Alexis was sound asleep and Rick and Kate were lying on their sides facing each other with Alexis between them. Kate was smiling as Rick was feeding her by hand pieces of fruit from one of the very romantic plastic container.
Rick had only gotten four pieces of friend chicken so it was already gone. They'd only barely drunk any of the champagne but there was still time.
The next piece he offered he kept taking it away from her and now Kate was reaching out with her mouth to chase after it. That was when Rick began kissing her.
Kate kissing him and she had soon lost any interest in what fruit was still left. She reached out to cup his face and continued kissing him. She carefully put a hand down so she didn't fall and land on Alexis and kept kissing him.
That was when suddenly she felt Rick's hand on one of her breasts which had her moaning as she kept kissing him. It wasn't until his hand actually started to mold her breast like a soft lump of clay that she stopped kissing him.

Kate was holding his hand as they were back to walking through the gardens again. A quick diaper change and Alexis was in her stroller as she watched all the new sights that held her interest.

"Just as soon as I don't have another class. I'm driving." She decided she liked having a car even if it was an expensive one.
"I knew you would give in," Rick told her and got Kate to laugh. For her it was Sophie that had gotten to her.

They were driving home when Alexis started crying in her back seat. "Do I stop?" Kate wasn't sure just where she could stop.
"Just get us home and we can take care of it all," Rick assured her. "We did this all the way up here."
That gave Kate a hint of just what Rick had gone through to get here before she did and she had flown once she was actually in the air.

Rick whisked a wailing Alexis out of her seat and into the house, leaving Kate behind to collect everything else. She was still wailing as Kate entered the house and got a bottle ready. She felt bad that she had insisted on a date with Alexis. Perhaps she was still too young to be included on their dates. But that meant they would need a babysitter and Sophie was too far away.
Kate handed over the bottle that was ready when Rick walked in with a wailing Alexis. "I'm sorry." She felt this was her fault.
"We did this all the way up here. It's okay." Rick took the bottle and retreated to the living room. Kate did notice that his suit coat was now missing and his shirt was even more unbuttoned.
Kate chose to join them on the sofa and watched a now quiet Alexis take her bottle. "Maybe a quick date instead of a long lunch?" Kate suggested quietly.
Rick's problem was that he thought that was a quick date so he didn't know what was quicker.

Alexis was fed, burped, and sound asleep as Rick came back and sat next to her. "There's no permanent damage done, Kate. Wait until she learns to talk and really starts complaining." Rick knew he still had a lot to look forward to.
Kate was leaning up against Rick and resting when he gently turned her head and began kissing her. And yes, she kissed him back.

"Thanks." Kate raised up to kiss him with passion this time. "Bye, Alexis." Kate kissed her too and hurried to her bike at the front door. She stuffed her lunch into her backpack and put it on her back.
"I'm cooking tonight unless you want Chinese, girlfriend." Rick told her.
Kate stopped and grinned. "Chinese would be nice or that Japanese BBQ if you can find it. Boyfriend." Kate told hold of her bike, carefully went out the front door and made it past her car in the driveway without scratching anything. She put her foot on her pedal, pushed off and mounted her bike, and then began peddling.
"What do you think, Alexis? Japanese BBQ? Oh and we need to find a box or two of condoms." He was making love to her one of these nights. If she thought his eating her pussy had been amazing, she hadn't seen anything yet. They'd only just gotten started.
"Coming to San Francisco was definitely a good idea," Rick told Alexis as he picked up her carrier and took it to the table. He had to keep working on his book. However, he only just made it when his phone started ringing so he to go back with Alexis.
"Hello?" Rick was betting it was Johanna thanks to the time difference but she had just missed her.
Rick heard a woman's voice. "Richard Castle, I'm Gina Cowell. I've been assigned as your new editor representing Black Pawn."

