Episode 3: Are you Smarter than a Robot?
*Last time on Survivor Crossover: Dry Dry Desert...*
Following Johnny Bravo's elimination the night before, many members of Power Flowers set out in search of an idol to gain an upper hand in Tribal Councils. Though, due to exhaustion among the others, not everyone had the courage to spend all day traveling to these sparse destinations.
As for Super Shrooms, drama broke out once the team realized that, before any of them could study the map and the whereabouts of all the locations, Waluigi had stolen it to pursue an idol located somewhere in the Koopa Sphinx. Luckily for those ready to hunt for idols, they managed to catch a small glimpse of the aforementioned Koopa Sphinx on the horizon, though that was the only destination they could travel to with confidence.
In the Jagged Rockies, King K. Rool and Papyrus both discovered the first idol of the show: the Mushroom Idol, which triples their voting power! Scared of losing his chance of having the idol, K Rool beckons Papyrus into an alliance with him to make him gain partial possession of the idol.
Whilst Meta Knight was unable to find any idols in the Cacti Paradise, he was taken off guard by a gigantic Pokey that jumped him from underground! Causing Meta Knight to flee back to the tribe.
Finally, Engineer, Tails and Little Mac all ventured to the Koopa Sphinx, and not only had a mainly on-guard talk with Samus: a member of the opposite team, but also found and scolded Waluigi over the drama he had indirectly caused...
At the challenge, the survivors elected five members from each team to participate in a coin-grabbing gauntlet. With Alexa revealing that bob-ombs would also be harassing their efforts half-way through, it was a marginally tense challenge, though much like last challenge, Super Shrooms managed to pull through and win, sending Meta Knight to Exile Oasis. Before the survivors split up back to tribe, Alexa became nervous upon being threatened with a potential lawsuit from Squidward if anyone got genuinely injured, something he forgot to write down about in the contracts and applications.
Back at tribe, Spy managed to form an alliance with Samus Aran, as well as Papyrus and K Rool, who had formed an alliance incredibly recently. With a four-man alliance that will target any backstabbers, Spy believes that they could easily get far. Said alliance wanted to target Meta Knight, though due to his absence at Exile Oasis, their substitute target would be Macho Man.
At Tribal Council, the alliance's plan luckily came into fruition, as almost everyone alongside them decided to vote for Macho Man due to his arrogant and feisty behavior.
Who will go out next? What blockages lie in their path to victory this time? All will be revealed in Survivor Crossover: Dry Dry Desert!
Power Flowers: Day 5
Survivors: Papyrus - Meta Knight - Princess Peach - Spy - Patrick Star - King K. Rool - ROB - Samus Aran.
Meta Knight soared towards the tribe, his wings fully spread out as the dusty wind collided with his mask, he squinted his eyes as he finally reached his destination, his wings slowly retracting more and more before he landed on the ground, greeting the others.
"...It appears Macho Man was the one who got eliminated," he studied. "Or maybe Samus... I don't see her around either."
King K Rool pointed to the horizon. "I think she went to find an idol but I'm not entirely sure. All I know is that I didn't see her when I woke up, and neither did anyone else."
The warrior folded her arms. "I see... what was the vote for Macho Man?"
"A 6-2," informed Patrick. "I know that because I remember voting for Spy alongside him!"
Suddenly, Spy's hand slightly clenched up as he turned his head towards Patrick. "You... voted for me?"
"Err, was I not supposed to say that?" Patrick began sweating, more so from the heat, but also because of how nervous he was getting. "H-he told me to, okay!"
"I was there... I guess Patrick is easily convinced," Peach shrugged. "Now that Macho Man's not there to bark out orders to him, I'm sure he won't vote for you again."
His fist slowly relaxed as he nodded. "Very well!"
"Let me guess: you voted him off because of how aggressive and arrogant he was?" Meta Knight asked. "After all, he didn't take part in the challenge, so it wasn't because of that I assume?"
ROB nodded. "Your accuracy rounds up to one-hundred percent. The team appears to be more confident in a win, especially now that the most arrogant are gone."
He gave a sigh as he adjusted his mask. "That's no surprise," he said, turning away. "If anyone needs me, I'll be exploring another area in search of an idol. Specifically the Jagged Rockies."
