"What's this about an exchange box?" Six asked as he walked alongside one of Nazarick's most beautiful women. As usual, the impeccable angel next to him kept her scaringly convincing smile as she made to answer his question.
"One of Nazarick's tools. To put it simply - it accepts any item or object and in return gives the value of said object." She continued. "Ainz-sama, suggested we use the confiscated items from those metal weaklings as a sacrifice since they serve no use."
Six frowned underneath his helmet. No use? That technology is insanely advanced from what this world had. How could she say that? Albedo had to have known better…
"What do you mean they have no use?" Six pretended to aim with a non-existent rifle. "That stuff turns people into ash. Or green goop if you use plasma - it could honestly hurt you."
"I should clarify this: We are simply unable to equip the items available to us." She paused. "Like a knight who attempts to wear the robes of a mage and vice versa. It is impossible without the proper class."
He furrowed his brows at the new bit of information. Being seriously limited to what weapons and armor they could use was something he hadn't expected. Was that another strange rule about them? This whole tomb of Momonga's - Ainz's - had stipulations that he honestly couldn't wrap his head around.
"I honestly couldn't imagine it." Six began. "I'd go crazy if a set of armor or a strong weapon I found couldn't be worn." He used his Pip-Boy to summon his Ranger Sequoia and Katana. He made a show of doing gun tricks. "Versatility is the name of the game for me - it's what you need if want to always be prepared for whatever happens."
A small speck of jealousy appeared on Albedo. "You are quite fortunate. It is yet another abnormal trait about you."
Six lowered his voice and mumbled somewhat childishly. "You're abnormal…"
"What was that?" She asked hotly.
"I said you look good today?" He tried with the most innocent tone he could muster.
The Succubus elected to ignore him and continue on with the original topic. "Back to the matter at hand, Ainz-sama ordered you and I to begin experimenting with items not originally from YGGDRASIL."
Six hummed before crossing his arms and putting a finger on his chin. A habit he had accumulated over the years. "He probably thinks there might be some requirement only I can fulfill. Like, the Exchange Box needs an individual who is compatible with the items or something."
Albedo would've acted surprised at how accurate Six's words had been to Ainz's if he hadn't already done so many times before. She tried ignoring it at first but a lot of comparisons between her master and him could be drawn. One of the two most notable to her being their shared intelligence and kindness to those around them. It irked her that she wasn't able to understand her Lord's true intentions without it being painfully laid out for her.
But when it came to Six, he came back from his tasks much more successful than anyone would have expected. She would be a fool to not consider him a threat. Though she never saw Six in action, she remembered Lupusregina's report on his diplomacy with the Mummy Lord whose tomb they had entered and subsequently went out of his way to fix.
That's how she saw it anyway.
"Actually, now that you have me, I wanted to talk to you about a discovery I want to report to Ainz - something big."
This got her full attention and focused on Six, her eyes clearly indicating for him to continue. And so he did. Six quickly went over what he had discussed with Shalltear as well. About the stats and their dramatic increase and to their permanence on the person so long as they wore it. He went over what exactly he could do and the idea of asking Ainz to let him go beyond Nazarick with Vivian by his side to try and get her to increase her level by one or two. By the end, Albedo couldn't help but agree with most of what he was saying. But there was one issue sticking out to her.
"As far as I'm aware, your armor is finite Six. Where will we find enough for the thousands of soldiers at our disposal?"
"Well, yeah, but I can just make some y'know? Sure, it'll take awhile but all I need is the materials necessary and 'boom' it's there."
"I see…" Albedo didn't seem convinced.
Six waved the concerns off. "We'll cross that bridge when we come to it."
Albedo said nothing more and continued on until she reached her destination. Six hadn't missed the fact that she had taken him to the Seventh Floor. It was kind of hard to ignore the insane increase in heat. He noticed one of the Evil Lords (Wrath if he remembered correctly) had been stationed near the Gate allowing entry.
"Looking good, Wrath!" He waved towards Demiurge's subordinate in greeting.
