting hours in the pokecenter. Alex had left long ago, and for what may have been the last time I got to spend time with him. I really was happy to see him, it really meant a lot. I could tell it meant a lot to him too. But it was unfortunate that things had to come to an end so quickly.
"So, you really want to leave tonight?" Gray asked from across the room. I threw my feet over the end of the bed, taking one last minute.
"Yeah, it has to be this way." Carefully, I got down from the bed, feeling a deep burn in my injured foot. I sucked in a breath, nearly falling.
"You're not rea-"
"I'll never be ready for this!" I snapped back. "I have to go now!"
"I'm aware of how you feel," Gray replied, walking to me. "But, you're still recovering from your injuries."
"I'll make it, I have to."
Gray gave a long sigh. "This is really what you want? To leave behind Alex and all your friends to chase a pokemon who may know something of your sister?"
"Zylen's like family to me. Even if he doesn't know, at least I can be with him. After what happened, I can't go back to Alex, not for a very long time at least."
Gray gave a thoughtful nod, "Given the circumstances, you're probably not wrong. If they find you after you broke out of their custody, they'll charge you with far more."
"Yeah, plus I think it's best if I get out of Lumiose for a while. Maybe Zylen could give me somewhere to hang low, if I can't find my sister that is."
"I wouldn't count on anything," Gray bluntly stated, before grumbling. "Flare, listen. I don't know if Snowbelle is the place you want to go right now."
"Why not, that's where Zylen was last seen."
"I'm aware of that, but a lot is going on in Snowbelle right now. Most likely there will be a lot of WPA members there. And I can't guarantee you'll go unnoticed there."
"What do you mean, why?"
"A lot of WPA members are being called in to Snowbelle's WPA base. I don't know all the details right now, but apparently someone from WPA has stepped forward and has revealed information leading to the head of Genesis."
"and they believe this person? What if it's a trap?"
Gray shrugged. "Who knows, but the information is already out, and we're making preperations to act. Apparently for reasons that weren't stated we are low on time and have to get there as soon as possible."
I leaned back against my bed, thinking of what this could even mean. Would Zylen even stay there if a war was about to occur?
"And what about you?"
"I'm supposed to be leaving at dawn for Snowbelle. As for my role in this war, I'm unsure."
"Oh, I see," I grew awkwardly quiet from that. The thought of Gray fighting in a war wasn't really pleasant. Last thing he needed was more weight on his shoulders. "And is that what you want? To fight someone else's battle?"
"It is Flare, but it's not someone else's battle, it's everyone's. I can't simply ignore an organization that's committing crimes against innocents."
"You ignored me though… Okay," I gave a single nod. "I'm afraid I need to start moving. It's late now and I want to sneak out while the pokecenter is empty." I started making my way towards the door.
"And you're sure you'll be able to make it in your condition?" Gray asked, still lingering in the room.
I gave a smirk back towards him. "I've made it this far, I think I can manage a bit more."
"Then I wish you luck, Flare."
Third person point of view
It had only been within the past hour in the late hours of the night that some of the WPA members were finally able to unite in Snowbelle.
A council of different pokemon all discussed matters together at a conference table. There were five members, one being Zack, an elder delphox with graying fur, a heavily scarred charizard, a meowth who looked half asleep, and Rhys who still hid in his marowak form. Amongst the council were three other empty spots, no doubt for the members who couldn't be here yet. Not that they were missing much, all anyone seemed to do in here was yell over each other, claiming that Rhys was setting them up.
"Might I make a suggestion," Rhys spoke over the arguing pokemon. He adjusted the old skull over his head, taking a long stare at everyone. "It's very clear I am not trusted amongst any of you. Then maybe to earn trust I could expose the locations of Genesis's smaller facilities. With the numbers you have amassed you could easily crush the bases, then take their resources for your own cause. Just a thought though."
The delphox cleared his raspy throat, "And where might these bases be?"
