Challenge: Day 6
Survivors: Phoenix Wright - Papyrus - Luigi - Meta Knight - Little Mac - Princess Peach - Tails - Spy - Gordon Ramsay - Waluigi - Squidward Tentacles - Patrick Star - Kirby - King K. Rool - Engineer - ROB - Jotaro Kujo - Samus Aran.
"Aww man, I so can't wait for those guys to arrive!" Alexa wrung his hands maliciously. "Just wait until you see the looks on their faces when I show them this simple piece of paper!" He cackled.
Whilst slightly curious as to what he was on about, the two staff surrounding him gave a half-baked nod before getting back to setting up the third challenge.
After ten more minutes of giddy, excited waiting, Alexa's eyes substantially widened upon seeing Team Power Flowers arrive.
"Well, not the tribe that contains the person I'm after, but that just shows that Super Shrooms are bound to arrive soon!" He smirked.
"He's practically jumping up and down? What's got him so excited?" Meta Knight asked.
K Rool huffed. "Isn't it obvious? I bet he's made a particularly awful challenge for us, since the only thing that fuels that guy is sadism!"
"I wouldn't go that far," Peach said before rubbing her arm. "...But you are on the right track."
As they lined up, Alexa's eyes widened further when he saw the hazy distant figures of the Super Shrooms tribe approach from afar. Adrenaline was pumping throughout his entire body, he looked like he had won the lottery tenfold.
When the ten survivors arrived, they too picked up on Alexa's excited attitude, especially Squidward, still fuelled with rage towards the host.
"What's with the cockiness?" Asked Phoenix. "You look ready to explode."
"Explode? Well, if you're talking about me exploding with VICTORY then you're right!" He grinned, walking up to the tribe. "You see survivors, last challenge, Squidward told me that due to a hole in my contract, any injuries would result in a potential lawsuit and probably the show getting cancelled! Luckily for those who want to win this show, I got some special news."
Squidward smirked. "Oh really? I read it ten times over!"
"Then have a read at the very bottom, the writing's small, but readable," he retaliated, placing the sheet into the squid's grip.
He proceeded to read it to himself:
*Remember that signing this contract means you consent to the same things that the competitors in Season One consented to and experienced.*
"W-wha?!" Squidward gulped. "That's tiny writing!"
"But could you read it?" Asked Alexa.
Silence...
"Then the size of it doesn't matter! The point is, you all signed up to go through this torment, and it's for a million dollars, and there are nearby paramedics! It's all worth it," he explained. "Now, with that FINALLY out of the way, I can move on with the next challenge! Which coincidentally takes a break from the incredible adrenaline-pumping action that the first two challenges gave us. That's right, this challenge is going to be a test of knowledge, specifically judgement!"
Luigi raised an eyebrow, unsure of what Alexa meant by judgement. "Judgement?" He queried.
"Yes, judgement!" Nodded Alexa.
"I'm already tired of the word," confessed Samus under her breath.
With a small snigger, Alexa proceeded to explain the challenge in full:
*In this challenge, eight rounds will take place! In each round, one member of each tribe will step up and will both be shown a picture of a group of common Mushroom Kingdom objects for ten seconds. After these five seconds, the picture will be taken away, and both of them will make a guess on how many of the aforementioned objects were in the picture. Whoever gets the closest guess will win the round! The first one to shout out their guess will get dibs, meaning that the other person will not be able to make the same guess. Additionally, guessing the number of objects over the actual amount is more favoured than guessing the number of objects under the actual amount. For example, if Luigi guessed fifteen and Meta Knight guessed twenty-five on a picture that contained twenty objects, then Meta Knight would win the round, even if both of them were off by five.
The first tribe to get five wins will win the challenge and today's mystery prize. If both teams tie by the end of the eighth round, then one nominated individual from each team will compete in a tie-breaker round. That's simple enough, right?
In this challenge there is only one basic rule: do NOT give any help to the team members that are currently participating in a round, though cheering is obviously accepted.
Lastly, due to the current imbalance of tribes, Super Shrooms will be forced to have two members sit out for the entire challenge. These two members will be chosen by the team itself
Good luck!*
"Seems simple enough, I got some darn-good eyesight and memory to be reckoned with, so this should be an easy challenge for me," Engineer stuck his thumbs up. "Hopefully that'll be our third win!"
"Don't get too cocky there you cretin!" K Rool roared. "Even if you are as smart as you claim, your teammates look like a group of total misfits!"
"Rich coming from an unfit crocodile," replied Gordon with a flustered tone.
In response, the crocodile folded his arms. "Oh, making fun of my weight? If you were on my Isle, you'd be as cooked as the food you make, chef!" He growled.
