Chapter 7

Lavender POV

The meeting in the Room of Requirement ended shortly after Draco and Marcus left. They were really bumming everyone else out!

A few days later I thought it'd be a good idea to check up on the demigods after the things Draco and Marcus said.

"Uhhh, guys?" I asked, stepping into the Gryffindor commons room. Everyone would be out on the quidditch pitch thanks to the game going on. Gryffindor Vs Hufflepuff.

"Lavender?" My older sister Piper asked.

"Yup, it's me..." I sighed.

"What are you doing here?" Annabeth asked, not looking up from her book.

"I just wanted to check in on you guys..." I whispered quietly.

"About what Draco, and Marcus said? Yeah, it was totally out of line, clearly they care more about their reputations than family." Annabeth ranted, snapping her book closed.

"We put them up to it... Didn't Dean tell you guys?"

The other demigods looked everywhere but Lavender.

"Still doesn't excuse what they said." Nico grumbled.

"No. No, it doesn't, but it hurt them just as much, maybe even more than it hurt you guys." Still no one met her gaze.

"I'm going to go watch the end of the game... just... think about it... ok?" And with that Lavender walked out, feeling slightly guilty for being the one who suggested the plan.

Nico POV

Things were awkward after Lavender left.

"I know Draco, he wouldn't have said what he did unless it was in the best interest of everyone." Percy shook his head.

No one wanted to admit it, but they knew that he was right. Draco had a terrible childhood and he wouldn't risk the relationship he had with his family unless it was truly needed. Same went with Marcus.

"Then what do we do now?" Clarisse seemed like she wanted to say more on the matter of the two boys insults, but didn't.

"We could... talk to them?" Everyone froze at Katie's suggestion.

"Na." Everyone including Katie agreed.

"Well confronting the Golden Trio is out of the question for the moment, as Dean said we should be laying low." Will pointed out.

"Fine then. We lay low, and do what we were sent to do, let the others do the rest. We came to protect the school, not get dragged into conspiracies." Thalia stated.

Everyone made noises of agreement, and went back to doing whatever they were doing before.
