Abathur didn't mince words as Kerrigan settled in as the gene-weaver spoke. "Ultralisk strain ready for augmentation. Dominion lab discovered on Korhal. Experimenting on ultralisks. Able to turn research against them." That ticked Kerrigan off that Mengsk was keeping Ultralisks captive for his games before she beamed, why not let them loose as she spoke.
"Bring up the first location." The location was what could only be called fortified to the end of war itself, Thors, Siege Tanks, Bunkers behind sandbags, and Perdition Turrets as Abathur spoke as they vision form the sky locked in on the location.
"Dominion xeno-research facility. Metis. Zerg inside. Can capture. Can use."
"Mengsk certainly wants to keep us out. But we can use his own specimens against him." With that, Kerrigan reached out and found her first specimen to use, the very same titan they were going to use. "An Ultralisk! I can do a lot with this one." With that, she reached into the mind and started to empower the beast, chained, but only for so long. "Hear me, Ultralisk. Break free. Fight to the door. Kill anything in your path." With the strain, the machines died out and the beast stomped free, the lone Marine there barely getting a call out before he was crushed underfoot before alarms blared alive and the head called in, hoping for an answer.
"Security Squad 4, what is going on in there?" But it was a bit late to do much inside the lab as the sole Ultralisk bashed its way through before finding more of its brood and made to free them from their restraints, but in doing so, also shattered the glass tanks in the chamber, filling the room in toxic compounds and a chance to mutate the beasts of war as Abathur voiced.
"Toxic compound released, great potential. Bonding to Ultralisk sequences." They entered the cocoons before emerging, bodies littered in toxic elements as Abathur explained. "Noxious strain: releases poisonous explosion. Damages enemies in target area." As a delayed reaction, the door shut down and the Marines on the other side ran for it as one even exclaimed.
"I didn't sign up for this!" But it was in vain as the Ultralisk thundered on, their bodies unleashing a maelstrom of lethal toxics into the ranks before them and the door, some even melting to the harsh chemicals as the lab started to lose ground in seconds and soon the front doors were busted open with a horde of Ultralisks breaking free and tearing through the defenses that made a frontal assault murder on the Swarm as Abathur voiced.
"Research facility crippled. Specimens freed. Proceeding to subsequent battleground." Kerrigan nodded as she released her hold and headed to the next location.
The next location was a bit out of the way of the main battles, but it was fine to Kerrigan as she took in the nuclear stockpile that was waiting there and she had every right to rid Mengsk of those, Nukes were quite handy to Terrans after all. "Outskirts of Augustgrad. Military housing, supply center. Facility must be destroyed. Experimental nuclear weapons produced within." Kerrigan nodded as the first position was spotted for war as she commanded.
"The bridge is guarded by Dominion forces. Move forward, secure the passage." From there, a trio of Ultralisks charged in thundering steps as the position exclaimed with firing on the beasts.
"Ultralisks incoming!" Mengsk, it seems also wanted to put them down with the test weapons as he ordered, Kerrigan hearing the same through the psionic signal through the comms.
"Fire the warhead, now."
"Sir, it's still experimental! We don't know what it'll do!"
"Fire the damn warhead, now!" Kerrigan watched as the first warhead hit the area, but its detonation was not primed correctly as the nuke did clear out the position a bit more, but the Ultralisks suffered no real damage before Abathur took into account the orange cloud now tainting the Ultralisks.
"Analyzing damage. Radioactive compound infecting Ultralisk."
"Make use of it." The Ultralisks entered cocoons with the compound before Abathur fused it in, using a familiar path that Kerrigan recalled was based off the Overmind and Cerebrates own ability to revive themselves without any lethal weapons crippling the ability.
"Integrating with atrophied evolutionary path." From those, emerged violet titans, spikes now littering their bodies as Abathur named the new mutation. "Ultralisk strain: Torrasque. Resuscitates dead tissue. Revives creature." The bridge extended as Kerrigan commanded.
"Press on, we continue the assault." With that, the beast thundered onward as the upcoming force of Marines was supported by a Viking, taking note of the new monsters.
"What are these ugly things?" But it was not enough as the Ultralisks thundered in and continuing into the city as Mengsk exclaimed.
"Put those monsters down, and keep them down!" The squad of Marines joined by a Siege Tank were the victims of that assault as no sooner that the Ultralisks arrived with intention to crush them, the Nuke dropped and took out the squad, but it also down an Ultralisk, but from it's corpse, emerged a cocoon as Abathur explained to his Queen's minor unease of losing an Ultralisk for the fight.
"Cocoon forms upon death. Will revive momentarily." Kerrigan eased up as the Cocoon pulsed before it tore itself apart with a fully healthy Ultralisk getting up as the Dominion started to panic to that new fact, that the very titans could easily revive themselves from death.
"It got back up! Oh, that ain't right!" The Ultralisk moved out once more as Mengsk commanded.
"Another warhead!" A pair of Vikings tried, but when one was caught in the nuclear explosion of a housing complex, the sole Viking left were ripped to pieces before the position of Marines, Medics, and Siege Tank made to fight back as well, the revived Ultralisk the only one to fight on as the other two dropped and entered their Cocoons and Kerrigan could feel the revival process rebuilding itself inside her champion as Mengsk tried to leave nothing to chance in clearing out the Zerg and freeing the Dominion from their scourge. "I will turn this city into a radiated ruin if I have to. Another warhead!" A comm center fell to the blast, but none of the Ultralisks felt the pain in getting back before pressing on to the location of the stockpile as Abathur, having made a few more Torrasques for the battle.
"Additional Ultralisks ready. Delivering now." From three to seven, the force was ready to assault before Kerrigan, out of amuse, had one stomp over and crush a ATV underfoot and the accompanying Marine exclaimed to the ruined ride.
"My car, man! I just paid that thing off!" The Marine tried to gun the beast down, but he ended up smashed before the force pushed in to destroy the entrenched forces and their stockpile as Abathur spoke to the destruction.
"Facility destroyed. Experimental weapon production no longer possible. Will prepare Ultralisk sequence. Returning to evolution pit..."
From there, Kerrigan breathed as she divided herself from the seat where she commanded, for cosmetic looks, as she took in the two mutations before her to which Abathur displayed to her. "Sequences ready for integration. Await decision."
It was hard, tough really, as the Noxious Ultralisk was perfect for mass troops as it had a passive toxic effect alongside its own discharge of those same toxins, but the Torrasque Ultralisk was a real menace as it could close the gap, can be fallen in battle, and revive itself with the aid of others protecting its chrysalis, that same ability requiring a longer time to fully ready to the Noxious, but she liked what the odds were with them as she gestured to the Torrasque.
"Ready the Torrasque for the main Swarm, spread the Noxious among my Broodmothers with several in reserve."
"At once, evolution with be completed." Kerrigan nodded as she headed back up to observe the fall of Augustgrad, having ripped apart Mengsk's forces in two locations with tainting one district in toxins and seeing a nuclear fallout settle on another part of the city before she reached out a bit more before...
She stopped at the feeling that was hovering in the sky, it was both something familiar, but also wrong, what was Mengsk holding up in the sky and what was its purpose...? She had to wait for he to gloat about it before she could move in a bit more, a subtle command to push in, but carefully...
