TDNKCI: Episode 5: "I Think I Might Have Said Too Much"
Chris's Recap
"Last time, on Total Drama Nui Kaua: The Cursed Island…
On Weliweli, Lena, Azami, and Aleister all talked about their teams with each other, letting Aleister know of the divisions present in both the Mummies and Demons, and while Lena was busy talking bad about Daniel, our man Dan was getting to the bottom of who wrote his extra name down with Lena and Phooka at the Mummies' last elimination ceremony. Lucien kept up his lie about claiming it was him, and Tori continued to go along with it. Nice try guys, but it looks like Daniel isn't quite convinced that he's safe just yet.
Through a series of events and actions worthy of an Oscar, Freya managed to enact the final tugs she needed to pull Kyle away from Aubrey completely, leaving the normal wannabe completely heartbroken.
While Freya was busy messing with the Banshees' heads, Kaleaf, Barnard, and Jaime were busy messing with the Demons' already intensely fragile unity, by vowing to vote Azami off as soon as they could, to Helen's and Kaden's displeasure.
During the challenge, pairs from each team were brought up to act as couples answering questions about each other, while the other members were given the option to eat from a buffet table that housed immunity tiki clues, of which, Daniel and Kaleaf both found theirs, with Daniel going an extra step further to snatch a clue near Aubrey before she could even notice it. In the end, the Demons faced their first elimination ceremony, where Helen's temper finally got the better of her, and after delivering scathing criticisms to each of her teammates and the team as a whole, the Martyr of Zero Sum voted herself off the team, and became the Coffin of Shame's most recent resident. Only 19 are left right now, but we'll be down to 18 soon enough. Who can continue to race to the finish and whose game is about to experience a total wipeout? Find out right here, on Total Drama Nui Kaua...The Cursed...Island!"
Location: Macabre Mummies' Campsite
Contestant(s): Lucien, Twilight, Aleister
"Why are we the ones doing this?" Twilight asked Aleister as he led her to the Mummies' small campsite through all manner of dirty puddles on the ground. "I'd really rather get back to our not lame camp and relax before a challenge starts up again. No matter who they voted off, the Demons are going to be far more determined to win than ever now, and we need to be at top strength."
"You're coming with me because our team trusts you to vouch for me when I say that I'm not up to anything suspicious." Aleister shrugged. "I heard from a little birdie on Weliweli that the Mummies are divided down the middle, and I wanted to see if it was true."
"You wanted to see if what was true now?" Lucien yawned as he went out to greet the visitors to his camp. "Welcome to the campsite dude and dudette." He smiled. "Not much going on here at the moment though, I'm afraid. The others are in pairs, hunting and gathering berries and the sort. I'm just here to tend the fire."
Lucien put a hand behind his head and began to laugh nervously. "I'm told that I can't be trusted with sharp objects, and I'd probably accidentally pick a poisonous berry to eat."
"That's fine." Aleister seemed to ignore Lucien's remarks as he got straight to the point. "So, is Daniel really as bad as Lena said he is on Weliweli?"
"Oh, Dan?" Lucien shrugged. "I think he's alright. Not sure what Lena's going on about really, but I'm not here to fight with anyone. I'm just here to have a good time, well, and win the money of course."
"Your fire is going out." Twilight noted, causing Lucien to adapt a look of worry on his face.
"Oh, no, not again." He mumbled as he quickly looked for some wood to use for fuel. "Where did we keep the- Aha!"
He reached under the Mummies' makeshift shelter and pulled out a log that he tossed into the fire pit, causing the flames to rise again. "Phew. That was a close one, thanks, Vamps, I owe you guys."
Confessional: Twilight: The Visceral Vampires
"That...doesn't mean much coming from the one who isn't even trusted enough to collect freaking berries."
End Confessional
Confessional: Lucien: The Macabre Mummies
"I'm glad someone came to visit me while I was tending the fire." Lucien smiles warmly into the camera. "After all, I'm not the most reliable, so that extra pair of eyes from Twilight was useful." As he finishes his sentence, Lucien's own eyes glimmer, as though he'd somehow stumbled upon a precious metal.
End Confessional
"So Aleister…" Lucien relaxed back into the Mummies' still standing shack that Isaac and Lena had built together. "I want to know something...what's the deal with you and Freya?"
"Well this conversation is one I don't care to listen to-" Twilight turned to leave but was stopped by Aleister grabbing her shirt collar.
"That's nothing for anyone to be concerned about." Aleister stated. "Freya is simply very pretty and the fact that she's willing to flirt with me is-"
"Proof of your own incompetence?" Twilight offered. "I'd take anything that slut says with a grain of salt."
Confessional: Twilight: The Visceral Vampires
"And then, when I've collected enough salt, I'll throw it in her eyes. Bitch seems to have her team following her every whim. Not to mention she hopped from that Nick guy to Kyle pretty fuckin' quickly. I don't need or want her grubby hands on any of my teammates, especially not my fellow returning competitor."
End Confessional
"Relax, Twilight!" Aleister defended himself. "I'm not so foolish as to think she isn't trying to use me, but why not let her think she's got the best of me anyways? She may let something slip!"
"Dang, your team is smart guys!" Lucien chuckled. "It's like….up there, you know?" He pointed to the top of his head.
Twilight rolled her eyes. "Aleister, we're not going to get anywhere with this idiot, but your plan sounds fine I guess, as long as you report back what you find out to our team regularly if that banshee does try and rope you into whatever witch's brew of trouble she's concocting. Come on, let's go find a different, smarter Mummy to talk to."
"Oh, that reminds me, I wanted to tell you guys something before you left!" Lucien gave his utmost effort to hide the giddiness he felt behind a false blank stare and goofy grin. "You know how Daniel sat out last challenge? It wasn't cuz he was being difficult. He was told to. We've sort of got this nice team-alliance going with the Banshees. That's why I was curious about Aleister and Freya. I mean, I did pick the Demons to be the best team, so I was wondering if we were all teaming up to defeat them. I guess not though, that's a shame."
Twilight and Aleister gave each other the exact same look.
Confessional: Aleister: The Visceral Vampires
"What in the world is Lucien babbling about? A team-alliance? How would that even work? But more to the point, should we try to join in if it's a real thing? Twilight seems pretty adamant about not trusting Freya, and Lena sounded pretty adamant about not trusting Daniel while we were on Weliweli. I get the sense there's something bigger going on here, but it's beyond me as to what it could be."
End Confessional
Confessional: Twilight: The Visceral Vampires
"Everything in this goddamn game keeps coming back to that first week here. Too bad we can't question any eliminated contestants about what the fuck's been going on. Far as I can tell the two people capable of giving answers are Lucien, who made the teams, but is a fucking idiot, and Isaac, because it's clear that tension is in no short supply among the Mummies, but Aleister's and Lucien's stories don't check out, and going out hunting and berry picking in this fucking rain? I say this team really doesn't want anyone else to see its internal politics."
End Confessional
Location: Dreadful Demons' Campsite
Contestant(s): Azami, Barnard, Jaime, Kaden, Kaleaf, Lena, Tori
"Dreadful Demons, Dreadful Demons, Dreadful Demons!" Tori pretended to summon the team by repeating their name three teams as they all left their shelter.