"You'll be getting an official notice in the mail soon about the change. I'm calling to arrange for a meeting here in New York City for you and me," Gina informed him.
Rick frowned. "You realize I live in San Francisco, right?"
"I'm aware, Mr. Castle, however, this meeting is going to take place so we need to arrange a time," Gina said flatly.
Rick's eyes narrowed; he was getting annoyed."You also realize I have a three-month-old to take care of. Who doesn't like flying."
"I'm aware you have an infant, Mr. Castle. This meeting is mandatory. I suggest you find a babysitter for this trip and meeting," Gina advised him.
"This mandatory meeting can take place in San Francisco since your offer will not work. Have a very nice flight." Rick hung up on her and didn't hear Gina cursing at him.
Shaking his head, he made it two steps when the phone began ringing again. "Hello?"
It was the nasty woman. "Mr. Castle, you will be flying to New York City to attend this meeting. That is non-negotiable." Gina informed him tartly.
"I'm pretty sure my contract doesn't state all meetings must take place in New York City, or LA or any other city in any country. Alexis has top priority in my life, not you. So fly out here for your mandatory meeting. I was happy with Paul and I don't know you. But if you want to know me you can have a nice flight across the country without a baby." Rick slammed down the phone and then picked up Alexis and headed for the table again.
He ignored the ringing phone that started just seconds later. He would call Paul later to find out what was going on with Black Pawn. Right now he had a couple of chapters in his head that he needed to get out.

Rick had parked the Ferrari in the garage and moved around to get Alexis out of the car seat that he had put in his car before picking up dinner. Gyu-Kaku had the Japanese BBQ Kate had asked for and he hadn't cared how far away it had been. Though it hadn't been that hard of a drive. Hitting the button closed the door and he went into the kitchen first and then his bedroom to check if Alexis needed a clean diaper.
Kate coasted all the way to the front door on her bike. She got off, unlocked the door, and hurried inside. The second she did she smelled food. Hungry, she put her bike in place, went into the kitchen, and saw a plastic bag with something inside it.
Opening it she breathed in deeply. "Japanese BBQ!" Kate's smile was wide. "HONEY, I'M HOME!" Kate yelled as she headed to her room first to drop her backpack. She would start on her homework later. Passing the table she saw a new pile of papers and couldn't resist picking up the first one and reading it.
Rick came out to greet her. "Are you trying to get inside information for your mother again?"
"Maybe." Kate wasn't willing to admit to him that this was for her, not her mother. She wanted to know. Anyway Kate put it down, met him halfway and kissed him passionately.
"I see you made some progress." Kate didn't let go of him.
"Two whole chapters no thanks to Black Pawn." Rick was still a little angry.
"What've they done?" Kate wasn't stupid. That was his publisher and how he made his money.
"Apparently there's a letter in the mail somewhere, likely headed for LA and not here, informing me that Paul, my editor, had resigned and that I was being transferred to a different editor," Rick began.
"They couldn't call you and tell you this? Do they even have your new number?" Kate questioned him.
"I updated Black Pawn in LA, yes. However, I got a call from the New York office. Someone named Gina called." Kate saw his face and he didn't look happy.
Kate waited for it. "And?"
Rick broke it to her. "She demanded that I fly to New York City to attend a meeting with her."
"She does know where you live now, right?" She saw him nod. "And that you have a three-month-old." She watched him nod again. "And you told her to take a long walk off a short pier?" Kate asked him.
"I told her if she wanted a meeting she could fly to San Francisco," Rick said.
"Good! …I hear a but in there somewhere." Kate didn't like where this was going.
"I called to talk with Paul and that was when I found out what happened. I found out from them that I'm required to attend a meeting with any new editor," Rick said, still highly annoyed.
"SERIOUSLY!" Kate let go of him because she was angry. "You have to fly with Alexis to New York City all because someone who is clearly full of herself wants you in New York City?"
He shook his head. "Not just yet. The office in LA is going to talk to the one in New York. I'm still waiting for that return call. Of course I wasn't here when I went out to get dinner. …And two big boxes of condoms."
"Condoms, huh?" Kate went back to putting her arms around him. "Can't she just come to San Francisco for her precious meeting?"
"I guess we'll find out. Shall I crack open the box of condoms?" Rick grinned at her.
"After you feed me and make sure Alexis is fed and has a clean diaper." Kate kissed him deeply.
