*Nothing interesting to say, except here is chapter 10!*

Once Lotso entered the room, most of the toys stepped back. Andy's toys huddled together while Buzz and Jessie had sprinted over to help Woody. He had trouble getting up after being thrown into a pile of blocks. All three of them stood together, holding their breath.

"Nicely done, everyone. A good first shift. Lotso said, walking around. Everyone did well...except for you, sheriff." He turned to Woody. "That was poor effort from you today. Didn't seem like you wanted to participate in our playtime. You need to work on that." Jessie held onto Woody's arm as she glared at the bear. Buzz balled up his fists and stepped forward.

"Poor effort? He can barely move thanks to you and your goons beating him last night! The space ranger shouted. You think anyone here is going to want to be played with about going through what you did to him?" Lotso rounded on him.

"I don't think I asked your opinion, now did I, Lightyear?" Buzz growled and started to advance towards him. From the loft, Rosetta had the curtain pulled back a little and watched Lotso, her cheeks hot with anger. Oh how she hated that bear! She looked over at her father. She wished that she could run to him and be with him, but she knew to stay put. Drawing her attention back to her uncle, she thought to herself, Don't do anything stupid, uncle.

"Buzz!" Jessie hissed. He stopped, looked at her, and then looked at Woody. His face softened when he realized what he had done.

"Woody, I'm sorry. I didn't..."

"It's fine, Buzz." Woody whispered. He then stood up straight and looked Lotso dead in the eye. "Forgive me, Lotso. I'll try to put in more effort next time." Lotso walked towards them, grabbed him by the neck and threw him to the floor. The cowboy hit the floor hard and groaned, his body still sore from last night.

"See to it that you do. Also, do remember to keep your family in line. That little outburst from Lightyear is gonna cost you." As he said that, he kicked Woody in the chest, making him cry out in pain. Rosetta gasped softly, as did Jessie. Lotso walked around the sheriff. "I also recall that I told you and your family that not to misbehave. That means no hiding during playtime!" He rounded back to Woody, kicking him in the chest harder than the last. Woody winced and looked up at him.

"What, what are you talking about? No one was hiding." The bear slammed his foot down on Woody's leg. "AH!"

"Three little aliens were found hiding in one of the storage bins during the entire morning!" Another kick, this time to his head. "Everyone in your family is to remain on the floor at all times. No one hides from the toddlers, Mrs. Potato Head!" All heads turned to the female spud.

"Sweet Potato, you didn't!" Mr. Potato Head gasped.

"I had to. I didn't want the boys to get sat on again. I'm so sorry, Woody." Mrs. Potato Head said. Rosetta looked at her and then back at her father. She saw his eyes, flooded with hurt, pain, and sadness. He was kicked two more times and punched in the face. Lotso nodded to Twitch, who picked Woody up and held his arms behind him. Stretch handed Lotso his knife and he jabbed it into the side of his chest.

"No!" His family screamed.

"Daddy!" Rosetta screamed quietly. Lotso held the knife in his side a minute more and then forcefully sliced it down, making Woody scream.

"AH! Ow, you son of a..." Lotso cut him off by placing the tip of the blade against his neck. Woody held his breath as he stared into his beady eyes.

"This is your final warning, sheriff. If you can't keep your family in line, you are going to meet the same, tragic end as your daughter. Lotso said quietly. Do I make myself clear?" Woody exhaled, his breath shaking. Swallowing, he closed his eyes and nodded slowly. Lotso removed the knife and punched him one final time in the gut. Twitch released the cowboy and Woody fell to his knees.

"Recess ends in twenty minutes." The bear said, walking out of the room. Once he and his goons were gone, Buzz and Jessie sprinted over to Woody, who was holding his side.

"Woody! I'm so sorry, buddy. I, I didn't mean...the words just slipped out!" Buzz said.