Alexa broke up the tension surrounding both teams by moving on to the challenge. "Before we begin this challenge, I would like Super Shrooms to elect two people from their team to sit out for this challenge. You have a couple of minutes to decide: go!"
Upon receiving the cue, Super Shrooms huddled up...
"Haiii!" Kirby proclaimed.
"You want to sit out?" Guessed Waluigi. "Fine by-a me!"
In response, the little pink ball shook his head vividly.
"You, participating?" Tested Little Mac. "You can't even speak proper English!"
Upon hearing the argument, Kirby challenged the boxer by counting upwards in greatly broken English. "Waaaahn! Twoooooo! Threeee! Faaaawr! Faiiive!"
"Okay okay, I get it. As long as you can actually say the numbers, I guess there'd be no problems with keeping you," Little Mac nodded.
Gordon rubbed his chin. "Does anyone want to sit out? We only have around a minute left."
"I would definitely want to sit out, but after two challenges of doing *CENSORED*-all, I think it's time I show the people I'm working with that I'm more than the person who preps the food for everyone on the tribe." - Gordon Ramsay.
After a long, annoying silence, Waluigi eventually gave in and raised his hand. "Counting is-a boring anyway, I'll sit out!" He announced.
"Goodie, just one more," Gordon said, gazing at the others.
Eventually, Little Mac groaned. "D'oh, fine! If nobody else is going to give up that spot then I will."
"Wow... you can tell a team has good morale if they all hate the idea of sitting out." Peach observed.
Alexa then asked for Super Shrooms' final answer. "Do you have your two picks?"
Gordon nodded. "Yes. Waluigi and Little Mac will be sitting out."
"Alrighty then!" He acknowledged. "Before I give out the placements for each round, I just want to announce that, last Tribal Council, Super Macho Man had been eliminated at a 6-2 vote! I almost forgot to tell you, but it looks like you already assumed so judging from his absence."
With the news out of the way, Alexa proceeded to call out the placements:
ROUND 1 - Phoenix Wright vs Papyrus
ROUND 2 - Luigi vs Meta Knight
ROUND 3 - Tails vs Princess Peach
ROUND 4 - Gordon Ramsay vs Spy
ROUND 5 - Squidward Tentacles vs Patrick Star
ROUND 6 - Kirby vs King K. Rool
ROUND 7 - Engineer vs ROB
ROUND 8 - Jotaro Kujo vs Samus Aran
"Gawh?! Versus a robot?" Engineer gulped.
"Don't worry, my ability to process information is much slower than modern robots, though it's still said to be twice as fast and three times as accurate when compared the average human," ROB bleeped, turning its head slightly. "You have a slight fighting chance!"
"The word 'slight' undersells how screwed he is," thought Phoenix.
Alexa then started the challenge. "Alright, let's begin with the first round!"
ROUND 1 - PHOENIX WRIGHT VS PAPYRUS
The two quickly left their groups and walked over to Alexa, an almost comically large picture frame in his hands, though it was facing away from the duo.
"Remember, you cannot change your answer, ask for another look, nor can you have the same pick as whoever answers first," Alexa recapped. "Now, without further ado, ready yourselves, I'm about to show it!"
As the two braced themselves, Papyrus gave a wave to Phoenix. "GOOD LUCK, ATTORNEY!"
"You too," he smiled before focusing.
Alexa quickly spun the frame around, revealing an image featuring several red and green mushrooms on an open, grassy field with hills and rocks in the background. "Count the red mushrooms!"
Papyrus squinted his eyes and concentrated hard, glancing at each individual red mushroom before moving onto the next. Phoenix, on the other hand, quickly gazed around the entire picture before counting the mushrooms bit by bit.
Despite both methods, neither of them came close to fully counting the mushrooms by the time the ten seconds had passed, and Alexa quickly spun the picture back around.
"Alright! I'm ready to hear your guess," Alexa said.
Before Phoenix could utter any words, Papyrus quickly blurted out his answer of "EIGHTEEN!"
"Okay then, Phoenix is no longer able to guess the number eighteen for his answer!" He announced.
The lawyer gave it a little more thought before...
*TAKE THAT!*
"My guess is twenty-seven," said Phoenix.
Upon collecting both answers, Alexa revealed the winner. "The amount of red mushrooms in the picture is... thirty-one!"
"How did he get such a terrible guess?!" K Rool gasped. "Come on, we can't have ANOTHER loss!"
Whilst Power Flowers were upset, Phoenix was cheering, he had won the first round for Super Shrooms.
ROUND 2 - LUIGI VS META KNIGHT
As Luigi stumbled over and next to Meta Knight, he realized how hard he would have to try if he wanted to beat someone as competent as him. Luckily, he had the upper hand, as he would likely recognize the scenery and objects presented in the picture.
