Hello and welcome to another experimental fanfic of Boku no Hero Academia, in which a new inspiration popped into my head in an unexpected way, and this would be the first fic that would be a little serious here in terms of plot…
This came suddenly after playing my MP3 and a certain opening song played while working on my other fanfics, which belonged to an anime that I watched a decade ago…which is Golgo 13.
Since that series aired in my country 10 years ago, I was hooked to a degree due to the mysteriousness of Duke Togo, which he almost always got away after carrying out the contracted assassinations while dealing with rival assassins and the like.
Then an idea popped into my head as I wonder what would Togo do if he is offered a contract to assassinate Midoriya, which I find it challenging given that Midoriya has One For All, and what would he do if faced with an opponent who is Quirkless yet a threat to him.
Here I decided to do an experiment and see if this would attract fans.

Ch. 1: Sutēkuauto
Japan.
The country that is located within East Asia, quite near different Asian countries such as China, Taiwan, Korea, India, and the Philippines, is seen and that country is ruled by the Diet, and are handled by the Emperor and the Prime Minister. After Japan's surrender at the end of World War II, the country began to change for the better, and for several decades Japan vastly improved, mostly in the technological department yet their culture and values remained the same, as most Japanese citizens remained hospitable to visitors, residents and tourists alike.
The scene then shifts to Yokohama, which is the second largest city in Japan by population, and the most populous municipality of Japan. It is the capital city of Kanagawa Prefecture. It lies on Tokyo Bay, south of Tokyo, in the Kantō region of the main island of Honshu. It is a major commercial hub of the Greater Tokyo Area.
The current area surrounded by Maita Park, the Ōoka River and the Nakamura River had been a gulf divided by a sandbar from the open sea.
Before the emergence of Quirks and the superhero society, Yokohama was bustling with life being a commercial hub, thus it is known for selling things that are trending to people, ranging from food to clothes to luxury vehicles and even the latest gadgets.
The scene later shifts to a certain area, where business is thriving the area is frequently being besieged by customers which are a mix of adults and teenagers, and they appeared to be avid collectors, as they are looking and buying second-hand items which are technological in nature, and their reasons for patronizing the said shops are purely economical in nature - cheaper prices and practicality. You can see several shops selling HOT items for cheaper prices, such as smartphones, android tablets and even laptops, and despite being second-hand items, they appeared to be in good working conditions, and some of the customers are willing to buy them as long as their desired items are working fine as well as to save money for budgetary reasons, and the merchants are using subtle means in enticing passing customers.
"Hello...please by our items..."
"They are cheaper..."
"...they are in good working condition..."
"You can try them if you like..."
"I promise you will like them..."
"I promise you will get your money's worth..."
"Here are the items on our display..."
"Pick the one you like..."
Then the scene shifts to another nearby shop, where a merchant is also selling second-hand items, but unlike the other shops, this merchant is selling something else and is catering avid collectors, and the scene shifts inside the shop where you can see the items being sold, which turn out to be classic console units and games, all being displayed on the shelves, and one by one you can see the following consoles being on display, which are:
- Nintendo Famicom
- Super Famicom
- Sega Mega Drive
- Game Boy Color
- Game Boy Advance
- Neo Geo
- Sony Playstation
- Sega Saturn
- Nintendo 64
In a matter of minutes customers passed by the shop, and most of them are avid collectors and fans of video games, and they were immediately intrigued by the items on display and they looked at the items, as some appeared to be unaware that such classical consoles actually existed, and they began asking the merchants if those consoles and its games are really something to be owned, which the merchant nodded and assured to them that the classic games are RARE, and are fun to play with, saying that even with popular games today that are released on current consoles such as the Sony Playstation 4, the Microsoft X-Box One and the Nintendo Wii, the consoles on display are even COOLER due to its nostalgia factor.
"Are they really cool compared to today's consoles?"
"Yes...they are cool..."
"Seriously?"
"Yes, sir...they are the very first games...and they are the popular ones in its heydays...and they are RARE to find..."
"Hmm..."
"Would you like to try them...?"
"..."
"I promise you will not regret it..."
Though when people with Quirks became prevalent, life and business went on smoothly as usual, but then Yakuza groups began to make their presence known, doing illegal business such as drug trafficking, and soon it disrupted the daily lives of the Yokohama residents, as gang wars erupted and this resulted in gang members engaging in firefights, which claimed innocent lives in the process.
Worsening the matter are Yakuza members began hiring applicants who possess Quirks and each rival gangs became more bold, as they challenged the police and are one step ahead of them, occasionally attacking various police precincts and killing and/or maiming police officers.
When the SYMBOL OF PEACE AND JUSTICE emerged in the form of pro hero All Might appeared, his actions steadily and gradually put a dent on the gangs in Yokohama, temporarily crippling the drug business and life at Yokohama slowly returned to normal.
