A/N: Oh my, is this chapter a roller coaster. Sorry, not sorry about the cliffhanger. At least its not like the Mark of Athena one. Haha probably just as bad though. The next part of the festival should be out by Friday, but don't quote me on that. Shit happens.

Oh by the way, the normal text is Evelyn in this chapter and the italics are Wilbur's point of view.

Anyways, enough of my rambling. Enjoy the chapter!

:)

The festival started out well, as for the ending...

Evelyn wouldn't lie. A lot of the festival was filled with fun anxiety. The feeling she had that something would go wrong was filling most of her thoughts. What would happen? What could happen?

She had quite a bit of fun watching the festivities, opting out of most of them herself so she wouldn't get caught. Who knows what would happen if Schlatt found out about her secret or the dagger. Evelyn had hidden it underneath her dress, and she made sure to wear one that was a lot less skin tight, to avoid anyone finding out about either of her secrets.

Wilbur stood atop a building watching the festival take place. Tommy was somewhere nearby, on the same rooftop. He kept going back and forth in his mind. Should he blow up L'manberg? Should he not? Would he risk killing Tubbo, Techno, and Evelyn if he did? Was it worth it to destroy the country he had played the largest role in creating? Wilbur wasn't sure. It was a difficult decision to make.

Evelyn had come to the reasonable conclusion that something was going to happen, and it would be big. For all she knew it could result in someone dying, and considering she had a knife on her, someone might just end up dead. She knew how to use it, and she wasn't afraid to if necessary.

She had placed the dagger where it would be easily accessible but couldn't be seen by anyone. Evelyn nervously played with the ring she adorned on her left hand, itching to not be in the dark about what her husband was planning. She hadn't spoken to him in nearly three months. Every moment she was apart from him made her heart ache more and more than the previous.

Wilbur's coat flew behind him in the air as he kept his eyes trained on his wife. She seemed different, almost as if she was afraid of every movement. Perhaps she was. Wilbur didn't know how much Tubbo had told her, he'd only told Tubbo to give her the dagger to protect herself and to get her out of there as soon as his speech was finished. He hadn't specified if Tubbo could tell her anything more.

What if she gets hurt? A voice within Wilbur's mind asked. A part of him that he'd long pushed away. The part that still cared. There was no time to linger on things from his past. He had to blow it up, to rid the world of the biggest mistake he had ever made. L'manberg.

Evelyn knew Tubbo's speech was fast approaching. This meant that whatever Wilbur had in store would have to be coming soon. Minutes earlier, Schlatt had approached her and asked if she would like to participate in a drink. Evelyn declined. Not only because of that, but also because she wanted to be fully sober in case anything were to happen.

Wilbur watched as Quackity, Tubbo, Schlatt, and Evelyn stepped onto the stage. Evelyn stayed closer to Schlatt than Wilbur thought was comfortable, but he dismissed it. He watched as Evelyn's eyes darted about, eventually landing upon him. Her eyes got slightly bigger, indicating that she had indeed seen him. She said nothing and kept a straight face, but he could see it. She was telling him to go, to leave this place they once called home and run to where it was safe. Wilbur would do no such thing. He was determined to see him plan through, no matter what he thought about it.

Evelyn saw him. Wilbur. She hadn't seen him in months. He looked different. Older, and more angry. She supposed he was justified in feeling that way. He was exiled from his own country. She tried to tell him to get the hell out of this wretched place to somewhere safe. He wouldn't be here. Evelyn already knew his answer either way. He wouldn't go. He would stay and whatever he was planning would happen.

Schlatt introduced Tubbo before stepping back, beside Evelyn. It's happening, the two thought. No matter the differences in what they thought was to happen by the end of the speech, neither would be correct in the outcome. It would surprise them all.