Unsure of how to respond, the winged demon hesitantly raised his hand and mimicked the action. Six nodded towards him once and continued. Albedo herself didn't bother looking his way and walked in comfortable silence throughout the hellish landscape as the demon POP monsters here went about their business. It took them less than a minute to reach Demiurge's humble abode - the Blazing Temple. Following their duty, the other Evil Lords stood by the entrance or hovered above the missing/collapsed ceiling. They all turned to look at the newcomers. Upon recognizing them, anyone Evil Lord flying in the air quickly descended and joined the others in taking a knee in front of their superiors.
Albedo paid the action no heed since she considered it natural but Six could only groan in annoyance. Had he been alone he would've told them to stop. However, since Albedo was here she would've given him shit for it so he decided on letting it be.
"Shalltear is inside with Demiurge, correct?" Albedo asked none of the Evil Lords in particular.
"Yes," Greed spoke, his head tilted back to look at his master's equals. "They have been speaking for quite some time."
"I see." Albedo said with a smile as she began going inside.
"Go on ahead, Albedo." He gestured to the Evil Lords. "I wanna talk to these guys."
The lords stiffened the moment these words left him. Albedo grew somewhat curious but simply nodded and said: "As you wish."
Six watched her disappear within the temple before focusing back on the kneeling subordinates. Before getting into the meat of things…
"C'mon, off your knees." His tone came out as if he were scolding a child. "I thought I made it clear I don't like it when people do that."
"Would it not be disrespectful?" Greed talked for his comrades again.
"I'd argue it's disrespectful to me because I outright hate it - I'm being honest."
The demons looked at one another before rising back up onto their own feet. Six smiled underneath his helmet as he nodded in approval. "Anyway…" He reached for his masked helmet and took it off in front of them.
To the Evil Lords, this was the first time they had actually seen Nazarick's first ally remove his headgear. They could only guess as to what exactly lay underneath but certainly held no expectations save for the fact that they knew he was human. What stood before them now was a young man with strange scars near the top of his head. The largest of them was also the most precise. The others appeared to be from what they could only assume to be from battle. His good-natured eyes eased some of their nervousness.
"I wanted to do this with all the other Evil Lords but only you guys are here right now." Six let out a sigh. "I want to apologize."
The lords were taken aback. What on Nazarick was his fault? Was this some sort of test or the like?
Six continued. "You guys must've had a hell of time trying to defend this place from the intruders." A moment. "Truth is, I knew what those creatures were. I didn't think they would be so far out here as well. If I had any sort of sense in me, I would have told Ainz - shit anyone really about all the bastards I've fought in my life." He hung his head a little bit. "If you had known their weaknesses beforehand, I know things would've gone a lot better." He emulated a bow. "So, again, I'm really sorry."
The Evil Lords were completely shocked. They had no words for what had just been said to them. He truly blamed himself alone for the damage Nazarick took during the invasion. They knew he alone could not have ever anticipated a new breed of monster to suddenly come barging in undetected by their defenses. If anything, they felt as if they were useless since the majority of the intruders' forces had shown up on the Second Floor where Six himself had fought.
"T-that isn't necessary, Six-sama." Envy tried for her comrades. The human's eyes looked apologetically but kindly to her own. It caused her to suddenly begin building a foreign but ultimately positive feeling in her stomach.
"Maybe you don't think so. But I know it's true." He regarded them all. "I'll make it up to you - to everyone. No one's going to push us like that again." He said seriously before raising his helmet and equipping it once again.
The Evil Lords could do nothing but accept his words. There was a momentary silence before an annoyed voice broke it.
"Hah? He's joining us?"
From the same way Albedo had entered, a petite woman with silver locks of hair and bright red eyes looked at the human in front of her.
"It's nice to see you too, Salt-tear." Six said with mirth.
"What was that?" She said dangerously as her killer aura leaked out from her. Unlike the lords next to him, Six didn't feel intimidated one bit.
"I would prefer it if you didn't start a fight near my home." Demiurge spoke as he walked right behind her with Albedo next to him.