"What do you want now, Mummy girl?" Kaleaf groaned.
"Who was voted off? I'm curious!"
"Well, it was supposed to be that loudmouth over there." Jaime tilted her head towards Azami, who was busy, along with Kaden and Barnard, tending to the fire and cleaning the campsite of debris. "However, Helen blew a bit of a gasket and just up and quit on us."
"The preppy bitch quit? That's fucking dumb." Lena voiced her opinion on the matter. "You can't just quit a game you signed up for."
"Hey, who's come to visit us?" Kaden asked as he approached the four talking.
"We heard Helen quit." Tori turned to face Kaden.
"Don't talk to him about it." Kaleaf warned. "He's gone nuts about her giving up-"
"She didn't quit." Kaden shrugged.
"The fuck are you going on about?" Lena rose a brow. "She sure as hell isn't still on your team!"
"Yeah, but she didn't quit. She only voted herself off."
"That fucking is quitting!" Lena's patience was growing thinner and thinner.
"Well, she didn't give up on the game." Kaden protested. "Up until her final speech at the end, she was searching for a way to stay in."
"The basic gist of the problem is that for some reason known only to her, Helen couldn't accept that Azami was the choice to go home when we lost." Jaime explained. "So rather than give any good reason to keep her around, she threw a fit and jumped in the coffin herself."
"That's wrong." Kaden argued. "She correctly identified gigantic problems each of us was causing for the team, and even gave those problems as the reason for leaving."
Confessional: Tori: The Macabre Mummies
"So the Demons really are a dysfunctional team, huh?" Tori smirks as she begins to ponder something in the confessional. "Curious...Luci's game is quite curious."
End Confessional
Meanwhile, Barnard and Azami were still by the campsite proper, tidying up and tending to the fire.
"Azami, could you bring some of that wood this way?" Barnard asked. "It seems dry enough that it can be used for fuel."
"Can't even get their own wood they need me so much." Azami mumbled as she nevertheless brought the wood over to her teammate.
Confessional: Azami: The Dreadful Demons
"Okay, so APPARENTLY my team was going to make the STUPID decision of voting me off at Po'ino the other night, but now that I"M STILL HERE, they've all gone meek and quiet and are trying to pretend like nothing ever happened! Ugh, it's like they're trying to ignore the fact that Helen handed each of their assess to them in her goodbye speech! As for me, I disagree with Helen. Winning IS everything, but she DOES have a point that I can't win if I'm voted off. That's why once the next challenge rolls around I'm going to show NO MERCY!"
End Confessional
Confessional: Barnard: The Dreadful Demons
"It appears no one is taking Helen's words to heart so far, except perhaps Kaden, who hasn't gone off with Azami once since elimination last week, and of course myself, as merely a precaution of course. I personally think Helen's outburst was immature and unwarranted, much like anything that comes out of Azami's mouth. As things currently stand, nothing has truly been accomplished. Azami is still the next to go if we lose."
End Confessional
Confessional: Kaden: The Dreadful Demons
"Helen, I don't know what I'm going to do here. No one's changed at all, except maybe Barnard? I can't tell very well since I've been busy as a sort of sole provider of food for the others, so I can't get the chance to talk to them much. We're almost at 18 though, so hopefully a shuffle can happen or something. Sticking in this group of people can't be good for my mental health. If only I had a good way to convince Azami to tone herself down…"
End Confessional
Location: Kahakai Beach
Contestant(s): Daniel, Jamal
Confessional: Daniel: The Macabre Mummies
"I've taken Rhymes on a Dime with me on what I said was a mission to gather berries, but while he was busy making idiotic noises to himself with his face covered in shrubbery, I was finding the location of that immunity tiki...or so I thought."
Postpone Confessional
"Gonna get the berry/whole team will be merry/win the challenge legendary/" Jamal mumbled raps to himself while Daniel found a special groove in the ground near the entrance to Nahele Forest and began to dig through it, pulling up a parcel of what he thought was an immunity tiki.
He opened it up, and couldn't believe his eyes. "So that's why…" He mumbled quietly.
Resume Confessional
Daniel has set four small tikis on the counter in front of him. One clearly depicting the mascot of each team.
"They were all in the same spot, and there's a reason for that. The note I've got tells me that I can keep my team's own tiki, but I have to will each of the other tikis to players on the other teams. I have until the next Po'ino Bonfire to decide, otherwise they all lose their power, and with Tori and Lucien doing...whatever it is they're doing, I'm not going to risk that. I guess now I have to pay attention to everyone…*sigh* figures."
End Confessional
"That should be enough berries." Daniel decided after collecting a few berries himself. "Let's head back. Hopefully the other idiot hasn't destroyed our campsite."
"To the camp, we headin' back/ after eatin' berries we'll be on the attack!" Jamal agreed. "Let's go/Dan, bro!"
"Ugh." Daniel rolled his eyes.
Location: Visceral Vampires' Campsite
Contestant(s): Aubrey, Molly, Sherwood
"Oh, it's just you." Molly sounded disappointed as she opened the door to find Aubrey. "I thought a useless teammate of mine had finally come back to keep me company because I'm so bored!"
"M-molly...Um…" Aubrey was unsure of how to phrase what she wanted to say. "I...AGH!" She quickly walked away.
Molly rolled her eyes and waited patiently.
"What is this about, loser? The storm's heading this way and I'd rather not be standing with the door open when it does."
Confessional: Aubrey: The Bloody Banshees
"How am I supposed to go about this? I want to do two things at once here, confront Molly about posing as me first of all! But also…" Aubrey looks up at the camera. "I need someone, anyone, to help me, and I don't know who to turn to. She's my sister so maybe…"
End Confessional
"Okay, seriously, Aubrey, if you don't spit it out, I'm slamming the door on you."
"I know what you did with Nick!" Aubrey quickly shouted.
"Pfft." Molly muffled a laugh. "I'm proud of that one! It made Freya sooo mad! She got rid of him right away too, and he was one of your strongest!"
"That's awful!"
"That's life, Aubrey." Molly shrugged. "How much do you need? A thousand dollars? Ten thousand? Don't tell me it's a fifty thousand problem again, because I don't care how many favors you owe me afterwards, I don't like parting with that much at once."
"No, no, I'm not here for money, Molly! That was the whole point of me signing us both up for this show, to prove that money doesn't define who we are!"
"Well, we're both at the bottom of our teams." Molly shrugged. "I suppose I have to acknowledge that we're related in that case as well. And do you know why? Because we already have this fucking money, Aubrey. No one else here has it. To not take advantage of that fact is a waste, and to attempt to deny it, like you're doing, is just plain stupid."
"Ugh...why am I even asking you for help? You're the absolute worst! All I want is a way to make things right with Kyle, and if-"
"You mean that country hick? Yuck. Even you can do better than that, Aubrey."
"I happen to like him!" Aubrey snapped. "And to just see him being paraded around by Freya is…Molly, please...she's making me help her keep him wrapped around her finger..."
"Ohhh, so you want revenge!" Molly smiled. "Well, since Freya is stealing my whole enchantress gig, I might be persuaded to help you mend things over with Kyle, to do that though, I need you to promise me something super important, and to give me a hair tie from your cabin, I don't care whose hair tie it is either, as long as I can finally stop looking like my inferior twin."
