Well, this took longer to finish than I thought. I would have posted the second chapter a month back, but my laptop's battery decided to completely just die on me. Isn't that wonderful? It took some time to get a replacement and when I did get it, life got in the way too.

All jokes and excuses aside, I didn't expect to get the amount of follows or favorites to be this much. It might not look like much, but it means a lot to me that people enjoyed my fic enough to follow or favorite it.

I'll leave the responses to review at the bottom, and without further ado, here's the second chapter.

Disclaimer: I don't own RWBY or any of the other elements I've taken from other shows, all of them belong to their respective owners.

Raven sat in her tent questioning herself, even Vernal questioned her if she was sure about taking in Ryver. She did something she normally wouldn't do and picked up a boy from a village her tribe raided.

She couldn't fathom the fact that a mere child knocked down experienced fighters, killers in fact. And he did it without any aura too. How he even managed to fight five of them and get out mostly unscathed was baffling. When Vernal knocked him out, she made the decision to bring him back on a whim. Raven herself didn't know why, but something told her that Ryver wasn't a someone who lived in that village.

First of all, his appearance and attitude didn't match up with all the other scared and weak villagers. While the other people who fought with her men were absolutely terrified and put up a pathetic attempt of a fight, Ryver fought back with an irritated and inconvenienced look. Then when she questioned him about how he felt now that the village was gone, he just scoffed, suggesting that he didn't care about it at all. It intrigued Raven.

When the boy woke up, he was a pain to deal with. Raven expected him to cower and tremble in fear now that he was in the custody by the group of bandits that caused the fall of the village he was in. But instead he was calm, snarky and annoying to deal with. He showed no sign of fear whatsoever and even laughed. Sure he flinched when she grabbed him, and he did admit that he was scared later on, he only responded with another glare and more snide remarks.

That part of Ryver irritated Raven. He was just some kid, yet he didn't act like one at all. The only resemblance he had to a kid his age, was that he was annoying.

The bandit leader wanted to see exactly how he had fought against her men. She initially lied to him about her 'offer' and asked Vernal to fight him, just to see how he would act in a life or death situation. Vernal might have been young and around the same age as the boy, but she was brought up differently. She was raised to kill for her family, for her tribe. So the shock that appeared on Raven's face when she saw Ryver put Vernal in a choke hold which she struggled to get out of, was genuine. She just couldn't believe it.

When Raven told Vernal she saw 'potential' in him, she was merely jesting. But after seeing what he did, she realized he did have potential. He wasn't supposed to beat Vernal in hand-to-hand, even more so without aura, yet he did. Somehow he was able to force the girl into a strong choke hold.

At this point, Raven knew there was definitely something off with the boy. If not acting like the child he should be wasn't normal, then effectively putting someone in a choke hold was definitely not normal.

Then the words he said stuck to her, "When your life is on the line, you'll do anything to win." If his conviction was as strong as how he said it, then Raven would have him help strengthen her tribe. Then there was his aura. It was nothing like she had ever seen before. When Raven said that his aura pool was huge, it was an understatement. It felt like a pit, a gigantic pit of aura that managed to overwhelm her.

Vernal voiced out her concerns again after her first spar with him. The way he kept resiliently getting back up only to get knocked back down again, sent her an uncomfortable vibe. Yeah, she underestimated him twice, but something about Ryver felt off to her. Raven reassured her, saying that it just showed how strong his will was.

Raven had already put a target on her back when she mercy killed the last spring maiden. There was no doubt that Salem would come after her one day, and it uneased her. Sure she had maiden powers, but could that alone stop Salem? Absolutely fucking not.

But Ryver was an anomaly. With his huge amount of aura and conviction, he could possibly become someone dangerous in the future, even more so than Vernal. He could give the tribe leader a fighting chance in defending her tribe against Salem when it comes down to it. In time she would make him come to trust her and become a valuable ally.

Ryver didn't trust Raven one bit.

Everything she did screamed suspicious and he wasn't having it. He was grateful that she was training him how to fight in a world where fighting was honestly necessary, but he knew she was scheming something else as well. She wasn't above manipulating people, so she'd use him for something.

