Chapter 19: Incoming Warnings
As normal, the sun bounced in through the windows into Serenity and Endymion's bedroom through the clear glass window. But the King and Queen or Earth and Silver Millennium did not stir.
They didn't stir until their two year old daughter barged through the room, smashing the doors into the wall and startling both the parents awake. Serenity failed to catch her breath and collapsed back onto the white bed while Endymion just threaded his fingers through his hair.
"It's just Small Lady" He says and she nods, he noticed her hand over her heart in spite of the shock she had received. But all Small Lady did was tug at her mother's arms and whine. "Small Lady come over here" Endymion says and she held her arms out as she jumped straight on top of her mother, scaring her again before toddling over on all fours to her father. "Small Lady, you can't do that to your mother"
"Sorry mama" Small Lady whispers before crawling up to her side.
"It's alright Small Lady, now come on. The birthday girl has some presents to open after breakfast" Serenity says and Endymion laughs.
"I almost forgot in the chaos of Small Lady" Endymion whispers. "Happy Birthday my darling wife" Endymion says as he quickly presses a kiss to her mouth. Serenity smiled and deepened it before they had to pull apart.
"Eww" Small whines as she covers her eyes. They laughed in unison before decided to change.
"Come on Small Lady, let's go get you changed" Serenity says as she carries the two-year-old on her hip. The child wiggles free and runs straight to her quarters before the eighteen-year-old could even call out her name. Serenity just laughed as she followed along.
Serenity picked her daughter out a pink dress before sliding it over her head. The Princess just whined as her mother got her ready. "Mama" Small Lady whispers. "Why Don't I have hair wike wou?" she whispers and Serenity smiles.
"Because, you have a combination of Papa's and my coloured hair" Serenity says gently as she twists her daughter's hair into each individual bun. "So your hairs a dark brown because that's the way you were born" she whispers and Small Lady frowns.
"But Awi and Wie and Makwo and Miwa 'ave coword hair" she whispers.
"Because Mercury, Mars, Jupiter and Venus were all born on different planets, so they all each individually have different heritages… what I mean is that the girls were born like that because they are special because they come from different areas od the world" Serenity explains.
"Oh" Small Lady whispered.
"See, your hairs almost like mine, and It grows long too." Serenity says as she points to the two buns on her head. Small Lady grinned and spun around. "Mama needs to have a shower and get dressed now. Why don't you run to Papa?" Serenity suggests as she walks towards the door and opens it. Small Lady took of and Serenity smiled. Quickly, not hesitating to miss another moment with her husband and Daughter, she stripped and stepped into the shower. Not long after she stepped in, she heard a conversation from outside the room.
"Small Lady, stay here for a minute".
"Papa" Small Lady whined.
"I just want to talk to Mama for a minute" the door opens and Serenity laughs as Endymion steps in, carefully closing the door behind him. Serenity shut of the water and turned to her husband with a grin before wrapping herself up in a towel. She heard the footsteps behind her and turned to face him, where her hair slapped in in the face. "Ow" he muttered and Serenity just giggled.
"Mamo…" she shook her head. "Poor Small Lady might explode if you don't get out of there soon enough" Serenity says with a smile as Endymion's arms wrapped around her, so his hands were resting on her towel in the lower regions of her back.
"I was just deciding for birthday plans for my wife" Endymion spoke seductively. Serenity smiled. "You know…since we're celebrating your birthday tomorrow, I thought, I didn't want everyone taking up your attention so quickly. So how about once Small Lady is in bed we could, you know…hit the sack too" he whispers with a wiggle of his eyebrows. Serenity slapped his chest gently.
"You know you'll get what you want eventually, now just go and take care of our daughter while I get dressed" Serenity says as she walked out the bathroom and into the wardrobe. Endymion laughed as he opened the bathroom door and Small Lady came running in.
"Mama! Mama" Small Lady giggled as she tugged at Serenity's towel. Automatically, she clutched it tighter. "Makwo said we had big cak'" Small Lady says as she beamed up at her mother.
"That's great Small Lady" Endymion said from behind her. "Now let's let mama get dressed in peace." He says as he scoops Small Lady of the ground and out of the room. Quickly Serenity got dressed and brushed her hair before twisting and turning her hair into the same hairstyle as her daughter. Then she set off to the dining room to find her daughter.
When she arrived, she noticed Small Lady running around chasing after Luna and Endymion talking to Artemis. She smiled as he turned to her and motioned his hand to include her in the conversation. "The girls planned a surprise party in the park for Small Lady around noon today for her." Endymion says with a shrug. "So it's just us three or six, if Luna, Diana and Artemis stay around for the day with us" Endymion says. Serenity grins.
"Sure thing" Serenity says with a nod. She knew Minako would be comforting her son and daughter, meanwhile Ami was pregnant and so was Rei, to both of their disgusts. But even though they didn't want to be pregnant, they still were happy with anything.
"Mama" Small Lady bounced up to her mother and help up her arms. Serenity obliged by picking her up and placing her in her highchair. Quickly the pancakes were served out and Small Lady and Serenity finished theirs before Endymion had even finished his coffee.
"So, what do my birthday girls want to do today?" Endymion asked as he held his coffee and placed down his paper he was reading.
"Pwesents" Small Lady says as she waves her arms towards one of her parents. Serenity quickly obliged again by placing the toddler on the ground, who quickly ran towards their private living room. Immediately, Small Lady and Serenity sat down on the ground and Endymion sat on the couch.
"Come on Mamo, you're not going anywhere today" Serenity says as she gestures towards the empty space next to her. Endymion just laughs and slides down onto the ground. Serenity picks up a silver present and holds it out to her daughter gently. "Here Small Lady" She gently hands her daughter the small gift with a tiny hole she had teared in it so her daughter wouldn't have any difficulty. To her prediction she was right and opened a small, toddler sized, silver bracelet.
"This was one of mine when I was little" Serenity says "I thought you might like it as well" she whispers and Small Lady beams before holding her hand out to her mother.
Ten minutes later Serenity pulled out a soft present for her daughter, and her heart was breaking. Small Lady took it eagerly and tore of the paper to reveal a stuffed bunny. "It will keep you safe… It helped me when I was younger and I thought you would like it" Small Lady grinned.
"Wank Wou Mama" She hugged her mother eagerly before a guard came barging into their room.
"Your Highness" a Palace guard says as they come running up to them, stopping in a bow. "We've received teleportation from Prince Seiya of the Stars from the moon. You said he was a threat so we are standing guard at the palace teleportation room. But he's gone somewhere else on earth" he informs the high king.
"Alright. Gather up supplies, we'll go to the underground bunker" Endymion announces. The guard nods and turns to walk towards the emergency supply room.
"Come here Small Lady" Serenity calls their daughter and Small Lady complies, coming to her mother's legs, tugging gently at her dress. In her eyes, she knew this was about to end soon. With either her husband or Seiya dead.
"Operate Evacuation and call-in extra Medics" Endymion spoke, and the guard nodded before leaving. "Come through the wardrobe" Endymion spoke as he led his wife towards the room. Then, pulling something on a wall, a door opened and revealed a secret and hidden room. Carefully, they all stepped inside and ran down the millions of steps to reach another room with beds, devices, and food. Small Lady whined in annoyance.
"Mamo" serenity spoke carefully as her husband sat down on the chair and table towards all the devices.
"We should be safe here. I'll just be going though all safety measures around the castle. Endymion spoke.
And they were safe, until they heard the footsteps coming down the stairs from the royal bedroom. And out of the door, appeared Seiya, wielding a sword. So in advanced, Endymion drew his.
They were trapped.