Aubrey didn't like what she heard, but she didn't know what options she had.
She gave a sigh and faced her sister. "I'll get you your hair tie. What's the 'something important' that you need me to promise?"
Confessional: Molly: The Visceral Vampires
"It appears, Freya, that not getting rid of Aubrey is going to bite you! Soon I'll be the only enchantress left on this island, as things should be!"
End Confessional
After Aubrey had talked with Molly and her twin had indeed slammed the door, Aubrey began to walk back when she noticed Sherwood in the trees.
"Were you sent to spy on me?"
"I wasn't sent, no." Sherwood shook his head. "But I was spying on you. I wanted to see how you handled the situation you found yourself in. You've got me a little interested to be honest."
"Would you-?" Aubrey rose a brow.
"Let me stop you there." Sherwood put a hand up. "I said you've got me a little interested, not committed to whatever it is you plan to do."
"How much of that conversation did you hear?" Aubrey asked.
"None of it. Thunder is loud, rain pouring down on these puddles is loud, I can't hear a conversation happening 40 yards away. I can only see body language. But I do know that you went to Molly for help, can't think of any other reason you'd seek out someone like her."
"I just, I just want Kyle to not be mad at me…" Aubrey answered honestly. "I didn't do anything wrong, and I want to be friends with him again...but the second I do anything about it, Freya's going to find out and eliminate him."
"Yeah, she's a bitch like that for sure." Sherwood agreed. "Listen, if an opportunity arises where my helping you doesn't put my own game in jeopardy, I'll let you know, but I'm in a good spot right now. I have safety in numbers, and all eyes are on the Zero Sum returnee, keeping the target off my back. I'm not about to give that all up just because my ally has a morally questionable character. I'm doing what I have to do in order to get further in this game. I suggest you focus on yourself before you focus on Kyle as well. And I will be reporting back to Freya that I saw you talking with Molly. We both know how vindictive she'd get if she found out I was keeping secrets, so I suggest you think of a good story in case you're questioned."
Confessional: Sherwood: The Bloody Banshees
"I'm not about to find myself without an ally in this game. I don't know how powerful an Aubrey-Molly alliance might be, but on the off chance that they do manage to take down Freya, I need to be in their at least neutral graces. Until the merge, I need meat shields, and I can't afford to put all my eggs in a single basket."
End Confessional
Location: Bloody Banshees' Campsite
Contestant(s): Antonio, Freya, Kyle, Samuel
"There it is…" Antonio stated as he as Samuel trudged through the wet sand to see the Bloody Banshees' cabin. "...Our...destination…"
Confessional: Samuel: The Visceral Vampires
"Okay so while Aleister took Twilight towards the Mummies' campsite, I decided that I'd bring Antonio with me to the Banshees' own camp. Twilight seems pretty clear that we can't trust Freya, so I'm gonna do a little recon, figure out exactly what makes her tick. Antonio has come with me for reasons I don't know. Possibly to kill me, possibly out of boredom."
End Confessional
Confessional: Antonio: The Visceral Vampires
"I came with Samuel to provide him with...insurance. He and Twilight have been locked in this debate about how strong he is, so I thought that maybe, if I saw it for myself, I could put in a good word for him. The three of us will have to stick together after all. Our other two teammates are...liabilities."
End Confessional
"Knock knock!" Samuel announced as he knocked on the door to the boy's side of the cabin. "Kyle, Sherwood, either of you in there?"
Freya was the one who opened the door.
"Sherwood's out, Kyle's busy, go away."
She began to close the door but Samuel easily stopped her, holding it open with one of his hands.
"Kyle, you in there?" He called. "Is now not a good time?"
"I guess it's fine..." Kyle stepped out from the corner of the room that neither Antonio nor Samuel could see, but he had his guitar in his hands. "I certainly don't want to keep you two in the rain, right hun?" He turned to Freya.
Freya gave a sigh as she released her force on the door. "Come in then, I guess." She rolled her eyes. "You're only ruining a lovely candle-lit serenade is all."
Confessional: Freya: The Bloody Banshees
"Country songs don't make for good serenades by the way, at least in my book. Still, Kyle is cute and I need to keep him in high spirits while he's around me, and making out with him is a little harder than with Nick since this poor boy's never had an experience like this. It's honestly a little sweet. Back to the matter at hand though, what the hell are these Vampires doing in my cabin?"
End Confessional
Confessional: Samuel: The Visceral Vampires
"So Freya's guarding Kyle in much the same way a dragon guards its treasure. That'll be interesting to pass on to Twilight, but for now, let's take stock of both of them. I mean, sure, Freya's hot, but I don't see this chick being nice at all, especially to people on an enemy team, so I don't think we need to worry too much. As long as Antonio and I think with our upstairs brains, we should be alright."
End Confessional
"I'm...confused…" Antonio cocked his head towards Kyle. "I could have sworn that you and Molly's sister were getting along as more than friends."
"I….I don't wanna talk about that." Kyle looked down at the floor.
"There, there…" Freya kissed Kyle on his cheek before twirling her fingers through his hair. "They wouldn't have known."
She turned to face the Vampires.
"We caught Nick and Aubrey cheating with each other, it was awful. I've been in this kind of situation before so I can handle it, but Kyle...Let's just say it's a good thing we had each other here."
"And Twilight's worried about this person?" Samuel asked Antonio in a whisper.
"Twilight's worried about me?" Freya asked, surprised. "Oh no! Does that mean Helen was voted off last week? I haven't exactly had the opportunity to leave the cabin. I've been keeping my babe here company."
Samuel and Antonio looked at each other. Antonio turned to respond. "We're fairly certain that Helen was indeed eliminated last week."
Confessional: Freya: The Bloody Banshees
"YES! Two Zero Sum returns down, one annoying Vampire to go! Thankfully, I've already got Aleister on puppet strings if last challenge is anything to go by, and what's this? I have both other male Vampires right in front of me! Oh, this is going to be too easy."
End Confessional
"You should be careful around Twilight, boys…" Freya warned. "She's much smarter than she lets on. She never received a single vote in our debut season, and was eliminated due to her partner for the sudden death challenge having given up, and because of a terribly cruel contestant's underhanded gameplay. Twilight is known to have...temper tantrums, and it's entirely possible she's using this island to throw one. My condolences, I know your team was also saddled with Natalie."
Confessional: Samuel: The Visceral Vampires
"Ohh, I see it now, what Twilight meant. Well played, Freya, well played. Unfortunately, I've been hanging out with Twilight enough to get where her anger issues come from. I've got some of my own, after all."
End Confessional
"You're lucky I'm not like Natalie, otherwise I'd have already beaten you senseless for trying to trick us like that." Samuel stood up. "Let's go, Antonio."
"Hey!" Kyle stood up. "Don't talk to my girlfriend that way, punk! How would you feel if I did that to yours?!"
"We aren't like that!" Samuel responded before widening his eyes and looking over at Freya's shocked facade of admiration for Kyle sticking up for her. For a split second her eyes locked with Samuel's and he could see the malevolence.
