Episode Name: "Blight Fight"
Episode Summary: Tom is researching ways to destroy a monstrous disease that is destroying Prexxor Chasm and killing the creatures who live there. But everything he tries does nothing to that large monster. Peyton suggest that Tom ask the help of a Caretaker. In Perim, a Caretaker is a creature who is tasked with watching over a location and protecting it from harm. Peyton knows one Caretaker named Garv. The location Garv takes care of is Lake Morn so Tom and his friends port there. They find Garv, who after listing to Tom agrees to help, but first Tom needs to retrieve a sample of the disease so Garv can experiment with it to find a "cure." With the help of Smildon, Tom was able to get a sample and bring it back to Garv. After many failed attempts, Garv was able to create a liquid that would destroy the blight. Tom ports back to Prexxor Chasm with a spear that is filled with the liquid. He meets Smildon again and together they defeat the blight.
Season 2, Episode 15
With no Caretaker
The Blight will wreck everything
So Tom volunteers.
Notes: Apparently, Chaotic is so big that the players need some kind of transit system to get around. At the beginning of the episode Tom hops on what looks like a cable car or a commuter rail. I don't know what the right terminology would be for it since my area does not have a transit system. I'm not sure if this cable car was shown in other episodes but I think this is the only time the main characters use it. Might be wrong about that though.
Since C-19 is still spreading, I couldn't help but think about it while re-watching the episode since the monster is described as a disease instead of a creature. Which makes sense because if it were a creature then it shouldn't show up in the dromes. But based on the episode's name, its a disease that mostly affects plants rather than people. Though it also goes after creatures and humans, so I don't know if calling it a blight is correct.
This episode might have a message of how taking care of the environment is important because if we don't do that then the consequences will be devastating. Don't know if that's what the writers were going for, but that's what I got out of it and so I wrote the haiku based around that idea.
Question: Do you think every Overworld location has a Caretaker? Prexxor Chasm seems to not belong to any Tribe so that might be why it did not have a Caretaker. Also, it seems other Tribes do not have Caretakers since I can only find Overworld creatures with that title.
