"Izumi, please head to the teachers offices." Ectoplasm opens the classroom door, "We are going to need to have a discussion between this class and the next."

"Umm. Did I do something wrong? Why are you making me leave?" Izumi looked to the door with a confused expression, "Can you just go ahead and give me the detention now instead?"

"You are not in any trouble, just please head to the teachers offices."

Izumi stuffed her notebook back into her bookbag, "Uh. Alright, I guess." She stood up from her seat and made her way to the door glancing behind at the shocked faces of her classmates. She headed down the hall towards the teachers lounge and knocked on the door. Vlad King opened the door for her to enter before asking, "Who are you here to see?"

"I don't know. I just got sent here. Ectoplasm said we needed to have a discussion between classes, whatever that is supposed to mean." Izumi took a quick sweeping scan of the room, "Would Snipe be in here right now by chance?"

"Yes, he is free this period." Vlad pointed over to Snipe's area. "You can go take a seat next to his desk. He only stepped out for a minute to make a call."

Izumi walked over to Snipe's desk and took a seat in his office chair awaiting his return. He returned to the offices in a few short minutes. He glanced over to his desk as he walked in and let out a long sigh, "What have you done this time?"

"I don't know. I still don't know why I got in trouble yesterday."

"You got in trouble because you cursed in my class. That sort of language is prohibited in my neck of the woods."

"What, do you never curse?"

"No, I do, but I don't do it on the school campus. I personally like to keep a bit of a flannel mouth."

"Is that a personal discretion thing or will I get in trouble every class I curse in?"

"It's against the rules, but obviously the teacher has to report it for a student to get in trouble. Some teachers don't care so they choose not to. You can call me old fashioned but I don't think profanity should be coming out of your bazoo at this age," Snipe said firmly, folding his arms across his chest. "Now, let me ask again. What did you do to end up here this time?"

"I really don't fucking know. I wasn't doing anything wrong. I was even answering every question so we could move along faster."

"Hmm. Well first, Detention."

"Oh come on! We aren't even in class..."

"Fine, I'll be nice and let this one slide. Also, the issue might have been you answering every question. You have to be sure to give other students a chance. I honestly should have seen this coming, you went to a magnet school known specifically for science and math. I should have had you tested to move out of the class yesterday. I'll just go ahead and acknowledge the corn, I procrastinated and didn't look into my homeroom class's files until after school yesterday." He paused, looking around to make sure no one was listening in. "Make sure you keep that dry though."

Izumi smirked, reclining in the chair and kicking her feet up onto his desk. "I ain't no snitch," she said with a poor accent.

Ectoplasm walked into the office shortly after the bell rang to release class. By then, Snipe had kicked Izumi out of his chair. She'd moved to the smaller seat on the other side that was actually meant for students, though she insisted on keeping her feet propped up on the desk. "I apologize for your sudden dismissal," Ectoplasm said as he made his way over to them.

"Are you going to tell me what I did?" Izumi said, sitting upright in the chair and letting her feet hit the floor.

"Once again, I promise you that you did nothing wrong," he assured her. "Quite the opposite, in fact." He walked over to his desk, pulling a file from the drawers and walking back to her. "Mr. Snipe informed me that your previous educational experience puts you well ahead of the rest of the class in mathematics. Your test scores from previous years also reflect your capabilities." He closed the file, holding it at his side. "You have nothing to gain from being in my class. Therefore, we're moving you to one that will help with the development of your abilities."

Izumi leaned forward in her seat, trying not to appear disappointed. The first-year math class was going to be the one she could kick back in, but this would only give her more work to do. "Are you sure?" She stammered, trying to come up with an argument. "I can always learn more, even in a first year class."

Ectoplasm shook his head firmly. "You have much more to learn in other areas," he replied. "Your scores from middle school suggest an aptitude for engineering, so Power Loader has agreed to enroll you in one of his Workshop classes for first period."

She suppressed a groan. Not only would she have to do more work, but she would need to dial back her engineering to better reflect a high-school level, something she had surpassed a long time ago. "Okay," she sighed. "Workshop it is, then. What about second period? Do I still have to study macroeconomics?"

"Oh, yes. You'll still be enrolled in my class for second period." Ectoplasm glanced at the clock on the wall. "Speaking of which, we really should be heading there. Being late will reflect badly on both of us."

Following an otherwise uneventful series of classes, Logan headed to join class 1-A for sixth period. She found the classroom just before the bell rang. The hero students were already there when she arrived, talking amongst themselves about whatever their last class had been. They all looked exactly like Logan expected hero students to look: insufferable. The second she stepped in the door, her path was blocked by a stern-faced boy with dark hair that swept across one side of his brow, just over his glasses.

