Chapter 17: Seconds

Serenity had run from her study, leaving a confused Endymion in her place, with her one-and-a-half-year-old daughter. She knew he would be confused, her and Endymion had stopped trying for three months, she didn't understand why. One point in time he wanted another child then the next week, he didn't. She didn't understand but she realised now, that she could give him another child.

Because she was with child. His child was growing inside of her, blossoming as well as Small Lady. So she was extremely happy when Aina had confirmed she was thirteen to fourteen weeks along into her pregnancy, and wasn't surprised to see a tiny bump that Endymion hadn't noticed yet.

"Mamo" Serenity said with a smile as Endymion walked in to the bedroom with Serenity sitting in Small Lady's old Bedroom.

"Mama" Small Lady said as she walked carefully over to her mother and sat down with her. "Hello" she said says as she pulled her mother's hair, noticing the buns. Endymion smiled as the light reflected on the old tear stains on his wife's cheek.

"What's Wrong?" Endymion asks her gently and she smiles. Slightly, she shakes her head.

"I'm fine…more than fine. If I'm lucky, things might work my way…I will be lucky" She says and he noticed the confident tone in her voice. So she decides, and she knew he didn't know that she would tell him.

"I'm pregnant" She says and his face becomes unreadable. Serenity sat there confused and concerned until Endymion stood up and left. Then she realised, he knew. So, she chased after him holding their daughter until she ran into her senshi. "Can you help me find Endymion." She says and everyone frowns.

"He…" Minako says as Small Lady jumps out of Serenity's arms and Into Minako's with a grin. "He said that he wanted to be alone for a while, Kunzite, Nephrite, Zoizite and Jadeite all followed after him to talk to him." Minako says as she hugs Small Lady awkwardly around her bloated stomach.

Then Serenity runs. Three of the senshi chase after her but, even having one child and another one on the way, didn't make her any slower than the senshi. So she managed to get to Endymion in the gardens. Who turned to her and she saw why they tried to stop her.

Her husband was crying. She had never seen him cry before, which made her burst into tears. He hugged her tightly into his chest and she hugged him back. None of the girls knew about the pregnancy but she knew they would find out soon. So, she didn't let go of him until he let go of her. "Why are you so upset? What have I done wrong?" she whispers, and he sighs, his breath splitting into multiple sections.

"I just don't want to lose you" he says, then his facial features go cold. "We're supposed to be partners in together Usako…but you've decided on your own to leave me" Endymion says and she could feel the tears go down her face. "I wanted another child, of course I did. But Kunzite told me what would happen when we were to try and that's why I stopped. I just don't want to loose you" he says, ending it softly.

"The silver crystal provides balance, it's almost a blessing and a curse" she whispers. "My mother and father tried, and they were unluck. The silver crystal rendered my mother infertile because she married someone who wasn't a heir to the throne, so she only had me. The silver crystal keeps the generation of young, female heirs to silver millennium in a straight line to take the throne." Serenity says.

"It's a blessing and a miracle that I have managed to become with child again" she whispers. "So please…don't ruin this, this might be different than all other female silver millennium rulers" she whispers and Endymion nods.

"I just feel like your pushing me away, forcing me to live without you" he whispers and she shakes her head.

"I just want Small Lady to have a sister or brother" Serenity whispers, she realised the look Endymion had in his eyes. He wanted it too.

*Several Hours Later*

Endymion walked into the master bedroom with a sigh. After talking with Aina they had come to a conclusion; Aina couldn't heal Serenity if she was to die giving birth. So he was worried, even more worried than usual. But when he walked into the room, he stripped his heavier formal wear off and something, a lump that blended into the bed caught his eye, along with long strands of blonde hair.

He walked over to look at his wife's sleeping face and he noticed the dry tear stains. And next to her, wrapped in her mother's arms was his daughter. He smiled as he traced Serenity's soft features, her eyes flickering gently as she woke up. Her limps formed into smiled that made her look sad, especially by the look in her eyes.

"What's wrong" he asked her gently, as he was concerned. She smiled.

"Nothing" she whispers as she looks away from his eyes. He knew she was lying, so he gave her the look, and she snapped. The clear tears started falling and he watched her lip tremble.

"Rei-san yelled at me" she whispers. "She called me careless, and stupid, and…" she starts to sob. He places his hand on her cheek, wiping away her tears. "she said that all I'm doing Is dooming you to loosing me and having to face Seiya on my own. Leaving my daughter without a mother" she cries and he frowns.

"It will all work out Sere" he whispers as he hugs her gently, and carefully. She smiled slightly.

"I think so too" she whispered.

AN: I actually planned the next few chapters out too the end. We go to 22 chapters and it's wild. It has been absolutely wonderful to write this and explore this with you all and hearing your feedback actually has made me cry on numerous accounts that I am so happy.

And to the review (Either on AO3 or Fanfiction) you'll understand next chapter, I promise. I actually had a really good idea last night, while going through all my fanfiction I have written, and seeing my improvement in writing, and it's all thanks to you guys. If you have been around on my Fanfiction account for a while… I have posted a… work called Too Many Promises. And I realised how my 2019 year old self was cringy… so im calling a Re-Write. Yay.