"I think I might have said too much…" He admitted quietly.
"You certainly have!" Kyle responded. "Apologize!"
"Y-you're right...I'm sorry Freya, that was uncalled for. I guess I was just being a bit paranoid."
"No, no, it's alright…" Freya waved the Vampires out of the cabin. "We all have those moments of paranoia where we make mistakes."
Confessional: Freya: The Bloody Banshees
"So Samuel has a thing for Twilight, huh? That makes turning him difficult, especially when I've already got Kyle as a boyfriend." Freya thinks about scenarios before she extrapolates to the camera. "To keep him and Aubrey under my control of course."
End Confessional
"Hey, you weren't sorry when you said that. Nor were you paranoid. You meant every word with certainty." Antonio called out Samuel once the door of the cabin had shut behind them.
"Yeah, but I think I might have accidentally screwed Twilight over. If Freya wasn't gunning for her before, she definitely will be now."
"Well, look at the silver lining. You know what kind of person she is now, so our trip was a success."
*BZZZZZZZZZZT*
"Speaking of success!" Chris announced over the loudspeakers. "You better hope that your team is successful in completing today's challenge! The curse this episode is one big doozy! I know it's wet, but I need the lot of you at the Mt. Immolate Summit, stat!"
Location: Mt. Immolate Summit
Contestant(s): All Remaining
"Welcome, wet campers" Chris announced as he stood in front of a whole heap of disc sleds piled on top of each other. "To Mountain Sledding! A challenge we can only do because the rain has made everything so muddy!" "In this challenge, the simple goal is to reach the bottom of Mt. Immolate as quickly as possible! If you fall off your sled, or if someone pushes you off your sled, you're out and you won't receive any points for your team. If you make it all the way down Mt. Immolate first, your team receives a point. If you are the last sled standing, your team receives a point. If you are both the last sled standing and managed to reach the bottom of Mt. Immolate, your team will receive 3 points. Each member of each team must go a minimum of 2 times, and your team must complete a rotation of its members before anyone can go again. Bloody Banshees, since you're a team of 4, two of your own will have to go 3 times. At the end of the ten heats, the team with the most points will win immunity, while the team with the least will...well, remember when I said you don't want to get this episode's curse? That's because this episode's curse is...Scattered Survivors! The team that comes in last place in this challenge will immediately be dissolved amongst the other teams. But that's not all...the eliminated contestant this time around will have the honor of being able to send one person from the three remaining teams to Weliweli island for exile until the next challenge! Any questions?"
Antonio raised his hand.
"So...anything goes on these sleds?"
"Just about!" Chris announced with glee. "I'll give the teams some moments to get ready."
Challenge: Mountain Sledding
Rules: Team members must pick a sled and head down Mt. Immolate. They earn points by reaching the bottom first or by knocking their competition off of their own sleds. Each member of each team must go twice for a total of 10 rounds. The Bloody Banshees, with only four members, have decided that Sherwood and Kyle will each take on a third go down the mountain.

Heat 4: Sherwood for the Banshees, Jaime for the Demons, Jamal for the Mummies, Aleister for the Vampires
Heat 5: Sherwood for the Banshees, Kaden for the Demons, Daniel for the Mummies, Samuel for the Vampires
Heat 6: Aubrey for the Banshees, Barnard for the Demons, Daniel for the Mummies, Molly for the Vampires
Heat 7: Kyle for the Banshees, Jaime for the Demons, Lucien for the Mummies, Aleister for the Vampires
Heat 8: Freya for the Banshees, Azami for the Demons, Tori for the Mummies, Twilight for the Vampires
Heat 9: Kyle for the Banshees, Kaden for the Demons, Lena for the Mummies, Samuel for the Vampires
Heat 10: Sherwood for the Banshees, Kaleaf for the Demons, Jamal for the Mummies, Antonio for the Vampires
Heat 1(Aubrey, Azami, Tori, Antonio)
"Up first, it's Aubrey for the Banshees, Azami for the Demons, Tori for the Mummies, and Antonio for the Vampires!" Chris announced as Aubrey, Azami, Tori, and Antonio all took sleds from the pile and sat at the starting line. "Players ready...go!"
The four sledders each took off down the mountain, with Azami in the clear lead, Aubrey and Antonio vying for second a few feet behind her, and Tori bringing up the rear.
"Tori! What the fuck are you doing?" Lena shouted. "Lean forward and speed up!"
"I'm sorry about this, Aubrey." Antonio stated calmly as he tapped his sled against hers and propelled into second place as Aubrey began to slow down.
"No!" Aubrey gripped her sled as best she could to avoid falling off of it.
"Go Antonio! Catch up and surpass the Demons now!" Samuel cheered.
"Stay in the lead, Azami! You've got this!" Kaden shouted encouragement.
"The teams wishing their sledders luck!" Chris announced. "Each one except the Banshees that is!"
Confessional: Sherwood: The Bloody Banshees
"It's not like we expect Aubrey to perform well in this challenge. Freya either for that matter. They're both too lightweight."
End Confessional
"Gah...gahhh….wahhh!" Aubrey couldn't handle her sled's turbulence anymore and flipped over in the mud. She sighed as she stood up and walked back towards the summit to the consolatory claps of her teammates for her effort.
"And that's one sledder down" Chris announced, "who will go down next?"
"Azami, I must apologize to you as well." Antonio muttered as he quickly gained on the gymnast, reaching his arms out to push her off.
"OH NO YOU WON'T!" Azami gripped Antonio's arm and used it as a lever to vault herself onto his own sled, knocking the artist off in the process.
"HAH!" she shouted at him as he sat up in the mud. "Nice try Vampire, but everyone knows the only thing you're good at is SUCKING! HAHAHAHAHA-" She laughed hysterically at her taunt until her overconfidence came back to bite her in the form of a rock she would have seen if she had been paying attention to the path down the mountain, and Azami too was tossed from the sled.
"Tori, you are fucking lucky that your slow as shit strategy somehow is earning you a point!" Lena yelled.
"Unfortunately...that's all it will earn her." Barnard chimed in, pointing to a mudslide that Tori had no hope to avoid.
"I can't watch." Lucien covered his eyes and turned his head away as Tori, like the others before her, was thrown from her sled into the mud.
"And that's the end of Heat 1!" Chris announced. "Tori scores a single point for the Macabre Mummies! Heat 2 contestants...take your places with your disc sled of choice!"
Heat 2(Kyle, Kaleaf, Lucien, Twilight)
"Heat 2, Kyle, Kaleaf, Lucien, Twilight!" Chris announced as the contestants got on their disc sleds. "Go!"
Almost immediately after descending down the muddy mountain, Lucien's disc toppled over.
Confessional: Lucien: The Macabre Mummies
"Whoa...that mud is way more slippery than Tori made it seem. Who knew?"

"Lucien, what the actual fuck? You barely started sledding!" Lena called out. "Tori was able to sled down fine, what's your deal?"
"Uhhh...the last deal I tried making was with the Vampires over there!" He pointed to Twilight and Aleister. "About working together to get rid of the Demons because they're strong."
