…and ten.
I chose to set the tenth chapter aside to write about the behind-the-scenes of this collection. A huge reason I had the opportunity to write these stories was because of the amazing show that Tommy Andreasen and so many others have spent ten years creating. Even though I only begin watching Ninjago shortly after the end of Hunted, I feel as though it will always be dear to my heart.
As far as inspiration, my intentions with this collection were to present the characters in a light that the show and other fanfic writers haven't. I tried not to stick too closely to the general tropes for each of them, such as tying the plots of their stories too closely to their elements. In my opinion, "the river" is the only notable exception to this rule.
Another major source of inspiration was ironically Taylor Swift's folklore and evermore which is essentially poetry put to music. I was so inspired by her usage of natural symbolism that I incorporated many of my own symbols and references to her songs into this collection. Some only have references to Ninjago and others have a mixture of symbols and references, so I'll leave finding those to you guys.
About future stories, I have one or two big ideas. There are two AU's that I'm not quite ready to share the details of but I've already started writing the first idea, which I've been sitting on for about a year. You guys can be expecting an announcement in one of the Google Translate episodes at the end of year, provided that everything goes well.
Lastly, I want to give a big thanks to everyone who has been reading for the past ten weeks or so. All of you have assured me that posting these here was the right decision, and as a result, I am inspired to write even more in the future. If I ever choose to publish another story, I will write a notice in the Google Translate series which is updated once a week. See you over there!