"Not now, Buzz! Jessie snapped. We have to get him fixed before those kids come back. Someone find me some tape and something to hold the hole closed! Let's get him to the loft." Rosetta heard her and ducked behind the play kitchen. Buzz and Jessie helped Woody sit up against one of the walls. His breathing was fast and ragged. Slinky came up with tape in his mouth and Rex had two safety pins. Jessie got to work on Woody as the others argued.

"What the heck was that?" Potato Head snapped.

"Lotso was way out of line this time." His wife said.

"There's nothing we can do about it. We are in his daycare. Hamm said. Whatever he says goes."

"But stabbing Woody? Threatening to kill him? That's borderline psychotic!" Slinky yelled.

"Enough!" Woody yelled, but hissed when he moved. He sat back and let Jessie place the other pin before speaking again. "It's no use complaining about it. It happened, let's move on, and try not to anger Lotso anymore than he already is. This is our life now, we might as well get used to it." Rosetta couldn't believe what she was hearing. Her father would never give in so quickly.

"But what about Andy?" Rex asked.

"Yeah come on, Woodster, we can't give up now!" Hamm said.

"Face it guys, you were right all along and so was Lotso. Andy is just going to put us in the attic and forget us. That's what will happen if I go to college with him. I will sit on a shelf, never to be played with again."

"But Woody, what about being there for Andy? Like you've always told us? Sit up. Jessie asked. He did so Jessie could wrap the tape around him.

"Jessie's right, Woody. We can't continue to let him torture you like this, cowboy." Buzz said. Woody looked at Buzz.

"I can take the torture, Buzz. As long as he doesn't touch you guys, I will take the punches and the kicks. The cut on my side took me by surprise, but I'm not going to let it stop me from protecting my family. My daughter is dead because of me!" Rosetta's eyes went wide. He thinks I'm dead? She thought. Her father continued his rant. "I lost her and that is on me! If Lotso hadn't caught us, she would still be here and we wouldn't be going through this!"

"Woody, even if you didn't escape, we would still be tortured by those kids, and we still would have endured Lotso's wrath either way. Look, we can't change what happened, it's in the past, but what we can do is get out of here. He is going to kill you if we stay here another day, Woody! Also, you need to cut it out with the blame game, cowboy, cause you are not to blame for any of this. If Rosetta were here, she would be disgusted by what you're saying"

"You got that right, Uncle Buzz!" Rosetta finally said, stepping out. Everyone turned and gasped at the sight of the little girl standing before them. Woody was beyond shocked.

"Rose?" He asked.

"I am so sick of hearing you take the fall for this when you had nothing to do with it. She said, walking towards him. All my life, you have taught me that life is not worth living if you aren't loved by a kid. Andy is your kid, dad, so I get why you wanted to go back. We were the ones who believed our time with Andy was done. We ignored you and that was our fault. But what happened here, with Lotso, you are in no way taking blame for that. You have taken several beatings from him and are still standing. That is what makes you my hero, dad." Woody stared at her, his lip quivering. He got down on his knees and scooped her up in a tight hug.

"Oh my baby girl. Not that that wasn't touching, and I thank you for it, but I am so relieved to see you. I thought you were dead." She pulled back and looked at him.

"And what is that about? Why are you...Hold on, what did Lotso say to you? Did, did he tell you that I was dead?" Her father nodded, as did everyone else. "That bastard!"

"Hey, language young lady!" Jessie scolded.

"Sorry auntie." She hugged her and Buzz and said hello to the others. "Oh I am so happy to see all of you. But we don't have a lot of time left. I know a way out of here!"

"What?" They all gasped.

"That's impossible." Potato Head said.

"Hold on, hold on! Buzz said. Rosie, I'm afraid Potato Head's right. The only way out is..."

"In the trash, I know. Rose said. We aren't ending up in the trash. We just need to get to the trash chute, wait for the truck to come, and hitch a ride back home. It's the only way out, our one and only chance."

*I crammed a lot in this chapter, which is why it's kind of long, but that's okay, right? Big break out next chapter!*