Confessional: Lena: The Macabre Mummies
"That dumbass has to have known what I meant, right? I mean, there's no way someone can actually be as stupid as Lucien, right? For my sanity, that better be fucking right!"
End Confessional
Confessional: Tori: The Macabre Mummies
"Ahhhh….so this is your game, Luci. What a wonderful risk you're taking. I'm glad to have thrown my lot in with you and Lena."
End Confessional
"Take down the Demons ey?" Kyle muttered to himself as he, Kaleaf, and Twilight were all rather close to each other.
Confessional: Kyle: The Bloody Banshees
"Well, if they're of a disposition that makes someone like Helen up and quit the game, I can get behind that plan. Might be able to bring Kaden over here too, since he seems like a nice enough fellow."
End Confessional
"Twilight!" He called out. "Slow up, I'm gonna flank him!"
"But then you'll win instead of me! I'm not letting my team dissolve, Country kid!"
"Fine then, don't say I didn't warn ya'!" Kyle maneuvered his sled and slammed into both of them.
"You absolute fuck!" Kaleaf shouted as he threw a punch that hit Kyle square in the hip, but also gave his sled enough forward momentum to slide past the finish line first.
"Ahhhhh…." Kyle wheezed as he gripped his side.
Confessional: Kaleaf: The Dreadful Demons
"What? Chris said anything goes on the sleds, and the asshole had it coming. He came for me first."
End Confessional
"And KYLE wins it for the Banshees, also on the board with a point!"
"Woooo!" Freya cheered. "I knew you could do it, babe!"
Aubrey visibly winced as she clapped along.
Confessional: Aubrey: The Bloody Banshees
"Just a little longer, Aubrey. You only have to put up with this a little while longer…"
End Confessional
Heat 3(Freya, Barnard, Lena, Molly)
"It's time for Heat 3!" Chris announced "Freya, Barnard, Lena, and Molly. Are you ladies ready?"
"Ladies and gentleman." Barnard corrected.
"Pfft. As if that Vampire harlot can be considered a lady." Freya threw Molly some shade.
"You're one to talk, hopping from one guy to the next with such enthusiasm." Molly threw it right back.
"You're right." Chris nodded to Barnard. "Are you ladies, and Lena, ready?"
"Just tell us when to go, McLean!" Lena shouted.
"Alright, yeesh! You can go!" Chris held his hands up in a surrendering motion.
Almost immediately, before even moving her sled down the mountain, Lena had Barnard grappled.
"You wouldn't…" He reasoned. "I hope you realize what happens if the Demons dissolve. Only one of us goes home. The rest go to the other teams. It might do you some good to not have us as enemies."
"I don't care how many enemies I make, Scrawny." Lena snarled. "I only care about surviving, and making sure one shit-stain in particular doesn't. And the way I do that is by winning immunity."
Lena tossed Barnard off his disc sled and picked it up as she began to make her way down the hill towards a still bickering, and very slowly moving, Freya and Molly.
Confessional: Daniel: The Macabre Mummies
"Am I worried about Lena? Not...really. She'll over-exert herself one day and I'll just metaphorically slit her throat. I'm more concerned about Tori and Lucien, and even then, it's only a matter of time before one of them makes a huge mistake. My only immediate concern is who I give these immunity tikis away too so that I can keep mine. I already know which Vampire I'm willing the Vampire one to, and the Demon I'm willing the Demon one to, but the Banshees...I'm having a tough time deciding on that front."
End Confessional
"Tramp!"
"Slut!"
"Bitch!"
"Whore!"
Molly and Freya were shouting obscenities at each other as Lena swiftly approached from behind them with Kaleaf's disc sled as a weapon.
"You're both just a couple of *BEEP*s." She growled as with a swift blow, her disc sled weapon knocked both Freya and Molly off of their respective sleds.
Lena tossed Kaleaf's disc away afterwards, just for safety in Chris's ruling, as she crossed the finish line at the base of the mountain.
"And Lena with an upset victory for the Mummies!" Chris announced. "Scoring three more points! Mummies now sitting pretty at the top with 4, Banshees in second with 1, and the Vampires and Demons are deadlocked in last place both without a point to their name!"
Confessional: Twilight: The Visceral Vampires
"And Aleister is up next...great. Look, I don't doubt that he wants to win, I doubt his ability to win against the Banshee he's up against."
End Confessional
Heat 4(Sherwood, Jaime, Jamal, Aleister)
After Chris announced the names and started the race, heat 4 was fairly standard. Each contestant stuck to their own disc sled and simply tried out-speeding the others.
Jamal and Sherwood had the early lead, while Jaime and Aliester trailed behind, though not by much of a distance.
"Y'all better get used to cryin'/" Jamal smiled as his sled just barely made it passed Sherwood's as one by one everyone crossed the finish line. "'Cause Jamal's won this without even tryin'!"
Confessional: Daniel: The Macabre Mummies
Daniel has a genuine look of bewilderment on his face. "Did I just see what I thought I saw? Jamal...being at least a little useful? Why can't he do that stuff while under-, no, nevermind. It's probably just a fluke anyways, and what's one extra point when we're already so far ahead? Wow, after talking it out, I'm no longer at all impressed. Figures."
End Confessional
Heat 5(Sherwood, Kaden, Daniel, Samuel)
"Sherwood back at it right away for the Banshees!" Chris announced as the heat 5 contestants took their places. "And we have Kaden for the Demons, Daniel for the Mummies, and Samuel for the Vampires!"
Confessional: Samuel: The Visceral Vampires
"I have to win. Freya knows too much about our team for our fate to be left in any way in her hands. The Vampires need a point, and we need it badly, but there's no way I can beat both Kaden and Sherwood while we're in motion down a muddy mountain. I simply won't have enough control over my sled. So I'll use this challenge to help us secure that point we need in the next heat."
End Confessional
As Sherwood, Kaden, and Daniel all descended for the heat, Samuel began to tinker with his sled.
"Short Stuff, what the fuck are you doing? The race is starting!" Twilight called out.
"First of all, I'm taller than you so Short Stuff is getting a little on my nerves." Samuel called back. "Second of all, you'll be calling me Miracle Man after the next heat! Just...just trust me on this, okay?"
Twilight crossed her arms.
"Fine. If only because I can't do anything about it anyway."
Meanwhile, Sherwood and Kaden were in a dead heat and as Daniel tried to catch up to them he fell victim to a hidden rock in the mud and his sled toppled over.
"Ugh, figures…" He muttered.
"I'm sorry Sherwood, but I can't let the Demons disband." Kaden apologized as the two began to bump sleds in an effort to knock the other one off.
"I suppose I'll extend my sympathies towards you as well. However, I have to compete for a total of three times, and I've already failed to secure a single point once. I cannot have more than half of my heats be losses, even if in almost any other scenario I would have helped you paint a target on your back."
Confessional: Sherwood: The Bloody Banshees
"There aren't many places to hide when Freya continues to draw attention towards herself. Eventually someone more powerful than she will realize what I'm doing. When that time comes, I will want to either look as meek as possible, or be able to win every immunity, and it's real bloody difficult for me to look meek."
End Confessional
"And SHERWOOD wins another point for the Banshees!" Chris announced as Sherwood was able to scoot just passed Kaden and across the finish line. "The Banshees now at 2, the Mummies at 5, and the Demons and Vampires still tied by not even being on the board!"