"I can name two in Snowbelle off the top of my head. And it might actually be wise to start with these two bases over attacking Ghost directly. The two bases, known as Andromeda and Gemini bring in supplies to the main Genesis base. I would even go as far as to say they're mostly just a supplies line for where Ghost is. If you take out these two bases you'll be cutting two lines of supplies to him, and weakening his chances of defending."
The charizard was the next one to speak. "Yeah, then there goes any chance of catching Ghost by surprise. You'll alert him and he might just call in for reinforcements from the other bases all around Kalos!"
The delphox shook his head. "That might be true, I'm afraid."
"But hold on," the meowth injected. "Rei says these two bases acts as supply lines to the main Genesis base. We could use that to sneak someone into the main Genesis facility. Then, they could recon the area, sabotage anything that could be dangerous, and set things up for our main assault."
"That could be an option," Rhys noted. "Send in a zoroark to take the role of a worker, then have him bring in supplies to the other Genesis base. That would get you directly in, but it'd be risky."
"Agreed, that is a very risky move," the delphox commented. "But according to you, time is of the essence, and we might need to make a dangerous move."
"We'll use a ghost," Zack said. "We can have one phase into the supplies and hide, that way we don't have to risk sending in a zoroark who might get caught. A ghost could move swiftly through the base without being noticed."
"Very true," the meowth agreed. "But we still have matters to discuss of how our main assault will work."
"I'll lead it," the charizard started. "I'll burn them all out of hiding, every last-"
"I suggest Dawn," Rhys spoke up.
Everyone in the room turned their stare towards the disguised marowak.
"Have you lost your mind?" Zack muttered. "Dawn may be a capable fighter, but she's not mentally fit to handle it. She's seen too much to be able to handle anymore."
"It was Genesis who broke her, let her break them in return. Don't deny her a revenge she's yearned for her entire life."
"And just what do you know of Dawn?!" The charizard smashed his fist down, cracking the conference table.
Rhys didn't budge an inch, only watched the charizard. "I know a lot, as I'm sure you do. But, I truly do believe Dawn should be the one to deal the first blow to Genesis. She's strong enough to handle it."
"We will take that into consideration, Rei," the delphox dismissed the topic.
Point of View Annie
It was now late at night, too late to be up getting dinner. Yet here I was, in another one of those weird holes in the ground where Zylen had a friend who knew something we needed. The two of us both took a seat at a bar. Zylen wasted no time lighting up a cigarette as he ordered the two of us drinks.
The setting here seemed pretty rowdy, most of the humans and pokemon looked mean, but they minded their business. Some bickered amongst each other, arm wrestled, played darts but with knives. Worst of all, I could've done without the thick smoke from the fifty other people smoking here. I buried my head in my arms, just barely peeking out. The bartender set a drink in front of me. I couldn't even remember the last time I had alcohol, and on top of that I got drunk way too easy. The last thing I need way for Zylen to have to carry me to wherever we were crashing tonight.
"So," Zylen began, taking a swig of his drink. "I'm looking for someone," Zylen looked at the vigoroth server who was wiping a glass clean with a stained rag. Another reason I wouldn't drink, cleanliness wasn't a concern here.
"Of course you are, Shade," the vigoroth muttered something below his breath before leaning in close to the zoroark. "You still owe me you know?"
"I haven't forgotten, but this is urgent," Zylen replied, putting his cigarette out on the bar.
"You still owe me," he growled again. "And I'm not doing anything until I get something in return."
Zylen sighed, "Alright, what do you want?"
"Heh, what do I want?" the vigoroth sneered as he placed a claw on his chin, before his eyes wandered towards me. My head rose up as he continued to look me up and down. "Who's the braixen?"
"A friend," Zylen muttered.
"Heh, if she's just a friend," the vigoroth leaned in and whispered something into Zylen's ears. The vigoroth's grin widened, before Zylen's face gave a twitch. In a quick movement, Zylen grabbed the vigoroth's head with both hands and slammed it down onto the bar, leaving a bloody splatter.
"Mother fucker!" he screamed as he yanked his head free, holding a hand over his crookedly bent nose.
Everyone in the bar stopped talking as they all turned to us.
