The title of this fanfic is pretty self-explanatory, and I might as well say a few things that you may be wondering.

Q: Will Izuku be a major character in the story?

A: No. Because Izuku never receives One for All, he never gets into UA. Due to that event, Izuku and Ochaco never meet, so he can't be a major part of the story.

Q: Will Ochaco still possess her gravity quirk?

A: Yes.

Q: Will Ochaco's past and family be different?

A: Not until the story/plot progresses. Even then, this story won't focus on her parents.

Q: How often will uploads be?

A: To be honest, expect fast(er) uploads at the start, but after time I will upload with longer gaps. I also have other things in my life besides fanfic, so sometimes I won't write at all for a certain amount of time. My other MHA story (The oneshot collection) needs to get an update, but my primary focus for uploading is on this one!

Ochaco was taking a walk downtown, trying to snag some cheap food. There was 10 months until the UA entrance exam-which she planned to enter-and she needed to save as much money as possible.

She walked out of a nearby store, looking around the street to catch her bearings. Taking a deep breath of air, she started walking toward a nearby crowd.

"It must be some sort of event or something." She said to herself. She had started to explore this part of the city a few days ago, so everything was new.

Of course, she walked everywhere due to money problems that her family had. Ochaco, being the person that she was, helped her parents with everything she could.

Once she reached the crowd, Ochaco was shocked. It was All Might, the No.1 hero!

"All Might!" She cried in happiness. Of course, her voice was lost in the tidal wave that consisted of everybody else's questions and statements.

The tall, muscular hero soon turned his head toward the sky, his knees bending.

"I have some hero-work to attend to! Until next time!" he yelled, leaving a trail of wind in his wake.

Ochaco followed his flight path, but then noticed something. All Might said 'I have some hero-work to attend to' and soon after jumped in the direction of her home. There was a very low chance that her parents were in trouble, but Ochaco was not willing to take that chance.

She bolted off, dodging between cars, people, and trash cans.

Pressing the tips of her fingers together, she activated her quirk. Kicking off from the ground, Ochaco was soon levitating in the air, the kinetic energy from kicking away the ground propelling her towards home.

After intense nausea and dizziness plagued her body for a few minutes, she slowly dropped to the ground. Wasting no time at all, she resumed sprinting.

She soon arrived near her home, passing under a short tunnel when she was about five minutes away. Pulling out her flip phone, she called her mother.

"Is everything doing ok?" She asked. "It's just that I saw All Might say something about trouble and run off in your direction.

"Everything here is fine honey." Ochaco's mother said. "Also, your father got a client so he will be home late today."

"Got it. Well, thanks for letting me know." Ochaco closed her phone and put it in her pocket, taking stock of her surroundings. There was a singular manhole cover with a singular yen on it. It's not much, Ochaco reasoned, But every yen helps.

Kneeling down on one knee, Ochaco took the coin and admired its quality. For being left on a manhole cover in a downtown part of a city it was in good quality. Ochaco put the coin in her pocket and got up.

Suddenly the manhole cover was blown off, a strange sludge-like substance crawling out of it.

"A small body, but it will serve my purpose." The strange substance said.

"Not today, villain!" Ochaco yelled, pulling her gloves off. Leaping forward, she swung a large uppercut at the villain. Strangely, her fist passed through empty air, not coming in contact with the target at all.

"Stupid child," the sludge villain sneered. "You can't make a liquid float if the parts aren't bonded with each other."

Ochaco gulped and slowly started to walk backwards, away from the pile of sludge. When she was almost out of the tunnel, she trod on an irregular-shaped rock and fell, twisting her ankle in the process. Crying out in pain, she started to desperately drag herself away.

She would not escape the villain. Bye mother, bye father. Ochaco thought.

Suddenly the same manhole cover was launched off (It fell back in place) and a very tall and muscular man emerged.

"Detroit smash!" He yelled as he punched the villain, the sludge falling all over the floor. He turned toward Ochaco and the dust cleared, letting the girl figure out who it was.

"All Might?" She asked in wonder.

"The one and only!" He said, flexing his biceps. His plain white shirt had multiple sludge stains on it, and he took not of Ochaco's hurt ankle. "Are you doing ok? Your ankle seems to be in pretty bad condition."

Ochaco tried to stand up, only falling back on her butt after he ankle buckled. "I think some help will be needed."

All Might nodded. "No problem, young lady. Let's get you home!" He grabbed her by the waist and jumped, heading upward in the sky. As they were drifting, All Might took notice of her old and torn clothes.

"I assume you are young Ochaco Uraraka then?"

Ochaco nodded, wondering how he knew her name. After they landed, Ochaco pointed toward her house, which was a few miles away.

They took the rest of the journey on a walk, and they began talking to pass the time.

"Say young lady," All Might asked. "I noticed that you have these pads on your fingers. Is that quirk related?"

Ochaco nodded, her brown curls bouncing up and down her face. "I can disable the gravity of anything I touch. I do have a limit though. I throw up if I overextend myself."

"You are very blessed to have such a quirk." The no.1 hero said. Her quirk is strong, and her personality is good to match. He thought. Maybe she is the successor I'm looking for….

He was snapped out of his thoughts by the feeling of movement on his leg. It was the sludge villain (who he had captured in a bottle), moving around in a vain attempt to escape.

Soon they arrived at Ochaco's house, a small, old structure surrounded by scraps of wood and metal. Soon Ochaco's mother walked out, embracing her daughter and bowing her thanks to All Might.

"Thank you so much! I was so worried when you told us that there was trouble!"

"No need to thank me!" All Might announced. "In fact, I would like to speak to both of you. In private."

Soon the three of them were inside, sitting at a small table.

"So what would you like to tell us?" Ochaco asked.

"I have been observing and learning, and I think that your daughter will be a great successor of my quirk."

Ochaco's mother chimed in. "You can't pass down quirks. It's scientifically proven."

"Mine can be passed down." He said, shrinking down to his true form. "You two must never tell ANYBODY else about this. If people learn about it, there will be a war for my power."

Ochaco shuddered with the thought of humanity fighting for a power like that. All Might resumed talking.

"My quirk can store energy and release it, along with it being able to be passed on." He explained. "I have long been searching for the next successor, and I think fate has led me to you."

Ochaco nodded. "So how do I get your quirk? Is it like….blood or something"

"In order for you to get my quirk, you have to digest part of my DNA. In this case, a strand of my hair."

Ochaco's mother butted in. "Won't something that powerful require training?"

All Might cleared his throat. "Yes. There is a certain beach that would be suitable for training. It is filled with trash, and it would do Ochaco and the beach much good. Here is the address." He scribbled a few numbers and letters down on a paper and handed it to Ochaco.

Ochaco chimed in. "Will i get paid by the city if I clean the beach?"

"Ochaco.." Her mother said disapprovingly. "Money isn't the only reason you should do your hero work."

A bit selfish, All Might thought. I guess her reason for that is justified by her lower-class living style.

"There won't be any pay." All Might said. Ochaco looked down, disappointed. "But, it will provide the training necessary to get into UA. That is the best way for you to become a hero, and I went there as well. There is no school I trust as much as UA."

"Ochaco was planning on going there…" Suddenly Ochaco got up, galvanized into action by her mother's words.

"I'll be there by tomorrow." Ochaco nodded and left to her room, leaving the two adults alone at the table.

All Might got up, changing into his buff form. "Well, I have to go now."