Heat 6(Aubrey, Barnard, Daniel, Molly)
"Take this one." Samuel handed Molly the sled he'd been working on. "Because if we lose, there's no way the teams are going to pick you to be on them."
"I have more reasons to head to the Banshees than anyone else and half of their team knows it." Molly sneered. "You're more likely to be the last one picked, scrawny nerd. However…"
She took the sled. "I'll cooperate with you just this once. So I can show that idealist sister of mine that just 'believing' or 'doing what's right' isn't how you get ahead in this game. It's making deals, bribing, and blackmailing others. She's going to learn that lesson real bad."
Confessional: Samuel: The Visceral Vampires
"Please...please...if we still somehow lose this challenge, and she's on your team...vote her off. Please."
End Confessional
"Aubrey, Barnard, Daniel, and Molly!" Chris announced as Heat 6 took to their sleds. "Go!"
Molly rocketed down the mountain as quick as a flash on her modified sled, covering the other three contestants completely with mud.
"That's some record time!" Chris announced as Molly zoomed across the finish line. "Vampires now on the board with one!"
"Wow, gotta admit, that was slick, Samuel" Twilight gave his forearm a pat. "Well done. Just one problem, the idiot piloting your sled can't stop."
"I know." Samuel replied. "She was being a pill so I forced a little karma to go her way. It means we're going to be down the sled for a while, but all we need to do now is keep the Demons at 0. All anyone needs to do now is keep the Demons at 0."
"Well, if this crazy-ass plan of yours works, you definitely will be on your way to earning Miracle Man as a nickname. Keep it up, Lean Machine."
Heat 7(Kyle, Jaime, Lucien, Aleister)
"Heat 7, it's Kyle for second place Banshees at 2, Jaime for last place Demons without a point yet, Lucien for first place Mummies at 5, and Aleister for third place Vampires at 1. That said, this very much is still anyone's game. Contestants ready...go!"
Confessional: Aleister: The Visceral Vampires
"This is good. I will do my best to win, but more importantly, heheheheh...I understand that it's more important that the Demons lose!"
End Confessional
Before she had a chance to act, Jaime was shoved off her sled by Aleister.
"You're going to regret that." She muttered to herself.
Confessional: Jaime: The Dreadful Demons
"So this challenge was a complete bust for me, and I'm not too keen on placing my hopes on Azami, Kaden, and Kaleaf to somehow turn this around for us. Better hope the island gods have some fucking miracle planned, because I'll be damned if I go home before even getting to play the game."
End Confessional
Aleister, having done his duty, turned to catch up to Kyle and Lucien, who were butting sleds to be sure, but each seemed a little more focused on reaching the end than eliminating the other.
"You sure got a lot better at handlin' that sled in between your heats…" Kyle eyed Lucien suspiciously.
"Right? So weird!" Lucien laughed. "But uh...there aren't any more handles on this sled then there are on yours. Just the two on the sides."
"S-sure thing, partner." Kyle backed off from Lucien's strange remark.
Confessional: Kyle: The Bloody Banshees
"He's on oddball that Luci… makes me wonder if he's even paying attention sometimes."
End Confessional
"Can I confess something to you as we slowly cruise along towards the bottom of the mountain?" Lucien asked.
Kyle looked back, Aleister was still pretty far behind. "Sure, I guess." He replied.
"When I began setting up the teams...I really believed...in my heart of hearts...that you and Freya would end up destroying each other, but instead you're a couple, and dude...can I just say how unexpectedly happy I am for you?"
"Uhhh...what are you goin' on about?" Kyle rose a brow.
"Well, she just sorta strikes me as a bossy bitch, and you strike me as the kind of person who wouldn't be bossed around, especially if you disagree ethically with what you're being told to do. But somehow you're both still in the game, the biggest social and the biggest physical threats to me after the Demons. Guess I'll have to try harder now, huh?"
"I dunno what you're going on about, but Freya and I came to an understanding a while ago, and we're both feeling fine. We've got a common enemy to get rid of and our relationship is strong."
"Strong enough to survive the fall of that common enemy?" Lucien pondered. "Or to survive whatever new team members you'll get from the dissolving? Or worse, strong enough to survive your own team being dissolved?"
"Frankly, our romance is none of your business" Kyle was starting to get annoyed.
"Oh I know...I was just helping the Vampires keep their lead up on the Demons by distracting you." Lucien gave a low chuckle as Aleister, having taken a far route to avoid detection, passed the finish line.
"And the Vampires are tied with the Banshees at 2 points each!" Chris announced. "Three heats left for the Demons to pull of an upset and send a different team to be dissolved!"
Confessional: Kyle: The Bloody Banshees
"I can't believe I fell for that fool's trick...I should know better than to take anything he says seriously at all. Oh well, I'll make up for it by winning Heat 9."
End Confessional
Confessional: Lucien: The Macabre Mummies
Lucien says nothing, but his twinkling eyes and wide grin remain for a while before the confessional cuts out.
End Confessional
Confessional: Aleister: The Visceral Vampires
"Hehehe, alright, now that I've done my job, it's up to Twilight, Samuel, and Antonio to bring us all home. We'll be the team that took out the Demons, and the Mummies and Banshees will look to us for valuable allies instead of extra votes when the merge comes.
End Confessional
Heat 8(Freya, Azami, Tori, Twilight)
"Heat 8 has Freya for the Banshees, Azami for the dead last with 0 points Demons, Tori for the Mummies, and Twilight for the Vampires."
"SHUT IT MCLEAN!" Azami yelled, her eyes focused on the path ahead of her. "I'M TRYING TO CONCENTRATE SO I CAN PULL THESE USELESS TEAMMATES OF MINE OUT FROM THE FRYING PAN!"
"You were the first one of them to lose though." Tori observed.
"Go!" Chris announced, and Tori immediately suffered Azami's wrath as she took the gambler out immediately before zooming down the mountain, Twilight and Freya close behind.
"Gah!" Freya shrieked as Twilight rammed into her sled. "Go the other way, you brute, or do you want the Demons to win?"
"I can take out Miss Overconfidence myself." Twilight snarled. "I want to teach you a lesson about putting your claws of those nails in my Vampires!"
"What, Samuel? You can have him, I don't have any interest at all in a nerd like that. Wouldn't care if he never visited our cabin again!"
Confessional: Twilight: The Visceral Vampires
"I actually meant Aleister, the one who I knew she'd been talking with. But it's good to know that Samuel went at tried to peek at Medusa's face earlier this week."
End Confessional
Confessional: Freya: The Bloody Banshees
"It might be a challenge...but rule number one of Freya Merrim's Total Drama playbook: NEVER stop playing the Social game. Even in a challenge, even in an argument. All information I give away, I give away with intent. Enjoy the budding distrust in your little girlfriend, Samuel!"
Freya's face contorts into a sneer.
"A fitting punishment for daring to defy me to my face, in my own cabin, in front of my boyfriend! Err...person who believes he's my boyfriend!"
End Confessional
Twilight, in a fury, tossed Freya from her sled, and rushed to catch up to Azami. "I'm coming for you, Short and Shouty!"