"Again?! You just got back from that oasis place! Don't you feel tired?" K Rool asked.
Meta Knight shook his head sluggishly. "Not quite. I have enough energy to go there, search, and head back. Then I may rest."
"Well, go ahead," Spy gestured. "And goodbye!"
The brave, ill-fatigued swordsman proceeded to spread his wings and take off once more, quickly disappearing out of sight as his cape fluttered majestically behind him.
"That reminds me..." Peach proceeded to look at the map. "If anyone else isn't going to hunt for idols, is it okay for me to take this map as I go search for some myself? If someone else wants it, I can hopefully rely on my memory and direction skills to get me there and back safely, so it's not a rather big deal."
"I know announcing that I'm going to be searching for an advantage over EVERYONE is putting a big red target on my back, but there's nothing I can really do to stop that! I can't sneak out for six hours, return, and then say I hadn't been spending that time looking for idols. It's a shame, but at least almost everyone on my team has at least considered doing it." - Princess Peach.
Patrick raised his hand. "Oh, I wanna find an idol!"
"You don't seem like the type to venture halfway across the desert for a small chance of finding an idol that someone might have already gotten," K Rool sniggered, giving Papyrus a light elbow whilst the others weren't looking.
"OUCH!" Papyrus rubbed his arm before his eyes lit up. "OOOH... I SEE WHAT THE NUDGE WAS FOR-"
"Shut it!" He barked.
Whilst K Rool scolded Papyrus, Patrick thought long and hard about K Rool's words, and after the awkwardly long period of thinking, he finally spoke up. "Wait, you got to go halfway across this giant hot desert?!" He queried.
Spy nodded slowly. "Pretty much?"
With defeat, the starfish leaned his face on his fist, in a newfound sulk. "I'm not doing that!"
"Awww, idols stink! I thought they were these cool things that made me unable to get voted off or whatever, but you have to walk across a big desert to find one?! I want a refund... wait, did I pay for this show? I can't remember... oh well, point is, I'm angry, and I'm not going to look for one whether my teammates like it or not." - Patrick Star.
Suddenly, the focus was driven back to Peach as she cleared her throat. "So, does anyone else want the map, or am I free to go?"
"You know what, I will go search for some too!" Declared Spy as he stood up. "I'd rather stretch my legs, after all."
"Oh, well here's the map." Peach held out the map, folded up in her own hands.
Spy peeked at it before shaking his head. "Oh no no, keep it, madam. I already have this entire desert engrained in the back of my skull, so I won't need it."
"Okay, thank you very much for your politeness, as well!" She smiled sweetly, waving to the others. "Goodbye everyone!"
"SAFE TRAVELS!" Waved Papyrus. "AND THE SAME FOR YOU, SPY!"
"You better not have no energy for tomorrow!" K Rool warned.
Alongside these two, the others waved goodbye as they walked off, the waving slowly dying down as they soon disappeared from sight...
Super Shrooms: Day 5
Survivors: Phoenix Wright - Luigi - Little Mac - Tails - Gordon Ramsay - Waluigi - Squidward Tentacles - Kirby - Engineer - Jotaro Kujo.
"Yaaaawn..." Exclaimed Phoenix as he gave a long, tired stretch upon leaving his tent. He rubbed his sensitive eyes as he looked around to see if anyone else was there, and as expected, there was at least one another person there.
That person was Waluigi, who lay silent on top of the bench, sweating and wiping his forehead.
He decided to walk over to him and sit down.
"So... hot..." He whined, fanning his face with his hat. "Why does this show have to be in a stupid desert!"
"I get you," said Phoenix. "Be thankful that we at least have shelter from winning the first challenge. We also had a pretty good feast last night, too!"
Waluigi acknowledged it. "I guess... but I'm-a still angry!"
"Not surprised..." He said to himself. "Anyway, where are the others?"
"Little Mac said he's going to-a some cactus place around an hour ago, then right after, Engineer and Tails went to that weird Koopa Sphinx, and the man in-a the black coat just left to-a also go to the cactus place." He attempted to remember the name. "What was it-a called? Cacti Resort?"
