Chapter 2

"Hello, Mr. Yuy. It's good to see you again…" Relena said with a sweet smile. Heero knew he had heard her voice before, even her face was familiar. Her smile sparked in his heart. He didn't know how to respond. He didn't know what to say. "I.. I.. I'm okay…" Heero stammered. Relena gave a light chuckle and simply smiled with his answer. Heero couldn't look away, he was pulled into a trance with her beauty. He just made a fool of himself with his answer. When did he become soft? Richard noticed his son's action he too wanted to laugh. He cleared his throat and said. "Ahem. Thank you Relena for getting help, I panicked when the pain began." "Of course, Mr. Yuy you're very welcome." Relena replied. "Are you okay now?" asked Logan as he hopped off the chair. He waited for all the adults in the room to stop talking. "Are you okay now?" Logan repeated himself as he nestled himself between Relena and Helena. "Ah, there you are. I was looking for you." Richard said patting Logan on the head.

Heero moved his eyes to the little boy that spoke with his father. 'Just who is this little boy?' he thought to himself. It's as if he was looking at himself in his younger years. "I think it's time we head home, Logan." Relena said putting a hand in his shoulder. "Can I stay with him, Mom. Please." Logan replied with pleading eyes. "Relena?" Heero called out to the pair causing them to both look his way. "Maybe I can take you both home when you're both ready? I have something I want to ask you." Heero said. Relena wanted scream and run away. She clearly wasn't ready to be questioned. Her heart fluttered upon hearing her name upon his lips. "Sir, you can take my mom. I want to stay." Logan said as he stared at Heero's eyes, a reflection of his own.

Relena didn't know how to explain the current situation. She stared at her son for which felt like an eternity. Then slowly she gathered her thoughts with parts of her screaming. "Okay Logan I will be back soon to pick you up. I will head our for a bit and take care of a few things. I'll be back. Relena said hoping that it would ease her son's mind. "Mr. Yuy I will be taking my leave now and I will be back." Relena said to Richard with a curt bow. "Mrs. Yuy, please watch him for me while I submit resume." She continued. The word resume caught his attention and Heero couldn't overcome the question of asking. "Where will you be applying? Maybe I can help. I'll take you." He asked.

Richard couldn't help but smirk. His son was actually taking the initiative. " Why don't you go back to our company. I'm in need of a VP in finance. You have one heck of a reference." Richard said with wink towards Relena. "I..I… I can't. That's too generous." Relena began to stutter and at the back of her mind that would be the perfect job for her. "Take this offer Relena." Helena said from where should stood as Logan approached to stand by her. Relena couldn't turn it down as much as she wanted to. She slightly gave a bow and took her leave without a word to Heero.

Just before Heero was able to leave Richard called out his name. "Heero, don't lose this one. She will be a great addition to the company. She knows the basics. Make sure she has office on the same floor as you and I." Richard as he turned to his wife. Heero left without saying a word and went to find Relena. He walked as fast as his could to reach her. He found her waiting for an elevator and approached her slowly from behind. "Relena?" it took some time before she replied. "Yes, …" the elevator doors opened and they both entered waiting their descent. "Will you come back and work for Wing Corporation?" "I'm not too sure Mr. Yuy." "Please call me Heero." "Not if I worked for you" Relena said as she exited the elevator. She gave him a smile and took his hand follow her out. Heero felt his heart jump when Relena took her hand in his. He couldn't help but give her an assuring smile.

They make it out of the hospital hand in hand. Relena didn't know what came over her, she just felt it would ease her nerves to focus on something else. Two black cars parked at the entrance came into view with four men in black suits facing their direction. Receiving nods their way as acknowledgment Heero opened the car door for Relena to enter with him right after. They sat in comfortable silence on the way to Wing Corporation. Heero was still thinking of the moment Relena took hold of his hand. No one would dare come that close to him. No one, but the woman from before. He wanted to ask Relena if they ever met outside from work. He shared such a familiar connection with Relena. Was it just the way she captivated his heart? So many emotions and thoughts running through his mind. He didn't realize that they had arrived at the company garage.

Relena felt nervous all of a sudden. The door opened directing her to make her exit. Heero made his way to her side and they both made their way up the elevator. "Mr. Yuy, who will interview me for the position?" Relena asked. "No one. There's no need." Heero said as he stepped off the elevator and headed to his office. "Welcome back Mr. Yuy." Sylvia said giving her best flirtatious smile. She was caught off guard when a woman followed not too far from him. She too had exited the elevator. No one but the CEO or the president are allowed to use that elevator. Heero stopped dead in his tracks causing Relena too bump into him. "Huh? Are you okay?" Relena asked. Heero grabbed her hand and pulled her along with him back to the reception area. "Sylvia. This is Relena. Give her access to any company profiles and should she require anything don't ask questions. Just do it."