"It's against school policy for students to intrude on classes that are not their own," the boy said in an excessively loud voice, as if he'd been made to read from an instruction manual. Logan attempted to duck past him, but he intercepted her. "If you do not have permission to be here, I have to ask you to leave."

Logan rolled her eyes. "I have permission," she said bluntly.

"Then I must ask to see your permission slip." The boy moved his arm with robotic stiffness, jamming his hand in her direction and holding it there flat on its side.

She eyed him with both confusion and annoyance. "I don't have one," she said, mocking his arm motion. "You're just going to have to trust me on this."

"Written permission is required," he began, but Logan brushed him off, finally slipping past him. From what she could tell, there were no available seats, so she compromised, cutting straight through the rows of desks and taking a seat on the windowsill. The boy, hot on her trail, seemed almost personally offended by this. "It's against school policy-" he shided, but he was cut off by the sound of the bell ringing.

"School policy also states that students should be in their seats when the bell rings," she said with a smirk. The boy stuttered, spinning around to see that all of the other students had taken their seats. He quickly shuffled over to his desk, making it there just as the door opened. Eraser Head walked in, coming to stand at his desk. He scanned the room, stopping as his gaze fell on Logan.

"I know you are not part of my class." He furrowed his brow. "What are you doing here?"

"Observing," she said, beaming back at him.

He sighed through his nose, like a parent dealing with a rogue toddler. "That's not allowed. Get out."

Logan's smile was unwavering. "Well, I think it is allowed."

"What you think doesn't matter," he grumbled. "This is my classroom. Get out."

"What I think does matter," she said, forcing the cheerful pitch in her voice. "And sorry, I can't."

Eraser Head clicked his tongue. "What do you mean you can't? Do I need to throw you out?" The look of shock on the students faces slowly transitioning to fear as the conversation commenced.

"I mean I can't." Somehow, she managed to stretch her smile even further, reveling in the satisfaction of knowing that, for once, he had no grounds to punish her. She'd known this man for less than a minute, and already couldn't stand what she perceived as his "holier-than-thou" attitude. "I need to observe. Shouldn't you start teaching now Aizawa?"

"One: it's Mr. Aizawa; two: what are you observing?; and three who gave you permission?" He demanded, pinching the bridge of his nose.

"I'm observing your students," she chirped. "As for who gave me permission, well, you see, I like to consider myself to be a fairly independent decision maker." No sooner than she finished the sentence, a long strip of white cloth shot out at her, wrapping itself around her body. Eraser Head held the other end of his scarf tight, glaring at her. Logan's smile faltered for just a second. "Oh, look at that. I see what you are doing there. That whole trying to be intimidating thing would be much more effective if you didn't actively choose to teach children." The students' gazes switched from fearful to downright terrified.

He gave his scarf the slightest tug as a warning. "If you were actually my student, I would have expelled you by now. You have five seconds to tell me who gave you authorization to be here before I physically throw you out."

"Nezu gave me permission," she insisted. Smiling this much was starting to hurt. "Now can you take the scarf off?" She tilted her head a little, "I prefer to keep bondage for special occasions."

The door swung open, slamming against the wall. "I am here … Coming through the door like a hero!" All Might towered in the doorway, drawing everyone's attention away from Eraser Head and the mystery student. "Oh, what are you still doing in the room, Aizawa? I thought I was teaching the class today."

"Why are you so late?" Eraser Head asked him in return.

"Snipe stopped me in the hallway to discuss something," he paused, his eyes trailing over to see Logan tied up. "Also, who is the young lady you have tied in your scarf?"

"Hello! Since you asked respectfully, I have no problem telling you anything you want to know," Logan sent a quick glance back at Eraser Head before returning her attention to All Might. "My name is Logan. I am meant to be observing the class for a project that got approved by principal Nezu yesterday."

"Oh, hello! It's nice to meet you, young Logan!" He walked over to her, extending his hand to shake hers. Logan wiggled a little in the scarf, managing to stretch just far enough to take his hand. "I've heard a lot about you. They say you're a promising young student, but you can have a bit of a mouth when angered." He looked at the scarf that still held her in place. "I assume that's how you wound up in this situation."

The rest of the class looked at the scene unfolding in front of them with utter confusion. Logan stared at Eraser Head. "Actually, I tend to get a bit of a mouth when I'm feeling devalued."

"You knew about her, All Might?" Eraser Head asked.

