Note: Another chapter? WHO IS SHE? Anyways, enjoy! :)
Chapter 12
Amy's alarm went off at 4:45am, like it did every morning. But instead of immediately rising up out of bed, like she normally would, Amy stayed laying, staring up at the ceiling.
She kept playing back the night over and over again, just to make sure she didn't miss anything. Did last night really happen? Her bruised lips assured her that it had; she lightly touched them, thinking of Sonic's lips on hers, and felt her cheeks grow warm. Amy sprang up out of the bed and moved to her dresser.
Just who did that hedgehog think he is, going all romantic on her last night, expressing feelings and touches. That wasn't the Sonic she knew. She pulled on joggers and a shirt. The Sonic she knew wouldn't have said a word, would have kept all of his feelings in, and run away at the first sign of any sort of intimacy with her. Intimacy... she felt her cheeks flush again as she grabbed her keys and headed out the door.
Amy's feet pounded on the sidewalk as she started jogging. She kept feeling Sonic's hands on her body, his lips on hers. She remembered the feel of his body pinning her against the tree. She ran faster. It was all she could think about. When she has been younger, she had always wanted to be with Sonic, but it was innocent. Holding hands, maybe sharing a kiss here and there. Young Amy hadn't known what a real relationship could or would entail. She had just wanted Sonic as a boyfriend so that he would be with her and stop running away all the time. Grown Amy knew what came with relationships. Grown Amy knew what she had committed herself to. Didn't she?
Amy came up to the football field at the high school a few blocks over from her house. She jumped the fence and started sprinting around the track. Amy had wanted Sonic before but that was in innocence. Now, Amy wanted Sonic in the way a woman wanted a man. Her emotions were in turmoil and she was fighting against her hormones. She stopped running and walked to the football field. No, she wasn't going to fight her emotions. She learned long ago the best way to deal with them was to sit with them, let them wash over her for a moment, and then move on.
But... these emotions didn't move on. Amy dropped to the ground and began her workout routine starting with push-ups. She analyzed what she was feeling. Love, definitely. She absolutely loved Sonic. But also a lot of lust. Sonic was her dream man, and had been since she was a girl. Now that she was an adult woman and he was coming to her as such, she was taken aback. If she was being honest with herself, and she was going to be, no matter what, she had wanted Sonic to take her last night.
Amy cursed under her breath. She had, damn it. She wanted him and hadn't wanted him to stop. Damn it all, she would have loved to have gone all the way with him. Under the moonlight, right at the water's edge. Wild and passionate.
"Dammit, Amy, get it together!" she snapped to herself. "He showed self-control, why can't you?" Because she didn't want to, and she knew it. Amy was tired of being the responsible one. She was tired of always doing the right thing. She wanted to do something reckless. These past 4 years all she had done was follow the rules. And even before that, she had always been the one taking care of others and looking out for them. She wanted to be looked after for once. Be wild, for once. And as much as she did want Sonic, she hadn't asked him to continue when he pulled away. She was the one that initially tried to pull away.
"Why? Why didn't you tell him to keep going?" she asked herself. She hated to admit this to herself, but she was scared. It would be her first time. She didn't know what to do. Would it be his first time? She snickered to herself. Probably not. Sonic was the fastest thing alive, and the most wanted guy by all the ladies, not just her. There was no way that he had been saving himself for her, that was absolute wishful thinking. Sure, he said that he loved her, but what if it was all a lie? Amy shook her head and sighed. It wasn't a lie. He had kissed her with such passion she knew that he loved her in her bones. And that wasn't wishful thinking. For that, she was secretly thankful. She had always wanted to believe that she was special to Sonic, and it turns out she was, since he had asked her to be his girlfriend.
Amy walked back to her house, workout routine done. She was Sonic's girlfriend now. Amy hadn't thought about what all that would entail. She also smiled at the fact that they were going to celebrate them finally dating, Sonic and her, at Gems & Gents. She wondered what all that would entail.
Sonic felt the sunlight on his face. He opened his eyes and then shut them again. He let out a deep sigh. He replayed the night in his mind. God, he had wanted her so badly. But she had pulled away. Sonic had been a little hurt when she had tried to put distance between them, but then he had chalked it up to her being nervous. If he had been reading her actions right, everything had seemed like she had wanted him to continue. As if she hadn't wanted him to stop when he did. But, maybe he had just been misinterpreting things. He rolled over and stared at the ceiling. He needed a run to clear his mind.
The best outcome of the night, though, was that Amy Rose was his girlfriend. She was finally his Amy, just like he had always secretly wanted. Sonic had been worried for a heartbeat, that she wouldn't say yes. That she would try to prove to herself that she didn't need him anymore... didn't want him anymore. The relief he had felt when she told him yes had been immense. Sonic hadn't realized until that moment that he had a fear of rejection when it came to Amy. He had been afraid that she wouldn't want him. That she wouldn't love him, like she said she always would. The dynamic had shifted.
Sonic smirked and bolted down the street. The wind on his face helped him think. The dynamic was definitely different. Whereas before Amy would constantly chase him down and always try to insert herself into whatever he was doing, now it was Sonic who was trying to pin Amy down and keep her attached to him at all costs. Hmm, pin her down... just like when he had her pinned up against the tree. Her body crushed against his, limbs tangled and lips connecting... Sonic felt heat in his face and his groin. He hadn't wanted to stop, but he wasn't going to force Amy to do anything she didn't want, or wasn't ready for.
Hell, she had chased him around for years, never asking for more than his company. Well, and to be his girlfriend. "Guess what, Ames, " he thought to himself, "you got your wish. And more." He grinned. He couldn't wait to celebrate at Gems & Gents.
