Episode Name: From the Deep
Episode Summary: Kaz and Sarah are on a scan quest in an icy Underworld location called Ice Pillar. They don't know what they might find, but Kaz has heard a rumor that the Underworlders found something inside Ice Pillar. They see two Underworlders, Khybon and Jiggorex, extract an odd creature from the ice and use mugix to help heal him. He tells them his name is Phelphor. Kaz and Sarah quickly scan him and then port back to Chaotic. They meet up with Tom and Peyton and tell them about what they saw. Kaz takes Peyton to Chaor's castle so he can scan the new creature. They find Phelphor talking to Chaor, Takinom, and Agitos. They stay hidden to listen in on the meeting. Phelphor tells the story of how he got trapped inside the ice and then reveals the shocking truth about the Doors of the Deep Minds. Meanwhile Sarah and Tom test out Sarah's new scan in a beta drome and they find out Phelphor has weird abilities.

Notes: So this is the first episode that starts off the M'arrillian war arc. It's a two-parter so next episode the Underworlders decided what to do with Phelphor. This is one of the episodes where I think they could have not involved the humans because they really didn't do anything that changed the outcome. The episode might have been better if they showed less of the humans and more of the creatures in my opinion.
There's a chase scene when Kaz and Peyton are in Chaor's castle and it seems to be a parody of Scooby-Doo's chase scenes. Didn't notices the similarities when I was a kid but now I feel stupid not having relieved it first time I watched the episode. I was really into Scooby-Doo when I was a kid so it makes it a bit more embarrassing that I didn't see it right away.