"Well, yes," All Might said. "I was scheduled to teach class today, so I was told to look over her files. She is a very impressive student and I am sure she will do an excellent job in her project."

Logan dipped her head as well as she could. "Oh, thank you!"

"So they told you, but they didn't find it important to give me any notice?" Somehow, Eraser Head sounded even more annoyed than before.

"You had already left campus by then," All Might reasoned.

The scarf fell slack around Logan, setting her free. "Alright, well, I will let you take care of this then, since you seem to be much more informed than me." Eraser Head walked towards the door. "I am heading to my office."

Logan returned to her seat on the windowsill while All Might briefed the class on the day's training exercise. She sat beside him in the observation deck as the students took turns running their hero versus villain scenarios, making sure to jot down notes about each of the students' quirks. Once they were released for the day, she met up with Izumi and Rei, and the three of them headed home together.

"We need to be more careful tonight," Rei said as she pulled on her boots. "You both heard the broadcast. There's heroes out looking for us now."

Izumi gave a dismissive shrug. "Yeah, small-time ones. They're no more competent than the police."

"Still, we should be cautious. Switch up our tactics, extend our territory to outside the city. Anything that can throw them off."

"Well, we're vigilantes, right?" Logan said. "So let's act like it. We'll patrol and stop crimes as we see them happen instead of worrying so much about evidence."

Rei shook her head. "Yes, but the evidence helps to ensure their conviction."

"Yeah, but that severely limits the amount of people we can help," Logan insisted. "If we just take a few snapshots of the crimes right before we strike and then get them to the police station by tomorrow they could have evidence. It is going to be hard to keep up a larger range and still expect to collect the same amount of evidence."

"I don't know… I still feel a bit uncomfortable." There was clear hesitation in Rei's voice, but she relented. "I guess we can try it for tonight but we need to keep a close eye on the outcome of the trial to make sure the people we catch will still get put away for their crimes."

"Okay, that sounds like a good plan. By the way, I tied our boots up from my ceiling this morning and let them spin around all day while we were at school," Logan said.

"Uhh… why?" Rei asked, throwing a confused glance her way.

"Well, I know they work like our absorption suits right? They store up kinetic energy from either being hit or just from air friction so they can help add a boost to our running." Logan shrugged. "I figured if I strung them up and spun them around all night they would collect plenty of energy. We are going to be having a very long run tonight, so having them charged up to boost our running will let us go faster and conserve our energy."

"Wow. I really thought you never paid attention to my explanations but that was nearly a perfect explanation," Izumi said, looking legitimately surprised. "Also, that was a really good idea. I'm really proud of you." Logan gave her a small bow, which Izumi returned with a nod. "They don't work like our absorption suits though. Our absorption suits are essentially just an add on battery for the shoes. They just act as more surface area so collecting energy is faster. You got the gist of it right though."

"Does anyone have eyes on him?" Rei shouted into her earpiece as she rounded the corner of a building.

"He's a few yards ahead of me," Logan responded. "He's got to have a speed quirk or something."

Rei muttered a curse to herself, changing her course to head in Logan's direction. "Izumi, do you see him?"

Izumi's mic crackled before she spoke. "Uh, hey, new plan, group up on me. I'm northside," she began. Rei could hear other voices shouting in the background, though she couldn't make out exactly what they were saying. "Logan, take off your suit and adjust your choker. It looks like things are about to get pretty heated."

"Absorption suit deactivate," Logan said as she stopped pursuit and changed course to meet Izumi. The suit reatreated off of her body back into her boots, but her helmet remained on. She quickly flipped the dial flower on her choker far to the right as she ran. The choker began heating at a rate of 5 degrees per minute, allowing Logan's adaption quirk to start preparing for a high heat environment.

As Rei and Logan approached Izumi's location they could see a large plume of smoke rising. "I'm guessing we are about to really appreciate the fact that these helmets double as gas masks, aren't we?" Logan asks.

"Yeah! How did you guess?" Izumi replied in a sarcastic voice, knowing they had to have seen the large amount of smoke by now.

"What kind of house fire is this? Did a gas line bust or something? What the hell? How long has this been going?" Rei asked as they ran up to Izumi, their eyes locked on the burning home in front of them. The flames towered in the air, kicking up ash and smoke within two blocks of the inferno. Half a dozen people stood yards away from the building, arguing among themselves over what to do while they waited for help to arrive.

"I don't know but we should also probably switch to our adaptive suits. Adaptation suit, activate," Izumi said. Her shock absorption suit retreated into her boots before it was replaced by her adaptation suit crawling up her body. "Logan, how hot has your necklace gotten? Because with how large this fire has grown, Rei and I are going to be limited to the rooms further away from it. These suits can withstand heat but they sure won't let us walk through fire or anything."

