Tris:

I whimper, and Mom injects me with a needle with a clear serum in it. I cower away from it, and she plunges it into my neck. I fall asleep.

Tomorrow at school, I see Peter. He's a vampire, from Hayes descent. They're strong, but all of them lack brain cells. He spots me and grabs my wrist with vamp speed. "Hey," he smirks, and I try to pull away. He kisses my neck, and I wished Tobias was here. I push him off me, but he's stronger than I. He moans, lightly, and I freak. I knee him in the nuts and run as fast as I can. Of course, he's faster than me, and I sprint. My wolf motivates me, and I look behind me to see Uri and Peter. They aren't fighting, but they're tempted to. I drag Uriah away before he reveals the whole Supernaturals. The bell rings, and I run to Geo.

Of course, the class is boring, and I fall half asleep. I get good grades, so I don't get called out. When the end of the day finally comes, I see Tobias waiting for me. I scratch the back of my neck and remember what my wolf was saying last night. "He's mine, all mine." I flush, and he chuckles nervously. "Hey, Tris," he smiles, and I notice the bags under his eyes, and I see that his lip bled last night. "Four, what happened?" He shakes his head, and I look up at him, and he pecks my cheek. "Prior!" I hear and scoff. Tobias laughs, at my response. "What, Hayes?" I shout back, looking at Tobias' chest. He grabs my waist, and Tobias growls. I look up at him, pleadingly. "Wanna talk about the kiss this morning?" I am taken aback by the way he phrases it. "You kissed my neck. Without consent. Last time I checked, that sexual harassment." I keep my eyes on Tobias'. His are cold and lack emotion. Not the eyes I'm falling for. "I know you liked it, Prior. Don't lie," I roll my eyes, and Tobias looks down at me. "I didn't. I have him, my soulmate. And I... really like him. Not you. Leave." I kiss Tobias' cheek, and he stands stiffly. He leaves. "Sorry... my wolf..." I kiss him, and he kisses me back. I smile after we pull away, and he opens the car door for me. "I'd like to take you out to date, Beatrice Prior." I raise my eyebrows at him, and he smirks, stifling a laugh. He continues to drive, and I stare out the window. "How do I know you're not an axe murderer planning to murder me?" He fights a snicker and smiles at me. His eyebrows raised, and his deep blue eyes switch between me and the road. "If I was, don't you think you'd be dead?" My turn to laugh. He drops me off, and I rush upstairs to change into a pair of blue jeans, and a navy blue tank top from Decjuba. It has "CHICAGO" written on it in bold white letters. I grab a black jacket and go back downstairs. I tell Dad where I am going, and he tells me to be home by Seven. I nod, and Tobias drives back. He looks handsome in a tight black tee, and black jeans. "Happy birthday," I smile and climb into the car. I kiss his cheek, and he smiles. "I have a special plan for tonight, Miss Prior," I give a light giggle. I never giggle, what's wrong with me?! He smiles more, and he takes us to this field. Meadow would be a better word for it. There are daisies popping up in the long green grass. There is a blanket amongst the grass, and Tobias looks at me. "It's beautiful," I say. The grass goes up to my waist when I try to walk in it, and I feel like a kid again.

Peace is restrained. This is free.

Around the blanket is a small web of fairy lights, and Tobias smiles. "This is perfect, Tobias." His face lights up, and I kiss him. We sit on the blanket, and I curl up into his chest. I purr, and he looks down at me. "Did you just purr, Tris?" I shake my head. "N-No! I just... growled," I flush, and he laughs. That was a lame excuse, I think. I look up at him, and he has a massive grin on his face. "Cats purr, Tris. Cats." He laughs, and I elbow his stomach lightly. He lightly groans, and we laugh in unison.
