Where Kerrigan's vision landed on was an old sight to see as Abathur spoke in explaining why they were they in influence. "Planet Tarsonis. Location where Queen of Blades was indentured into Swarm." Kerrigan felt the presence of a domiant hive on the world as it zoomed in and there was a battle group of Battlecruisers closing in with wiping out any remains of the Zerg on the world. "Dominion battlegroup arriving to secure planet, destroy original brood. Adaptation required. Devourer of feral brood located not far. Must reacquire essence."
"I'll see to it." She then muttered under her breath and away from the link. "...just to humor you." Still, it was a curious thing to be using Corruptors for the evolution, but she could see what would change between the old mutation and the current one. A squadron of Vikings tried and failed to stop the Corruptors from getting to the Hive and Abathur worked to spin the Devourer into the Corruptors as they emerged from the Greater Spire to look much more sinister as they seemed to glow violet and started to develop eyes at the front instead of just being 'sightless' as Abathur spoke.
"Essence secured. Transforming corruptors now." They entered their cocoons and emerged as Devourers, the change was quite interesting as they seemed more like a mixture of the old and pulling some idea from the Brood Lords as Abathur finished. "Devourers ready for combat."
"Lets take out this battlegroup." With the Hive freed from the possible attack, it started to supply Hydralisks, Roaches, and Mutalisks to fight again the invading battlegroup, its base through a long corridor of canyons with heavy air support, but it was nothing to what the Devourers can do as Abathur spoke.
"Devourer strain useful. Able to attack faster than old strain, three per volley. Corrosive acid eats through armor, weakening and damaging enemy flyers with ability to stack damage over time." This was proven when the second barricade was overrun and the captain of one of the Battlecruisers exclaimed.
"It's a trap!"
"Devourers target heavy-class air forces. Destruction simpler through Devourers, followed by other attacks." The base was tougher as Kerrigan took in the larger force, being lead by a Pride of Augustgrad, one of Mengsk's prized Battlecruisers, so it was a good thing to be destroying them as the admiral exclaimed with fury.
"Concrete your firepower! I will not let this fleet be destroyed by a bunch of some old Zerg relics!" But it was in vain as the battlegroup fell, clearing the skies of Terrans in that section and raising the Zerg back up to war as Abathur spoke.
"Hive cluster saved. Dominion fleet destroyed."
The next world was a real eyesore as she never though she would be back to this graveyard, even when it redeveloped. "Planet Antiga Prime. feral Zerg brood under assault by Terran force wishing to take back this planet. Guardian strain found. Recommend destroying Terran force." Abathur spoke as Kerrigan looked over it, the lush and fertile world touched by Zerg and now under siege from the Terrans seeking to reclaim it, some she recognized as from the planet itself, the Antigans who tossed their lot into joining Mengsk from the Confederate, as they prepped for the attack, one that would kill them in trying, but they had resolve to take by their world under the banner of the Dominion and donning the violet armor once seen on Antiga.
"Alright, people, remember why you're all here. We're gonna make sure this is our home again for all of the people that follow us and look to us. So make it count." Kerrigan paused form the attack, her Corruptors ready to shot down the transports and heavy ships as he mind played a memory before her, one that was the first first real meeting between her and Jim.
'Captain Raynor, I've finished scouting out the area, and-you pig!'
'What? I haven't even said anything to you yet!'
'Yeah, but you were thinking it.'
'Oh yeah, you're a telepath. Look, let's just get on with this, okay?'
'Right.' The memory was something to chuckle at as she felt the Ghost suit as a second suit and it showed before the two of them took on Alpha Squadron to take the planet, and that lead to much more down the road as Kerrigan spoke, commanding the Corruptors elsewhere for the fight.
"No." Her resolve built itself as she moved to help, not to kill. "We're moving to help those people. None of them deserves to be homeless, not even kept from their own planet."
"Is Queen of Blades certain? Broodmother can control feral brood, if given enough time." Kerrigan forced herself with an answer, even reaching out and she felt... she felt Narud's touch on these creatures and wanted no Broodmothers to touch these ones until they were cleaned out properly.
"NO! We're to help these people and that's final, Abathur." The Gene-weaver was silent and Kerrigan expected some form of objection, but Abathur just nodded in agreement as he spoke.
"Very well." Abathur guided Kerrigan to finding the stray Guardians to get the work down. "Guardian strain needed to acquire to terminate feral brood." Kerrigan nodded as he commanded.
"Then let's make it happen." The simple part was taking out the Greater Spire that stored the Guardian strain in a distant Zerg expansion as Abathur confirmed as the Corruptor, developing more apparent traits to be a Guardian-able strain, entered their cocoons and emerged as Guardians, the powerful, long-range bombers for the Zerg Swarm before they were cycled out for the Broodlords.
"Strain acquired. Guardians ready."
"Let them loose on the feral Zerg brood, we need to clear them out and take what actual biomass we can use without the taint of Amon's servant on any of it." Abathur, somehow, understood as the Guardians moved out as the Terrans did the same, their first obstacle being Spine Crawlers and Hydralisks, but Kerrigan's Guardians moved to destroy them for the Terrans.
"What the? Why is there Zerg against Zerg here?"
"I'm staying out of that fight if I can help it, man!" Kerrigan didn't want to risk the Terrans deploying additional forces to spot her brood moving, so once the position was closed out of all ground defenses, the Guardians moved on, buying time as the Terrans and the Brood were in a tug of war and her forces would be the deciding factor as Abathur explained with a small Zerg force moving in to crush the approaching Terrans.
"Developed new abilities for Guardian strain, Guardians now possess toxin glands. Acid Spores now poison ground targets for intense harm." Kerrigan cocked a brow to the gene-weaver before looking back, those would come in handy against the Dominion as a toxic blast would weak defenses and forces for lesser forces to take down, given the chance as the Guardian weaved through and took out a mining expansion for the Zerg and moved to keep the Terrans protected and the Zerg out as drop pods came in to the Commander's relief, they getting more resources for the assault and for setting up more bases for their home.
"It looks like there is some hope remaining on our side, lads. Keep the pressure on, we are clearing out the Zerg here for Antiga Prime!" Kerrigan knew that meant that her Guardians would be in danger of the same, but she pushed it to the side as she continued to clear out the Zerg positions and took out the main hive as Abathur spoke.
"Feral brood destroyed. But Guardian strain recovered." She commanded the Guardians to leave and half-expected the Terrans to fire on them, when she heard some for mof comm from the Commander to his forces.
"All forces, cease fire, I repeat, cease fire, we have taken Antiga Prime, now we just have to deal with the stragglers."
"Sir, those Guardians are escaping, we need to..."
"Let them go, Private... I get the feeling that they already got what they came for. Plus, it looked like they had bigger fish to fry than to deal with us." Kerrigan smirked on how true that was as she left the link to see what Abathur had ready...
"Strains ready for adaptation." Kerrigan stood before the two Corruptors and made her choice, the Devourers were great for air units, but she wanted heavy siege power as the Guardians provided that with the Broodlords.
"Ready the Guardians, the Devourers can be used by the others for the time being." Abathur bowed before disappearing and Kerrigan headed back to the main portion before her senses went off and she booked it, Matt and Valerian had found something...