"Heya, Demiurge." Six gave a quick wave.
"Greetings, Six." He answered politely.
"How are the defenses?" Six said, ignoring the death glare he was getting from the True Vampire.
Demiurge's smile faltered somewhat, the thought of their failure to protect Nazarick still weighing on him a little. "Significantly improved. In short, we've expanded on the tunnels and set drones as both combat and alarm units. The strongest of the Tunnelers turned out to be excellent corpses for higher tier summoning."
He nodded. "Well, if you ever need anything just let me know."
The Arch-Devil paused for just a second. "Truly anything?" A hint of maliciousness in his tone. If Six noticed, he didn't show it.
"Yeah, anything." He stated resolutely.
"Then I'll keep it in mind." Demiurge turned to Albedo. "Is there anything else Albedo?"
The succubus kept her smile. "Not at all. Thank you."
"Of course. I wish I could see Pandora's Actor for myself, not to mention the Treasury."
Six recognized that name. "You talking about Ainz's kid?" He had heard from the big man himself he had created an individual for Nazarick as well just like the previous members had. He didn't get into specifics, only giving him a name. He wondered if they were situated on the floor most weren't allowed to go in - the Eighth Floor.
"The very same. I can be patient however and wait until a meeting occurs naturally."
"Alright," Six regarded Albedo. "Are we going then?"
She nodded but wanted to make sure of something. "You have stated to be immune to poison, yes?"
Six looked at her for a second. "Yeah, but what's that got to do with anything - oh, the Treasury has poison up the ass doesn't it?"
Albedo frowned. "Not the way I would have put it, but yes." She made a note in her head to find a solution towards the Courier's crass manner of speaking. Not that he did it often, but it she felt it necessary.
"I still find it fascinating you are able to live without a heart Six." Demiurge began. "Should we both find ourselves with free time-"
"You wanna do experiments." He didn't state it as a question. "Sure. Wouldn't be the first time - ah, nothing too extreme is my condition."
"Naturally." His smile grew somewhat. "Perhaps you should all get going?"
"Right." Albedo looked back and forth between Shalltear and Six. "Grab my shoulders."
The moment those words left her mouth, the Vampire and Mailman did as they were told. Once Albedo felt their hands on her, she activated the Ring. A flash of light blue enveloped them and they disappeared.
There was a moment before Demiurge turned to look at an Evil Lord in particular. "Envy."
The crow-headed woman quickly stood at attention and faced her master. "How does the idea of having children with Six sound?"
Her beak opened in complete surprise. "C-Children?!" She squawked, her hands going towards her belly subconsciously.
Demiurge smiled satisfactorily at her reaction. His nature as a devil enjoyed watching his subordinate squirm. "Yes, I had begun setting up plans to do breeding experiments on one of my many farms - between humans and supposedly incompatible races. I have yet to receive approval from Ainz-sama, but should it go through, I think you would be a perfect candidate." A pause. "What do you say."
"Yes! Of course!" Her mood shifting to something more elated.
"Excellent." He began to turn around before stopping. There was still something he had to say. He looked over all the Evil Lords. "I nearly forgot, good work all of you. The Seventh Floor suffered little damage. Keep it up." He then departed back into the temple without another word.
A wave of inspiration washed over them all as their master's words gave them newfound energy. A pleasant humming brought them out of reality before they turned to look at the source.
"Kids… with Six… Six-sama…"
•••
Six's vision normalized as the quick flash of light subsided. As fast as he could, he removed his shoulder from Albedo with Shalltear doing the same a moment later. He stepped away from her and began looking around the area. To put it simply, the room was insanely huge. Even with his amazing vision, Six could just barely make out the walls far beyond him. He looked above himself and noted the sparkling but fake stars in the dark sky. His eyes nearly bulged however when he saw the literal mountain of gold stealing the spotlight. He thought the pile of caps he had back home was excessive but this was way above him on so many levels. He could only think back to the bars of gold he had yet to find a good use for.
