Lucky Star: The Legacy of Neverland

Hey, everyone. It's me, Hunting Lightning, and I'm here to give you a "Lucky Star" crossover AU involving the characters of "Lucky Star" getting thrusted into the world from a timeless children's story created from the mind of one of Britain's greatest turn-of-the-century writers (or so it was believed), where they rediscover the magic of childhood wonder, and uncover long-lost secrets behind each of their family histories.

A quick heads up, some of the characters may go OOC at times, so forgive if this might upset some fans of the "Lucky Star" series. Also, this is a Yuri fic for anyone who's curious. If you don't like it, then don't read it.

Before we get this story started, I'll have to make things clear for you readers to follow. In this AU, Konata's Mother, Kanata, is alive and well, whereas her niece, Yui Narumi (known by Kobayakawa), is still single like Nanako Kuroi (for now, that is). The Izumis, and the Takaras are distant relatives, and are close friends with the Hiiragis (as well as Honoka Iwasaka), having known each other since High School. The Hiiragis are related to their extended family in London through Miki, as well as other characters also having some British bloodline in their ancestries.

This story is a tribute to the various adaptations/re-imaginings of J. M. Barrie's timeless classic, and based on the characters created by Kagami Yoshimizu and Sir J. M. Barrie, and inspired by Robert Louis Stevenson's "Treasure Island" and its various Adaptations/Re-imaginings.

As always, I do Not own any of the characters (except for the OCs) and elements used in this story. They belong to Kagami Yoshimizu, Robert Louis Stevenson, and Sir J. M. Barrie/the Great Ormond Street Hospital respectively.

So, without further ado, let's get into the story.

Chapter 1: Final Results and Deep Thoughts

On Friday, December 18th, students of Ryoo High School were getting a bit antsy in their pants, which was no surprise since everyone was waiting for their test scores, but at the same time, they were also excited because Winter break was just two days away.

But, compared to them, none were more jumpy, yet peppy than four Girls, consisting of two Purple-haired Girls, a Pinkette, and a Blue mane.

The Blue-haired Girl had messy, waist-length hair with a cowlick atop her head with green eyes that gave her a sleepy look, a mole underneath her left eye, tan skin and a cat-like smile across her face. She was currently 17 at the moment, and about to be 18 by next year. She was very short compared to the rest of the students in school, save for her cousin.

The two Purple-haired Girls were Sisters and are fraternal twins with different styles to tell them apart. The first one had a Bob-Cut with a yellow headband-ribbon on top of her head and droopy, "Tareme" Violet-Blue Eyes, while the other had messy long hair tied into twin-tails by Brownish-Purple ribbons and had pointed, "Tsurime" Violet-Blue Eyes. Both of them had normal pale skin. Both of them were 17.

The Pink-haired Girl had long, wavy hair, Purple irises, and fair skin with a pinkish tint. She was 16, making her the youngest of the tetrad, though she, compared to the rest of the Girls in the group, was the tallest of the bunch, which some might mistake her to be the eldest amongst four. She used to wear large, circular-rimmed glasses, but had laser eye surgery last summer, and has been doing well ever since. Surprisingly, believe it or not, she is a distant cousin of the short Bluenette.

For each of their names, the Bluenette was named Konata Izumi. The Purple-haired Twins were named Kagami and Tsukasa Hiiragi. And finally, the former bespectacled-eyed Pinkette was named Miyuki Takara.

"Ya know, I can't wait 'till Christmas break." The Bluenette, Konata, said enthusiastically. "After the school bell rings, we'll be free from mental torture!"

Konata was a Girl who was an eccentric, teasing, and mischievous prankster, but above all of that, she was mainly a friendly, out-going, and good-natured person. She does have some decent intelligence and athletic abilities, yet she becomes lazy when it comes to school work and skips out on activities, and only devotes her knowledge and skill set to anything that was Anime and Manga related, making her an otaku in most people's eyes.

"Honestly, Konata… You can be so immature sometimes…" Kagami, the purple twin-tailed, quoted with an unamused look before continuing. "Actually, scratch that. You're immature ALL the time…"

Kagami was someone who was hot-headed, tomboyish, and arrogant on the outside, yet was a person that was prone to feeling lonely and shy, and always seemed to have a strong attachment to her friends, especially Konata, even if the short Girl teases in good fun, and Kagami usually covers this up with her Tsundere-like personality. She was capable in her studies, yet was weak in doing house chores, mainly cooking, which she rarely even tackled.

