Four
Today is the Family Day, when I hang out with my friends. Normally Zeke and Uri would pull a prank, and the rest of us laugh about it. I'm still surprised that old Mrs Millers loves it. I get outside to my car, and drive to the school. The drive there is about 2 minutes, but it beats a twenty minute walk. When I walk in, I see girls look in my direction and whisper. They always giggle around me, but they wouldn't if they knew I was a werewolf. My soulmate is Beatrice Prior, which I know is Tris. Tonight, she'll get her soul mate, unless she's a Deorsum Fluens. I don't believe she will be. There is only ever a rare case where one mate is not paired with other. I call it Artemis' misfortune, although it does not have an proper name. I see Tris, Uriah, and Zeke, and I walk up to them. "Hey, what's happening?" Tris looks at me, and looks back at the brothers. "The Pedred-Prior annual prank," Zeke announces, and Four joins. Zeke doesn't add to name, because he has given up. Typical.
The plan is to put fake rats into Miss Matthews (the Chemistry teacher) office. We all know that she is deathly terrified of them, and students in the past haven't thought of this somehow. We all laugh, as Zeke and I head off to the two dollar shop.
"Four, can I ask you something?" Zeke asks as we walk down to the shops. I nod. "What are you? Are you a werewolf, vampire, warlock?" I let out a light chuckle, and he joins in. I sigh, and look around, making sure no ones hears. We walk into the store, and I say. "Werewolf." He looks at me, befuddled. "I'm a werewolf," I repeat, and he nods. We shake hands, and set out to by 3 dozen of these fake rats. We purchase them, and head back to the school. "Who's your soulmate?" He blurts. "If you have one, I mean..." he adds, quickly murmuring. I sigh, and hope he doesn't hate me. He didn't hate me when I told him what I was, why now? "Beatrice Prior. My soulmate is Tris." His jaw drops, and I laugh nervously. "I knew it! I knew you had a massive crush on her!" I flush, and laugh, again. God, Zeke is crazy, but he's my best friend.
When we get back, I see Tris lying on the floor, pale. She has foam coming out of her mouth, and Uriah is crying. I've never seen Uriah cry before, since he's always so bubbly. I run up to her, and ask Uriah what happened.
"Wolfsbane," he chokes out.