"G-good luck!" Luigi said with a mild quiver, attempting to recreate the humble interaction between Papyrus and Phoenix in the last round.
Instead, he was given a silence as Meta Knight continued to focus, tuning out Luigi's words as if it was white noise.
Alexa grabbed the next picture and obscured it from them, ready to flip it around.
After five seconds of anticipating, he finally turned it around, revealing an image featuring the same red and green mushrooms before, this time they were surrounded by koopas and goombas in a mountainous environment. "Count the green mushrooms!"
Immediately, Meta Knight began counting the mushrooms in pairs at an impossibly fast speed, which put Luigi's speed counting to shame.
When the ten minutes ended, Alexa spun the frame back around. "Alright! Let's hear your guesse-"
"Twenty-one," interrupted Meta Knight.
"Nineteen," Luigi responded right after.
Alexa revealed the answer. "The number of green mushrooms in the picture is... twenty-one!"
The green plumber gulped as Meta Knight took in his victory with a nod before spinning around and marching back to his team.
This time, the roles had reversed, with Super Shrooms in despair as Power Flowers were cheering and congratulating Meta Knight. They were now neck-and-neck with one win each.
ROUND 3 - TAILS VS PRINCESS PEACH
Tails flew over to Alexa first as Peach slowly followed. Much like Luigi, she knew the objects well, so she was at a slight advantage, but she definitely couldn't underestimate the likes of the fox she was competing against.
"Well, here's to the best counter!" Tails held his hand out.
Peach gave a gentle beam as she shook the fox's hand, turning back to face Alexa, who was holding the third picture.
Right after they got into focus, Alexa spun around the picture to reveal fire flowers, stars, goombas and red mushrooms all scattered around a snowy environment, mounds and little pellets of snow made focusing on what was on the image a lot harder. "Count the fire flowers!"
"He means those red and orange plants, right?" Tails thought to himself immediately before counting as fast and as accurately as he could?
Peach took a slightly more laidback approach to it, relying a little more on looking at the bigger picture without counting each individual fire flower on there. This was a more risky yet more rewarding approach.
Right before Tails could finish counting each one, Alexa interrupted the two by spinning the picture back around, leaving the fox to assume the number of fire flowers he hadn't counted.
"What are your guesses?" Asked Alexa.
Tails managed to pipe up first. "Twenty-two!"
"That was my guess..." Peach said under her breath before speaking up for her answer. "My guess is going to be twenty-three."
Alexa looked back at the picture and gave them their answer. "The number of fire flowers in the picture is... twenty-one!"
"Yes, I got the closest!" Tails cheered.
"Well don't that beat all!" Engineer grinned with gratitude.
"Well played," nodded Peach. "I was going to guess twenty-two as well."
With Super Shrooms now ahead by one win, Power Flowers were once again feeling tense and desperate for victory.
ROUND 4 - GORDON RAMSAY VS SPY
Spy slowly yet menacingly approached Alexa, standing up straight next to Gordon, awaiting Alexa to show him the picture.
"You know, considering the only Scottish person I know well is a drunken cyclops of a failure, you don't look half-bad," Spy admitted.
"I'll be sure to take that as a compliment," stated Gordon.
"Sure, but just know that it's not exactly the biggest hurdle to overcome." He gave a cheeky smirk.
Engineer shook his head with distaste as Alexa flipped the picture, revealing stacks upon stacks of coins on a golden field with several goombas and koopas roaming around. "Count the coins!"
"Bloody Hell, there are nearly a hundred of them," Gordon thought, sweating. "How am I supposed to get an accurate answer on this? They're even in stacks for Christ sake!"
As the chef counted to the best of his ability, Spy did a similar strategy to Peach due to the sheer quantity of coins. He knew there were a little over one-hundred of them.
When Alexa flipped the picture back, Spy was surprised to have the off-guard Gordon give out the first answer.
"One-hundred and fifteen!" He guessed proudly, though on the inside he was merely making up the number.
"Not too far off from my answer of one-hundred and ten," admitted Spy, giving a cocky grin.
"I don't like that grin... and I don't like how he called it an answer, and not a guess..." - Gordon Ramsay.
Alexa proceeded to give out the answer. "The number of coins in the picture is... one-hundred and twelve!"
"Bloody Hell," Gordon cursed himself with disappointment. "Barely off, that's dreadful."
With both teams once again tied in terms of wins, the growing tension that loomed over the challenge grew bigger and bigger...
ROUND 5 - SQUIDWARD TENTACLES VS PATRICK STAR
As Squidward awkwardly walked up to Alexa, still upset and embarrassed over being made a fool of, he then groaned upon realizing that his foe was none other than one of his annoying neighbours: Patrick Star.
