Chapter 2: Just lost in those blue eyes

As he began to crawl on to the bed, she could wait no longer and dragged him on top of her. They were married. She was Mrs. Elena Salvatore.

She liked her new name. It sounded better than Elena Gilbert.

She stared into his deep longing eyes and rolled the words off her tongue. "I love you, Damon." He loved hearing the sound of those words by her pretty mouth.

"I love you too, always had, always will," His words were earnest, his emotions were honest, and pure.

"Do you know, your eyes are very blue and very pretty," it wasn't a question, she had always adored his eyes, and not just the superficial aspect, they were always so soft for her, so kind.

He pursed his lips, hiding his smile. He was never good at receiving a compliment.

"Are you blushing?" she teased.

"I'll show you," he said, in a mock growl. He attacked her neck, making her moan, his lips opening and closing, his tongue emerged as he tried the tip of it against her skin. She moaned as she ran her fingers in his hair. She was always so fulfilled when Damon was so close to her.

Elena Whitmore…

The brunette shook her head, she wouldn't think about that.

If you had asked her back when she was in school who she would marry, she would have said Stefan – her best friend. But things had changed.

He had hurt her. He had cut her so deep that it would have been forever bleeding had Damon not been able to heal it.

Even when she thought about it, it still hurt.

She did not want to think about that. She was in love with Damon; her crush on Stefan had ended. She only loved him like family or as a best friend only.

He slowly placed kisses on her chest and down her torso. You would expect Damon to be heartless and uncaring, that's was the face, he showed to the world, having lost his parents very early, his grandfather had raised him to be a stone-cold emotionless man, so he could fight the cruel world and survive.

But when Stefan hurt her, he was there, like a friend, like a protector, like light at the end of the tunnel.

Back in school, she wasn't very fond of him, he was just Stefan's broody best friend, who always had a frown on his face, and unresolved anger issues, that he hid under the mask of indifference.

When they were paired for a school project, that was the beginning of their friendship. He wasn't too bright in his studies, like she and Stefan, so she'd help him with his assignments and save him from the wrath of his grandfather who just expected him to be perfect in everything. Eventually they grew closer, so much close, that he was the first person, she confided in, when she realized her 'love' for Stefan.

He had helped her. But when Stefan broke her heart. He was there to pick up the pieces.

After eight months of 'Just Good Friends', Damon asked her out. She agreed and they had dinner in an expensive restaurant. After, they had a walk in the park. It was dark, now. There had been a power failure so even the street lights were off. She was scared so she huddled closer to him. It was then, when, Damon turned to her and said that he loved her, and that he always would.

Elena whispered that she loved him too before brushing her lips against his. Damon wrapped his arms around her and deepened the kiss.

That was her first kiss with someone other than Stefan.

They continued to date. Around six months later, Damon proposed to her. She immediately accepted. During this time, Stefan was with his college girlfriend in New York. He had no idea of Elena's relationship with Damon. And to be honest, Elena didn't really care.

She was in love with Damon, and most importantly, he loved her back. That was all she cared about. Returned love.

Damon straddled her and kissed along her neck. Elena put her hands in his hair and just enjoyed the feeling of being loved.

After all, that was all Elena craved. To be loved. She had many friends, and many boys had made moves on her. Like, Tyler.

Vaguely, she remembered how Stefan had told Tyler to back off trying to chat up Elena then had held her hand.

Elena mentally giggled. It would seem that Stefan only loved her when others were trying to win her affection.

She then sighed as Damon found the weak spot on her neck that always made her melt. Stefan had found that – not Damon. Yet Stefan wanted nothing to do with her and to Damon she was his whole world.

Stefan had hurt her so much…

All thoughts escaped her when Damon took off her bra.

Elena had only been with two men in her life, Stefan and Damon, both her best friends. But frankly, when she imagined losing her virginity, and surrendering to a man, she had thought it would be Stefan. But she was glad that they never reached to that point. She was glad that the only man she had been intimate with was her now husband.

She loved Damon. Stefan was just a crush. Even though he had hurt her, she had no grudges against him. He was her best friend. Nothing could change that. If Damon told her she couldn't be friends with him, she'd be angry at Damon for thinking like that.

But Damon was also Stefan's best friend, so he would never tell her that.

Damon looked up at her and Elena's and his crystal blue eyes met her honey brown eyes. She was breathless. For a brief second, his eyes had seemed lighter. As if, he knew what she was thinking. His blue eyes that gazed at her lovingly, with a bit of concern.

"Are you ok, Elena?"

She nodded with a light smile. She was fine as long as he was with her.

I am just lost in those blue eyes.