However, one organization began producing means to create Nomus, and this caused Yokohama to go on notice, which after months of patience and hard work, the pro heroes eventually found the warehouse, destroy the Nomu-creating materials, and defeated some members of the League of Villains, which led to the defeat of All For One, forcing Tomura Shigaraki and his allies to make a hasty retreat.
In the aftermath, a few things happened which would change the lives of the society, which are:
- Mt. Lady and Gran Torino are injured
- Rag-Doll is forced to retire due to All For One forcibly stealing her Quirk
- Izuku Midoriya, Tenya Iida, Eijiro Kirishima, Shoto Todoroki and Momo Yaoyorozu succeeded in rescuing Katsuki Bakugo
- All Might is forced to use and expend his remaining Quirk which led to his retirement
- Endeavor becomes the No. 1 hero
- The public are starting to waiver its trust to the police and UA Academy
After a few weeks, Yokohama slowly went back to normal, though it partially caused some gangs to rethink their strategy and came up with a way to sell illegal drugs without exposing themselves, and began contacting police officials who are easily bribed, and those who are willing to protect the cartel. Through these corrupted police officials the cartel were able to smuggle shipments of illegal drugs to various clients and made a lot of money and the protectors were financially rewarded.
The cartel's leader thanked the corrupted police officials for their help, which they said it was nothing.
"Oh, it's nothing."
"Don't mention it."
"Just as long as you pay us…and we will protect you."
"Just give us a reasonable amount."
"And no one will suspect you."
"You can count on us."
"We will handle the rest."
"Yeah."
It is then revealed that a charismatic politician is among those financing the cartel and managed to cover his tracks, and discreetly instructed some corrupt police officials to protect some cartel after a certain group managed to procure some Quirk-enhancing drugs and intend to replicate them and sell it to the black market to generate illegal income, with the corrupt politician getting 60-70% of the commission, and the secret business went well without problems.
In a meeting, the corrupt politician, identified as Himoru Kuwokara, is about to attend a secret meeting with the corrupt police officials after being told that a cartel wished to make business with him and offered to give him 65% of the commission as the products consists of an experimental drugs that would give the user multiple Quirks with the claim that it won't have any side effects.
Kuwokara's assistant asked if he is sure about this as he felt that the intended drugs need to be checked to ensure that they can be sold without raising questions, though Kuwokara assured that things will be okay.
"Not to worry. Everything will be fine."
"Are you sure, sir?"
"Of course."
"Wouldn't it be better to test them out first before…?"
"No need. I'm sure they are effective enough to entice buyers."
"Really?"
"Of course. And in the end I would have part of the commission since I would provide protection."
"If you say so…"
However, one of the corrupt cops came and found Kuwokara and warned him to stay away, as he just saw some cops and a group of pro heroes are outside of the meeting place, among them is a UA student with green hair, which he described it and Kuwokara recognize the said student as Midoriya, and this made the politician feel worried that the corrupt cops might squeal on him.
Moments later gunshots are heard as the corrupt cops and the cartel members became aware and fought the dedicated cops, and as Kuwokara peered from a corner he saw Midoriya went into action and took down the gunmen, and this prompted the cartel members to take drastic actions as they took the drugs that they intend to sell and they gained Quirks and attempted to fight their way out.
Midoriya was shocked by this and told the cops to be careful as he began to use Full Cowling to gain an edge and started to overpower the cartel members, and there Kuwokara observed the scene, slowly believing that Midoriya seemingly possess a Quirk similar to the recently-retired All Might, and this made him feel disgust due to him hating All Might.
Soon the cartel and the corrupt cops are rounded up and Naomasa Tsukauchi began interrogating them and asked who is their contact, saying that he got information that a politician is secretly funding them, which Kuwokara became worried that he might get exposed.
He started to panic but his assistant urged him to calm down, saying that everything will be okay.
"N-no…this can't be…!"
"Sir…"
"It's over…I'm dead…"
"Calm down, sir…"
"How can I calm down…"
"I'm sure there's a miracle…"
"It's not even Christmas yet!"
"Please calm down…"
As Tsukauchi tried to put pressure on the corrupt cops, one of them is starting to buck under pressure and is on the verge of revealing Kuwokara's name as the backer, but the other corrupt cop manage to get the experimental drugs and ingested it, which moments later he gained a Quirk and started to fight back, prompting Midoriya to go into action as he fought the corrupt cop.
The corrupt cop is starting to go ballistic and threatened to kill everyone and said that he will not go to jail, and told his fellow corrupt cops that they too will have to go as they failed to escape, and this made them panic as they were restrained in handcuffs.
Midoriya uses One For All Delaware Smash to punch the corrupt cop and sent him reeling back, where he collided with Kuwokara, and there he decided to use him as a hostage in order to formulate his escape, and tells him that he will be his ticket to escape.