Ryver was sure Raven had already killed the previous spring maiden, since it happened years prior to before the main cast would meet and the fact that Vernal would have to be a child, if the previous spring maiden was still alive. He presumed that Raven was going to use him to fight back against Salem's lackeys when the time comes, but he had no intention of staying in the tribe for too long. As much as he didn't trust Raven, he'd had to make her think he did and her to trust him, so he could do what he needed to in the future without Raven questioning him too much.

Now that he was finally given time to properly think, Ryver's top priority was to try to find a way back home. Because, if something or someone brought him here, then they could probably bring him back. He remembered the relic of knowledge that was shown in Volume 5. If he were to somehow obtain it, he would be able to ask Jinn if there was a way back. It was the only thing he could think of that would help him find a way back home.

At this point, the boy still hadn't factored in siding with Ruby and co. Raven bringing him into her tribe makes it a little easier for him to reach that point of time in the timeline. Ryver already knew the outcome of that day, so he just needed sneak into the vault somehow and 'borrow' the relic for a question.

If Jinn told him there wasn't a way back, then honestly, he'd be conflicted on what to do next. On one hand he could just sit out of the fight against Salem and tell the protagonists what Ozpin kept from them, or he could join them and do the same.

Ryver shook his head. He was thinking too far into the future. Who knows what could happen along the way. Right now, he had to focus on becoming a stronger to be able to even stand in that situation. Though he didn't share the same 'the weak die and the strong survive' mentality, he admitted that he would need to adopt a similar mindset to survive on Remnant.

He had been trying to figure out how the techniques could be applied on RWBY aura or what he dubbed, 'RA' for the past hour.

"Since RA does flow out, it means people here do have aura nodes right? But if someone's aura unlocked, wouldn't their aura nodes be exposed? And I'm sure people here can't use Ten, so isn't that dangerous?" The boy shook his head. "No, maybe it's some kind of unrefined type of Ten they're maintaining. They might not even realize they're doing it." The boy hummed. "I can kinda see my aura when it's active but not when it's passive, it's kind of like In in that way. I'm sure there's some way to use Nen-techniques. People are able to do something similar to Ryu and Shu after all." Ryver stood up in a simple stance and recalled what Wing had said to Gon and Killua, when he was teaching them Ten.

The boy took a deep breath as he concentrated and closed his eyes. "First, visualize my aura flowing like blood through my body. Concentrate the flow from the top of my body. to my right shoulder. Then to my hands, before passing it through my legs, and finishing through the left side of my body." Ryver felt as his aura flared a little and began to condense and surrounded him. "Finally, visualize that flow beginning to ebb and hover around my body." Ryver felt as his aura formed on top of his skin like a very thin layer of mucus.

The black haired boy slowly opened his eyes while concentrating on keeping his aura condensed. "I'm not sure if I quite did it, but.." Before Ryver could finish blinking, the thin layer that surrounded him broke instantly. "Nevermind... I guess not.." The boy sighed while sweat-dropping.

Ryver closed his eyes once more and repeated.

Raven picked up the scroll Ryver had asked for and was currently making her way to his tent, to get him up for sparring as well.

She walked in and saw the boy standing with his eyes closed. "What is he doing?" The woman's eyes narrowed and noticed that Ryver was covered by a shroud of aura that was slowly leaking away. Her eyebrow raised as she looked in wonder. "Ryver." She called out, but to no response. "Ryver." She called out again, but still no response.

The tribe leader's eyebrows twitched with annoyance and walked up to the boy, flicking his forehead.

"Gah-"

The boy's eyes shot open as he fell back startled. "What the-! Raven? Is it time for sparring already?" The woman in question responded by waving the scroll he asked for the day before. He made an 'o' face realizing that Raven found him a scroll that he asked for. She threw it at him, which he caught clumsily. "Thanks."

Raven let out a hum before speaking. "What were you doing with your aura? You didn't respond when I called out just now." Ryver scratched his head as he panicked a little. "I was trying to maintain my aura from flowing out." He confessed. The woman tilted her head in confusion. "What?"

"Does she not know her aura slowly flows out her body? Isn't she like one of the best huntsmen on Remnant? You'd think she would know, but I guess this proves to me that the people here themselves don't know about Nen like techniques or Nen like properties." Ryver rubbed his chin as he came up with an idea. "I know you're confused right now, but if you don't mind, could you inject me with your aura again like you did yesterday, but with more force?"

The tribe leader blinked in confusion again. She didn't understand anything Ryver was saying. "You-what?"