The starfish slowly stumbled over, tired without much concentration or determination to win the challenge. It looked like he had gotten no sleep, but with ten full hours last night, his drowsiness made less sense.
Suddenly, Patrick noticed Squidward's presence. "Oh, hey Squidward! I didn't know you were in this show."
"How did you not know?! You saw me several times!" The squid asked. "You know what, forget it."
Alexa concluded their interaction by showing them the picture, showing an underwater photo filled with four different types of fish: one was red; one was green; one was yellow, and one was purple with spikes along the top of it. "Count the Spiney Cheep Cheeps, AKA the purple fish!"
Patrick gave a numb gaze at the picture as Squidward counted as best he could, though a lot of the scenery on the picture was hazy due to the underwater setting, as well as numerous bubbles and purple jagged rocks that blocked some of the fish he was trying to count.
Soon, the picture was turned back, and the marine animal was proud to have a good guess with his answer. "Well, being someone from the aquatic region, this was probably the easiest picture you could have given me! My guess is seventeen."
As the host acknowledged and wrote down his answer, he stared at Patrick for a cue.
No response.
"Well, Patrick?" He asked.
"It was a nice picture!" Patrick gave a dumb yet wholesome smile, causing some of his teammates to cover their faces with their hands. "Wait, do I have to rate it out of twenty like how Squidward did? Well, I think it was a twenty out of twenty!"
Alexa sighed. "You aren't supposed to rate it out of twenty, but considering you didn't bother to listen to the instructions, I'll take your guess regardless. The number of Spiney Cheep Cheeps in the image is... t-t-twenty?!"
Everyone in the dunes had their jaws drop, it was a miracle to Patrick's team, though the worst stroke of luck to Squidward's team.
"HOW?!" Squidward stomped his tentacles. "I ACTUALLY COUNTED AND HE GOT IT?!"
"L-let's just move on," said Alexa.
"What?" Asked Patrick, confused over everyone's faces. "I won, right?"
Patrick was right, he somehow did win, which caused Power Flowers to be ahead of Super Shrooms by one win once again, would the scores be even once more, or would they extend their lead by another win?
ROUND 6 - KIRBY VS KING K. ROOL
Kirby happily waltzed up to Alexa. In contrast, K Rool menacingly stomped up to the host, readying his own eyes so he could see with peak accuracy, the crocodile did NOT want to lose his lead.
With no interactions between the two, Alexa got on with the challenge by flipping the picture, revealing a dark, gloomy, underground area filled with weird red plants with sharp teeth, blue Goombas that blended in with the blue rock of the underground and a few moles running around in the background. "Count the Goombas, the blue guys that resemble mushrooms!"
Suddenly, Kirby's ditzy smile turned into a focused frown as he began rapidly counting the Goombas, glaring a little bit for concentration. K Rool was in a similar stance, bending over so his eyes were level with the picture, though the sunlight made things a chore for the both of them.
When the picture turned away, Kirby was the first one to give out an answer, much to K Rool's surprise.
"Threeeee..."
"Threee!"
"Thirty three?" Queried Alexa.
Kirby nodded in response.
"Alright, and as for you, K Rool?" He asked.
The crocodile blurted out his guess. "Thirty-seven!"
Alexa looked at the picture upon receiving his answers. "The number of Goombas in the picture is... thirty-four!"
"RATS!" K Rool bellowed with anger. "Beaten by some inoffensive marshmallow of all things. What an insult..."
"Poyo!" Kirby cheered for himself, doing a little victory dance in celebration.
Once again, they faced a tie. These last two rounds will either result in a victory or the aforementioned tiebreaker. Super Shrooms preferred to win without having to resort to the tiebreaker.
ROUND 7 - ENGINEER VS ROB
Both drifted towards Alexa, ready to count whatever would be in the picture next. Enginner was particularly worried, he knew how hard ROB would be to best, meaning that he would have to give out the exact correct answer before ROB could.
"Good luck," beeped ROB.
"Y-yeah, good luck to you too, robot," he replied.
Alexa turned over the picture, showing a high-up region filled with clouds and cliffs, numerous Koopas and Goombas with wings were present, as well as black fuzzy creatures that were attached to some sort of track-formation. "Count the fuzzies, the black fuzzy things!"
Engineer counted them as quickly as he could, relying on his eyes, as he wouldn't be able to double-check. ROB simply stood as still as usual, taking in all of the data at an alarming rate.
When Alexa flipped the picture, Engineer managed to squeeze out his answer first.
"TWENTY-NINE!" He yelled, before getting in a sigh of relief.
"He got the guess in before ROB!" Tails cheered.
As for ROB, he immediately followed the Texan with its own guess. "Thirty."
