Chapter 42: Demon Cat

All this time Yoruichi remained quiet as she sat on Shiro's shoulder before the silver haired boy had handed her over over to Orihime. The large breasted girl held the cat woman against her chest as everyone tried to decide what they were going to do. With Aizen now on the run with Ichimaru, it was only a matter of time before somebody found them. Wiggling out of the young teen girl's arms, Yoruichi ran over towards Isshin when the tiles below their feet moved, revealing Hanataru and Isane. The former captain of the tenth and Unohana both help the two Lieutenants out of the sewer tunnels.

Hanataru began to tell his captain what had happened, even as Isshin was healing his minor wounds. Unohana listened to his story as she healed Isane's arm. As he told them about how Captain Aizen and Ichimaru had attacked them, Yoruichi couldn't help but be impressed how Hanataru had gotten them both to safty. Smart. She thought as she sat there listening to him.

"He's close then." Byakuya's voice surprised he causing Yoruichi's hair to stick up slightly. She hoped nobody had noticed that she'd been surprised.

He's gotten better at hiding his energy. She thought with some pride.

"I would have thought he would run." Ukitake stated with some surprise in his voice.

He's up to something. She thought. But what could be be waiting for? She turned her head towards the twins. Could be want the kids to come after him so that he can expose them to his sword? She frowned. No. It's got to be something else.

Looking up she watched Byakuya raise his reiatsu, calling forth a hell butterfly and speak when one rested on his finger. "Captain Soi Fon, the Ryoka are no longer a priority, but considered temporary allies. Captain Aizen is heading towards the eleventh. He is considered dangerous. Do not engage in battle with him or Ichimaru. Report his status and location only." The hell butterfly flew off towards the Captain of squad two's location.

Yoruichi quickly followed it.

Byakuya watched the black cat take off after the hell butterfly. It wasn't like there weren't animals in Soul Society, but there was something different about that particular cat. It's eyes reminded him of his old mentor, annoying demon woman, Yoruichi Shihoin. He wondered...

Shaking those thoughts away, Byakuya turned to head towards the sixth to gather his men in case there was a fight. Passing the ryoka, he heard the one boy say something about having his bankai. Impossible! There was a difference in reiatsu when somebody gained the bankai. The orange haired boy, felt like he was just above Abarai's level, but definitely below any of the captains. He eyed the other boy, Shiro; he'd heard his sister call him. That boy felt like he was at a captain's level. He had brute strength, from what he recalled from their encounter. He had yet to see the boy draw his zanpakuto though.

Shiro looked at Ichigo as he told Rukia how Urahara had trained them. How Shiro had helped him find his bankai after Urahara helped him reach shikai. "Idiot!" she yelled at Ichigo. "Nobody can reach both shikai and bankai in ten days!"

Ichigo grinned as he crossed his arms over his chest, for a moment looking like a very young version of his father. "I did." His statement had her jaw dropping in shock.

Byakuya felt a flash of anger. "You are making light of something that is serious."

Ichigo looked at the raven haired man. "I have it." He told him. "My bankai is just...different." He looked at Shiro who cocked a grin. That was one way to explain it.

He snickered. "Let's just say he needed me to achieve it." His grin caused Byakuya to narrow his eyes at him. "Before you go and say it pretty boy, yes, I have hollow-like reiatsu. No I am not a hollow."

"He's a former hollow." Rukia explained. "When he reincarnated his spiritual pressure that he had as a hollow stayed the same."

"Along with some of my features." He pointed at his eyes. "I'm just the weird twin."

"Hn." Byakuya hummed before walking away.

"At least he's not trying to fight me now." Shiro told Ichigo, who nodded as they watched the other man walk off.

Yoruichi came to a halt as she came across some downed members of the stealth force. Nudging one with her paw, she found no response from them. Rushing through the park area, Yoruichi came across more stealth forces, all dead. Her heart jumped into her throat. She truly hoped the bastards hadn't hurt her little butterfly. The young girl had always been a good friend to tease or talk to. Quick to come to a conclusion, even if it was wrong in Kisuke's case, but she had good instincts.

She frowned as she climbed Sokyoku Hill. The winding stairs taking her through a white dead tree forest. In one of the trees she saw Yachiru hiding. Further ahead she saw Soi Fon engaged in a fight with Ichimaru and Kenpachi about to engage in a fight with were about to get real here.

Letting her own reiatsu flare, Yoruichi could tell when Soi Fon sensed her. At the same moment across the Sereitei the three Kurosaki men froze up, along with every captain in Soul Society.

In the twelfth, Mayuri Kurotsuchi smiled devilishly. After receiving the news from the head captain that Aizen had turned traitor, he believed that the project he had been working on with his zanpakuto would be enough to take down the traitor and anyone else that had aligned themselves with him. Picking up his glowing sword, Ashisogi Jizo, his grin became larger at the surprise he had waiting for the traitor and his companion.

Murderleo38 - You'll see Ichigo's bankai very soon. I'm writing a fight between Kenpachi and Aizen next, but soon the twins will fight the traitor, along with all the captains. I am hoping to make it a great fight. It might last a couple of chapters with several shocks and surprises.