He also told the politician that since the transaction is now a bust, at least he has found a way to escape his pursuers and tells him to act convincingly so that he too would find a way to escape without getting himself exposed.
"Play along."
"Wh-what…?"
"You want to get exposed?"
"N-no…"
"Then act like a hostage…and we'll both get away…"
"B-but…"
"Better do it…"
"…"
Midoriya arrived and saw the corrupt cop holding Kuwokara hostage, and there the corrupt cop told Midoriya not to move or else he will kill the hostage, which made Kuwokara panicked thinking that the corrupt cop is serious.
Midoriya told the corrupt cop to stand down and surrender, yet the corrupt cop resists, saying that he won't be taken down by a mere high school brat.
"Release him and surrender!"
"No way!"
"Don't you hurt him!"
"I'm getting out of here…and this pig is my ticket!"
"Blast…"
"Now back off! Or I'll kill him!"
"…"
"I mean it!"
The police arrived and are ready to fire, but Tsukauchi told them not to as Kuwokara is held hostage, and there Midoriya thought fast and came up with something as he raised his hand and flick his fingers, using the technique he performed during the UA Sports Festival and the impact struck the corrupt cop back, releasing his hold on the politician and Midoriya grabbed Kuwokara and pulled him to safety.
Angered, the corrupt cop soon became more ballistic and began to breathe fire, prompting Midoriya to shove the politician aside as he evaded the attack, and while Tsukauchi managed to evade it, the flames caught the other cops were burned alive, along with the prisoners.
Seeing this, Midoriya acted on instinct and punched the cop by his jaw, using Delaware Smash, and the impact sends the corrupt cop back towards an alley and struck against an exposed steel splinter, which penetrated his skull and died on the spot.
Midoriya started to feel guilty at what happened but Tsukauchi assured to him that what he did was self-defense and has no legal implications, thus he has nothing to worry about.
"Easy, Midoriya."
"I…"
"It was self-defense. You reacted by instinct because the suspect threatened everyone."
"Still…"
"We'll take responsibility. There's no need for you to feel guilty as you have no liability here since you were part of the police operation."
"Tsukauchi-san…"
"Shall we?"
"O-okay…"
As the surviving cops call for ambulances, Kuwokara is being helped by his assistant and whispered to him that with all witnesses dead, he won't be exposed, yet the politician is incensed at the humiliation he endured and wrongly blamed Midoriya for it and vowed to make the boy pay for it.

A week later, at his residence, Kuwokara is still smarting from the incident and yet managed to have his SECRET business ventures hidden and as he is watching TV, a news report shows that Midoriya is seen walking the road and reporters flocked him and asked for comments.
This irritated Kuwokara and voiced his displeasure and vowed to have him killed one way or another, and his assistant saw this and offered a suggestion on how to get rid of Midoriya discreetly without arousing suspicion, which the corrupt politician asked how would that work.
"I have an idea, sir."
"Really?"
"Yes."
"And what would that be?"
"A contact of mine gave me a contact number of a superb assassin…he was hired by many groups worldwide, including government agencies in America…"
"Are you serious?"
"Yes sir. My contact said this assassin completed his contracts and if given the right price this assassin would be able to assassinate Midoriya without leaving a trace."
"…"
Kuwokara raised his eyebrow when told by his assistant that a contact of his said that he happened to know about a WORLD-CLASS assassin who originated from Japan and is hired by various groups, including those in the US government, and said that majority of the assignments were a success and said that this assassin could pull it off even if the target has a Quirk.
The assistant showed Kuwokara a folder and once he checked it, Kuwokara began to ponder if the one he saw just now is for real after being told by his assistant that this assassin was hired all over the world and produced a lot of successful hits without being exposed.

Tokyo International Airport.
The scene shows that passengers, arriving and departing, are flocking the area, and the place is busy as many people are catching their flight while others arrived and are looking to book a taxi to take them to their desired destination.
The scene shows that a man, of Japanese origin, has arrived at the airport after leaving an unspecified country, and he appeared to be emotionless as he act professional, and after showing his passport he is allowed to leave the arriving area and went to the conveyor belt to pick up his belongings, and after a few minutes he grabbed his bags and left the airport.
The man is identified as Duke Togo, and he appeared to be looking for a way to earn a living while in Japan, as it turns out that he is known by a select few as a superb assassin, who is known by his alias of Golgo 13. He has no idea that soon he would be offered a contract which would put his reputation to the test.

Hope you liked this chapter, and though not much action is shown, the brief scuffle is in Yokohama is set after the Shie Hassaikai arc, but diverges a bit where Midoriya is still doing internship for Nighteye Agency…
An original character is introduced here to serve as a plot device that would introduce the secondary character here that would act as a threat to Midoriya…
And that character is none other than the PROTAGONIST of Golgo 13 himself, who made a brief appearance here…but he will get more exposure in the upcoming chapters…
