Chapter 21: Road to Recovery

Endymion didn't wake up to another warm body next to his like every morning but woke up to empty sheets and a stinging pain in his shoulder. The sun wasn't out, in fact it was raining on earth and he wasn't with his wife.

So he stood up and looked around the room, which all he could see was curtains, coloured a pale blue colour. Then he remembered his wife, a white light and then when he went unconscious. Then a nurse came in and smiled at him.

"I see your awake" the nurse said gently to him. "I guess you're looking for the queen, your clothes are over there, you can get dressed and we'll take you to her" the nurse says gently. Endymion complies with the orders, and then he leaves his hospital section and walks towards his wife.

When they opened the curtain, his heart ached for her. Her body was lying there, motionless and her face was expressionless. It didn't look like she was sleeping to recover, so he turned to the nurse writing things on her clipboard. "What's wrong with her? She isn't like this" Endymion spoke.

"King Endymion, the silver crystal has put Queen Serenity into a Coma. She wont wake until her body is fully recovered" the nurse spoke before leaving. The high King decided that there was only one way he could talk to the woman before him, and it was their mating bond they shared.

But when he reached out to her, he wasn't expecting her to be in a dream.

"Mamo" Serenity whispered as she woke up on his chest, Endymion smiled and traced her spine gently with his fingers.

"Hey Usako" he whispers.

"You don't belong to Endymion. You are mine" Seiya's voice booms over her. Then there was a blur and Serenity watched Endymion die in front of her over and over again in the same way. Each time Seiya was killing him every time with a sword. But then, it morphed again and before her, was her daughter and Endymion again. "say bye Serenity" Seiya says before slicing Endymion and Small Lady.

"Serenity"

"PLEASE DON'T HURT THEM." Serenity screamed.

"Usako" Endymion's voice resounded in her mind and serenity woke up shocked. Her breath was fast, and she was still lying down. Carefully she rolled onto her side to allow the tears to be soaked by the pillows.

Endymion heard the sobs from Serenity on her front and stroked a careful hand through her blonde hair. Serenity turned around shocked. "You're…your alive?" she whispers as she stretches her hand towards his face. He nodded.

"Where's Small Lady?" he asks her and she frowns slightly, but her look in her eyes was enough to know that she went somewhere safe.

"I sent her off with Minako and the girls" she whispers as she moves her legs over the edge of the bed. She searched his eyes for a moment, imagining the ocean from the deep blue. She slid into his lap on the chair and held him close for as long as she needed.

Endymion pressed his mouth into her hair, her forehead, her cheeks every now and then. He didn't want to let her go. Not now, not ever. But then, he felt her mouth move quietly and turned to her. "Parden" he askes her gently.

"What are we going to do with Seiya?" Serenity whispers. Endymion shrugs.

"We did what we did with beryl" he suggests gently.

"oh" she whispers. "I thought you'd want something harsher. Not that I want to I just thought you'd want to make him pay for trying to take me away" she whispers. Endymion shrugs, knowing in the future he probably would.

"Maybe, but for now lets just focus on important things" Endymion whispers and she nods. "you were really brave, doing that. Using the crystal to save me. I'm proud of you" he says gently and she blushes.

"I had to, he was going to kill you" she whispers as she presses her lips against him one more time.
