VI

Watching every motion
In my foolish lover's game
On this endless ocean
Finally lovers know no shame

Turning and returning
To some secret place inside
Watching in slow motion
As you turn around and say

Take my breath away
Take my breath away

Watching I keep waiting
Still anticipating love
Never hesitating
To become the fated ones
Turning and returning

To some secret place to find
Watching in slow motion
As you turn to me and say
My love

Take my breath away

Through the hourglass I saw you
In time you slipped away
When the mirror crashed I called you
And turned to hear you say
If only for today
I am unafraid

Take my breath away
Take my breath away

Watching every motion
In this foolish lover's game
Haunted by the notion
Somewhere there's a love in flames

Turning and returning
To some secret place inside
Watching in slow motion
As you turn my way and say

Take my breath away
My love
Take my breath away
My love
Take my breath away
My love
Take my breath away
My love

Take My Breath Away, Berlin

Seven Months Later

Jo and Blair hadn't had much, if any "alone" time without David since his birth just under a year ago. The truth was neither of them wanted to spend as moment away from their son, and Jo felt the ache every morning she left for work, kissing Blair and DC before heading off. Even now, it still hurt to leave.

Blair was expecting Jo home in about three hours. Having just fed DC, she was putting her young son down for a nap. David was teething already, and Blair knew her breast-feeding days were numbered. She wouldn't have traded it for the world, although her lover had missed her ample bosoms, as they could still be tender.

Just as she lay David down, her cell phone rang. She smiled at the name on it.

"Hey mom", Blair said to the other woman on the line. But it wasn't Monica Warner on the other end, but Rose Polniaczek. At one time, Rose didn't want her daughter to have anything to do with the debutante and daughter of the late Warner International CEO David Warner. It wasn't that she never disliked Blair, but she had found out, years ago, that her Jo was deeply in love with the other woman. That had been the cause of Jo's five-year hiatus away from home, an experience that had almost killed her.

Yet when Jo came back into all their lives, Rose and Charlie knew they had to spend the rest of their lives making up to Jo for how they had mistreated her. A lot of old, stubborn beliefs were slowly washed out to sea, the most important being the fact that Blair and Jo were made for each other. Rose could see that now. When David was born, Blair asked permission from Rose and Charlie if she could call them Mom and Dad. Both had been overwhelmed with happiness with Blair's request. Rose loved Blair almost as much as she loved Jo.

"Hey, Blair", Rose said, her heartstrings always pulling when Blair called her "Mom". "I know it's kind of late in the day on a Friday, but Charlie and I were wondering if you might want to let DC spend the weekend with his grandparents? You and Jo have had so little time together, and it hurts my heart. Parents need times when they aren't parents, but partners."

"Mom, that's so sweet!" Blair's eyes lit up, ideas already dancing in her head. "You're right, we don't get much time just to ourselves. It's worth it, though. I had just laid David down, but he's still awake after his dinner. I could have him over there in forty minutes. Oh", Blair added hastily, "don't tell Jo? I want this weekend to be a surprise."

"I was thinking the same thing, my dear. All you need is to bring his full bottles and some change of clothes. We're stocked up on diapers."

"That'll work, mom", Blair said with a smile. "Is dad home right now?"

"He's finishing off a haul, and he called me two hours ago. He'll be home later tonight."

"Oh, I'm gonna miss seeing him. Well, I'll see him on the flip side Sunday."

"OK, honey, I'll see you and DC in about forty minutes?"

"We'll be there, mom. Love you."

"Love you, too, Blair", Rose said, her heart pinching again.

Blair was able to arrive home before Jo, her excitement, not to mention her libido, already in over-drive, knowing she and Jo had the weekend to themselves. She hadn't a lot of time to think up what to do on a Friday night, but one of her brilliant ideas struck. She called The Palm, made arrangements for a private dinner with her lover, and booked the exact same room they had shared after committing to each other.

Her only...worry...if that's what she wanted to call it, was that she probably would want to fuck Jo the moment she got home, but the dinner was for 8 pm, and by the time Jo showered and changed, there wouldn't be time. It would have to build as the night went on.

"Hey Princess!" Jo smirked at her words. Like an old married couple now, I always say "Hi, honey, I'm home!"

"In the kitchen, Joey!"

Jo's smile broadened, knowing a warm, loving kiss was only moments away. As she entered the kitchen, Blair was instantly in front of her, wrapping her arms around Jo and giving her as deep and as sensuous kiss as they had shared in a long time. Jo certainly didn't resist. The kiss ran on for many minutes.

They finally had to come up for air. "Good lord, blondie", Jo said, huffing and puffing, making Blair laugh, "if you kissed me like that every night when I got home, I'd already be dead."

"What doesn't kill you, my barbarian, makes you stronger", Blair said in a teasing voice.

"That kiss was strong, that's for sure." She had liked it so much, she kissed Blair again. Blair did notice that there was no noise coming from the living room. "DC asleep? He's usually up when I get home?"