Engineer's stomach dropped, ROB didn't seem to show much hassle over him guessing first. Did he miss one of the fuzzies? Maybe he didn't check the background hard enough?"
Alexa revealed the gut-wrenching answer. "The number of fuzzies present in this picture is... thirty!"
"Darn!" Cussed the Engineer. "I knew I missed one... well played ROB."
"No, you almost bested a computer that is over twice as fast and accurate as a regular human being, I think you are the one that deserves a "well played"," admitted ROB.
"Damn right I do!" He laughed.
ROUND 8 - JOTARO KUJO VS SAMUS ARAN
With Power Flowers, as usual, in the lead by one win, Super Shrooms just need Jotaro to win this round in order to save their skin, otherwise, there will be no tiebreaker, and Power Flowers will win the challenge.
Jotaro and Samus casually strode up to Alexa, both determined yet laidback, as trying too hard is only going to hinder their ability.
They showed no acknowledgement over one another.
Alexa proceeded to show them the final picture, an image featuring Princess Peach's castle, with several toads in multiple colours cheering and dancing. "Count the yellow toads, those mushroom guys!"
Samus glared slightly, tuning out all other colours of toad and leaving the yellow ones, there were a lot, so she had to risk her accuracy a little bit.
Jotaro did an identical strategy, though there was a slight difference in that his counting was slightly slower in order to make his accuracy a lot better. He couldn't count the same thing twice, it would mess him up.
When they were finished, Alexa flipped the picture over, and Jotaro gave out his answer first.
"Forty-three," answered Jotaro, confident that he got the exact number.
"Good, he didn't steal my guess," Samus thought to herself before giving out her own guess. "Forty-five."
Alexa wrote down the answers and gulped to himself. "Well then, looks like we have a winner for this last round."
Those words only made the situation more intense, would it go to tie, or would Power Flowers win their first challenge?
"The number of yellow toads in the picture is..." Alexa held his breath.
"..."
"..."
"...FORTY-FOUR!" He revealed. "Both of you were off by one, but considering having it OVER the actual amount is more favoured, Samus Aran wins this round, and THUS POWER FLOWERS WINS THEIR FIRST CHALLENGE!"
Jotaro gritted his teeth with defeat; Samus simply gave a large sigh of relief.
Power Flowers were cheering wildly, throwing their hands into the air, laughing from the release of tension, some even hugged the others out of excitement. In heavy contrast, Super Shrooms were silent yet distraught over experiencing their first Tribal Council of the show.
"Now that's what I call a good game! It was tense from the get-go, but alas, Power Flowers finally redeemed themselves!" Alexa applauded. "Now, first thing's first, let's get the reward out of the way. Or should I say... rewards?"
"Wait, we got multiple rewards?!" K Rool's tongue hung from his mouth like an excited dog. "We've really hit a bounty! No wonder they call you a bounty hunter, Samus!"
She gave a little chuckle from the lame joke but decided to accept the compliment with open arms anyway. "Thanks a lot."
"WOAH! I DON'T THINK SAMUS EVER GAVE A "THANK YOU" BEFORE. THIS IS... THIS IS UNEXPECTED!" - Papyrus.
Alexa snapped his fingers, and numerous members of staff brought out three rewards.
The first reward was a pile of green cloth and some beams, it took some analyzing before they realized it was their very own shelter.
The second reward was a battery-powered fan. "This bad boy has a twenty-four-hour lifespan! Though, whenever it runs out of battery, someone will be sent over to change the batteries!"
Lastly, the third reward was a sturdy table, and whilst it was the weakest of the three, it was a very welcomed addition to their tribe. "Due to its large size, it'll have to be delivered to your tribe via jeep, as it's too big to fit in the pipe."
Meta Knight grinned. "Three prizes? That's more than generous for a show such as this."
"It sure is! I personally think I outdid myself, but consider the extra prizes to be a reward for climbing out of that pit of losing challenge after challenge," Alexa joked. "Now, before you set all of your rewards up, you must send one person from Super Shrooms to the Exile Oasis! Remember that they haven't lost a challenge yet, so you can pick any of them to go!"
They all huddled up, thinking of who to eliminate.
"I think we should go for Waluigi," said Meta Knight. "He appears to be a weak link, and he didn't participate in the last challenge, either."
"GOOD THINKING! WALUIGI IS A GREAT PICK!" Papyrus agreed. "LET'S GO TELL ALEXA!"
"Well, since you yelled it too loud, I kinda caught wind of who you were picking..." Alexa said. "Waluigi, you have been chosen to go to the Exile Oasis!"
Waluigi wrung his hands happily. "Oh yeah! See you all later, suckers! WAAHAHAHAHA!"
"Rude..." Phoenix said under his breath.