"Just humor me for awhile, please. I need you to force some of your aura into me." Ryver pleaded. "If what I just thought of is right, then not all of people's aura nodes are opened when their aura is unlocked. If I could get Raven to do what Wing did and apply Ten to it, maybe then it would work. It's dangerous, but I want to confirm it." The boy turned around so his back faced the woman and took his shirt off.

Raven shook her head in disbelief but complied for now. She was very confused as to why Ryver wanted her to do such a thing and was even more so when he removed his shirt. Yet, she was also intrigued in what he was going to do. She hesitantly placed her hand near Ryver's back and began pushing her aura into him for the second time.

Ryver grunted as he felt the intense heat flow through his whole body. It was like his body was on fire as he was enveloped with Raven's aura. However, the feeling soon died down and was replaced with something else.

Raven backed off as she saw the boy's body emitting some kind of white vapor. It was like steam was spilling out of his body. Ryver opened his eyes and looked down his hands, seeing that it looked exactly like how Gon and Killua looked when all their aura nodes opened. "My aura feels a little stronger than before... Let's try it again.."

Applying the same concentration as before, Ryver contained his aura, condensing and surrounding it around his body. It took awhile longer but when he was done, he noticed the seeping had ceased. Ryver opened his eyes and sighed in relief. "Well I'll be damned, I actually did it."

Raven blinked her eyes again, the same shroud of aura returned, but this time it wasn't leaking anymore. "How are you keeping that shroud of aura up so easily?"

The boy narrowed his eyes in thought. Letting out a huff, Ryver returned his gaze to the bandit leader.

"All I did was a simple aura manipulation technique." He stated plainly. Raven's eyes narrowed, unsatisfied with Ryver's vague answer. "If it was such a simple technique, why don't I know it?"

The boy simply shrugged. "Beats me. From the spars we had, you also shrouded your body in aura, albeit it's kinda unrefined."

"What do you mean unrefined?" Raven folded her arms.

"Do you know how aura is expelled from your body?"

"What?" She raised an eyebrow.

"If you want me to answer your question, then just keep humoring me. I need to know what you understand about aura." Ryver faked a irritated tone. He noticed Raven growing impatient and annoyed, but he did it anyways to explain Nen as if it was already known in this world.

The woman stayed quiet for a moment before speaking. "I don't understand your question."

"I'll rephrase then, how is someone able use aura?"

"I...don't know. I never questioned how it worked, I only know I can use it."

Ryver hummed, realizing that the people on Remnant didn't know about aura nodes.

"It's because of the control we have over our aura nodes."

"Aura nodes?"

"They are specific points all over the body, kind of like pressure points, that controls the flow of aura. Normally they are closed, but when someone awakens their aura, these nodes open up and lets their aura leave the body. Understand me so far?"

Raven simply nodded. She never heard about aura nodes before, so it made it a little difficult to believe the things that Ryver said. Another thing that bothered her, was that he had only unlocked it yesterday with her help, yet here he was talking about aura as if he had experience in it for years. It didn't look like the boy was making up a bunch of bullshit, but it still bothered Raven on how he had this knowledge.

"People who use aura can control how much aura is released from these nodes. And with enough training, they can also control the nodes itself." Ryver paused to take a breath. "What I just made you do was open the rest of my aura nodes. When you unlocked my aura yesterday, only a portion of those nodes opened up. Normally someone takes a long time through meditation to open up their aura nodes, but since I was impatient, I asked you to forcefully open them, which is very dangerous and I should add that I didn't even know if it would work."

"Back to your question. The simple aura manipulation technique I used is called Ten, which shrouds your body with aura and keep it contained within a thin layer from your skin." Ryver explained. "Why I said what you were doing was unrefined, is because you just shroud your body and let the aura flow away. You're not doing anything to keep it contained."

"Ten?.."

Ryver nodded. "Yes, Ten."

Raven went silent as she tried to understand Ryver's explanation. By the look of his face, Ryver didn't seem to be lying. Taking a closer look at the boy, she saw his aura strongly contained within a thin layer from this body, like he had explained.

"So the reason you can keep your aura up for so long is because you don't let it escape your body?"

"Yep."Ryver nodded condescendingly, annoying Raven further. "When you use your aura, you're expelling it constantly which drains you faster, leading to aura exhaustion. Since I'm keeping it from leaking away, I can constantly keep this up and use my aura without exhaustion."

