Chapter 6!

I would just like to address some reviews concerning Ochaco's life span. Because this is (Obviously), not canon, I have changed it so One For All does not kill people with their own quirks. Previous users of One For All will not be changed, and I would like to think that One for All 'mutated' so people with their own quirks could use it. The mutation has also changed One For All itself.

If you have any questions, feel free to PM me.

Shoto and Ochaco started to work instantly. Shoto created a large block of ice and Ochaco made it float, bringing them to the top.

"Let's both clear different sides and crush them in the middle." Ochaco said.

Shoto nodded. "Let's do this."

Both of them went to opposite sides of the roof and dashed down, taking the stairs two at a time.

Ochaco decided to use her quirk and hug the ceiling, going stealth. Pushing her fingertips together, she called upon her quirk to float. Nothing happened.

"What's going on?" She asked quietly. "Why can't I use my quirk?"

Shaking it off as some sort of bug, she kept on walking. "Is the problem affecting One for All too?"

Suddenly a voice cracked in her ears. It was Shoto. "One for what?"

Ochaco went pale as she remembered the comm-links in their ears. "It's a slogan my brother had." She lied. She didn't even have a brother, but Shoto didn't know.

"We'll talk about it after." Shoto said. "If something is up with your quirk, just shake it off." There was a pause, then the sound of crackling ice. "I can freeze them and win this match if need be."

"What about Bakugou?"

"I don't think he can fight if I cover him in ice."

"Got it."

Ochaco kept on walking, pale with fear. Why can't my quirks work? She thought. I might as well test One for All…

She gathered energy into her fingers and flicked. Nothing happened.

In the observation room, All Might and the rest of the students were watching all perspectives of the fight.

"Why is Ochaco randomly flicking the air?" Kirishima asked. "Is it part of her quirk or something?"

Momo replied. "I don't think so. Her quirk involves the pads of her fingers, not hand movement."

"What do you think, All Might?" Mina asked.

"I don't think it matters." He said. Then, trying to change the subject, he resumed talking. "Take note of how Bakugou has run off and away from Iida. That is a terrible thing to do."

Bakugou was stalking the halls, wanting to exact his revenge on Ochaco for beating him in the entrance exams.

"That little punk." He said. "First she scolds me at the gate, and now she makes a show of me in class? I was so dang sure I was in first!"

He kicked a loose stone, making a small explosion in his hand. He heard footsteps. "I hear you!" He yelled. Suddenly he was hit to the ground, his feet instantly being encased in ice.

A boy with half white and half red hair walked past him, frowning. "Bad luck." He said.

"You'll regret that!" Bakugou yelled. "Once I break out, you'll be pleading for mercy!"

"Nope." Shoto said. He turned back toward Bakugou, his glare like cold steel. Pulling his arm back, the half and half quirk user knocked his target out with one punch.

Ochaco burst into the main room, where Iida was waiting with the weapon.

"This isn't the washroom…" She said, backing away.

"You must understand, hero scum!" Iida spat, an evil smile lingering beneath his mask. "You'll never win! I am the true picture of villainy!"

Ochaco laughed, then her smile turned grim. "Listen up!" She snapped. "Back away from the weapon, or I'll have no other choice!"

"No, hero!" Iida yelled back.

"You leave me no option then." Ochaco ran forward, using her quirk to float above Iida. Luckily, it worked this time. Sure, it felt strange, like it had more power.

Ochaco let go once she was on top of Iida, knocking him to the ground. She got up, and sprinted toward the weapon. As soon as he hand touched it, All Might's voice rang out from the speakers.

"The heroes win with 4 minutes left!"

Shoto walked into the room and high-fived Ochaco, the ice encasing his one side reflecting the dim lights in the room.

"Good job." he stated.

Ochaco nodded. "Ditto."

Back in the observation room, All Might did a recap of the fight and announced the V.I.P.

"And the V.I.P is…" His voice trailed off. "Shoto Todoroki. Can anybody see how that is?"

Momo raised her hand. "I believe that Shoto showed us the perfect way to work with your teammates while staying independent. He also took on Bakugou without causing any damage to the buildings. Tenya was not paying attention and had his back to the door when Ochaco entered the room. Bakugou left his teammate, making them lose the very advantage the exercise was designed for. And lastly, Ochaco couldn't control her quirk at times. That can be very fatal in a real fight."

"Very well said, Momo." All Might stated. "I would also like to add something to your statement. Some of you may think that Bakugou and Tenya were outmatched, but remember." His voice fell to a whisper. "You don't always have the advantage."

The rest of the battles continued, all fights going well. (In case you are wondering who took Shoto's place, nobody did. Because Minta left and Izuku never went to UA, the class has 18 students instead of 20. Therefore, 2 students just would have done a 1v1 fight.)

