Chapter 43: Gin

Gin Ichimaru prided himself on being the slick snake he was. Since before he had joined the gotei 13 as first a lieutenant, then later a captain, Gin Ichimaru hated Aizen. His childhood friend, Rangiku Matsumoto, was attacked by Aizen's men who had taken a piece of her soul. Aizen had then added the piece to something called the Hogyoku. Later, while in Shino Academy, he learned that the piece missing from Rangiku would mean she would never achieve bankai. However, even before learning this, Gin Ichimaru had already decided he would find a way to return Matsumoto to her former self and kill Aizen Sosuke.

Gaining Aizen's trust at a young age, Gin search for a moment of weakness from the man, however a chance never presented itself to him. Aizen was too smart, too deceptive and not a single soul suspected him of being a traitor.

Well...that is until Kisuke Urahara.

The former captain of the twelfth was the only man to see through Aizen's deception; but it had cost him everything. Now living in exile, Gin couldn't count on him to being stronger than Aizen or smarter. So he waited a hundred years. Now, a new opportunity has presented itself. Or rather, two beings had. Those boys had not only fought the eleventh and won, but befriended the deadliest captain, next to Unohana. Both had also angered the Kuchiki captain, gotten the head captain all filed up and brought their father out of hiding. They had also forced Aizen to reveal his deception sooner than planned.

Then there was Tosen. Someone had killed the warrior he had come to fight alongside and was his accomplice with Aizen. His version of so called justice was what drove him. Gin never did learn why he decided to help Aizen.

Now they waited for the final act, as Aizen called it. Truthfully, they were running away. Their hollow accomplices would open a portal into the hollow world of Hueco Mundo and a new fight would begin along with a new act, but first, Aizen needed Urahara's Hogyoku in order to combine the two together and complete them. The question to Gin was, who did Urahara use to hide it? Aizen had said that it wasn't in the Kuchiki girl, so who had it?

As they waited for the portal to open they suddenly felt two incoming reiatsu's coming towards them. "Predictable." he heard Aizen say as a small smile traced his lips.

Soi Fon was the first to appear with her shikai already in play and a dozen warriors from the stealth and reconnaissance squad with her. They surrounded Gin first as one of the more dangerous captains appeared. Kenpachi was itching for this fight. Gin gave a side glance at Kenpachi and then towards Aizen. Yes, Zachary Kenpachi was one of the deadliest warriors alive, but he was like a child when he fought. Aizen would kill him in no time.

Gin returned his attention towards Soi Fon. She would be entertaining, as long as he didn't kill her. He really didn't want to get involved with the Queen of Flash Step, Yoruichi was on another scale than this...child.

Pulling shinso from its sheath, he prepared for the first strike. It came from the stealth squad. All at once they attacked, hoping to overwhelm him with their number. It may have worked with a young lieutenant, but he was a captain level shingami, they should've given him some credit. Engaging flash step he was suddenly a blur, leaving after images in his wake. He came out unscathed as the squad fell to the ground. Soi Fon looked angered.

With a half grin, Gin, brought his sword towards the center of his chest and moved his blade on top of his other arm when it gave a blow before suddenly it lengthened and contracted as Soi Fon dodged it. Repeating the process, Gin kept her away from him. He really didn't want to fight her, but had to make it look good. Lengthening of once more, he swung the extended sword at her. Unable to block it, she flash stepped away, Gin was ready as he contracted his sword, spun around and released his sword piercing her chest. A second later Soi Fon saw purple cherry blossoms falling around her, soon after her vision began to blur and became unfocused before falling unconscious. A second after his sword touched her, Soi Fon's reiatsu vanished.

However, Gin's problems weren't over as suddenly the air around him became electrified. Turning his gaze towards the dead white forest, he now was faced with a very passed off Yoruichi Shihoin who was glowing with electricity. For the first time, one could actually see his electric blue eyes as they widened in horror as he realized what she thought he had just done.

Gin was struck in the gut before he could move to defend himself. Yoruichi's face in front of his before he was then thrown away from her because of the force of the punch towards Aizen who threw Kenpachi's unconscious form to the side. Gin landed on his feet and regained his balance before coughing up blood and wiping it from his lips.

Before Yoruichi could begin her next attack, the pink haired lieutenant, Yachiru came out of her hiding spot with her hands behind her head. "My turn, Kenny?" The look in her eyes reminded Gin of an insane person who had really lost it. He felt a shiver of fear go down his spine as an immense amount of reiatsu began to pour out of the small body of the lieutenant as she approached Aizen, her pink zanpakuto was then pulled out of its sheath before she rushed forward, the insane grin never leaving her face as she attacked the traitor.

M-Angel: So how was that? I know it was short, but I thought I would give everyone a glimpse at Gin here before getting into the big fight soon.

Zeynel: I'm glad you enjoyed that tid bit. ^_^