"Wouldn't keeping it up draw the attention of others?"

Ryver sulked inwardly, he could hide his aura if he knew how to use Zetsu or In, but unfortunately he only just barely learned Ten. He placed his hand on his chin as he tried to focus on suppressing his aura.

Raven watched as the black haired boy closed his eyes, and slowly the shroud of aura covering Ryver completely vanished. "Huh, didn't expect myself to get it on the first try...Maybe I'm talented with aura or something..." Ryver snickered to himself before returning his gaze to Raven.

"I can hide it if I want to." He said smugly, releasing Zetsu and allowing his aura to flow again.

Raven shook her head and blinked in disbelief, watching Ryver's aura disappear and reappear. It took Hunters at least a few months or even a year to do something like that, and yet the boy in front of her did it in a flash.

"How did you do that?" She narrowed her eyes.

"Simple. Aura. Manipulation. Technique." Ryver replied with a cheeky smile.

Raven stared at Ryver in doubt. He was clearly hiding something with no intention on revealing it. The woman sighed and spoke again.

"If it's such a simple technique, how is it not common knowledge?"

The boy shrugged again. "Who knows? I only explained what I know."

He was definitely hiding something. Hearing his response, Raven sighed inwardly and asked another question.

"Earlier you said that only half of your aura nodes opened up when I unlocked your aura yesterday. Why did only half of them open up?"

"Jesus, how many questions does she have?" Ryver blinked blankly. "Not really sure about that. I just figured the reason I couldn't apply Ten properly was because not all of my aura nodes were open. I need them to be fully open to apply Ten. If I had to take a guess, I'd say the reason for your unrefined version of Ten is also because not all your aura nodes are open."

"What?"

"Like I said, maybe the reason you have a unrefined Ten is because only a small portion of your aura nodes are open. Whoever unlocked your aura did a piss poor job at it." Ryver huffed. "Although, now that I think about it. It wouldn't make sense for someone who only had a portion of their aura nodes open to fully open another person's aura nodes...Maybe she does have everything opened up, but she just doesn't know how to properly maintain Ten..."

The black haired boy stared at Raven.

"Or maybe the person who thought you how to use that half-assed Ten did a piss poor job."

Raven looked at her new tribe member with an unamused expression.

"Alright then, let's try this. I'll tell you how to properly maintain Ten, and you try and see if it works." Ryver said with his palm in the air.

Raven raised an eyebrow but continued listening anyways. After telling Raven to get into a pose she felt comfortable in and reciting Wing's words, the tribe leader felt as her aura condensed and surrounded her body before settling down into a thin layer.

"So, how do you feel?" Ryver couldn't see Raven's aura without Gyo, but he felt it condense and settle down.

"It feels like an extra layer of skin." Raven looked at Ryver amazed that what he said actually worked.

"Keep practicing Ten and eventually you'll be able to even keep it up in your sleep."

"How do you know so much about aura?" The woman was curious. She wondered where Ryver learnt this from.

"That's a secret." Ryver put his finger in front of his lips. "I'm sure you have your own secrets, and like you I want to keep them secrets." He finished narrowing his eyes with an innocent smile.

While Ryver looked calm and collected on the outside, inside he was feeling nervous as hell. He had a feeling that Raven would beat it out of him or something, but she didn't.

Instead she closed her eyes for a second and sighed.

"Fair enough."

The black haired boy blinked a couple times before processing Raven's words.

"Alright, enough talking. It's time to spar."

Ryver gulped as Raven turned to leave his tent.

"Oh boy.."

A week passed since Ryver learned Ten and Zetsu, and he also noticed that the white vapor that surrounded him, turned into the same dark-violet color as his RA. He was surprised since Nen wouldn't normally change color unless someone was using their Hatsu ability or something along those lines. But, Ryver shrugged it off since what he had wasn't technically Nen.

His Ten held up most of the time, although he'd slip up some times. And even with Ten, he was still getting beaten up badly by both Vernal and Raven. While not having aura deplete in a fight at all was very useful. The pain he felt from each blow, was hard to deal with.

Although he was slowly turning into a punching bag, the past week went well as he continuously improved each day. Even though both Raven and Vernal were holding back, Ryver managed to get the upper hand a few times.