"I should really clean my room…" He thought.
He turned to look at the beautiful women next to him and noted the genuine admiration as they too took everything in. Absorbed earlier by his own awe, Six finally took notice of the shifty looking purple cloud hanging around the area. Even with his immunity, he could feel the dangerous cloud entering his system. In truth, it reminded him of the Sierra Madre and their corrosive clouds of bullshit. That place was an utter nightmare and it didn't help that he had gone inside before he had even met Caesar. Basically, horribly unprepared and foolish for getting caught like that in the first place. He imagined the beeping of his non-existent collars whenever he got near anything with radio frequencies. Moving his hand to then back of his neck, he rubbed at it in memory. He wondered how Christine was doing…
"Let's go." Albedo suddenly said. "Shalltear, cast {Mass Fly}."
"Why do I have to carry him?" She glared at the succubus. "Shouldn't the Overseer oversee her allies?"
"You are more Magic based than I." Albedo locked her own stubborn eyes with her as well. "Not to mention you could stand to improve your relationship with Six more."
"Are you an idiot? We get along just fine."
"Evidence to the contrary."
"Contrary to what?! Shut that gorilla mouth of yours before you say something stupid!"
A dangerous glint appeared in Albedo's eyes. "You're one to talk about mouths with that gaping maw of yours, you lamprey."
Realizing they were starting to have a verbal brawl, Six decided that simply walking away from them would be the best decision. Hearing their voices slowly fade behind him, he casually walked up the mountain of gold and decided that now would be a good time to test something he hadn't able to yet. Ever since the fight with the Alpha Tunneler, he realized he was capable of performing feats he considered ridiculous. With this super powered body of his, just how high could he jump exactly? He took position a few feet away from the ludicrous amounts of money and prepared to jump. With as much power he could force into his legs, he exploded away from the ground and into the night sky. He blinked once, the world around him slowing down as he took it all in.
Freedom. That was the word going through his head right now. He looked down below at all the shining objects - smiling as he did so. He felt as if nothing could truly touch him. He reached the apex of his jump before he finally felt the power of gravity begin to take hold once again. Noticing the black pit shaped like a door on the other side of the mountain he angled himself before summoning a displaced glove - Pushy - and activating its special ability to give himself a little boost. It took him a few seconds before he crashed into the ground and broke into a few and somewhat controllable rolls to mitigate the strain he believed he would feel.
He stopped on one knee with an arm on the opposite side outstretched. He broke the pose as he stood up and checked himself for anything out of place. He couldn't help but laugh once at the new giddiness coursing through him. It excited him to be able to use it outside once this whole invasion fiasco was taken care of. He put away Pushy and stared at the bottomless gate in front of him. Before he could try anything, he heard two people descend right behind him. He turned his head just in time to see Shalltear and Albedo land almost at the same time.
"I wasn't aware you could leap such a great distance." Albedo spoke.
"Uh-Huh." Six carelessly uttered in a dismissive gesture.
Shalltear put a hand near the bottom of her mouth in amusement upon witnessing the genuinely annoyed look on Albedo's face.
"How do you open this?" He turned back around before half-pointing towards the darkness. "My gut tells me you need something special."
"You are correct." The raven-haired woman began walking forward and passed Six. "Ainz-sama informed me of the words necessary to open it."
Six nodded but said nothing more as he watched Albedo get to work. To guarantee she remembered the words, she easily remembered the single phrase needed to give her a hint. Though, Ainz-sama himself wondered if that was a requirement to be allowed a chance to unlock the entrance to the Mausoleum. He told her to not risk it and to simply follow his instructions to the letter - not that it was much in the first place. She stood before the gate and spoke loud and clearly.
"All glory to Ainz Ooal Gown."
Not a second later, the black gate displayed a string of burning gold words contrasting heavily against it. As soon as Six saw the first word he knew exactly what he was looking at. Latin. To say he had become well-versed would be an understatement. Thanks to the man known as Arcade Gannon, it had become a hobby of his to learn as much as possible. It was a language he could speak quite fluently. Not perfect but he was near the finish line. Without thinking, he read aloud.