"Nope", Blair said, running one and then another finger over Jo's lips.

"Where is he?"

Blair leaned in close, a hungry look in her eyes. "Mom and dad are watching DC for the weekend. Mom said we need some 'alone time', my love."

It took Jo a moment to comprehend, then her face lit up. "You mean...just you and me this weekend?" Jo grabbed Blair forcefully, pushing her up against a kitchen wall, and giving her a punishing kiss, letting Blair know exactly how this weekend alone. "Me and you, just the two of us...God, what I'm gonna do to you this weekend, baby."

"You better", Blair said with a husky voice. "However", she said, pushing Jo away. "You need to shower and change, then we're going to The Palm for dinner."

"You know how to spoil me, Princess", Jo said, slowly walking into the living room and toward their bedroom.

"Oh, by the way Joey? Put two days worth of clothes in a duffle bag? We won't be back home til Sunday."

Jo doubled-timed it to the bathroom, showering and changing as fast as she could.

As was always the case, the two women had a heavenly meal to start their night, Jo having a Chicken Parmigiana on top of spaghetti, Blair's main course was a Prime Rib, with mashed redskin potatoes, with Au jus poured over both. They had picked loaded potato skins for their appetizer. Jo had a water and a Strawberry Lemonade as her drink, Blair staying non-alcoholic and having sweet tea.

They both knew what was for dessert.

"I don't know if I'm gonna like being away from DC for two whole night, blondie." At the moment, Jo was being serious. They had never spent a night without their son at home with them.

"I promise, my dear Joey, I will keep your mind off our little guy", Blair said with a grin. "But yeah, I know what you mean, no crying in the middle of the night, or changing diapers at 3 am. It's become such a part of our life."

"It has", Jo said, reaching across the table and squeezing her lover's hand. "But it's been so damn worth every minute. We're a family, Blair", Jo reminded her, the wonder of that still sending joy through her. "You two...you're everything to me."

"I love you more each day, Joanna Marie", Blair said softly. "I really do. Who would have thought that I'd be all-but-married to a motorcycle entrepreneur when we met-after you ran over Mrs. Garrett's flowers."

"You are never gonna let me live that down, are you Princess?" To this day, it made Jo blush, which Blair found so sweet.

"Never, ever, in a million years, and you wouldn't have it any other way, would you?"

Jo had to chuckle. "You're right, I wouldn't. I can't imagine being without you, Princess."

"You and me, my grease monkey, for all time." They clinked their glasses together, continuing to talk and enjoy their night together.

"God, yes, Princess, harder, faster, baby, oh Jesus..."

Blair was spooning Jo from behind, both of them glistening with sweat as their love-making entered a fifth hour. It hadn't slowed all evening. Blair and Jo were on their side, Jo's left leg between Blair's legs, her center opened up to her lover. Blair had three fingers deep inside of Jo moving at a torrid pace, her thumb rubbing over Jo's achingly hard clit.

Blair's propped up on her right elbow, her arm curled around Jo's neck, the blond squeezing her lover's breast and pinching nipple. Blair's labia and clit were rubbing against Jo's left side, in rhythm to her fingers inside the brunette. Blair was only grunting at this point, in a sensory overload between what she was doing with her lover. Both of them were gasping for breath.

"Joey...oh, God, baby, I love fucking you with my fingers. Oh, God...this is so good..."

"Yeah, baby, fuck me harder, faster..." Both of them could feel the rhythm slipping away as the sweet knot of pressure build up in their abdomen, where it would momentarily shoot like lightning to that small bundle of eight thousand nerves.

"Joey...come...please, come with me!"

Both of them cried out for the umpteenth time that night, as orgasms swept them away at the same moment, Blair continue to thrust her fingers and grind her center, until every nerve between their legs, indeed throughout their bodies, could take no more.

Blair watch Jo as she trembled with the shocks that came after, her face with that insanely sexy pain/pleasure look that accompanied a climax. Rolling Jo on her back, Blair climbed on top of her love, pressing their breasts together, softly kissing Jo's cheek.

"Ya know", Jo said, with a killer deadpan, "I really haven't missed any of this, Princess."

It took Blair a moment. "What do you..." Then she got it. "Oh, you barbarian", she protest, slapping Jo on the thigh, making her yip. Blair couldn't keep the laughter in. "Turn blue!"

"Damn near turned blue there, babe", Jo said with a laugh. "I still got it with the sarcasm."

"I was gonna kill you, grease monkey." Instead they tangled together, the musky smell of sex and sweat permeating the entire two-story hotel room. "I think we still got it with other things too, my dear." Blair kissed Jo's nose.

"Can't argue with you there, Princess." Jo became serious, looking into her partner's eyes. "God I adore you, you know that? It's only become more intense as we go on, Blair. Makin' love to you is the greatest gift I've ever had. Well...along with DC."