"Stop your whining," Zylen snapped. "I've had a very long month, and I'm in no mood for you to suggest what you just did about my friend! Now, I'll tear every single bastard in this bar to pieces, or you can just call a friend and tell me where the fuck The White Reaper is!"
"Her?" the vigoroth uttered, before snapping his nose back in place. "You broke my fucking nose for that?!" he spat blood out into the cup he just finished cleaning (maybe he was going to make a bloody mary…)
"Oh, so what, is it that easy to know?!" Zylen stood, raking his claws into the wood of the bar. I got up to, but inched back from the fight as I reached towards my tail for my stick.
"Fucking moron, the WPA recently called the majority of their members to Snowbelle. So, I'd guarantee she's heading there now!"
"Wait, Snowbelle?" Zylen's jaw dropped. "Son of a- We were just there!"
"Now get the fuck out of this bar before I have you taken out back and stabbed," the vigoroth snarled. "And if I ever see you around here again, expect the worst to come."
"Come on," Zylen grabbed me by the wrist and forcibly dragged me out with him. Although, I wasn't exactly opposed to the plan. I'm pretty sure we wore out our welcome for life.
When back outside in the city we were both met with a strong wind mixed with flurries of snow. I shivered as I hugged myself, looking up at the clouds. The moon peeked through, offering a small amount of illumination in the city streets.
"Did you really have to smash his head into the bar?" I asked.
"What, are you telling me you'd want to go with what that pig was wanting? He's an ass."
I gave a sneer towards him, "Anything to make you jelly."
"Jelly, really?" Zylen scowled. "You do what you want with him, and enjoy the scabies that come with it."
"Eww, are you serious?!"
"Probably, people like him don't have many standards. I mean look, he was even trying to get with you."
I just gave a monotonous laugh, "You're mean," I teased, before finding a seat at a bench. Zylen took a seat next to me, leaning back into the bench.
"Anyways, looks like we got some back tracking to do. I can't believe it, we were just there a day ago pretty much."
"It's not far though," I reassured him.
"I know, but we're running low on time." Zylen gave a long sigh as he pressed his palm to his forehead. I just frowned at the sight. It felt like he was always showing these signs at every part of the day.
It was more than visible he was beyond stressed. He even said it to the vigoroth, 'this has been a very long month', and I'm to blame. Zylen was going through all of this stress because of me, and never has he asked for anything in return… Knowing that he never would, it kind of felt awful. He was my closest friend and I've never once did anything to thank him, past verbally saying it to him.
"Hey Zylen," I began as I leaned into him. "You've been helping me a lot for years, yet I've never actually done anything for you. Is there anything you want?"
"Me?" Zylen slid down the bench out of surprise, causing me to nearly fall against the hard bench.
"Ow," I winced as I pushed myself back up, but looked back at the surprised zoroark. "Yeah, what can I do for you?"
Zylen gave a dry laugh, "Wow, I umm wasn't expecting that."
"Are you saying you never expected me to return the favor?"
"No, no, not that. I just didn't really ever think about it is all."
"How though? Don't you ever get annoyed with me constantly asking for things from you? I mean you almost died multiple times because of me, and yet I've never done anything. Doesn't that upset you in the slightest." My hand clenched at my wrist out of guilt.
"I guess I just did everything I did because I care about you," Zylen shrugged. "I mean, I've known you my whole life. So, I just want to keep you happy and safe, even if you are high maintenance."
"Okay, well name one thing you want, anything, and I'll do what I can to make it happen."
"You don't have to do-"
"I want to, Zy," I insisted.
Zylen placed a finger to his chin, "Hmmm, what would I want?" Zylen sat in place thinking for nearly a minute, before his eyes flickered back to life. "Oh, I know."
"What is it?" But just as I asked Zylen grabbed onto my shoulder.
"Alright, you said anything. Then I want what the vigoroth wanted, the full ride." Zylen gave a toothy grin. All at once my heart rate skyrocketed up along with me as I threw myself from the bench and his grip. A burn ignited under my cheeks as I backed away.