"Aw barnacles! He was my pick for elimination, now who am I going to go for?" - Squidward Tentacles.
"As for the rest of you, please go back to the tribe using the warp pipes. Power Flowers, you can have your first good even night, whilst Super Shrooms will be having their first dreadful even night, see you later, survivors!" Alexa waved, before disappearing into his jeep and riding off.
Super Shrooms: Day 6
Survivors: Phoenix Wright - Luigi - Little Mac - Tails - Gordon Ramsay - Squidward Tentacles - Kirby - Engineer - Jotaro Kujo.
Facing their first defeat of the show was not easy to take in. The past two challenges had resulted in a win for the ten survivors, they had gotten shade from the sunlight, and then they received a large feast a couple of days later. Needless to say, having their third challenge result in the prize of elimination sucked.
The nine survivors (barring the exiled Waluigi) split up into three different groups, scattered around the tribe:
- Tails, Engineer, and Little Mac formed the first group.
- Gordon, Kirby, and Luigi formed the second group.
- Jotaro, Phoenix and Squidward formed the third group.
"So, who's getting voted? I probably would've gone for Waluigi, but he's in that Exile Oasis place," Little Mac reminded. "So we can't do him."
Engineer chuckled to himself. "Never thought I'd get so stumped so easily, and on our first night of elimination!"
"I think I have an idea of who to vote," Tails revealed.
"Go on then," Little Mac beckoned.
The fox looked around to check if anyone was eavesdropping, then for extra security, he huddled up with the two and whispered it quietly into their ears.
"Him?" Asked the boxer. "I mean, I don't really care too much about them, so I'm not arguing."
Whilst Little Mac was quick to agree, Engineer had his suspicions, even if he was on his alliance. "Now come on, I wanna hear some reasons why."
In order to try and convince them, Tails leaned over again, doing the same left-to-right gaze to see if anyone was peeking, and whispered into their ears.
"Well... I dunno, those are good points bu-" Engineer was interrupted by Little Mac.
"Come on!" He groaned. "Who else are you going to vote for? There are no good picks in a team full of tolerable, decent people. Sometimes I wish we had more idiots on this team, that way it wouldn't be a bummer to eliminate them. Looks like Power Flowers got the bulk of them, and they've eliminated the two of them."
"To add on to what I said, I'm glad I'll never have to face Johnny and Macho Man. Johnny's just the worst, and Macho Man more than has it out for me since I prevented him from stealing my title in boxing." - Little Mac.
Engineer sighed. "Alrighty then. They are a weak link, and it's better to vote a weak link than someone who can potentially carry us in a challenge, like Jotaro."
As the first group came to their bitter conclusion, the second group had a similar minor struggle on coming to an agreement.
"So, who are we-a picking?" Asked Luigi.
"Poyo!" Agreed Kirby.
Gordon rubbed his chin before leaning forward. "Alright, neither of you may like this proposal, but as you know, Jotaro is one of our most vital assets."
"Oh boy..." The plumber gulped with anticipation.
"But the fact that he's so good at the challenges is the reason why he has to go. None of us will ever one-up him otherwise. I've seen this happen before, because I've participated in this show last season," he explained. "That's why you should trust me on this one."
Luigi shook his head. "But if he-a leaves, then how are we supposed to win any of-a the challenges? Then we'll lose more members day by-a day!"
He nodded. "I know, I know. Though just because he's one of our best assets, doesn't mean we're nothing without him. I know we all got what it takes to keep our wins going, we'll just have to up the effort from now on."
Whilst Kirby was incapable of arguing for either side, the puffball's face clearly displayed sadness.
"...I guess we-a got no choice, either of-a those groups could be targeting us," Luigi warned. "We gotta agree on something, right?"
"Poyo poyo..." Sighed Kirby, giving a nod.
Gordon clasped his hands. "Good! Trust me, this won't end shoddily for any of us three, I know that much."
"I was beyond outmatched last game, to the point where I only got as far as I did because everyone before me either got unlucky or was stupid. I have to bring out the big guns this time, and take risks, because even though I got to the Merge last game, that didn't leave me quite satisfied enough to just pack up my bags and leave." - Gordon Ramsay.
Finally, the third group also had a slightly rough time picking who to eliminate.
"Ugh, something tells me that these days are going to be rock bottom for me," Phoenix admitted.
"Are you struggling to find someone to eliminate?" Asked Jotaro.
Squidward raised an eyebrow. "That's odd. You're a lawyer, aren't you? You should be used to heartless decisions!"
"Wow, way to bundle us all into one package there, Squidward..." Angrily thought Phoenix before moving on.
