Chapter 44: Monster
Aizen blocked Yachiru's first strike. To say the least, he was impressed by her strength. He knew the secret to this child though and that was, she wasn't even real. She was the manifestation of none other than Zackari Kenpachi. He was truly asked that such a monster had something like her as their zanpakuto; however, the fact was that even he didn't know the truth of his own zanpakuto, let alone it's name. It wasn't in Kenpachi's nature to be curious about something so...trivial when he, himself could demolish his enemies.
Unfortunately for Aizen though, it would seem Kenpachi's sword was just as crazy; if not more so, than it's master. Yachiru was truly unhinged as she went at Aizen with everything she had. Pulling her sword from its sheath instead of trying to beat him with it still sheathed, no command was called out as the sword glowed bright pink. Suddenly two unusual creatures form beside her as she continues to attack him. Having never experienced her shikai before, Aizen wondered if this was truly what Kenpachi's looked like.
One creature seemed to be made of bone with teal hair. It wore a black cloak and had a large bone going vertical in the middle of its face. The other is plump and covered in yellow fur, wielding a cleaver. As Yachiru attacked Aizen, the creatures mimicked her movements. As she attacks, the plump one's attack comes before hers, and the bones faced ones comes quickly after hers attack. This ensures that it she missed, one of the other two would get their opponent. Aizen was forced to take a step back to miss the attacks. It turned out he had miscalculated this girl, this zanpakuto's strength. She was a true monster.
Ichigo and Shiro have each other a look. They had felt that release of energy. No doubt about it. It was one of their new allies. They knew their father would try to stop them, which meant it was time to pull a twin on him. Shiro gave Ichigo a nod before moving to distract their father with some questions while Ichigo went to help their new friends.
The hollow child approached the captains. His golden eyes seeming to creep them out a bit.
Good. His zanpakuto quipped. They need a reality check once-in-a-while.
Turning his attention from the older head captain, Shiro spoke. "So, why the hell did you hide the fact we have family here!" He yelled as he pointed at Isshin, this question threw the older man off.
"Huh?" he asked confused.
"The Shiba's!" Shiro yelled at him. Threw his hand at Ganju. The heavy man blinked in confusion before gasping.
"You're our uncle!" he was shocked. Isn't he suppose to be dead?
On cue, Ichigo motioned for his friends to follow him. Hitsugaya saw Ichigo and his friends begin to pull away. Distraction tactic? Sighing, he motioned for Matsumoto to follow, she was about to complain but the look in his eyes made her close her mouth and follow.
"Now wait a darn moment, I just said something about this!" Isshin yelled at his youngest son.
Shiro turned his back to his father. "Oh, now you say something..." He hid his grin. Isshin really never did catch onto this tactic until it was too late.
Isshin crossed his arms over his chest. "I'm sure I've said something over the years-" he began only for Shiro to continue.
"Hell I didn't even know about my powers until they manifested and I had to learn by myself because you always made me feel inferior." Oh yeah, he was pulling out all the stops here.
Isshin felt embarrassed for making Shiro feel this way. "I never meant for that to happen." He went to look at Ichigo, when he suddenly realized that his eldest was gone. "Where's your brother?"
Shiro looked over his shoulder with a big grin. "Where do you think?"
Both Kyoraku and Ukitake looked dumbfounded. "He got played." Shunsui stated, a bit impressed.
Jushiro chuckled next to him. "By his own sons." Both men chuckled. The head captain didn't seem amused by this display.
It was then that a second explosion of reiatsu was felt coming from Sokyoku Hill. It was from Captain Unohana as she had made the discovery of the two battles. Yoruichi seemed to be holding her own against Gin, by she was worried about Lieutenant Yachiru. Though powerful, the girl couldn't possibly win against Captain Aizen. Releasing spurts of reiatsu, she intended to have the remaining loyal captains know her position and the position of their enemy.
Just as Yachiru jumped away from Aizen's kido based attack, two Quincy arrows faced passed her. Reflecting one arrow, Aizen caught the second with hand and crushed the power within it.
Unohana turned to see the Quincy, Uryu starring with wide eyes. "He canceled Ishida's attack." Orihime stated with shock.
Aizen smirked. "Your pitiful attempt to attack me will result in your deaths, humans." With no incantation , he shot out a bolt of lightning towards the group.
"Orihime!" Ichigo yelled out.
"Santen Kesshun!" she yelled out creating a golden shield between herself, her friends and Aizen's attack. The bolt of lightning dancer across the surface before being reflected back towards Aizen. The result was an explosion where he stood. However, as the dust settles it was revealed that he was unharmed.
However, time had run out as a dozen flash steps were heard. A second later half of the Gotei stood around them all with their zanpakuto released, ready to bring down the traitor. What none could have foreseen was this was only the beginning.
M-Angel: I had planned on post this on the first of the year but 2020 decided to pack a one, two punch at my family. My best friend, teacher and companion, my Mom, died over Christmas. So, I'm sorry it took until now to do some editing on this chapter. Next chapter I have something special planned. Hopefully I'll be able to post it soon. ^_^ I won't be answering reviews in this chapter. I'll do that next time. Hope you enjoyed the brief fight scene with Yachiru. Yes, I believe Aizen knew what she was. I just don't think he knew how strong she actually was though.