He had gotten used to Ten and Zetsu, and started practicing Ren. Ryver wasn't able to maintain it for too long, albeit he just started practicing. But he found it useful against Vernal nonetheless. Although, the fatigue he received after hitting his limit was something he was trying to get used to.

He found out the hard way, as he used it during a spar with Vernal. When the wave of exhaustion hit him, it gave his sparring partner the opportunity to deck him in the face. He had completely forgotten that Ren produced more aura at the cost of expending said aura.

Currently the boy was training to increase the amount of time he could use Ren, while trying to use Ten to contain the aura produced by his Ren.

"This is harder than I thought." The black haired boy groaned as he plopped down on the ground, covered in sweat. "Right now I can only hold my Ren up for about five minutes, and if I remember correctly it usually takes a month just to increase it by another ten minutes. As much time as I have until Canon, something tells me that I'll need to get as stupidly strong as I can before the time period ends." Ryver sighed as he pushed himself off the now wet ground.

Ryver managed to transfer the data on his phone onto his scroll. He wasn't too surprised that the scroll had a Bluetooth function, but he was surprised when he was able to pair the two devices. He didn't bother questioning how two devices from different worlds were able to connect to each other, he only cared that he didn't lose all his music and could listen to it while he rested.

Using his newly acquired scroll, he figured out that he had around two years before Canon started since the 39th Vytal festival was going to be held in a few months. With three weeks left before the tribe's next big raid, he'd been doing his best to improve his fighting skills for that day.

After finding out about the two years he had, Ryver decided to kick his body into overdrive and push himself as much as he could. "Is this what Gon and Killua felt like when Biscuit forced them to maintain Ren for three hours?" Ryver shook his head. "No matter how draining this is, I'll need to tough it out." The boy sighed deeply as he turned to look out of his tent and into the night sky. "It's been a week and I miss them even more."

My eyelids cracked open as I woke up. Another week passed and I finally mastered both Ten and Zetsu. Whilst I got used to the fatigue Ren gave me, I also managed to increase my time limit by three minutes. Even though it sounds short it was more than enough to reward me for my efforts. If I could increase it by three minutes in a week, I'd have twelve in a month. Two more minutes than what it's said to increase by.

"Ughh..." I groaned as I got off my bed. "You'd think I'd be used to this after two weeks, but here my body is, aching away..."

Changing my clothes and brushing my teeth, I exited my tent and headed to the pantry for breakfast. Grabbing a piece of bread and an apple, I left to the camp gate next.

Having at least three hours left before having to spar with Raven everyday, I always ran a few laps around the campsite and did some other exercises to keep in shape. With all the sparring and Nen training, I still concluded that normal exercise was just as important.

After that I'd started practicing my Ren. I learned how to use Gyo too, albeit I have to focus quite a bit. My Nen training takes a lot out of me, so I usually make sure I have at least forty minutes to rest before going to spar with Raven.

Speaking of which, I got better at blocking and parrying most of Raven's attacks again. I still got my ass beat at the end of it, but I was better than when I started.

Sparring with Vernal on the other hand... I wouldn't say I'm not improving with her, but I noticed she was starting to get more serious with each spar we had. I mostly used Ren against Vernal to tank more hits to improve my control on it. But, in the end I would fall on my ass in defeat.

It took a few days to get used to the exhaustion that Ren gave me, but when I finally did, I ended up lasting much longer against Vernal. A feeling of dread washed over me as I had a feeling the cocky bandit would turn it up another notch later today.

Having rested enough, I made my way to the spot where I always sparred with Raven.

"I see you're waiting as always."

The woman rolled her eyes as she unsheathed her sword.

"Is it just me, or do you always look this grumpy?" I joked and she immediately dashed forwards. I barely had enough time to draw my own sword, but I blocked her attempt at smacking me just in time.

"You talk too much." She sent me an irritated look before striking once more.

Our blades hit and bounced off of each other. In the past few days of Nen training, I also tried using my aura to coat my blade for a stronger hit. It was like a unrefined Shu, but it worked all the same. Coating my blade with aura, I slid my foot on the ground to kick up some dust before swinging my sword at Raven.

"Nah, I don't think I talk that much."

She was caught off guard by the dust but still managed to block my attack, although it pushed her back a little. Raven narrowed her eyes and gave me a colder glare before we lunged at each other again.