With no response to his remark, Squidward decided to take matters into his own hands. "I think we should vote Little Mac. After all, he didn't participate in the last challenge alongside Waluigi, and we can't vote for Waluigi! Therefore, by process of elimination, he's the most sensible choice. Besides, he hasn't done well in many challenges either, the first challenge he did resulted in him doing pretty mediocre."
"If he goes off, I'll get my sweet revenge! Last season, he managed to blindside Reigen and I by voting alongside Captain Falcon, and it caused me to be eliminated! Now it's his turn to get randomly voted off, hahaha!" - Squidward Tentacles.
"That's true," said Phoenix. "Maybe it's best we do vote for him."
Jotaro nodded. "I don't mind who goes off, not yet at least."
"How mysterious..." Mocked Squidward. "Anyway, should we get going to Tribal Council?"
Phoenix nodded. "It's best that we do. Look, I can see the others beginning to set off."
In a slight hurry, they all stood up and began walking over to the others, joining them in travelling to Tribal Council.
Koopa Sphinx: Night 6
Survivors: Phoenix Wright - Luigi - Little Mac - Tails - Gordon Ramsay - Squidward Tentacles - Kirby - Engineer - Jotaro Kujo.
By time they got there, darkness took over the sky, leaving it navy in colour. The Koopa Sphinx was luckily lit up, making it easy for the survivors to navigate to it.
"Jeeeesus, what an ominous building..." Gordon gazed at the lit structure.
"So... is this where Tribal Council happens?" Asked Phoenix.
"I don't see any benches or host," said Little Mac. "Maybe it's around here?"
Squidward rolled his eyes. "How about you go up to the front of it and see if there's a door?"
"O-oh right, I remember seeing a blocked off door, maybe it's open," he questioned, walking over to the front of the Sphinx and checking. "Bingo! I see no door! This way, guys!"
With his whole team following, Little Mac went down the small, dark corridor of the Koopa Sphinx...
Tribal Council: Night 6
Survivors: Phoenix Wright - Luigi - Little Mac - Tails - Gordon Ramsay - Squidward Tentacles - Kirby - Engineer - Jotaro Kujo.
Their first impressions of the inside of the Koopa Sphinx was more or less the same as Power Flowers' reaction. They took in the tense, gritty environment, staring at the made-up symbols on the walls, the frames of all eighteen remaining survivors at the back, the stone benches, and the Egyptian-dressed Alexa patiently waiting at his table.
"Welcome, survivors! A few minutes later than the usual for Power Flowers, but I won't hold it against you, you probably didn't know how to access this place at first," he chuckled. "Though I probably should have checked the cameras."
Luigi folded his arms. "You have-a cameras?"
"That's a surprise to you? You're being recorded by several men holding them as we speak," Phoenix reminded.
"I guess." He shrank into his seat upon realizing the idiocy of his shock.
Alexa proceeded to stand up. "Now, you haven't done a Tribal Council this season yet, which I want to stress is a really impressive start! Though this show has a lot of momentum involved, one loss can trigger another loss which can trigger ANOTHER loss and so on. Now, as I do with Power Flowers, I'll ask three questions to you people."
"Sounds simple enough," thought Phoenix.
As he thought that, the host decided to ask Phoenix the first question. "Mr Wright, as I just mentioned, you all experienced your first loss in the show. What caused this loss, do you think?"
His face went completely blank, he had no idea what to say or how to say it.
Eventually, Alexa began to see that something was wrong. "Nervous? C'mon, I'm sure they won't vote off someone who helped score a win last challenge for speaking his mind."
With a little bit of weight lifted off his chest from the reassurance, he found the words for his answer. "Well, considering the first two challenges we won were mostly physical challenges, I guess our team just doesn't do that well in challenges that require counting and guessing. Maybe we just got unlucky, I don't know for certainty."
"Understandable, but that's a decent guess," nodded Alexa. "Now, Engineer, I asked a similar question to Power Flowers last time, but do you find this team tolerable?"
"Heck yeah!" He nodded. "Everyone here's pleasant to be around. There ain't a single person here that I hate or dislike, that's why finding someone to vote off was damn difficult."
"Suckup..." Squidward huffed under his breath.
"To add on to that, is there anyone else that particularly stands out from the crowd?" He asked.
Engineer chuckled. "To prevent anyone from getting their feelings hurt, I won't say."
"Is that your personal way of dodging the question?" Asked Alexa with a smug grin.
In retaliation, the Texan put on an identical smug grin. "Maybe, but either way I ain't budgin' on that one."
"I wonder why Engineer's avoiding that question. It makes me a little suspicious..." - Phoenix Wright.
Alexa decided to move on to the third and final question. "Jotaro, if you had to put your chances of getting eliminated today on a percentage, what would it be?"
"I'd say five to fifteen percent," he said. "Not enough for me to get worried."