After the entire thing was over, Shoto asked if he could talk to Ochaco. When they were both standing in front of the school, Shoto sprung his question. "What were you saying about One for All? Don't give me any crap about it being a 'motto'."

Ochaco stuttered, her words falling out in a mess. "I...I…" She didn't know what to say. "I don't know if I'm allowed to tell you. I wish I could, but I can't."

"And why do you wish to tell me?" Shoto urged. "Do you just think that, because I'm the son of Endeavour, I deserve special treatment?"

"No." Ochaco said. "It's because….it's because I like you!"

Shoto was taken aback. Sure, he had noticed an amount of stuttering and blushing from her, but he never expected her to say it like that. Shoto walked away quickly. "I need to go."

Ochaco never saw the tears of happiness that formed in his eyes.

Ochaco walked to her apartment after school finished, just wanting to be alone. As she was walking, her mind was filled with anguish, agony and pain. Memories of her parents' death flashed in her mind, along with the good memories. A particular one came to mind, where the three of them were at a park.

Ochaco was on a swing, and she fell off. Without any sort of delay, her parents caught her, her mother twisting her ankle in the process. Ochaco pulled out a photo she had always carried in her pocket and smiled at it sadly. It was a family photo, taken right after Ochaco had been born. Her mother was very tired, but she was smiling, along with her father. I was always their priority, but I failed them. She thought. I don't even know why I'm striving to become a hero anymore. The only people I was doing this for are gone…

Ochaco reached her broken down apartment, set her keys down on the counter and sat down. She gazed out her window-just a small .5x.5 meter opening-and teared up yet again.

Suddenly her door was flung open, All Might walking inside.

"I locked the door." Ochaco stated plainly.

"That lock can't keep me out!" All Might beamed.

"What do you want?" Ochaco asked miserably. "I need to be alone."

"And I need to talk." He replied. "I know that everything has been tough, but you have to put that aside."

"You just want me to forget my parents!?" Ochaco challenged.

"No. I want you to cherish that memory and always think of them. Now that you have your new power, you can't just drown in your guilt."

"I...I…" Ochaco whispered. "I don't know why I should be a hero anymore!"

All Might recoiled in shock. "Why?"

Ochaco shifted uncomfortably. "The only….the only reason I became a hero was to make money for my parents!"

All Might grimaced. "That's the only reason?" He asked. Maybe I was wrong for giving her One for All. Unless, of course, she sets her goals straight.

Ochaco nodded, tears springing to her eyes. "I know that it's selfish, but I wanted to help my parents. I still do."

All Might sat down and ran his hands through his long hair. "Do you know anything about who killed your parents?"

Ochaco nodded. "Only his and he can rust metal. I also found that most of the wood in my house had decayed as well." She blurred awkwardly.

All Might took note of the rust metal and decay parts. He ignored her grammatical errors and scratched his chin thoughtfully. "I have heard something about how a few major crime scenes have decayed material…" All Might stared Ochaco in the eye. "I think he knows that you have my quirk."

Ochaco nodded. "I don't think that those thugs that tried to sell me were unconscious when we talked."

All Might nodded slowly. "In that case, we can assume all villains know about this. We must take extreme caution."

Ochaco puffed her cheeks up. "Fine." She got up and walked to her kitchen and started to microwave some instant noodles. "So what did you think about the battle training?"

"I am fairly happy, but I'm not sure what's going on with your quirk."

"I'm not sure either." She admitted. "I find that the more powerful One for All becomes, the less powerful my original quirk is."

"I have to admit, I don't know. All the other users of One for All were quirkless."

"Really?" Ochaco asked.

"Yes, really." He turned toward the window. "I hate to say this, but I think One for All might be...eliminating your other quirk. It's sad, but only one person I know could handle more than his quirks given to him at birth. And that man….is the worst person in history."

"Did you fight him?"

"Yes. He is the man who destroyed some of my organs and created his scar in my side." All Might paused as Ochaco took her food out of the microwave. He changed the topic. "So what's going on with you and Shoto?"

"Nothing!" Ochaco insisted, "just some..talking."

"What was the thing after school, about? Your comms shorted out for a few seconds, is it about that?"

"Partly." Ochaco admitted. "I forget I had the earpiece activated and said something about One for All. I think he suspects something."

"What did you say?" All Might asked, his blood racing.

"I asked if the problem was affecting One for All. I told Shoto that it was an old saying but he knows I lied."

"Well, if this is the case." All Might looked back at her. "His life is in danger as well."

And that is the end of chapter 6!

I hope you all are enjoying the story thus far, and if you have any questions, feel free to PM me. I know that I have said this before, but I'm only expecting this story to go to the start of the sports festival, or, due to certain circumstances, to the end of the USJ attack. I'm sorry to disappoint you guys, but I find that this story is not flowing well, and I have another story idea. I can only really handle one story at a time, which is why I'm trying to finish this one.