"Ascendit a terra in coelum, iterumque descendit in terram, et recipit vim superiorum et inferiorum." He continued. "If I were to translate it…" He furrowed his brow in concentration. "...By these means you'll have the glory of the whole world and therefore all obscurity will fly away from you."
Though Six didn't realize it, the door accepted the tiniest of variations or translations that were accurate in whatever language the person spoke. Speaking in English didn't disqualify his own attempt. And so, in response, the black gate began shrinking - no - collapsing into itself towards the center before a singular point of darkness floated harmlessly. Behind it lay the tunnel that hid the rest of the Treasury's secrets.
"Well, how about that." He started walking towards the new area. "It worked."
Albedo couldn't help but stare at him incredulously. How could he have possibly known? No, he couldn't have - it was because he somehow knew about this Latin language that the Supreme Beings apparently used as well. Was it a standard for all their masters in Nazarick? Was this nothing but a simple game of guessing for him? Could he have easily accessed this area without even needing them?
Shalltear herself didn't seem too bothered with the fact that he had so easily gotten access inside but didn't think it over as much as Albedo did. She chalked it up to simple luck and knowledge. She walked in just behind Six without turning back to look at her.
The succubus shook herself out of her stupor and adopted a more serious face on herself. How many more times was she going to underestimate Six? Remembering why she was here, she walked onwards at a more brisk pace as to catch up to them.
The Courier himself had slowed down upon noticing just how much more organized this area was. Unlike the items scattered within the mountain of gold, there were weapons, armor, accessories and the like neatly placed on the walls. Even though the long tunnel was barely illuminated, he could make out the intricate details on every item. However, his expectations were shattered when he came across some of the most disturbing weapons he had ever seen.
A lance made out of flesh and bone with differing pigments. An ebony mace trapping the tortured faces of souls, a putrid and writhing green tentacle wrapped around a sword that he swore was in pain. And then there was a shield holding the steel-like skull of a demon with burning eyes which locked eyes with him as if it were alive - maybe it actually was. He had stopped every time in front of these items to truly capture their appearance with Shalltear doing a little of the same. It gave Albedo enough time to catch up with the two while she too spared glances at the unique objects.
"And I thought my weapons were something…" Six muttered to himself as he looked at the armory he could never hope to replicate. Ainz was definitely balling in Nazarick. He looked beyond the museum inspired hall and realized they had a long way to go. Thousands of weapons and over a hundred meters later, they came upon a rectangle-shaped room.
The Courier couldn't help but question this next area. To him, it looked like a place somebody would receive guests like for a doctor's appointment or something. A very important doctor that is. He noted the table and sofa in the empty room and decided that sitting down for a bit would do him some good. He didn't fail to see the other passages in front and then to the left and right of him. Walking without a care, he ignored the awed women behind him and plopped himself down on the surprisingly comfortable sofa. By habit, he nearly raised his feet on the table but stopped himself when realizing how disrespectful it would be. A slouched position would have to do.
He let out a sigh and hung his head back while closing his eyes. This was a lot to go through just so they could use a shredder to chew up some of his items.
"Ainz-sama?!"
He lay there for a few seconds before Shalltear's voice made him raise his head back up. To his right towards the hall resembling the tomb theme on the first few floors stood the big boned man himself. But something was off about him. The being in front of them looked like Ainz's twin but there was a distinct lack of… something he couldn't quite place his finger on. Maybe the feeling an aura gave off? It felt like a stranger he had yet to properly get acquainted with. Either way, this guy did a hell of an impression. He'd be great at parties.
"No, that's impossible." Albedo gained an edge to her voice. "Who are you?! I would never mistake the man I love with anyone else!"
The fake Ainz tilted his head in confusion. Despite the situation, Six couldn't help but stay relaxed. He felt like they were blowing this out of proportion. This couldn't be anyone else but Pandora's Actor - the name kinda made sense now in regards to the apparent ability to mimic someone's appearance.