"The fact you'd say that in public with that tone of voice is... so oddly brave!" Alexa's eyes widened. "I'd be worried if my percentage was over zero... anyway, let's get down to the votes! Remember that you cannot vote for Waluigi as he is in exile. With that out the way, please go down the left pathway to vote," said Alexa. "Because it's time to cast 'em!"
Tails: Out of everyone else, you seem like the most reasonable choice, but do know that I have nothing against you. (?)
Gordon Ramsay: The biggest threat has to go early, otherwise we'll all be suffering later on, especially me. (Jotaro Kujo)
Squidward Tentacles: You've done nothing so far, and I'll also be getting the secret advantage of eliminating the person who backstabbed me last season! (Little Mac)
Engineer: Aww Hell, it's even harder to do when I got the pen in my hand. Nothin' against ya, but this is how it goes sometimes. (?)
Kirby: Poyo... Poyo Poyo Poyo! Poyopoyo! Aaaai! (Jotaro Kujo)
Phoenix Wright: It's weird how Squidward of all people is saying you didn't do much when he's done nothing, but I can't risk voting for someone else when I could be a target. (Little Mac)
"Survivors, I shall now read out the votes!" Alexa announced. "Also, I nearly forgot, but if anyone wants to use an idol, now is the time."
Jotaro decided to risk his chances by not using his, leaving a large, ten-second long silence in the room.
"Very well!" The host acknowledged the quiet. "Let's begin!"
*VOTING TIME*
First vote goes to Little Mac. One vote Little Mac. (Little Mac raises an eyebrow.)
Second vote goes to Jotaro Kujo. One vote Jotaro, one vote Little Mac. (Jotaro tuts.)
Third vote goes to Little Mac. Two votes Little Mac, one vote Jotaro.
Fourth vote goes to Little Mac. That's three votes Little Mac, one vote Jotaro. (Little Mac begins sweating nervously "Come on... I got this...")
Fifth vote goes to Jotaro Kujo. Two votes Jotaro, three votes Little Mac.
Sixth vote also goes to Jotaro Kujo. That's three votes Jotaro and Little Mac. (Jotaro grits his teeth.)
Seventh vote goes to Squidward Tentacles. One vote Squidward, three votes Jotaro and three votes Little Mac. (Squidward folds his arms.)
Eighth vote goes to Squidward Tentacles. Two votes Squidward, three votes Jotaro and three votes Little Mac.
"And the final vote goes to... Squidward Tentacles!" Alexa revealed. "A three-way tie, huh?"
"N-not a tie!" Little Mac cried. "I guess it's better than elimination..."
"Considering you all got a tie, we'll have to do a second vote, albeit Little Mac, Jotaro and Squidward are all unable to vote. We will begin this second vote immediately," revealed Alexa. "If another tie happens, then rocks will have to be drawn."
"R-rocks..." Gordon bit his lip.
"Now, survivors, cast your votes once more!" Alexa repeated.
Anonymously, each survivor proceeded to cast their votes again, who they picked in this second vote is entirely unknown to everyone except them.
This time, instead of reading each vote aloud, Alexa took each vote out and read them one by one, gazing at the three vulnerable survivors as he did so.
After this was done, his steely gaze met every survivor in the room. "A decision has luckily been made, no rocks are required. At a very unlucky 6-0-0 vote, the third eliminated survivor in Survivor Crossover: Dry Dry Desert is..."
Silence...
Alexa proceeded to open his mouth, though no words came out in order to tease the survivors.
Gordon grew impatient, "just say i-"
"Squidward Tentacles!" Alexa revealed. "Unfortunately for you, your time is up."
Squidward froze in place, he was beyond shocked. Not only did all of his votes come in last second on the first round of voting, but the second round of voting resulted in his elimination. "N-NOO!"
"What an unlucky day," he smirked. "You lost, you got eliminated, and you're unable to sue me. See you around, Squiddy. Oh, and as I torch this picture of your face to confirm your elimination, please say any last words that you may have."
He walked towards the exit as he heard the painful hissing of his picture being torched, turned around, gave a deep sigh, and said: "Guess that was short-lived..." before leaving.
"Squidward might have had some strength and brains, but I believe his cynicism and average physique resulted in him being everyone's "obvious" target, which is the only explanation for him being voted for by everyone in the second vote. Goodnight survivors, and let's hope you aren't screwed over by the momentum!" Alexa waved goodbye.
Squidward's Last Words: "Well that went a lot worse than I could have imagined. I went from barely missing the mark of the Merge to being eliminated third. Maybe I'm not cut out to do well in life, after all, everyone rejects my masterful art and music, so I'm just destined to work in the same old run-down restaurant that's somehow famous."