The sound of metal hitting with each other echoed throughout the field. We exchanged blows, parrying each attack one after another. As our blades collided once more, Raven pushed me with her elbow as she quickly thrusted her blade at me.

I must have shocked her, since I was somehow able to parry her attack simultaneously flinging her sword out of her grip by twisting and flicking my blade around hers, before pointing the tip of my blade at her neck. "Did I just do that?" We both blinked in confusion until the sound of her sword landing onto the ground snapped us back to life.

"Well," I let out a soft chuckle, "that happened..." I scratched the back of my head.

"So it did." She said softly before picking up her sword. "You're improving every day."

I blinked in surprised at her sudden compliment. "Thanks-"

"And that means, you'll be fine if I start getting more serious."

A sadistic grin crept up on Raven's face as I looked on in fear.

"I found the devil..."

Sparring with Raven ended the same as always. After getting the upper hand once, she completely starts wiping the floor with me.

"Dammit..." I clicked my tongue, annoyed that I got happy when I unarmed her earlier.

Ruffling my hair in annoyance, I grabbed a bottle of water and chugged it's contents. The same feeling of dread I felt earlier washed over me again as Vernal stood in front of me, cracking her knuckles.

"Here we go again...wooo..."

"Time to get your ass kicked again, Ryver."

"Yeah, yeah." I groaned and got up, much to her delight.

The spar against Vernal went like our others spars. However, as more time passed and as more hits she landed, I grew more annoyed at myself for letting myself become her sandbag. Smacking her punch away, I activated Ren and threw my fist at Vernal's stomach as hard as I could.

She gasped in pain as I knocked the air out of her lungs. Giving her little time to recover, I immediately spun around for a roundhouse kick to the head.

Vernal blocked it with her arm but left her lower half open. I grabbed her shoulders and rammed my knee into her abdomen. Once again she spat out air before falling to the ground.

"Who's getting their ass kicked now?" I taunted her as she got up coughing. Her hand covered her side as she winced in pain, before glaring back at me. "Annoying prick!"

She lunged forwards once more, ducking down to sweep my legs. Doing the same, I ducked down and swept the other way, pushing her leg away before twisting my body, swinging my other foot at Vernal's chin, smacking her back.

The girl let out an annoyed grunt quickly recovering. Exchanging punches, the both of us began striking and swinging at each other harder and harder.

Smirking at the annoyed girl, I managed to catch one of her fists because she was, well, too annoyed that she was getting beat up. Grabbing her arm, I turned around to fling her down to the ground. She hit the floor with a loud thud as the air in her lungs were knocked out once again.

Groaning in pain she clutched her abdomen as she slowly rose from the ground.

"What's wrong? Tired already?" I teased her, earning me one of her growls.

"I'm just getting started." She managed to croak out before we clashed again.

Things ended differently with Vernal, this this time around. Instead of being pummeled throughout the whole session, the roles reversed and she got pummeled. We were both tired and beaten up, but she was in a worse state than I was.

"About damn time." I smiled with glee. "Well, I did use Ren and I don't think I could have won without it." I frowned slightly as I realized I relied too much on my Ren. "Nah, a win's a win!" My smile returned as I hummed triumphantly.

"Vernal asked me when she could spar with you seriously using her weapons."

I turned around upon hearing Raven's voice.

"Sounds like she's a sore loser." I stuck my tongue out, making Raven's head shake as she sighed.

"It's only been two weeks since your training and yet, you're marginally better than the other tribe members I've trained."

A cocky smile formed on my face. "What can I say? I'm a fast learner."

Raven looked at me with a blank face. I activated Gyo and saw that Raven's aura was finally perfectly contained with her Ten. "Looks like she got the hang of it too. Won't say I'm surprised. All that time spent as a huntress clearly helped."

"Do you think you'll be ready for the raid in two weeks?" Raven asked with her eyes narrowed.

"Probably." I said blandly. "And even if I'm not, it's not like I have much of a choice to not take part in the raid." Deciding to taunt Raven a bit, I put up a smug smile. "You don't have to worry so much. I know how strong I have to be to meet your expectations."

"Good." She scoffed. "I won't have a reason to be disappointed then."

Huffing I rolled my eyes. "Why would you? I plan on living for a long time, and I'll do whatever is necessary to do so."