When the newcomer refused to speak, Albedo decided that she finally had enough and became hostile. "Fine then. Let's kill it."
"Whaaaat?! Crazy lady! Is violence always the answer with you?!" Six almost shouted out loud. It was here that he decided it was time to intervene.
"So you're Pandora's Actor, huh?" He spoke loudly but calmly from his comfy seat.
The imitator turned to look at Six before it suddenly began distorting in place. In just a second, the fake Ainz had disappeared and in place stood the true form of the stranger. A flat face with three pitch black holes servings as the eyes and mouth respectively. Behind the helmet, Six wondered about the long nailless fingers that made his hand.
As for the rest of his appearance, the being in front of him wore a uniform Six had seen used by some people before. It was militaristic for sure, but he swore it was from somewhere in particular… Regardless, he looked like a General to him. He watched the guy click his heels together and salute.
"Indeed! You have discerned my true identity! Well done!"
The Courier smiled underneath his helmet as he too saluted back albeit with less energy than Ainz's creation. This person definitely seemed lively and friendly. A breath of fresh air in all honesty. The Heteromorph turned back to Albedo and Shalltear.
"Welcome, Courier, Overseer and First to Third Floor Guardian! I have been made aware of the purpose to your arrival. Please wait a moment while I retrieve it at once!"
Without getting a chance to respond, the egghead sped off into a power walk deep into one of the tunnels. Nobody said anything for a moment.
"He's fun." Six said before getting comfortable again. "You guys should sit down too. I've got a feeling experimenting is going to take a while."
The two women gave him a look he couldn't quite place but was genuinely surprised when Shalltear began walking up to the same sofa. Respecting distance - and fearing for himself a little - Six shifted to the other end of the couch before slouching again.
"He is stranger than I imagined." Shalltear agreed. "But I also can't help but feel jealous."
Six hummed. "Because Ainz made him." His words only earned a nod from Shalltear before her face turned a bit more inquisitive.
"How is my gift coming along? Has it been to your satisfaction?"
"She is doing just fine. I just wish she wasn't so quiet and irritatingly obedient." He grunted. "Even if I tell her to relax she won't. It's like she doesn't know what it means or how to do it at all."
"I can get you a new one if you like." She offered.
"Nah," He waved his hand in dismissal "I'm sure she'll warm up to me and ED-E in no time."
Six straightened a bit in his chair. He might as well do it now since they were both here. "Also, uh, Shalltear, Albedo…"
The two beauties turned to look at him. Six's body language began morphing into something more reserved and timid. "I just wanna say that I'm sorry."
They looked at him like he just grew a second head. "Especially to you Shalltear." He began playing with his hands. "I should've told Ainz about the creatures I fought - I mean I'm not trying to defend myself but I thought Ainz knew about them too and prepared accordingly..." He trailed off but continued. "Anyway, I made you look bad, like you couldn't do your job as a guardian - which obviously isn't true!" He coughed a little. "A-Anyway what I'm trying to say is that I want to make it up to you. So if you ever need anything or a favor…"
Shalltear gave him a look he couldn't quite figure out. "You're being more of an idiot than usual." She said a bit condescendingly.
"...What?"
Albedo decided to include herself. "No one in Nazarick could have possibly predicted an attack such as that, Six."
"Besides," Shalltear started. "They barely did anything. They were small fry - all of them. Demiurge said their little skirmish only served to strengthen Nazarick."
"Yeah, but they still got inside…" He tried arguing.
"While it is somewhat shameful to admit they managed to infiltrate, they were swiftly taken care of." Albedo paused. "In truth, I'm upset it was you who landed the finishing blow on that Alpha of theirs." A vengeful look overcame her. "To damage Ainz-sama…!" She clutched her hands hard enough to make Six think she was about to draw blood before suddenly stopping and reigning in her emotions. "Do not blame yourself."
"But if you're still feeling guilty…" A sly smile appeared on her face. "I've got a few things in mind you could help with."
He let out a weak laugh and asked jokingly. "Taking advantage?"