"Cacti Paradise?" He responded.
The lanky man in purple snapped his fingers. "That's the-a one! Anyway, leave me alone, I'm trying to-a sleep through the day."
Phoenix obliged his command, shuffling to the next bench over as he silently waited for the others to wake up and leave the tents.
"Now that everybody's had time to study the map, a lot of people are starting to go off to find idols. I should probably start doing that soon before they all get found, but I think I need a lot of energy before I can make such an expedition. It'll also be boring, so I should probably try and find someone to go with, if possible." - Phoenix Wright.
Ten minutes passed, and Squidward emerged from his tent, going through the same yawning and stretching process that Phoenix went through before going over to him and sitting down right next to him.
"Last night wasn't too bad," he grinned. "Not only did we have yet another night of winning, but Alexa's likely panicking right now. The idiot forgot to include anything in the contracts he sent out about us consenting to the chance of injury!"
The squid proceeded to give out a laugh that could only be described as a mix between a snort and a chortle. Phoenix quickly coined this laugh as a "snortle".
Regardless of his laughing, Phoenix decided to press him with a question regarding yesterday. "You're absolutely sure that the contract didn't include that? There's no way any of us to see the contracts now, only Alexa and a few of his staff would have access."
He nodded with assurance. "Don't worry, I'm one-hundred percent certain! The look on his face also gave it away, too."
"Yeah, but knowing Alexa, I don't think even he would read any contracts relating to his show, so he would probably have a double-check," thought Phoenix.
Silence passed before Luigi exited his tent, ready to start the next day with a bright smile.
"Hello!" He greeted, waving to Phoenix and Squidward.
"SHUT UP, I'M-A TRYING TO SLEEP!" Waluigi scolded, turning his head towards the now-silent plumber before attempting to sleep again.
Squidward raised an eyebrow. "Odd. He wasn't getting mad when we were talking just now..."
"That's because he-a doesn't like me very much..." Luigi admitted, his smile now a frown. "We're rivals, and I'm unlucky enough to be on the same team as someone who would-a never work with me."
"Sheesh, what happened between you?" Asked Phoenix. "That made you rivals, I mean."
"I imagine it has something to do with his knockoff version of your name," Squidward chuckled to himself.
Luigi, to Squidward's surprise, nodded. "Actually, a little bit."
"Huh?" He gasped.
The plumber continued, lowering the volume of his voice so Waluigi definitely couldn't hear him. "Basically, Mario is my-a brother, and he has a rival called Wario. Waluigi is Wario's friend, so naturally, he'd hate both of our guts, especially mine for-a some reason. I guess he wanted a rival of his-a own."
"I've had my fair share of rivals," Phoenix shuddered. "One used to be an arrogant cheater that only cared about his record... well actually, that describes a few of them." He admitted.
"Hmmph, I got a pompous rival of my own," Squidward rolled his eyes. "He thinks he's better than everyone else, but just wait until he sees me win this show!"
"We all got a lot of motivations for winning, from the looks of it. Whether it's to=a best a rival of ours by proving ourselves to be better, or just the prizes, or for fame!" Luigi listed. "I would like a bit more fame..."
Phoenix shook his head. "No way, you're the brother of Mario! I knew who you two were before I even heard of this competition. You really want even more fame?"
"Well, I'm in his-a shadow, a lot of the time, so winning something my-a brother failed to win will only show him that I'm just as worthy of-a being called number one!" He stood up with a triumphant grin, though he quickly followed it up by sitting back down. "Sorry, I'm-a getting ahead of my-a-self."
Suddenly, from behind, a certain chef climbed over the bench and sat down next to the group, none other than Gordon. "You can say that again. I thought I'd win the first season, but upon watching myself on it, I only got far due to complete luck. If things never went my way, I would have been eliminated incredibly early. Though, this time, I feel like I have more of a shot. I just need to play safer and improve my game. Anyway, enough about that, does anyone here want some lunch?"
"I actually feel a little full from yesterday, but filling up is-a necessary," Luigi nodded.
"Poyo!" Kirby nodded, scaring Gordon.
"Jesus! You scared the *CENSORED* out of me." He jumped back.