"BRING IT, YOU'LL STILL LOSE!" Azami shouted back.
Confessional: Azami: The Dreadful Demons
"GO ME! GO AZAMI! WIN! WIN! WIN! WIN!"
End Confessional
The two were butting sleds in every direction. Until Twilight had a revelation.
She brought her sled back, and Azami crossed the finish line.
"AND AZAMI CLENCHES THE DEMON'S FIRST VICTORY!" Azami announced the situation for a bewildered Chris.
"That...is true…" Chris agreed. "But never take away my lines from me again! Host's orders!"
"YEAH, YEAH, I'LL LISTEN WHEN I COME DOWN FROM THIS WINNING HIGH!"
"Could you come down from the Volume high too?" Twilight massaged her temples.
Confessional: Twilight: The Visceral Vampires
"I'm not a complete idiot, If we kept pushing into each other with our stalemate, i'd have wiped out on that rock that took out Daniel earlier, and that would have given the Demons 3 points. I'd much rather only give them one. Besides, both us and the Banshees have 2, that's twice as many people concerned with not letting the Demons win. But now I need to have a talk with Samuel, it seems someone went ghost-hunting without permission."
End Confessional
Heat 9(Kyle, Kaden, Lena, Samuel)
"Heat 9, the Banshees and Vampires are tied at 2 points each, the Mummies are almost nearly untouchable with their 5 points total, and the Demons are super down, but still not quite out with their 1 point, thanks to Azami! Kyle for the Banshees, Kaden for the Demons, Lena for the Mummies, and Samuel for the Vampires...this heat could make or break your team's placement. Ready...go!"
Confessional: Lena: The Macabre Mummies
"I basically already won the challenge for us. I might as well make sure the Demons lose this heat before anything else."
End Confessional
"Gah...no!" Kaden was holding his own against Lina at the starting line while Samuel once again began to work away on his chosen sled, leaving Kyle to slide down the mountain alone.
"Hey...Vampire boy!" Lena shouted to Samuel. "Care to hurry it up and help me out here so I can make sure the Banshees don't overtake your team in points?"
Samuel paused, and thought about his options.
"This is a big risk." He let Lena know. "I'm putting a lot of trust in you to win this heat."
And with that, he rammed his sled into Kaden and the two tumbled into the mud. Lina grabbed Samuel's sled and rushed forward, sitting on it and carrying her own.
"Sorry country boy!" She called as she zoomed past a jaw-dropped Kyle and switched to her sled just before crossing the finish line.
"And the Mummies take 1 more point, no one can tie with them now! They'll get first pick of our unlucky last place team, which could still be anyone as we reach our tenth, and hopefully final heat!"
Heat 10(Sherwood, Kaleaf, Jamal, Antonio)
"Jamal is anchoring for the Mummies, the one team that doesn't need an anchor right now! Antonio is piloting the final sled for the Vampires, while Sherwood is the final contender for the Banshees, both teams are at 2 points, looking to increase their rank. Finally, Kaleaf is fighting for the last place Demons at only 1 point thanks to the fierce fighting of Azami! The Mummies might be safe for now, but this could be the last challenge the Banshees, Demons, or Vampires face as a team, and one of them will not survive this episode's Curse! Contestants, steel yourselves! Get ready...the fate of your team, and possibly even you, depends on this single heat. Steel yourselves! Get set! GO!"
The other contestants took no time whatsoever in bashing Jamal out of the race.
The Mummies had no place here. This fight was for one of the others to win.
"Gahh!" Kaleaf bashed between Sherwood and Antonio, an angry whirlwind of fists and mud that the other two had a tough time dealing with, though both managed to stay on their sleds and keep pace with him.
Confessional: Antonio: The Visceral Vampires
"Well, they do say a cornered animal is at its most threatening. And Kaleaf...he certainly has the look of a cornered animal right now. Therefore…"
End Confessional
Antonio pulled back a small amount, allowing Kaleaf unbridled access to Sherwood's sled, which he used to topple the Banshee from his vehicle.
"And that's another competitor down!" Chris announced. "It is now Kaleaf and Antonio vying for that finish line, and thanks to the detour that Kaleaf took while tossing Sherwood, the two are once again neck and neck, and grappled to each other, each trying to force the other from his sled!"
"I….won't...LOSE!" Kaleaf shouted.
"Yes...you...will…" Antonio responded forcefully through gritted teeth.
"It's anyone's guess!" Chris shouted.
"Kaleaf, Antonio, Kaleaf, Antonio...it might be too close to call!"
"GO KALEAF!" Azami shouted. "BE USEFUL FOR ONCE!"
"SPLOTCH YOU GOT THIS!" Twilight hollered. "TAKE THEM OUT! SCATTER THOSE DEMONS!"
"WE HAVE A WINNER!" Chris announced as both sleds crossed the finish line.

… ANTONIO! That's the challenge everyone! Our final standings are, first place: The Mummies with 6 points! In second place, the Vampires, with 3 points. The Banshees clench third place with 2 points, and finally, destined to be dissolved and scatter to the wind are the Demons, who only managed to score a single point. We'll give the teams some time to prepare for our special Po'ino Bonfire Elimination Ceremony, and I expect everyone there.
Confessional: Daniel: The Macabre Mummies
"So the Demons are up for grabs now are they? And we get to choose which one we want first? Good. This will help in my decisions for who to give the tikis to. Chris, it's before Po'ino. I've written down who I want to have each one. I'll keep my own, and I'll leave the others here for an intern to collect and hand them off later tonight."
End Confessional
Location: Po'ino Bonfire Elimination Ceremony
Contestant(s): All Remaining
Dissolved: Azami, Barnard, Kaden, Kaleaf, Jaime
Banshees: Aubrey, Freya, Kyle, Sherwood
Mummies: Daniel, Jamal, Lena, Lucien, Tori
Vampires: Aleister, Antonio, Molly, Samuel, Twilight
"Former Demons…" Chris announced. "Your team is hereby disbanded. You will not receive the chance to vote for one of your own tonight. Instead...you will be drafted into the other teams."
He pointed to Daniel, Antonio, each holding a crystal ball, and Freya holding two. "These three have been randomly selected to choose for their teams. They can listen to council from their teammates, but ultimately, the choice to keep you safe or send you home falls to them. Because the Mummies won the challenge, Daniel receives first pick."
"Perhaps it's a little obvious…" Daniel walked up towards the dissolved Demons. "But I think the only one capable of actually winning, Azami, is the best choice for us to pick." He handed Azami the first crystal ball.
Confessional: Azami: The Macabre Mummies
"HAH! TAKE THAT IDIOTS WHO TRIED TO VOTE ME OUT, I'M SAFE!"
End Confessional
Confessional: Daniel: The Macabre Mummies
"Azami is a perfect choice, because she and Lena won't get along at all, and she actually is a good physical asset, meaning Lena's usefulness is severely depleted. The sooner I erase any traces of Isaac, the better for my game. That idealist idiot was voted out first and somehow he's still opposing me through her."
End Confessional
"Next up...is Antonio, picking who to join the Vampires."
"Remember, Splotch it's not about who we need, it's about who we can't afford the Banshees to get." Samuel cautioned.