"Wait-what?!" I yelled, nearly wanting to faint from just how unexpected that was. "But… but, that's really what you want?" I shrieked, too embarrassed to control my reaction. "I mean… If that's really what you want… then I'll… I'll, do-
"Whoa, I was only kidding," Zylen began to laugh. "You really thought I'd take advantage of you like that?!" Zylen's laughs became hysteric as he held his gut. "Oh man, I really wish I had that on video, that would have gone viral!"
"Zylen this is serious!" I stomped my foot onto the ground, feeling an even deeper burn on my face. I couldn't believe I just admitted I'd sleep with him for his joke!
"Alright, alright," Zylen said between laughs. "I'm sorry I couldn't resist. But, you really want to do something for me?"
"Jeez, after that I might just count that as your choice."
"Oh, bummer because I just had an idea."
Despite being too terrified to ask again, I did, "Okay, if it's serious, then what is it?"
"Well, after all of this is done, and we find your brother, let's just leave for a while."
"Huh?" My head cocked to the side in confusion of what he was getting at.
"I mean, the three of us, you, me and Flare, we all go somewhere like on a vacation or something. For the first time in years we can just relax, have fun, get away from all of this bull crap."
"So you want a get away?"
"Pretty much. I mean I don't know about you, but I'm ready for a very long vacation."
"Alright, well I can accept that request. Although it feels more like you're doing something for me then the other way around."
"Ughh fine, pay for the travelling fees or something then."
"Fine, I'll pay for all of the travelling fees. I'll even be sure to get us the best transportation possible."
"There you go, now you're repaying me."
I gave Zylen another smile. I knew it was just a stupid excuse for him to make me feel better, but at the same time I couldn't help but love the idea. After all these years I could finally take a break, do something fun, spend time with my brother and just talk to Zylen about stuff that isn't depressing. When all of this is over, I'm going to be sure that happens.
Point of View Aiden
It was cold down here, really cold. Down here there was very little light, little to no hope. I could never tell the time of day, and the closest thing I got to a social output where the screams and cries of the other pokemon here. There was also the option of talking to Lucy, but since our arrival here she's been silent. No witty comment or anything could bring her out of her state. Seeing her like that was actually pretty nerve wrecking.
I gave a sigh as I leaned into the cold wall. I stared through the glass of my cell, looking into the many cells of the other pokemon. Many cells carried anywhere from one to four pokemon, but none ever really talked. Most lied around in pain, and it was hard to watch.
Sure, a cool guy like me would always talk about how I was going to bust out, kick some ass, and then bring justice and some bull crap like that. Honestly, seeing the way this place was, I wasn't even sure if I wanted to act tough anymore. I might actually die here… I really might actually die in a place like this.
I fell to my side and just watched my tail flame. It flickered in the darkness of the room. For what I had to guess was an hour I remained in that position, until the lights to the cellblock blinded me. I covered my eyes, and many of the pokemon who I assumed were dead rose to watch. I crawled to the edge of my cell and managed to catch a glimpse of a human walking down our way.
I gave a gasp as I scurried to my feet and backed as far back into my cell as I could. The group of humans came within a second and stopped in front of my cell. Heavily armed guards all got into formation as one of them opened the cell.
"Both of you are to come with us, any attempts of resistance will be rewarded with a swift bullet to the head." One of the humans spoke. "Now, get up and stand in the middle of the hall. Three guards will follow from behind, three will take the front. If you break this formation you will be executed on the spot. Now move."
Not wasting a second, I did as the human said. I got in the middle of that hall and held my hands up. Lucy on the other hand still didn't move a muscle.
"You deaf?" one of the guards spoke as he reached in, but just as he did Lucy ensnared his hand in a thorny vine, wringing out his wrist. The human flailed as he tried to raise up his other gun, but another vine grabbed him, forcing him to drop his weapon.
"That's enough!" A shot fired from the rifle into the air, and the entire room fell dead silent. Lucy's vines retracted as she stood up. The victim of her attack struggled to pick up his rifle as he moved to the back.