"That's a qualifier I can live with, Jo", Blair said sweetly. "I just can't imagine life without you ever again, Joey. How did we get so lucky?"

"Meant to be, babe", Jo replied, running a hand through Blair's blonde hair, loving the feel of I between her fingers. 'Meant to be."

Two Weeks Later

It was a beautiful late July day in New York. It could be oppressively hot this time of year, but today, there was almost no humidity, a light breeze, and the temperature in the upper 70's. Ideal weather for being out and about.

What made it better for most people is that it was also a Friday. The seasonably mild weather was supposed to hang around until the weekend, so people wanted to get out and enjoy it. The Dog Days of August were sure to arrive soon, then Fall would approach shortly after that.

Unfortunately, it was just another day for Jo Polniaczek, owner and operator of Brooklyn Honda-Kawasaki, the flourishing motorcycle dealership that had started almost two years earlier. Business was so good that she was in the process of looking for a second New York City location to expand her business. She was still mulling over whether to sell the Honda's and Kawasaki's that she sold at her present location, or if she would expand to other makes. One thing about bikers, they could be a very loyal bunch to a given brand, and the more brands you might have, the more prospective clients you could sell to.

As much as she loved her job, she'd rather be doing what Blair was doing today: driving with their son, David, and with Tootie, to visit Bailey and then Mrs. G. at Eastland. Jo thought of Bailey as her little sister now, the two of them becoming close since Monica Warner had decided to send the almost eleven-year-old to the school where Jo and Blair met. She hadn't seen Tootie in months, and while she called her friend, as well as Natalie Green in Denver once a week, it wasn't the same. She dearly missed the two Snoop Sisters.

Blair had picked up Dorothy Ramsey at her place in Soho for the relatively short drive to Peekskill. There was heavy Friday rush-hour traffic into Long Island City, where Tootie lived with some of her fellow troupe from her off-Broadway theater. From there the traffic would be no better until arriving north of Chauncey on I-87, then the traffic became manageable.

The traffic really began to thin out just south of Elmsford when I-87 headed northeast into New Jersey, and Blair took the split to the right onto Saw Mill River Parkway.

"I can't stand city driving", Dorothy said to Blair as the traffic finally wasn't a madhouse. Tootie had gripped the handrail on the passenger side so hard her fingers started to hurt. Blair had noticed.

"I don't necessarily enjoy it, Tootie, but I've dealt with it enough now over the years that it's second nature. Now Jo? My grease monkey loves driving in the heavy traffic." Tootie looked at her as if she had three heads. "Don't ask me why, but when we travel this way up on our bikes, she's always laughing and whooping it up."

"Girl's got serious problems, Warner", Tootie said with a grin, making Blair laugh. In the back seat, even little David, getting close to being one, made a delighted sound. "See, your son agrees with me." Again Blair laughed, taking a peek back behind her, David snug in his seat behind Tootie.

"Yeah, well Jo does have her moments, Dorothy", Blair said with a wink.

"Don't make me hold my ears, girlie", Tootie said with an eye roll. "No details, puhleez!"

"Oh, turn blue, Tootie", Blair said with another laugh.

The Saw Mill River Parkway would unceremoniously become simply New York State Route 9A, as it meandered unevenly north and a little west until it merged with State Route 9, then into Peekskill. The traffic had picked back up a little as they approached Peekskill, but nothing like it had been in the heart of New York City.

Blair hit the turn signal to merge right off the highway at the Welcher Road exit, and would take that all the way to Washington Street.

"When's the last time you saw Mrs. Garrett, Tootie?"

Dorothy thought about that. "I know I visited her after you guys brought DC home. Boy that was such a fun day."

"It was, wasn't it? It was so nice having all the family there. Doesn't happen that often anymore", Blair said sadly.

"Hey, you got Jo, and DC, and me, and Nat and Mrs. G. What else do you need, Blair!" Tootie always did have a way to make Blair laugh. She would have loved it if Jo could have come along, but Jo had to work, and loved her job.

Washington Street was one of the main thoroughfares in Peekskill, running its length and then some, many of the east-west side street emptying into it. Many of the intersections only had stop signs for the streets feeding into Washington, and even at a few, there were no stop signs at all. The speed limit was only 25 miles per hour, and people here didn't drive like they did in The Bronx or Brooklyn, which was pure insanity in and of itself.

Blair was going about 20 mph as she headed north on Washington Street, still talking to Tootie. There was no stop sign for cars on Washington St, as Sherman Ave. approached it to the west, that road ending at the intersection. There was a stop sign for the cars on Sherman.

"In fact", Tootie had been continuing, "I know I saw Mrs. Garrett in the summer, but damn if I can't remember when."

"It's not like you visit her all the time, Tootie", Blair said with a grin, glancing over at her friend.

Tootie was just about to respond when she saw it, out Blair's window. An SUV, much like the one they were in, was approaching the stop sign.

He wasn't stopping...

"Blair!"