Phoenix shook his head. "Woah! Don't swear."
"Why not? No harm in a swear word," Gordon argued.
The lawyer then pointed to Kirby. "Doesn't he qualify as a toddler or something? He definitely looks like one... is he even a boy?"
"I think Kirby's a boy, but I can't get a clear answer out of him either..." Luigi confessed.
"Who cares if he's young? I bet he doesn't even know a word I'm saying!" Gordon groaned.
In retaliation, Kirby angrily tugged at the leg of his pants. "Hai!"
"...Maybe not," he added. "Fine, I guess I'll have to make an effort, though you have to admit it'd be pretty hilarious if he started repeating my swear words."
"Until he begins saying it to Alexa..." Phoenix said under his breath.
Gordon proceeded to cook for everyone currently at the tribe, making leftovers for the others who are currently out hunting for idols...
Jagged Rockies: Day 5
Survivors: Meta Knight - Spy.
As the brave warrior arrived at the Jagged Rockies, he noticed a large wooden sign that had been crudely placed right outside of the area. Out of curiosity, he walked over to it and gazed at it:
"Somebody here has already found the idol! You may still look around here, but your chances of finding an idol are a zero-percent. Lots of love: Alexa!"
"All of that traveling for nothing? I guess that wraps up my expedition for today," he spat bitterly, turning around and flying off.
However, as he flew back to the tribe, he noticed a small speck on the horizon, a mildly familiar speck that began approaching him quickly.
Eventually, he got close enough to identify this "speck" as Spy.
Meta Knight swooped downwards and landed on the ground cleanly, calling to his team member. "There's a sign at the Jagged Rockies that claims that the idol there has already been found. Turn back now," he commanded.
Spy, however, ignored him and continued approaching him. "That's not what I'm here for."
"What ARE you here for, then?" He interrogated, his guard raised.
"I came here to find you! I paid attention to the direction you were going towards and I went from there. Now that we're in private, I can finally tell you about something very important..." He grinned. "I've set up Samus Aran for elimination!"
Meta Knight glared towards him. "What is that supposed to mean?"
"I think we both know that the likes of her cannot be trusted, so I made a fake alliance with her, Papyrus, and K Rool that is planning to eliminate you the next time we lose!" He revealed. "Of course, I'm not actually going to be voting against you, I am just doing it to fool her. On the day of our next Tribal Council, whether that be tomorrow or many days later, I will get K Rool and Papyrus to vote against her as a blindside, and I imagine you will do so too. If none of us get exiled, she gets eliminated! If one of us gets exiled, then we'll have to convince Peach, ROB, or preferably someone stupid like Patrick to eliminate Samus. Either way, her chances of escaping the next Tribal Council are slim. So, will you join me in doing so?"
"I do not appreciate how you set me up as bait, nor do I appreciate you fooling so many people for your schemes. However, she is without a doubt a massive threat, and with her gone, things will be easier for everyone. I will vote with you, but don't expect us to become allies following that..." Meta Knight warned, before flying off, leaving Spy.
He began chuckling deviously to himself before turning around to walk back to his tribe, his plan set in motion. "I never really was on your side, Samus..."
Cacti Paradise: Day 5
Survivors: Little Mac - Jotaro Kujo.
With his hands firmly placed in his pockets, Jotaro continued to stroll across the scalding hot desert with his head low, somehow not phased by the heat, even if it would cause anyone to pant if they made the same journey as him.
As he spotted a prickly, tall green cactus plant from the corner of his eye, he raised his head up and took a long gaze at the Cacti Paradise, from left to right. During this gaze, he spotted a familiar figure next to a tall, bizarre, and orange creature.
The creature had sunken eyes, comically large spikes, and a structure that looked like somebody had stacked a bunch of orange spheres on top of each other. This same creature was the one Meta Knight had faced when he went to the area a couple of days back, but Jotaro was unaware.
He noticed that Little Mac was slowly backing away from it as it slowly drifted towards him. This told him that this creature was certainly not friendly at all.
Jotaro then quickened his pace, his stroll turning into a walk, then somewhere between a jog and a run.