Before she could say
"I have returned!" The sound of boots slamming against the ground came from the tunnel in front of the couch. "And with the Exchange Box!" He presented the item by holding it with both his hands towards the air in front of him. He held the pose indefinitely and said nothing more.
There was an awkward silence before Six decided to break it. "Thanks. Could you please set it down on the table?"
The Doppelganger broke his statue-like position. "Of course!" And proceeded to do as asked. The group of four crowded around the object before watching as Six began fiddling with his Pip-Boy to bring out the weapons and armor he had stored within. Before deciding to drop the items, he turned his back and to the empty floor and let them all fall at once. He made sure to catch the laser and plasma guns first lest they accidentally go off and hit somebody. The Power Armor sets themselves clattered on the ground loudly. Six ignored that and presented the first weapon to Pandora's Actor.
"Let's try this first."
The egghead curiously accepted the item and looked it over. "...I've never seen a weapon like this before."
"It's a standard issue laser rifle. Nothing special about it." He regarded the box. "So you just put it inside the chest, right?"
"Yes!" Pandora's Actor spoke. "Observe the process before your own eyes!"
Six watched him open the lid and then shove the item down vertically into the pitch black space within. He then shut the box and looked up from it and looked at the three guests. "And now we wait." He drummed his fingers against the wood for three seconds before the object suddenly lurched forwards and up violently. Everyone save for Pandora's Actor had leaned back in reaction to the sudden jump. "It is ready!" He looked towards the Courier. "It is your item, you must do the honors."
"Sure." Was all he said before raising his arm and placing his hand on the lid and proceeded to open it. The moment he moved it by the tiniest of centimeters, a large and vicious spray of gold coins suddenly erupted and shot out towards Six. The force alone was enough to knock him off his feet and bury him in a mound of coins with only his hand sticking out.
"Mein Gott!" Pandora's Actor said as he went to help the Courier. Shalltear's tinkling bells of laughter echoed while Albedo could only raise her brows and restrained surprise.
Six shot out from the expensive grave like a newly risen zombie. He accepted a hand from the Doppelgänger and lifted himself off the ground. "Thanks."
"That's never happened before, I assure you!"
"Well, it definitely happened to me." He dusted himself off and looked at the True Vampire laughing at his expense.
"Enjoying yourself?" The smile in his tone was evident.
"Quite." She simply said.
Six looked down at the gold and stepped away from it as best he could.
"Those items must be quite valuable." Albedo noted.
Six nodded. "Yeah, people would literally kill for them." He looked at the rest of the weapons on the floor now. "But they aren't the best." His eyes landed on Pandora's Actor's. "Going off-topic for a bit, do you speak German?"
"Natürlich!"
(Of course!)
"Wie ist mein Deutsch? Ist das akzeptabel?"
(How is my German? Is this acceptable?)
"Es ist ziemlich gut, aber sie haben einen leichten akzent."
(It's pretty good, but you have a slight accent.)
Six looked at the box. "Well, we should get back to work." And then grabbed one of the rifles from off the ground. "You guys don't mind music do you?"
"As long as it isn't annoying." Shalltear said.
"I do not mind, Six." Albedo added.
"It sounds like a wonderful idea!" Pandora's Actor was all for it. "But how would you go about it?"
"It's that bulky thing on his arm." Shalltear began. "It does a bunch of things I'm not going to bother to list, but one ability in particular let's him play pre-arranged music."
"Do you have any in German?" He asked somewhat desperately.
Six laughed a little. "Yeah, I do in fact - a marching song." He pressed play.
The beginning of Westerwarld Marsch started from the Pip-Boy at a comfortable volume. It was here that Six began his work while Albedo and Shalltear began hauling the excess gold away towards area's specified by Pandora's Actor who had gotten the hang of the lyrics when they repeated again. He even sang along with great joy as the marching song continued on for Six wonderful minutes. Wonderful for him at least. Six couldn't help but smile as they both enjoyed the music.
Today wasn't so bad afterall.