"Son of a bitch, that hurt!" He grimaced at the bloody cuts covering him.
"Just forget it," another spoke up, "fucker will get what's coming. Apparently Ghost wants information from her."
"Start walking!" Another human barked. Lucy and I both did as we were told, and we moved down the cell block, but away from the way we came.
"Where are we go-"
"Shut it," a human demanded.
My heart started to race as we moved further down the cell block. While this way wasn't a guaranteed death, I knew they always took pokemon out the other way, so why bring us down this path? As we did venture further down, I noticed that everyone was watching. The hall became darker as we made our way towards the end, and what waited at the end were two large steel doors. One of the humans broke off from the group to pull them open and I grabbed my ears as the steel screamed as it dragged along the floor.
Slowly, we were all escorted into a well-lit room. Inside, a man waited with his back turned. A steel table covered with rust separated us.
"You can leave us," the man spoke.
"Sir, the servine has been-"
"I gave an order, now go," the man's voice became cold, sending a shiver through me.
None of the humans said a word, they just left the room and closed the door behind them, leaving just us. The human kept his back turned to us.
"Come closer," he instructed.
Lucy and I did as we were told. When closer to the table my eyes widened as I covered my mouth. I was wrong, it wasn't rust covering the table, it was all dried up blood, still somewhat fresh. The human turned, revealing himself for the first time. The man had very little hair, only having a beard that connected with his mustache, and a disgusting scar on his left cheek. While it didn't look like a burn, it still looked like something went horribly wrong. The human straightened his tie, and wiped some of the blood from his vest.
"This can only go two ways for the two of you. You can tell me where you hid the strains of nanites you had on you, or you can try and resist and-" the human stopped, he just simply looked down at the table and rubbed his finger along the dried up blood. "You'll end up like the last poor fellow who didn't want to cooperate."
Swallowing the spit in my mouth, I blurted out a response. "I don't know anything about this stuff, can I go…"
The human didn't acknowledge a word I said and focused his eyes on Lucy. "Reveal the location of where it is, and I promise no harm will come to you or your friend. You'll be allowed to live in my new world, a world of peace. Is this cruel world we live in now really worth protecting?"
Lucy still didn't say a word in response.
"Your lips are sealed, fine then, you can be stubborn, but every day you resist me is another day you will be here, and another day I will subject you to any means of torture I see fit to get what I want. It's only a matter of time before you break."
"Wait, torture!" I screamed. "Listen, I don't know anything, I just happened to be-"
"You chose to ally yourself with her. You can suffer with her, and each day she can know you're suffering with her for no reason."
"What is it you even want?!"
"Why don't you ask your snake friend." The human turned his back away. "Guards!" Within that second the humans stormed back into the room, ready for another command. "Take these pokemon back to their cell. See to it that they talk."
"Yes sir," a human nodded.
"Wait, I don't know anything!"
Point of View Kana
"Just do everything you would do normally, that's all I ask, Dear Kana." The alakazam drove a needle deep into my neck. I bit down as something was injected into me, but just as quickly as it started it ended and he withdrew the needle, leaving my vein throbbing as I felt something coursing through me.
"I don't get it though, why would you want me to go back to everyone, how does it benefit you?" I asked, feeling a migraine all of a sudden.
"You needn't understand what we ask, Kana, you'll understand that without me soon enough. Just remember our deal."
Chapter End
Author Note: Alrighty, finally I managed to make the chapter update within my two week goal. The past two chapters have been shorter I've noticed, that's not a new thing, but I just felt that I wanted to end those chapters where I did.
Important: I think I've mentioned this once before my hiatus but I am highly considering a new username. By the next chapter I will possibly have a new username which will by Noir or something along those lines. Depends what the internet will let me have XD. If my name doesn't change then that means I might just be waiting or changed my mind. Either way, keep an eye out for the name Noir or maybe 1Noir (Like 1MrGray).
Thanks to everyone who has been reading, and I really appreciate all of those who are reviewing, I always enjoy what most of you have to say. And thanks to genericgamer207 for beta reading.