"Ouch… That hurt, my dear Kagamin…" Konata said in a feint hurt tone. "Keep that up and you'll end up breaking my heart."

Kagami instantly blushed upon hearing that. "S-shut up, you-!" She spat out.

The other two Girls just watched the comical exchange and sweatdropped.

"You know, those two argue like an old married couple… Right, Miyuki?" Kagami's short-haired Twin, Tsukasa, whispered to her pink-haired acquaintance.

Tsukasa, Kagami's youngest Twin Sister, was a student who had a clumsy, naive air-headed, yet sweet, and childlike persona. She never gets angry with anyone, including Kagami, no matter how many times her own Sister seems to overshadow her and step out of line with her pompous and intolerant attitude. She was always incapable in her school work, usually needing help from Friends and Family to boost her marks, and wasn't as athletic as Konata, but she was a pro when it came to home chores, especially excelling in cooking.

"I couldn't agree with you more, Tsukasa." The tall Pinkette, Miyuki, replied quietly.

Lastly, Miyuki is a friendly Girl who is smart, beautiful, innocent, and outgoing to anyone who meets her, yet she did have a bit of clumsiness in her nature, just like Tsukasa. She was a highly intelligent student who was also the definition of a walking encyclopedia, and has amazing social skills, despite being forgetful sometimes.

Just then, the entire class's attention was brought to the front of the classroom by their teacher, Ms. Nanako Kuroi, 27, which instantly doused Konata's and Kagami's argument.

"Alright, class." Ms. Kuroi announced. "I have brought back your exams, all marked and ready to hand back."

The students received their test to see how they've done. The reactions varied amongst the students, ranging from satisfaction to disappointment.

Amidst the reactions of gratification and despair, the tetrad of were secretly reviewing their marks to themselves before they'll compare each other's results.

Konata had a 61% on her exam, but was satisfied enough with it since it was a passable grade.

Tsukasa had a 64%, which was much higher than Konata's, yet not as impressive, but she was still happy with her final marks.

Her Sister, Kagami, had a 77%, much higher than Konata's and Tsukasa's scores, and was feeling pleased with herself.

Miyuki, on the other hand, got a 100% the highest compared to her three friends, but rather than feel proud, she felt really modest about her final results on her exam.

"Okay, now let's see how we all did, right?" Konata inquired. "I got a 61."

"Wow, Konata…" Kagami said blankly. "You just passed by an inch…"

"Ouch, Kamagin…" Konata responded in faux sadness. "That hurts, ya know…"

"Yeah, whatever…" Kagami quoted boredly before turning to her fraternal Twin Sister. "So, what did you get, Tsukasa?"

"Oh. A 64, Sis…" Tsukasa said hesitantly.

"Oh, wow, Tsukasa…" Kagami complimented. "You're way higher than Konata."

"I don't know if that's a compliment or an insult…" Konata quipped slyly.

"You're the one to talk!" Kagami countered.

Tsukasa and Miyuki just chuckled quietly at the scene in front of them.

"Well, how much did you get, Big Sis'?" Tsukasa asked.

"77." Kagami said simply.

"Oh. I see…" Tsukasa replied downcasted.

"Why? What's wrong?" Kagami questioned.

"It's just I guess you expect more from me… knowing I have a lower mark than you…" Tsukasa answered hesitantly.

Kagami immediately got the point of what her Sister was insinuating.

"Oh, No, No, No! It's Okay, Tsukasa…" Kagami instantly interjected with reassurance. "Nobody's perfect… You did your best, and a great job on the exam. The 64 shows how much you've developed over the course of the semester."

Tsukasa brightened up at this. "You really mean it?" She asked innocently.

Kagami nodded in affirmation.

"Wow, Kagami… You support Tsukasa with a 60% range, yet you criticize me for it. That's harsh…" Konata said in a joshing tone.

"Shut it, you…" Kagami snapped. She then turned her attention to Miyuki.

"So, what did you get, Miyuki?" Kagami asked.

"Oh! Well…" The Pinkette hesitated a bit, becoming deafly silent for a moment before going forward with her answer. "It may be better to just show it to you three…"

The trio surrounded Miyuki and she turned her exam page around and presented the mark. All three girls' jaws dropped.

"100%?!" Kagami exclaimed.

"Amazing!" Tsukasa gasped

"That's our Miyuki alright!" Konata praised.

Miyuki just blushed slightly at the attention she was getting from her three friends over her test score.

"It's nothing, really…" She said coyly. Just then, Ms. Kuroi tapped her ruler on the blackboard, getting the students' attention once again.