Freya hid a smirk.
"Hm…." Antonio looked over Jaime, Barnard, Kaden, and Kaleaf.
Confessional: Antonio: The Visceral Vampires
"Who we can't afford the Banshees to get...Ahhh."
End Confessional
"Barnard. You are now one of us." Antonio handed Barnard a crystal ball.
"I see. Thank you." He nodded. "I promise you won't regret this decision."
Confessional: Barnard: The Macabre Mummies
"I'm free from the other Demons, but taking into account Helen's outburst and Twilight's disposition, I am by no means free to debate for debate's sake just yet. Still, I can see myself at least getting along with Antonio and Samuel, and I certainly owe them for metaphorically saving my life in this game. Now, perhaps, my game can begin in earnest."
End Confessional
"Freya…" Chris announced. "There are three contestants left...and you have two crystal balls."
"My first one…" Freya looked back at Kyle with a smile before returning to face the dissolved Demons. "Goes to Kaden."
"Huh?" Kaden perked up.
"Huh?" Aubrey perked up.
"I've been told countless times by Kyle that you were always out catching food for your team, even when they didn't appreciate it. We value contribution here. Go on, take the crystal ball."
Confessional: Kaden: The Bloody Banshees
"Did Freya just take advice? From someone I could have sworn didn't like her? I'm so confused. Really really confused. What matters though is that I'm still in this game, and Azami is still in this game. Still, we should both stay on guard."
End Confessional
"And then there were two… The two that sat out the last challenge." Freya folded her arms. "Can't say I really want either of you on my team. Right guys?"
She turned back around to the rest of the Banshees. Sherwood and Kyle nodded, Aubrey nodded as well with some reservation, having sat out the same challenge, but Kaden stood firm. "They're still my teammates, and they can still help in challenges."
Confessional: Jamie
"So...it appears...Helen was correct after all. Kaleaf and I are here, one of us about to leave the game, and it's not even our own team dealing the blow."
End Confessional
Confessional: Kaleaf
"Great...so one of the two of us has to go home. Well, I should count my lucky stars then. I am a muscular guy who can hold his own in challenges, and that's basically catnip to Freya. Sucks that Jaime never really got to play but this isn't about what's fair this is about the worthy continuing on through strength."
End Confessional
"Jamie, come take the last crystal ball, please!" Freya smiled sweetly.
"WHAT?" Kaleaf shouted. "I work twice as hard as she does. I nearly saved the team during the last challenge, I'm strong! Why are you picking her?"
"Responding in order to your questions and statements…" Freya began with a breath.
"I'm picking Jaime over you, deal with it. If you work twice as hard as she does, that's not the highest example you could be setting, since I have yet to see her working. You did nearly save your team during the last challenge and you are strong, but I already have three hard-working strong men who aren't prone to fits of rage, and finally...and most importantly… is this…"
She walked up to Kaleaf and spoke in a quiet tone that only the camera could pick up.
"You are a return. Your existence is a threat to my spotlight. Now I only have to focus on getting rid of the Vampire returns."
"You have made…" Kaleaf clenched his fists as Jaime joined the rest of the Banshees. "A game-ending mistake."
He turned to Chris. "Chris, before I get in the Coffin of Shame, I choose the three to send to Weliweli, correct?"
"That's right, go ahead my bro."
"This will be easy then. From the Mummies...Daniel."
Daniel shrugged. "Figures."
"From the Vampires...Aleister."
"Me? You sure?" Aleister asked. "I've gone to Weliweli already, and I can handle it fine.
"We've all gone to Weliweli already." Twilight rolled her eyes. "Just go."
She whispered in his ear. "Besides, don't you want to be our special info-getter from the other two teams? It's a super important position."
"I shall go." Aleister nodded.
"And finally, from the Banshees…" Kaleaf looked straight ahead. "Freya."
"Pffft…" Freya laughed as walked Kaleaf up to the Coffin of Shame along with the other Weliweli bound contestants. "You think Weliweli is going to stop me? I might hate it there, but I'm not going to quit or anything because of it."
"No...but you will be leaving two new teammates, who have seen your debut season I might add, alone in your cabin with Kyle and Aubrey and Sherwood. Freya...you've let the Demons into your home, and they're going to clean up the mess that your drama has created, leaving you alone, and on the bottom. Just. Like. Last. Time. So congratulations, you've taken me out, a threat to your spotlight, but remember, when you're the next one to leave, that I've taken you with me!"
Kaleaf lay inside the coffin as Chef closed it and ushered a genuinely frightened Freya onto the boat where Daniel and Aleister were waiting.
"And that's a wrap on both this episode and the team known as the Dreadful Demons." Chris announced. "Can Jaime, Barnard, Azami, and Kaden fight their footing on their new teams? Who has Daniel willed the tikis to? And how much of Kaleaf's final words will come to pass? Find out at least the tiki thing next time!
On Total Drama Nui Kaua…
The Cursed…
Island!"
*Kaleaf's Final Confessional
"Well, I lost again, and I'm so pissed about it, Especially because it wasn't my team that voted me off either. It was some bitch of a contestant and I think for the first time I'm realizing how composed Helen must have been to have experienced similar rage and not blown a hole in this coffin. Freya's going to get what's coming to her, and she's going to be the next to ride the Horror Hearse off the island, just you wait and see. There is no way I will allow my unfair elimination to go unpunished. That's a Kaleaf Hume guarantee."
End Confessional*
There were no Votes this episode.
AN: Kaleaf, Kaleaf, Kaleaf…
The first Nui Kaua returnee to get the boot, and also the first of the three "I was voted out first from my team" returnee reasons for returning. I can't say too much about him, except that he was as violent and angry as he was in his previous season. With Phooka gone, Kaleaf didn't have much use left as more than an angry villain. What he did have, however, was a good role to serve as a wake-up call for the other Demons who didn't listen to Helen's outburst. Their actions aren't seen by only their team, it carries over into the challenges as well, and on an island as small as Nui Kaua, gossip travels fast. Ultimately, it really was his returning status that got him the boot before Jaime, and this elimination is just the catalyst that Jaime needs to get her own plot started. Barnard too for that matter. Kaleaf also, I think, needed to experience what an 'unfair' elimination was like, after his giant fights with Helen, I think it ties his plot together nicely, especially since this cycle of hatred overshadowing good decisions ends in him pointing that very lesson out to Freya.
Having studied his actions through the season, Kaleaf receives the status of: Villain.
I can think of a few arguments for a neutral ruling, but ultimately, Kaleaf was violence-prone, unliked by most of his teammates, and especially in this challenge, did whatever he could to win, without concern for others.
Kaleaf's Best Moment: Honestly hard for me to pinpoint, because there are a few that I actually kind of enjoy. I like his talk with Phooka about standing up for oneself, but I also very much enjoy his "Taking you with me" speech to Freya at the end. If I have to pick, I'll go with the latter.
But of course, this is all just my opinion. What do you guys think?
Any thoughts on this episode's curse?
How do you think the team dynamics will change now that the Demons have been distributed amongst the other three?
Any thoughts or hopes on what the next episode's curse might be?
And, as always, thanks for reading!