Sylvia gave a curt nod to acknowledge her boss. She couldn't believe someone had actually beat her. "Hi, Ms. Sylvia. Nice to meet you. I'll be seeing you every morning." "What is your position here Relena?" Heero heard the icy tone of his receptionist. "She is the Vice President of Finance now. Treat her with respect." Heero said. Relena can feel the tension and pulled Heero's forearm. "It seems it's more than that." Sylvia said. "She is important to me. If you have a problem, you can leave your job now and I will hire someone with less stupidity." Heero said and turned around. "Nice meeting you." Relena said and made her way into Heero's office. Upon entering she saw how big and empty it was. 'What was missing?' she thought.

Heero sat down on his office chair and began to work. Relena went to the large glass windows to look at the high and beautiful view. 'I'm back…' she said to herself. Heero took a glance at Relena, he needed to know more about her. "Relena, let me show you to your office." "Oh. Okay." Relena replied breaking her attention away from the vast window. "Do you have any objections to having an office on this floor? You can use my office when you need to." "I was just thinking of how spacious your office was…" Relena said and followed right after Heero. She was surprised when he opened the office door of the one across from his. "This is too much Mr. Yuy. I'm treated so well if I'm on the same floor as you and your father." "I think you are more than deserving to be on this floor. There are files on your desk and you can set up your personal settings on your computer now. Let me take care of a few things and we'll go pick up Logan." Heero said as he closed the door.

Relena sat on her leather high back office chair and gave a big exhale. Almost immediately she began working without thinking of the time. Three hours later, Heero knocked on Relena's door but no answer came. He just entered and closed the door with the idea of Relena not noticing his arrival. He sat on one of the two chairs in front of her desk with her big flat monitor blocking his view. She still hadn't acknowledge his presence. Heero stared at her working form, she had gone from her hair down to a high bun and wore thin light blue glasses. The phone rang and Relena stopped her work. "Who could be calling me" she said to her self. She answered the phone on the third ring "Finance Relena Darlin speaking" Heero didn't even know her last name. As she ended her call and stood to turn and stretch. Heero stood up and approached her from behind. "Are you going to ignore me forever?" Heero said. Relena was caught off guard and gave a slight grasp. She lost her balance a little and Heero took her hand to calm her. "Sorry. I did knock." He said letting her go. "Let's go. We'll be back on Monday. Let's get Logan before my mom decides to keep him." He made his way out and Relena followed right after. It was another quite ride to the hospital. "Relena, may I ask who Logan's father is?" Relena blinked a few times and a few tears escaped from her eyes. Heero's brows furrowed and he took his handkerchief and wiped the tears that had made their way down her face. "I'm sorry I won't ask again." Heero turned to look out the window and he began surmising what could be so sensitive with that question.

As the car reached a stop in front of the hospital, neither one moved. Silence filled the car. "I'm sorry Mr. Yuy." Relena said and Heero gave a brief nod without saying anything further. They reached the hall that led to Heero's father's ward. Still in silence they entered the room together. The view was a sight with Helena holding Logan in her arms while holding her husband's hand. They were asleep. Relena walked slowly to give a slight tap on Helena's shoulder. Logan woke up first and he smiled at the sight of his mother. He raised his arms up for his mother to take. Helena woke up and searched for Logan. "Oh. How was everything?" she asked. "All is well Mrs. Yuy." Relena replied and Heero gave a nod.

It was getting late and Relena thought it best to head home. "Thank you for watching him for me. Also, when Mr. Yuy wakes up please give him my gratitude with the new job." "Yes, of course dear." Helena replied and gave Logan's hand a squeeze. "Will I be seeing you soon?" she asked Logan. "Yes!" the little boy replied with excitement. "Heero please take them home." His mother requested. "Yes mother." It was a strange sight to see for the men who have been ushering and protecting Heero. Relena, Heero and Logan exited the hospital together. Upon giving the address of their residence to the driver, Relena took a glance at Heero and made her way to look at her son. She began to feel uncomfortable and uneasy. 'I want to know more about the both of you' Heero said in thoughts. One idea came to mind, he patted Logan on the head. "Thank you for watching over my dad." He said and pulled his hand away.

Reaching the villa gate Relena felt much better to be home. As they reached the drive way and the car came to stop Relena looked at Heero with weary eyes. "Thank you for everything Mr. Yuy." Relena said as she and Logan exited the car. "Maybe when we are not at the company you can call me Heero freely." He said. Relena nodded and headed up towards the door. She stopped and turned around, he was still outside waiting for them to go inside the house. Logan took the keys and entered on his own. "Good night Heero…" Relena said with a wave and went inside. 'She said my name.' he said to himself. Looking at his left hand he stared at the single strand of hair he retrieved from Logan.

'He looks too much like me. He's such a strong kid. I have to know. If she isn't the woman from that night, I'd still pursue her.'
