I don't own.
"Ok, if you have any weapons, now would be a good time to use it." Walter said.
"I don't have any weapons. I'm off duty." Cricket said.
"I just have this, and it's not going to do much against a droid." Tuck already had his firearm out.
"Well, we're screwed." Walter said dryly.
The droid charged them with the taser. They scattered. Tuck rolled onto his knees and returned fire. He managed to knock it back, but it regained its footing. The droid started rolling towards Walter. Cricket jumped kick the back of the droid to try to knock it down. She dented the area. However, the droid didn't tip over. It spun around and with its arm knocked Cricket across the room.
"Crick!" Tuck began rapid firing regaining the droid's attention. Walter ran to check on her. The droid resumed going after Tuck. Tuck continued to fire until he ran out of bullets. The droid seemed to realize he was out of bullets and charged. Tuck grabbed a chair and swung at the taser arm to avoid being hit. Dodging back and forth using the chair as a shield, Tuck avoided the taser arm while trying to assess what to do.
Walter helped Cricket into a sitting position.
"You ok?" Walter asked as Cricket rubbed her head.
"No, but I'll live." Cricket growled. "We need to help Tuck."
Walter walked over to one of the fallen grunts. He found a gun and threw it to Cricket. He went to another grunt and picked another firearm. When they aimed it at the droid, they realized that they couldn't fire because they didn't want to hit Tuck.
"Crap, what are we going to do?" Cricket growled with frustration.
They watched helplessly as Tuck tussled with the droid. Tuck tried to use the chair legs to push the droid back. The droid punched through the seat. The taser was inches from his face. But Tuck thought fast. He pushed the chair down trapping the taser arm on the floor.
"Now!" Tuck yelled at his friends. Cricket and Walter ran towards the robot. When they were at point blank range, they fired directly into its sensors. At first there was no effect but eventually it pierced through the metal and the droid turned off.
"Phew, that was tough." Tuck wiped the sweat from his brow.
Banging came from the door.
"Aww, man." Walter groaned. "I always thought Halloween would kill me, not Christmas."
"Well, Grandma did get run over by a reindeer." Cricket joked weakly.
The banging got louder, and the door began to give way.
The trio looked at each other nervously.

Calan looked at his phone with a frown. He dialed again and waited.
"Nothing!" He hissed.
"Problem?" Valentina asked.
Startled Calan turned to look at her. "I can't reach anyone back at Providence."
"Not even the Albino?" She asked.
"You have to stop calling him that." Calan looked at her with exasperation.
"We can discuss that later. What do you want to do?" Valentina asked.
Calan looked at his phone uncertainly. "I am on vacation…"
"But you'll be no fun if you keep worrying." She sighed. "You should go."
"I would have to book a flight and I don't know if I can get anything till tomorrow…" Calan thought out loud.
Valentina pulled out her phone and typed something. A red portal appeared. She smirked at his expression.
"I'll be right back." He kissed her on the cheek and went through the portal.
"Give me a call and I'll have Breach bring you back." She called as the portal closed.
"You are growing soft, hermana." Her brother said from the doorway. "You must really like this gringo."
"He grows on you. But who are you calling soft?" She did a fake out punch to his gut.
He flinched but then challenged her. "Perhaps a game of futbol then?"
"Bring it." She replied with a grin.

Calan showed up in an empty hanger. "Hello? Where is everybody?" He started walking to the briefing room. He saw something move from the corner of his eye. Jumping out of the way before a bullet ricocheted off the spot where he had just stood, he pulled the firearm he always kept on his side. He blasted the repair droid that fell over. He walked over to it and noticed that there were several grunts lying on the floor. He quickly went to check on them. He breathed a sigh of relief when he found that they were breathing. He pulled his comlink from one of their ears.
"Code red, code red, we have a situation." He said into the comlink. Static answered him.
He then tried his cell phone. There was no signal. He cursed under his breath. Pulling the grunt's firearms, he carefully made his way to the door. He didn't notice that from the shadows several glowing eyes appeared.
Walking through the eerily empty halls, he warily looked from side to side. He touched the video intercom on the wall. "White Knight? Sir?" There was nothing but static again.
"What in tarnation is going on here?" He muttered to himself. He started getting déjà vu.
Quickly he moved to get to White Knight's office. When he got there, he banged on the door. He knew he needed to be louder and somehow get White Knight's attention.
His instinct told him to move. Spinning around he just missed being impaled by a practice droid. Calan shot the shut-down screen and deactivated the droid. But another droid quickly took its place. "Where are all these droids coming from?" Calan scowled as he fired again. This was not a practice droid, however with no easy way to neutralize it. The repair droid pulled out a taser and rolled toward Calan. Calan backed up while shooting until he was out of ammo. His scowl deepened. Tossing aside the useless gun he crouched into a defensive position. The droid charged him and tried to shock him. Calan did a low sweep knocking the little machine onto its back. Then he stomped on its visor until it shut down. He took a moment to catch his breath when a shock ran through his system. He collapsed in pain. Looking up, he saw a blurry figure with sparks at the end of an arm. He struggled to get out of the way but another current ran through his body as the droid was faster than him. He yelled out in pain.
Sorry, I had not intended for this Christmas story to run past the year much less past February. That said. I'm almost done. It's also not very Christmassy. I'm trying.