Eventually, he was a few meters behind Little Mac, and the boxer turned around to nervously greet his tribe member.
"H-hey, good timing there Jotaro! This weird cactus monster just rose from the ground and has been following me for the past few minutes," Little Mac explained. "I'm a little scared to punch it considering how spiky it looks... it might go through my gloves!"
"Good grief..." He sighed.
Silence passed, and Little Mac awkwardly looked at Jotaro, still backing away. "So... can you summon your stand?"
"Sure... STAR PLATINUM!" Jotaro called out, adjusting his cap as his stand appeared behind him, invisible to Little Mac and presumably the creature.
Star Platinum proceeded to rapidly begin punching the monster, letting out a large battle cry as it did so.
"ORARARARARA... ORAAAAA!"
The monster silently collapsed, the spherical segments of its body all collapsing onto the sand as the head flew into the sky and out of sight.
Little Mac cheered. "Alright! Nice work."
"It didn't take that much strength to kill it, I imagine one strong punch from those gloves of yours would have caused it to topple over." Jotaro gave him a cold gaze before turning away. "I'm going to go look for the idol now, feel free to do so as well, but stay away from me. I don't want you trying to steal it from me."
The boxer sadly nodded. "Sure, but before you do that, be aware that I'm like, the best boxer in the world! I j-just didn't attack that prickly monster because I thought it would wreck my beautiful gloves-"
Whilst he was justifying his fear, Jotaro stopped him. "You don't have to explain it to me."
"Oh, okay, glad you get it," he smiled.
"It's not that I get it, I just don't want to hear it," he said, walking away without a second thought, leaving a miserable Little Mac to shuffle back to tribe.
As he left, Jotaro wandered over to where the monster's head had landed, and whilst it had poofed into thin air before he could inspect it, a little wooden figure was left behind.
"Hmm... looks like Alexa wanted someone to take out that creature," he said to himself, grabbing the idol and reading the tag attached to it:
*Congratulations on defeating the Pokey in Cacti Paradise! This is the Star Idol: it grants invincibility to the person you cast it upon in Tribal Council, including yourself!*
With an advantage in his clutches, Jotaro cracked a grin as he decided to spend an extra hour in the area before heading back to his tribe. This way, him arriving late wouldn't spike suspicion in Little Mac.
Koopa Sphinx: Day 5
Survivors: Tails - Engineer - Samus Aran.
Samus arrived at the Koopa Sphinx incredibly early, hoping that nobody would interrupt her during today's search like how Engineer, Tails, and Little Mac did a couple of days back.
With the whole area to herself, she searched around the rubble surrounding the Sphinx, on and around the Sphinx itself, and even in any nook and cranny that she could find.
After three whole hours of searching, even someone like her would begin to get exhausted in the heat, and with the last bit of energy she had left in her, she looked around the ancient architecture one last time.
Unfortunately, her search ended with no idol found, which definitely sparked suspicions towards Engineer, Little Mac, and Tails, those who had searched the same area before.
An hour after her departure, Engineer and Tails arrived, energized, and ready to find this hidden idol.
Similar to Samus, they searched everywhere, the only difference being that they were split up from one another. Tails spent most of his time searching the top of the Sphinx, which was hard to get to and thus a perfect spot for a reward, such as the idol they wanted. As for Engineer, someone who wasn't physically fit to climb a building in blistering heat, he searched the rubble and around the sides of the Koopa Sphinx, even attempting to enter at one point.
After two hours, both were decently exhausted and met up once again to go back.
"Hey Tails, I've been thinkin' about this, and you seem like a darn bright boy, especially for someone your age. Hell, I'd say your more mature and got more brains than a lot of the people I work with!" Engineer chuckled. "Anyway, I'll spare you the tension and I'll ask it now: how 'bout we form an alliance together?"
Without a second thought, the fox nodded. "Sure!"
"Well, that was a lot easier than I imagined," he smirked. "Looks like the deed's been done then! We're an alliance. Hopefully, you won't backstab me, but you don't look like the type to do that, thankfully."
"Don't worry, you can trust me!" Beamed Tails.
They shook hands before heading back to tribe, Tails being asked to run up ahead so they look more disconnected to the others...
