A/N: Damn is this chapter even more of a wild ride than the last! I know, I know, be mad at me for what's going to happen. Don't worry, though. I will get another chapter out by Wednesday at the latest.

Enjoy!

:)

Tubbo's speech was supposed to honor either Schlatt or 'democracy', yet neither would feel honored afterwards.

Wilbur had made his decision. He would do it. He would hit the button, and condemn them all to the destruction that would ensue. As soon as Tubbo finished his speech, he would go and blow up Manburg, as they now called it.

The part of Wilbur that thought this was a terrible idea had to cling onto the hope that Tubbo would be able to get Evelyn out of there before either of them could get hurt. It was a desperate plea with himself to not potentially hurt his family. But it didn't matter, for the voices had won.

Evelyn watched as Tubbo prepared his speech. She saw the slight bit of anxiety residing in his eyes. It was a mutual understanding. One slip up and they both could wind up dead.

She turned her gaze back up to the rooftop where only seconds before she had seen something that shook her to her core. Wilbur. He was there. In the land that he was exiled from.

"Good afternoon ladies and gentlemen," Tubbo began. The speech started off well enough. Tubbo spoke of the greatness of Manburg and complemented Schlatt.

Then he said the words, "I'd like to thank everyone for coming to this wonderful event."

Evelyn thought that the speech had gone perfectly. Tubbo had done everything right. But, of course, as always, Schlatt had to pull something. He began to laugh and asked Tubbo if there was anything else in his speech. That's odd. Why would he ask that?

Wilbur waited for the words to come. The words that would change everything.

"Let the festival begin," there. Before Tubbo had even finished the statement, Wilbur was making a move to get off the building and to the button. The button that would blow up the nation.

Schlatt stepped forward and said something quietly to Quackity. Evelyn couldn't hear it but she felt the tension rising. She had seen Wilbur begin to move off after Tubbo had finished his speech. Tubbo still stood at the podium, just as confused as Evelyn was.

"Tubbo, I'll cut to the fucking chase," Schlatt said. Oh god, does he know?

"What?" Tubbo asked, clearly frightened.

"Tubbo, I-and it really sucks for me to say this right here in front of everybody, I mean it's kind of awkward. Tubbo. I know what you've been up to," Schlatt continued. Shit. He does know.

"What have I been up to? What-what are you talking about?" was the reply.

"'What have I been up to?' He says. What have I been up to?" Schlatt began laughing. It frightened Evelyn. She stayed quiet though. She would intervene if necessary, but not yet.

"You conspired with the idiots! With the-with the tyrants! That we kicked out this great country, months ago!" Schlatt's voice boomed.

"Tubbo I don't know if you know this but treason isn't exactly a respectable thing around here. I know what you've been doing, it all adds up, buddy. The fucking tunnels, your absence from great events, you walked off in the middle of this one! You walked off in the middle of this one, Tubbo. Don't try and tell me you've done nothing wrong. Because everybody knows it. I see it with my own two fucking eyes what you've been doing," Schlatt continued. Now. She had to intervene now.

"Mr. President, please, do you really think that Tubbo would be as foolish as to aid them? I mean you said yourself they were as good as dead," Evelyn offered, stepping forward.

"How would I know you aren't also helping them, huh?" Schlatt turned on her. "How would I know?"

"I've been by your side almost every day since you were elected. I never stepped in on any of your decisions before, but you can't just accuse a child of this! I mean you're accusing him of treason, on what grounds? You have no solid evidence," Evelyn argued back. She couldn't let him do this to Tubbo.

"What do you mean I have 'no solid evidence'? I have plenty! Now, you take your pretty little self, Mrs. Soot, and go stand back where you were, alright? Good," Schlatt said. Evelyn didn't know what else she could do, without getting herself in more trouble than she undeniably was in, so she stood back and let Schlatt continue.

He turned back to Tubbo, "Do you know what happens to traitors, Tubbo?"

"No," was the shaky reply to the question.

"Nothing good. Hey, Technoblade, you want to come up here for a second? Let's just send a message real quick. We like to send messages around here," Schlatt said. Techno quickly reached the stage and waited for Schlatt to continue.

"Tubbo, as the enemy of the state, and as a perpetrator to these awful, awful people. Technoblade, please, if you would be so kind-" "What are you asking, Schlatt?" Techno asked.

"I only call you in for special favors, I mean we go way back right? Techno I need you to take him out. You're gonna kill him, you're gonna kill him right now," Schlatt ordered.

No. He can't

"Mr. President, be reasonable, please," Evelyn stepped forward once again, in an attempt to stop Schlatt. He quickly stepped towards her and forced Evleyn to back up.

"Technoblade, do it. Kill him," Schlatt said.

Evelyn watched, helplessly as Technoblade pulled out a gun and raised it level with Tubbo.

Then, a shot firing could be heard by everyone attending the festival.