"Adaption suit, activate," Rei echoed. "At the very least you can get anyone out of the more intense part of the fire and we can guide them the rest of the way out. Do you know how many people are inside?"

"No, but we'd better act fast because the people in there stopped screaming 15 seconds ago," Izumi said, the urgency of the situation coming across loud and clear in her tone.

The girls broke open a window on the bottom floor and began to search through the house. It looked as though the fire had started in the kitchen and had spread through the left side of the house. Izumi and Logan ran up the staircase. Izumi started searching the rooms on the right side while Logan started searching in the rooms on the left.

Flames were lining the walls and the door handle at the end of the hall was warm to the touch. If Logan thought it was warm with how much heat she had adapted to, she knew it must be burning to a normal person. She doubted that anyone would be alive in there but decided to check anyway. A billow of smoke hit her as she swung the door open, forcing her to pause while her vision cleared. Inside, flames had already engulfed the room, covering the furniture and making their way up the walls. Logan took a few steps in, peering past the burning bed to see a young girl huddled in the corner, her face buried in her knees. Somehow, the flames hadn't reached her yet, but the smoke and heat would have done damage regardless. Logan scooped the unconscious girl up in her arms, holding her high enough to avoid the patches of fire making quick work of the carpet, and took a few careful strides to get out of the room.

Rei searched the bathroom and bedroom on the bottom floor. While the flames hadn't spread into the bedroom room, the smoke did. She found an older lady passed out in the bed with a bottle of sleeping pills on the nightstand next to her. Rei dragged her out of the house to the sidewalk. As she headed back into the house, she saw Logan running down the stairs carrying a young girl. Rei grabbed the girl and ran her outside, setting her down next to her mother before running back into the house.

Logan returned upstairs and headed back to the left side checking the rest of the rooms. She tried to open the door to one of the rooms and realized it was locked. As she rattled the burning hot door knob she heard the voice of a man on the other side weakly call for help. Logan backs up some and kicks open the door finding the man stuck in the middle of the room avoiding the burning walls. "Who all is in this house?"

"Just my wife, two daughters, and I," he wheezed, his voice straining as he tried to suppress a cough. He doubled over into a coughing fit, almost falling as he did so.

"Alright. Here put your arm around me," Logan said, grabbing his arm and wrapping it around her shoulders and helping guide him down to Rei. Once she reached Rei she handed the man off and ran back upstairs to help Izumi. Logan looked through all the open doors on the right side of the house trying to find Izumi. She found Izumi kneeled down on the floor next to a young girl who had to have been less than five years old.

"Why is your helmet off?" Logan asked, shocked

"She wasn't breathing. I needed to do CPR fast. She is breathing now but I know I cracked a few ribs in the process."

"Okay here hand me the girl. This house is going to crumble any moment."

"We would be lucky if we even have a full moment," She said handing off the kid and running downstairs with Logan. "Helmet deactivate," She said soon as they reached the front door. The earrings fell to the ground next to the girls head. Izumi quickly grabbed the earrings holding them up to her head making sure to keep her head faced to the ground just in case. "Helmet activate." She breathed a sigh of relief when her helmet was once again secured on her head now able to look around freely.

"Oh shit. Guys we have a big problem," Rei said, running up to them. "There is a group of 3 heroes coming so now would be a good time to take our leave. Also, why did you take your helmet off!? What if someone saw your face? Are you trying to get caught or something?"

"I will explain later. Let's just get this girl closer to her family and take our leave so we don't get caught by those heroes right now," Izumi said, running the girl to the sidewalk with the rest of her family. When she reached the sidewalk she heard a large crash from behind and turned to see the house had completely collapsed. She heard the man begin giving her some words of gratitude as she ran away with a wave.

The girls quickly exited the scene with their boots giving their running a speed boost. As they were running away, Logan turned her necklace off and began returning to a normal temperature. "We have a long run home so we should probably switch back to our absorption suits. Every little bit of energy we can get counts with how much we just spent."

"Yeah. Good Idea. Also, good work guys," Rei panted as she ran.

The girls made it to Logan's house at 9:54. "Jesus. We cut it close. Maybe we shouldn't go so far next time." They took off all of their gear and began their walk home. Rei called her mom to let her know that they were just leaving Logan's house and they would be home in a few minutes. Logan stashed all of their gear in the usual spot. "Oh fuck. We are all going to be exhausted at school tomorrow," she said to herself before immediately passing out as she hit the bed.