"So you'll be perfectly fine with taking someone's life?" Raven looked at me as if she was testing my resolve. I couldn't help but flinch. Even though I joined a bunch of bandits, the thought of killing someone never crossed me. I had no qualms about taking down Grimm, since they were literally soulless monsters. But, could I really take someone's life without hesitating?

My fist clenched as I closed my eyes and drew a deep breath.

"I guess we'll have to find out when it comes to it." I said cooling, earning a somewhat satisfied smile from Raven. "Did you teach Vernal about Ten?"

"I did, however she couldn't quite hold it without her aura still leaking." Raven shook her head.

"That so?" I said not surprised. I activated Gyo during one of my spars with the girl. My mouth couldn't help but smile, seeing only some of her aura nodes open. "Well, that's unfortunate."

"Her aura nodes aren't fully open, are they?" Raven crossed her arms.

"Maybe." I replied nonchalantly. "Couldn't give less of a shit if they were. Definitely not my problem." Letting out a small chuckle, I was shot an unapproved look. "If you want to help her open them, be my guest. Just don't blame me when her aura can't take the force of yours."

The woman narrowed her eyes once more.

"What do you mean?" I could hear the concern and slightly threatening tone in her voice.

"Well, I did say that it was dangerous to do it that way? Sure if you were careful with your aura, it'd be fine. But if her aura can't take the force? Well, let's just say she might not come out unscathed. You could say I got lucky, and I'd advise you not to push Vernal's luck."

Raven went silent for a moment before sighing.

"What exactly are you hiding?" For the third time, she narrowed her eyes into dangerous slits. I stared at her for a second before smiling innocently. "I'm pretty sure everyone's entitled to their secrets, right Raven?" I returned the same expression before getting up to leave.

Although, she didn't say or do anything to stop me, I could still feel Raven's piercing glare.

As Raven watched Ryver walk away, she clicked her tongue in frustration. She was disappointed at the fact that Vernal couldn't learn the proper way of using Ten. It amazed Raven when she found out her aura now worked like a permanent force field.

She wanted Vernal to be able to use it for extra protection, being her decoy and all. But that chance was gone unless she wanted to run the risk of possibly killing her. Coming to a conclusion, the woman decided against it. While it would be useful for Vernal, she couldn't risk losing her.

Another thing Raven took noticed, was that Ryver's rate of improving was impressive. A mere two weeks of training and he was already better than most of her men. He even seemed to be catching up to Vernal's skill in hand-to-hand.

His swordsmanship went from simple and predictable swings, to wild and fast strikes. In only two weeks, Raven felt the progress she saw was unbelievable. Never in her life did she see someone with the same growth speed as Ryver.

Maybe he was a natural born fighter?

The woman shook her head. She didn't know what he was hiding, but he never ceased to surprise her. Especially his 'simple aura manipulation technique'. The rate of him learning how to use aura was honestly scary.

Raven entered her tent with a smile of wicked delight. "He's definitely going to become someone hazardous in the future."

Hmm, I wonder what's Raven plotting right now? Ryver's probably not gonna like it though.

I don't know if i was just stupid, but it took me awhile and irritated me when I was trying to write Nen and RA so that it would make sense. I rewrote parts of the chapter several times cause of my most likely idiotic brain. So much so, to the point where I just thought, 'Fuck it, it just works somehow and I'm not gonna question it'. So if there are people who question how Ryver makes Nen work with RA, please don't question it.

And if you haven't noticed, Ryver is like Gon and Killua in terms of potential to become a powerful Nen user.

Reviews-

thepowerfullkira: Right now, I'm not planning on pairing Ryver with anyone yet, because of the things I've planned. But, that may change in the future. And while I like the suggestion of Ki from dbz, I haven't actually watched the series and my pea-sized brain couldn't handle Nen while writing this chapter, so I'll just stick to Nen. Thanks for the suggestion though :)

Jackejsh: Thanks, and yeah I guess I kinda delayed his realization subconsciously, but if I had to use an excuse I'd say, yes, Ryver is kinda an idiot. lel

RoachVit: Yeah. After reading it again, I remembered it did have good aura manipulation in it. Looks like my small brain failed me again xd

legitreader123: Thanks for the compliment! And I guess there is quite a lot going on huh? I've taken that to mind, so hopefully I didn't do the same with this chapter lul

Akurar: I'm glad you enjoyed it x)

brostream69: Awh, you're making me blush

Jerry12344321: Will do