"Alright, now that everybody's received their final marks, I'm glad to say that every person here has passed with full marks or by inches." The Teacher announced in her usual laidback attitude. "Now, for those of you disappointed with their marks, you shouldn't be hard on yourselves. You all did your best, and y'all should be happy that they are passable grades."

This seemed to lighten some students up, while Konata had a sly smirk gracing her face towards Kagami, who was doing her best to ignore the short Girl.

"Now, before you go, I would like to wish everyone here to have a great Winter Break, and Merry Christmas to all of you." Ms. Kuroi said with a smile. "Hope you enjoy the rest of the Winter, Class."

The whole class stood up in-sync, and bowed to their teacher before they filed out the door one-by-one.

Outside Ryoo High School, all students of various years exited through the doors, either walking or running back to their home to enjoy their Winter vacation.

Four Girls, in their Winter coats, calmly walked out the doors, feeling the cold air hit their faces as they strolled off the premise, intending to go to their appropriate homes.

""Boy… I'm glad Winter Break is final here." Konata said giddily. I can finally have some time to play my online games without the need to worry about school."

"You always play online games, even when you're supposed to be studying…" Kagami responded in a deadpanned way. "I mean, don't you want a future for yourself?"

"Oh, come on, Kagamin… lighten up already…" Konata whined. "You should really learn to have fun and forget about the world for a change. I passed, ya know."

"Yeah… by an inch…" Kagami empathized blankly before continuing. "Honestly, you should really start taking responsibility for yourself. The world out there is not gonna let opportunities fall in your lap. Life is not that simple. You need higher grades if you want to have a good resume for a job."

Tsukasa listened to her Sister prattle on about the negativity of life. She now was feeling insecure about her future, apprehensive of the fact she would never secure a job with lower grades as part of her curriculum. She even wished that Kagami would also be positive for once, and see the joys in life instead of being negative, and only paying attention to the harsh reality of life.

Just then, Miyuki said something that caught everybody's attention.

"Honestly, I don't really see what's so important about grades…" Miyuki suddenly said, causing the rest of the group to stop in their tracks.

Kagami looked at Miyuki with an incredulous expression before responding.

"What??? Why would you say that???" Kagami questioned in disbelief. "Grades show how qualified you are for a job suited for the skills you are good at."

"To you, they can go a long way, but to me, they're just numbers…" Miyuki quoted indifferently, which surprised Kagami, knowing that this was not like Miyuki's usual good-natured, yet timid self.

Miyuki then continued confidently. "I feel that the most important thing is to focus on the goals you are able in and to strive for the path that you aim for. You don't need to take a test to prove yourself when you could do it with the talent and skills you have."

The trio just stared at their friend in silence.

For Kagami, she was in a state of total incredulity. Baffled by the small speech her Pink-haired friend had just given out for her own ears to hear.

For Tsukasa, she was solely in pure awe. She felt inspired and comforted by Miyuki's two sagely quotes.

Konata was amazed at Miyuki's wise words of wisdom. She felt that Miyuki was a sage in disguise to think up such deep wisdom from her mind.

"Whoa… Who knew you can be such a deep thinker, Miyuki…" Konata responded in admiration.

In an instant, Miyuki snapped back to the shy and gentle demeanor she was known for.

"Oh! Did I faze out again? I'm sorry about that…" Miyuki apologized in a demure manner.

"You didn't faze out, you spoke from your heart." Tsukasa commented. "You have a heart of wisdom."

Miyuki blushed at this compliment from Tsukasa, yet she felt thrilled at the same time.

"T-thank you, Tsukasa…" Miyuki stuttered a bit with a smile.

"That was pretty bold of you, Miyuki." Konata stated with approval gleaming in her eyes. "The energy of the Moé you've emitted was almost overwhelming, I don't know how I survived it."

Kagami just sweatdropped. Sometimes, she questions why she was friends with someone who makes Anime references in just about EVERY conversation the four have between each other.

Kagami sighed, feeling that they dwelled long enough on the subject matter, and stalled long enough on the streets. She just wanted to go home and rest.

"Alright… we should get going now." She finally said. "I just wanna go home."

"Oh! Right…" Tsukasa responded in an instant. "I guess we'll see each other later then."

"It seems so…" Miyuki replied.

"Well, I guess we'll be parting ways now." Konata added. "See y'all later, then."

The tetrad soon parted ways and headed towards their appropriate homes, hoping to enjoy their Winter Vacation on their own terms, but what they unbeknownst to them they we're going to receive a huge surprise when they got home.
