"Roach strain ready for augmentation. Protoss research facilities discovered. Experiments within useful to evolve Swarm. Must acquired. Ask or attack Protoss. Improve Swarm." Abathur spoke as Kerrigan, having gotten a bit stronger, decided to see what could be done with the evolutions.

"Well then, let's get to it." She focused as Abathur brought up a frigid world as he spoke.

"Planet Cantar. Concealed Protoss facility." The focus went down from the orbiting Overload as Abathur continued. "Many Protoss specimens. Captive scantipede is virulent parasite." Kerrigan nearly growled at the thought, was Abathur asking to cause Protoss casualties to prove a point?

She didn't get to word it before the facility started to rumble and quake as she inquired to the sudden power loss. "What was that?"

"Several wild creatures attack facility. Knocked out power." That was not good as the Scantipede was released and the guards were killed with additional Scantipedes emerging from the dead. "Scantipede implants parasites into host. Erupt from corpse. Essence must be ours." Kerrigan didn't attack him for that as the small band of Roaches emerged and headed for the Scantipede, taking out a few hostile creatures in their path before taking on the parasite and killing it.

"Essence acquired. Roaches modified with parasitic sequence." They went into eggs and emerged with green gems or crystals about their bodies as Abathur continued. "Corpser strain: implants roachling parasite. Erupts from enemy's corpse."

"Push forward. Don't let the animals kill the last survivors." They moved out to do so as the Protoss took notice of the assault.

"Zerg, but they're attacking the animals!"

"Let the roachlings attack the enemy first!" The Roachlings don't possess their host Roach's acid bile and had to attack with their claws, but that made them successful frontlines, but Kerrigan had her doubts about them, not likely to be her choice in the Roaches as the last of the feral animals were taken out and the Protoss able to survive as the Zerg withdrew.

"Protoss saved, feral creature attack replied. Scantipede essence secure." Next was the second evolution as she made it clear that she was not going to forgo lives for successful results, the Corpser was not going to see action, in her Swarm at least...

"Planet Mehlus IV. Environment used to guide evolution." It was another frigid world as Abathur explained. "Microbial organisms reproduce within pool." It showed Roaches consuming the pool to take on the organisms, but with it draining out, several perished to in the process.

"Generations of roaches ordered to consume. Most … organs seize up. Die." Kerrigan didn't counter that as she knew that sometimes, things were not meant to be easy as those who survived formed eggs around them and emerged with purple spikes and crystals as Abathur continued. "Survivors adapted. Formed symbiotic bond with microbes. New strain: Vile roach. Ready for command."

Kerrigan suspected this to be another Protoss target as their shield could withstand the acid saliva of the Roaches among Terrans, but she sensed something else on the planet. "I sense Terran forces nearby, attacking the Protoss. Let's see these new roaches in combat."

"Vile strain: acid saliva coats enemy. Slows movement, slows attacks." Several Hellbats stood in their path before the Roaches attacked as one spoke.

"System's unresponsive. What the hell is stopping it!?" They were taking out as they continued to several Vikings firing on a pair of forming Archons before they got the saliva treatment.

"Keep... Fighting." But it was a short fight as a Archon spoke.

"Brothers... Press... the advantage... Let the Zerg slow them for both us... and them..." Archon were powerful in the psionic sense as they pressed on to a force of Marines, Hellbats, and even a Thor as one exclaimed.

"Roaches! But they're darn different." They attacked, but the Vile Roaches were quite the tide turner as several complained to being slowed down.

"Armor's getting... sluggish." The battle was won as Abathur concluded the results.

"Vile strain successful. Unintentional Terran Attack eliminated. Protoss preserved." Kerrigan huffed that, of course Abathur wanted to attack the Protoss, but this made for a better battle, the markings on the Terrans were not Dominion, nor of Moebius, maybe it was just a small raiding force of pirates trying to get their fortunes out as Abathur spoke. "Two Strains displayed for approval. However, third strain is also available for test." Kerrigan raised her brow before she spoke.

"Let's see them in action." With that, the third test site was focused on...

The world was a colony planet, good for a Zerg Hive Cluster, but Abathur had the answer as to why it was not used quite yet. "Planet Tearo. Dominion base not far from Zerg hive cluster." The vision zoomed in several cliffs, no way up easily as the way up was at the back and they had defenses across the ridge before Abathur spoke. "Unique Zerg essence acquired. Ravagers. Can assault from far positions, can destroy exposed enemy defenses." Kerrigan took a look and nodded that it was the Dominion this time as she commanded.

"Let's drive the Dominion off this world. Destroy their Command Center!" The mutated Roaches headed out, their abilities the same, but it was the launched lobs of acidic residence that was the real twist as they fired them over, out of range of the main defenses and they impacted with heavy damage as the forces scrambled to respond.

"They're assaulting us from the high ground somehow!"

"Can they even do that?!" Kerrigan almost laughed at how the Dominion were reacting before a Banshee pair came soaring in as Abathur continued.

"Ravager strain useful, can launch acidic lob and impact aerial units. Can even use lob while burrowed." Kerrigan snorted as the Ravagers launched their shots while burrowed and the Banshee pilot yelped.

"How are they getting us!? Where are they even firing from!?" The pair were destroyed and the Ravagers came going as the Dominion Officer exclaimed to the attacks.

"All forces, prepare the final defenses!" But it was in vain as the Ravagers got behind the mineral lines from the distant and barraged the Command Center as Abathur called the test good.

"Dominion Command Center destroyed. Dominion resolve diminished. Must prepare sequences. Returning to Evolution Pit." Kerrigan came out of it to see the strains before her.

The Corpser was useful in a way, but it was still a ground-based enemy to handle, even with the parasites inside itself and Kerrigan didn't... like that, it reminded her of the old Queens and... her own parasitic into the Dark Matriarch, that was something not forgotten by the Protoss as she looked to the Vile.

Its purple crystals showed off its bond with the organisms that enabled it to slow down foes and even make them sluggish to lower their rate of fire, it was a good choice, but she had to be sure of them all before she made that choice and turned to the last one, the Roach more volcanic mound than Zerg.

The Ravager was made by mutating the Roach in such a way that its acid reserves would pool out, the unintended result was the mound hump of the Ravager that allowed it to fire off the acidic lobs at foes, Abathur even making the comment of 'Abnormal behavior of burrowed lobs. Will examine further', it was a tough choice, but she had to settle on one as she spoke...
